Barbacoa de Chivo con Rajas (goat meat with grilled chile peppers)
    Kim L.

I can't say this is the *best* Mexican I've ever had but considering location and the options around here, Cielito Lindo is a stand out. There's a lot of restaurants in small strip malls around this road but this family operated Mexican restaurant gives you such delicious food for such a great deal that I wouldn't really want to have anything else if I'm around here. There is an expansive selection of familiar foods including tacos, nachos, tortas, quesadillas, enchiladas, burritos, guacamole but also encompass a wide selection of traditional Mexican plates/entrees served with rice and beans including chicken in mole sauce, barbacoa, carnitas... wow! I was a bit overwhelmed because I wanted to try everything but ended up going with Barbacoa de Chivo con Rajas (goat meat with grilled chile peppers). A friend who is a frequent customer suggested the Casamiento (pork chop & steak with fried plantains). My friends who came with got the Casamiento and El Comal which looked and tasted amazing. Before your order arrives, each table is given homemade nachos with a green dip/salsa and pico de gallo. So fresh and the green dip is really amazing, I've had nothing like it but it's flavorful and you can see the cilantro in there. My actual entree was massive and even though I was starving, I could barely finish the whole plate. Super fresh and flavorful. To the point where I didn't even need hot sauce and I love slathering hot sauce on my food. As for ambiance... it's not a high end restaurant and you shouldn't expect it to be. It's actually a converted Japanese restaurant - you can see from the glass at the front door with the bamboo accents and the front desk decorations. It's not a big restaurant either; there's booths that fit 4 on both sides and some tables in the center. There's some baked goods at the front in rows of trays that you can pick up to go. BYOB. Can call to pick up food if you don't want to eat there. Seems like delivery isn't super consistent but it's certainly worth a drive by to eat here. If you have a Mexican fix while you're around this part of the Jersey shore, I can't recommend Cielito Lindo enough :)

I go to the location in Belmar often and love it. This was my first time at this location. I came here 10 minutes before they were closing (didn't realize this upon entry) and we were graciously served! We ordered two tacos and a burrito and it came out within 10 minutes. The place was very clean and the staff was very warm.

Great tacos, average enchiladas rojas, slow service. Overall worth the trip, kind of spur of the moment on a rainy 4th if July. Good atmosphere but waited a long time for our food and for our check. Food came out mostly correct, some food was forgotten and didn't arrive until we were ready to leave. I would definitely try this place again though because of the quality of the tacos.

The food is yummy delicious. always all the time but the service is very sluggish . I try something new every time.. I love the food there always. That's my only complaint. Don't come hungry because the food and the tab takes a while to close. If that doesn't matter then not a bad place to try.

After seeing positive Yelp reviews I decided to take a ride to Manasquan and check this place out. Nice little place off to the side of a Hibachi restaurant, don't drive too fast or you'll pass right by it. Friendly staff, served a bowl of tortillas with a nice salsa verde that was fresh and perfectly spiced along with a bowl of pico de gallo that was also fresh and delicious. Ordered 4 pork tacos, and they were excellent! They were filled with spicy pork, seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious. The presentation of the plate was out of this world, and the whole thing set me back $8.50. I will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes.

We got a few different kinds of drinks some including margarita's and one was a kiwi flavor drink. I think it was awesome that they gave us the option for different kind of salted rims. They're mostly known for their shared plate concepts so we got several items and split everything. We got the tostadas which was an interesting plate of a couple different things, the nachos which I loved, the ceviche which was ok-not your typical ceviche and bit too spicy for me, the salad which I really liked, camerones which the table liked, the pork tacos which I heard were very spicy, the chicken tacos which were good and the steak which was hands down my favorite and the yuca mash was so yummy and different. For the steak, you can only get it medium rare or well done which I is 2 complete ends of the spectrum. We are medium people, so we ended up getting a medium rare. It was definitely a lot of food, but it's a good amount for all of us and it was a nice way to try the menu. I definitely will be back.

Ordered spicy margaritas, classic margaritas and sangria and were very happy with all of them. Food was delicious with one exception. Multiple orders of pork tacos cuz they're that good. Tostadas were top notch as well. Only disappointment was the chicharron. Avocado crema slaw that came with it was very good but pork was way too fatty. Came out pale white instead of crispy brown and tasted like it looked. Service by Liz was phenomenal. It was Easter so it was nice having the place not quite to ourselves but almost. My second time there and definitely worth a revisit. Sorry for the lack of pics

This is not your ordinary Mexican restaurant! It is one of the best you will find in this country…read moreand I have not eaten better Mexican food whether in NYC, Bay Area, Chicago, LA, Arizona, and even Mexico! Notably, the specialities are Oaxacan. So we stuck to those and ordered a chicken with mole negro and tlayudas (without meat). Wow!!! These were both incredibly delicious. The mole was the most delicious I had ever eaten anywhere including at Oaxacan food festivals and I nearly licked the plate clean!! Every taste of this was heavenly...you could taste the chili and chocolate and many other ingredients complex and rich ingredients that created a chocolate nutty aromatic sauce with a smooth and deep chili burn. The chicken in which it was braised was among the most tender and fall-off-the-bone moist chicken I have ever eaten. The rice and black beans it came with were equally delicious. The tlayudas was my first: wow!!! It was so complex and balanced like the mole, but much lighter and with more complex textures. There was what seemed like a baked flour tortilla buttered with black bean paste and different cheeses including Oaxacan fresh homemade cheese and cheddar cheese and even a type of creamy white cheese topped and layered with fresh lettuce and avocado and vegetables as well as pickled cactus to create a panoply of flavors and textures, light, delicious and perfectly balanced in each bite. Thank you for this wonderful culinary experience!!

Squash blossom quesadillas were delicious and a huge portion. Huevos rancheros also hit the spot. The fresh OJ was super sweet. They had tons of breads but we didn't try them. Looking forward to stopping in again next time I'm in AP.

Didnt partake in $25 valet parking but was sorely tempted. The indoors are beautiful, white walls and pretty decorations, large bar. Service: Terrific. 5 stars. Julia was awesome, helpful and honest. I did tell her I cant eat spicy stuff although I enjoy lightly spicy stuff. Drinks: I tried the Lebanese red wine. Very nice medium body. My husband tried the old fashioned which he said were good. Starters: we had the salatim which is 6 different dips and two piping hot large pita breads. I liked 4 out of 6 dips while hubby liked 5 out of 6. We both loved the hummus, salad, lima bean, and eggplant ones. This kind of eating is always fun. The discovery! STAR: The star is the halloumi. Fried cheese with lightly sweet crispy crust honeyed and topped with a light refreshing salad and pomenegrate seeds. Our server charmingly apologized she forgot to warn me about the codfish chili being potentially hot but I ended up trying and enjoying it, although I felt the fish was slightly overcooked. Not rubbery but a little too crusty and not flaky enough. I did not complain though because her dessert recommendation for malabi, a custard with oat crisps, was lovely. Nice to share with hubby and cap off the night. Temperature control: we sat somewhat near the front so were hit with cold air anytime someone entered. My husband is recovering from back surgery so walking was difficult for him. I appreciate he planned such a nice outing for us despite his walking challenges. All in all, we would return and explore cocktails and other menu items.
