We are new to the area and this was an amazing find! Probably the best Mexican food we have had in the triangle so far. I've never had chicharrons and they were very delicious, crispy on the outside and the pork belly the right amount of fatty to melt in your mouth. The guacamole with it was perfect. It might have been the best guacamole I've ever had. The consume was insanely flavorful and the birria in my taquitos was so tender and juicy. Our server and the hostess were both kind and helpful. They have indoor seating and an outdoor covered patio which was beautifully decorated and covered in plants. We stopped in here after our visit to Tacos Azteca, just down the street. Much like Azteca this is a rather plain spot, and also not built for comfort. We decided not to order the tacos as they were $14.99 for 3. Instead we ordered the Vegetarian Machete ($12.99) to share. A Machete is a rather large corn quesadilla that is folded in half and roughly looks like a blade, and can be filled with a variety of items. The Vegetarian Machete here is filled with cheese, pickled onions, peppers, cilantro, spring onions, and then topped with pico de gallo, more onion, and both a red and a green sauce, there was even a few pieces of grilled zucchini. Also on this plate was a grilled jalapeño, rice (with corn, peas, etc), black beans, wedges of lime, and some sliced radishes. This is a dish I'd never had before, but I will certainly have it again if the opportunity presents itself. Randomly found Cielito while visiting Burlington and so glad we stopped in. The ambiance is fun and unique! They have a nice enclosed patio area for additional seating. So I've passed this restaurants many times while visiting my Parents... I decided to stop to see what it was all about. I don't know what I expected, but the restaurant looked entirely different than what I imagined. Nothing bad, it just didn't look like what I thought. I was seated and could not find any nachos on the menu. That's really what I wanted and became slightly worried. When the waitress came over, she assured me they do have nachos. My only issue with that is, they don't have ground beef nachos, only shredded beef nachos.... I'm sorry, I don't want that. I ended up getting shredded chicken nachosb with a margarita. They were pretty good, however next time I would order the nachos with the chips on the side, because the chips became SUPER soggy. I also got a side of guac.. all in all, I'm definitely going back to try something different! However, we paid $55 dollars for what was suppose to be a box of tacos. We got a box with about 10 tacos in it. And i am talking street taco size. For the price, the meal was not worth it. The portion to quantity did not add up. We also ordered two horchatas, they were almost $16 dollars. The horchata was not sweet enough and did not have enough cinnamon. We sat out on the enclosed patio on a sunny late winter Thursday evening. Davíde helped us thru the menu (they offer ceviche and aquachiles, which apparently are much spicier.) We chose the Tropical Lime Shrimp ceviche, and it was delightful. I had a house marg, my companion had a Modelo Negra. Chips and salsa were on point. Service was attentive but never worrisome. We were in Burlington and looking for something to eat. We saw the positive reviews at Cielito and decided to stop in. My wife has always been a huge fan of Mexican food. I like it as well although it is not always my first choice. We pulled in the parking lot and saw they are located at the end of a small strip mall and in front of the Lowe's Home Improvement store. This was perfect for us because we needed to stop in there as well. On the end of the building we could see a nice outdoor seating area complete with plants and decorations. We entered the building and saw the sign stating they would seat us. The young lady began walking us to the outdoor area but because it was pretty hot outside, we told her we would prefer to sit inside. She chose a vacant booth and provided us menus. Our server stopped and brought us waters as well as a small basket of chips and salsa. We also placed our orders. My wife chose the Ultimate fajitas (steak, chicken and shrimp) with double rice and flour tortillas. I chose the birria pizza, I've heard of birria pizza and was anxious to try it. The chips and salsa were delicious. So delicious in fact that we asked for another dish of salsa because we were really piling it on the warm chips. YUM. The fajitas came out very quickly and were sizzling and huge! In fact, they could easily be shared by two people. My birria pizza arrived a couple minutes later and was also huge. I am normally a traditional pizza connoisseur with red tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni and other meats on a pizza crust. This appeared similar with the birria and cilantro on top but there wasn't much sauce. I couldn't taste the sauce or really see it. We both enjoyed our meals and would recommend both items. However, many of the menu prices for other items we saw (food and cocktails) seemed rather expensive when compared with other Mexican restaurants in the Triad. Today was first time visiting Cielito in Burlington. I drive by it all the time as I am in the area for work. It was so good! I loved the serve your own salsa bar. I ordered the five taco platter with beans and rice. The meat and flavor in each taco was divine. My favorite was the chorizo! It was delicious and had a perfect texture. Second time trying this place and it went a lot smoother than last time! We went for dinner again and they got rid of the confusion of order at the counter or at your table. We were seated by a server and everything was order at the table now. They also slightly re-did the menu. We were brought some chips & salsa after we sat down. Chips were warm and crunchy. I wanted to try the tacos this time around, but also have pizza too. And now their menu allows that! They have a dish that's half pizza & half tacos. However, you can only order the pizza & tacos shown on the picture in the menu - birria pizza and tacos al pastor. I wanted to pick a different pizza, but was told that's the only option for ordering this dish. The tacos were great. The tortillas were the best part. They tasted homemade and fresh! The pizza as a whole was okay. The crust was perfect, but the birria was overwhelming mixed with a big meaty dish of the tacos too. The other con of the dish is that the menu didn't advertise the price of it, so we didn't know until getting the check - I believe it was $24.99. Server was nice and brought waters when we needed refills. The music is way too loud in here, so it was difficult to have a conversation. I'd recommend sitting outside. After an afternoon of drinks down the road at Red Oak, we stopped by Cielito at the recommendation from some friends. When I heard Birria Pizza, I was in. We started with some chips and queso, which were good, wish there were a little more chips to come with the order though. As mentioned, when I heard Birria pizza I knew I had to order it. The pizza as a whole was good. The Birria meat was great, tender and full of flavor. The crust itself was leaving more to be desired. Not much flavor and a little too dry for my liking. If you want Fun go little later and they turn up the music, turn down the lights and it is like being in a club. Birthdays look like fun and you should atleast once get a drink. The Michelada was huge and added lime, cucumber and sauce. The FUNDIDO was good, and chunky for those that like onions and peppers. The service was okay, walked in and were not greeted. It seems like a seat yourself, but the sign said wait to be seated. We stood awkwardly beside an occupied table since there is minimal space to stand and wait. Music inside is loud and music videos are shown on a screen, which makes it feel like the entire place is a bar. We sat in the patio area and I have to say it was beautiful. We loved the plants and outdoor lights plus the music being toned down. Definitely recommend sitting outdoors if possible. Our waitress was okay and would check on us, but we had to request refills. Went through our entire meal and no refill. Not super friendly, and just to the point. Took our order and that was it, which is okay. Also Seeing another waiter across from us flirt with his table gave us an uncomfortable feeling. The food was okay, plus it was hot and came out within a few minutes. The pan bazo was not like the picture; Only a small touch of red sauce on the bread. Everything else was good. Overall, I can certainly say this restaurant is not family friendly. The service and food were okay, but the ambience was not it for us. Seems to us like it's a bar that offers food. This is currently my favorite place for Mexican food. I love their little variations on things and the sauces. I typically get the ultimate ACP. Friends has had the machetes and they too look good. It's too loud for me to sit inside but I really enjoy eating on the patio. Service is friendly and fast. They have a salsa bar so I do recommend trying different ones. I really like the booths they're super long and soft , it was super clean from the tables to the floor, the menus were nice and clean me personally I like when restaurants have menus with pictures especially when the menu is in a different language that's a great plus, our server was amazing she mad sure we we attended to right on point, the food looked how it looked in the pictures even when our server was attending other tables which was clear to see others attended to us.
