Bon Appétit

In Greensboro, a city whose downtown once had a "hamburger square" of burger joints and related entertainment, it seems appropriate, whenever possible, to try a cheeseburger. Most have been underwhelming, or inconsistent at best. Stumble Stilskins isn't bad. The burger is the smash burger style -- not always ideal, but pretty good when done nicely, as it is here. "Crispy on the edges" it specifies in the menu, and that is accurate. The meat is also well-seasoned and not dry. Excellent! The cheese is the proper yellow American. The fries, while not hand-cut (which is fine, in this case), have been fried nicely, in fresh tasting oil, and seasoned generously. So much attention to seasoning is really appreciated. The fatal flaw of the burger is that it is apparently served on a "brioche bun." The bun is large, agonizingly dense, and weirdly sweet. In particular, when it's doing battle with the slim carefully structured and seasoned smash burger patties, the heaviness and sweetness are extremely oppressively overpowering. Now, you may say, why didn't I just not eat the bun (which would've been good for the flavor, texture, and my caloric intake)? Well, if you are, as I apparently am, genetically 2/3 sheepdog, you have no choice but to rapidly eat everything in front of you. The atmosphere isn't bad. There's not much to it -- classic bar, but neat and tidy, with TVs and little tables here and there. Not really any nooks and crannies, even in the dimmer half of the restaurant. It would probably be even better if you were drunk. The bathroom was notably clean -- though I can't imagine how chaotic it gets when the place is crowded, since it's a single-occupancy. If you're seated at one of the high top tables, be prepared to be uncomfortably close to the mustachioed open mouth of what I think is Danny McBride.

Whenever you're looking for a great tasting burger.. go to Stumble Stilskins! It's always a hit and especially paired with a cold beverage. I went on a weekday and it didn't seem too busy at all. I was very satisfied with the service and friendly atmosphere. They have plenty of food options and different daily specials so you can count on some sort of discount. You will have to pay for parking on the street M-F until 6pm & it's free on the weekends.

Get the Buffy wrap, and thank me later. I'm a sucker for pimento cheese. Great people and food, fast service, and fun atmosphere

My family and I needed to grab some food before heading to a game and we stumbled across this place on our walk. We had rarely quick service and were able to grab some food and a drink. It's a really chill spot. We were here before the crowd came in for night time. It was pretty neat too with the art on the walls. We love Happy Gilmore!

We decided to stop by for a couple of drinks last evening. The service was good, and it wasn't terribly crowded yesterday. BTW, we liked the Xmas decorations along with the movie character adding a special touch to this bar lol. Staff was great and place was clean. We got lucky and found nearby street parking.

Omg! I love coming here during lunch, they are fast and reliable. The food is always delicious. I've come at not when I need to get a midnight snack as well and those burgers hit the spot!

Aesthetic: Local Bar and Restaurant with typical bar fare, a full bar, and unique decor. My Favorites: The Chicken Club. Experience: We stopped in late night on a hiking trip to Hanging Rock. The bartender was very hospitable, and let us know to order at the bar when we were ready. We tried the Chicken Club and Black Bean Burger, and they were both yummy. I wish the black bean burger was a bit crispier, as it had a tendency to fall apart. The chicken club was delicious, and felt more like a chicken BLT. I added honey mustard, and it was perfect. I'd definitely come back when we're not on a hiking trip, so we can try the wings and poutine. We look forward to trying more in the future.

Very pleased with me / our experience. The flank steak sandwich was exceptionally good. Robust flavor and texture. A bit salty so if have high BP may want to ask to lay off the salt. To me salt added to the other robust flavors of the Chimichurri / nicely cooked and amble amount of flank steak. Our waitress was excellent so pleasant and efficient. She noted that the flank sandwich "SAND-O" was her favorite item on the menu, I now know why. I got it spotnon for my first ever experience at this place. The place is larger (deeper) than I thought with two halves. Our half was geared more towards sit in dinning. The other side has a long bar, with plenty of tv screens and handles bar and dinning crowds. The themed walls and decor lend themselves to fun vibes. Also love the old building and it being on yhe corner in downtown Greensboro.

"Cheese" curds

I have nothing good to say about this place. From the over fried food, to the horrible drinks, to the low service. The chicken tenders came out looking almost black, they were so over fried. The cheese curds had no cheese in them... how, I don't know?! The spicy garlic parm wings are basically buffalo wings. Nothing about them comes across garlic or parm. The drink I had (spicy Mark-a-Rita) was very bland and watered down. There wasn't more than 10 people in the bar and yet service was slow. The environment is very dark and uninviting. Maybe during the evening this place is better, but on a Saturday afternoon it sucks.

I've been a local regular at Stumbles for years but always forget to write a review, so here I am!! The service here is always great. The bartenders are attentive, but be patient when they are busy. It gets really busy here sometimes. The main area has lots of bar seating and tables. They have draft, bottles and cans, as well as a full bar. Beer is always cold and the drinks are always on point. There's plenty of seating for an intimate date or a large group. There is also seating on the other side to the right. It's a lot bigger than it looks! The food is amazing. You would expect "bar food" and nothing fancy here, but the menu will surprise you. If you like corn, try the street corn ribs. They're amazing and nestled on a serving of the street corn salad. So goood! Recently I had the Lemmon pepper wings. Their wings are crispy and cooked to perfection. Very large wings, not those tiny bite size ones. The ranch is house made and I love honey lemon pepper wings, so they brought me a cup of honey to drizzle on them. The grilled chicken club was also good, and you can never go wrong with some crispy tater tots!!

Reuben with sweet potato fries

Yuuuuuum! For some reason, this place never showed up on my searches when searching for sandwiches, but DANG! I sure did love my Reuben! Got that with pastrami and some tasty sweet potato fries. We also got some nachos, which were also bomb. The wiiiings though, sheeeeeeesh! So freaking good. I've become a big wing girl now and I definitely enjoyed these to the max. Quality chicken (no yucky chewy stuff). Atmosphere was pretty cool as well, lots and lots and lots of TV's!! Ample space as well, there's two big rooms and plenty of seating options for either with friends or family. We went at about 6pm and it was absolutely bumpin' in there! Ordering is a bit funky as you need to go up to the end of the bar and put your order in with a server. Drinks were good and the food came out hot and quick! Definitely coming back here :)

Seating and additional TVs along side the bar area

This is a great location in the heart of downtown Greensboro. If you are catching a big game or just hanging out with friends, the atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming. There are TVs along the bar and throughout, so you never miss a play. The food options are elevated from your typical bar food which includes wings, burgers, sandwiches. So many items to try. The Buffy chicken burger was deliciously put together with a brioche bun and pimiento cheese. This spot is perfect for game day, a casual night out, or grabbing a drink before a show or downtown event.

This place was great for delicious, quick, bar food bite before we went to an event at the Tanger Center. Vibe is very laid back, bar scene. Lots of TVs with sports on. The guys enjoyed their draft beers and my lemon drop martini was delicious. Cheese curds were perfect with a delicious, creamy dipping sauce. I have no clue what it was made of but it was dang addictive. I got the It's So Gouda Burger that was good but nothing to call home about! Maybe just not my style, as I like more sauce than was on the burger. Other meals that our table got were the chicken club and the Great White Buffalo Bison Burger. The great white burger came with a delicious side of au jus and now I believe all burgers should come with that because WOW! Service was quick and polite! Orders were all served correctly. Definitely would stop by for a quick, informal bite before a Tanger Center show!

The third and fourth levels both offer outdoor space, with the third floor having its own bar and the fourth providing additional seating and city views. It's a great mix of spaces for pretty much anyone. The music really stole the show this evening. I arrived early and snapped a few photos before the crowd rolled in. Dear Sister rocked tonight. What an excellent cover band! I'll be seeing them often whenever they roll into town. The only thing holding this from being a 5 star night was the service. It was decent but noticeably slow even before the crowd showed up. Once things got busy, it became very hard to grab a drink or get anyone's attention, which is typical for a packed place but still worth noting. Overall, this is a super fun spot with great music and tons of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy. I'll definitely be back for more live shows or to hang out with family and friends on a nice day up on the rooftop areas.

The menu reflects this with cocktails, wine and beer and the menu is extensive on the beverages! The food menu is terrific and has so much variety and some really nice plates small and large. It was a theater night when we went and we had a 7.30 show to goto and our server knew that. We got there at 5.30 so figured that gave us the 10 mins to walk to the theater to be on time. We started off with some drinks. My friend loved her cherry ale and I really enjoyed my G&T , the glass it came in was just so unusual. The G&T took awhile to finally make it to me but i loved it. We ordered the tuna tartare and that was delicious and served up with fried green tomatoes which was a different take on it. Nice and fresh and nicely presented. Our entrees were the salmon for my friend and I had the Bahn mi chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Usually this sandwich is with pork so I wanted to try this. The service for our dinner took almost 45 mins we had finished the app awhile back and my grind had another drink and still we were waiting. It was closing in on 6.50 Pm and at this point we would be inhaling our food when it came and rushing out the door . It came at 7pm and the sandwich was good but they should mention on the menu that it has mayonnaise on it as I don't like that but there was quite a bit on the bun. Not typically in this type of sandwich so I wasn't expecting it. The chicken was a good and flavorful and lots of other veggie fillings and the fries were great. My friend really enjoyed her salmon and the risotto it came with. Just disappointed we had to eat it all so quickly and leave some so we could pay and leave. We had our eye on the lemon posset tart for dessert but we didn't have time . We just thought since the server knew we had theater tickets she would have been more on top of it. Yes they were busy as it was a show night but the place wasn't totally full. Seemed like no urgency when we asked how long the food would be as we had to leave soon. I'd maybe try this place again on a non show night, as I thought they had a great menu. I enjoyed the place just not the service as we barely made the show before the lights went down.

I kicked things off with the "Alex Old Fashioned," which I enjoyed. Brittani, however, took one sip and looked at me like I had just ordered dessert in a glass--so, your mileage may vary depending on your sweet tooth and relationship dynamics. Instead of going full tapa chaos, we opted for the $60 three-course route. The tomato soup was a solid opener--comforting, no notes. The burrata was... fine. It felt like it was one good drizzle of something sweet away from being memorable, but it never quite got there. Then the mains showed up and completely changed the tone of the evening. The burger and the gnocchi? Unreal. Like "briefly stop talking to your friends mid-sentence" good. Easily the highlight. Dessert was an empanada that landed squarely in the "we're already full but let's be polite" category. It did its job, but the stars had already been earned earlier. Shoutout to our server, Amanda--absolute legend. Cool, knowledgeable, and casually working on a full tattoo bodysuit, which somehow made me feel like I showed up to dinner wildly underachieving. She was fantastic. Bonus points: parking downtown was easy, and it wasn't packed, which felt like winning twice. All in all, Pangaea is a great spot--just a few tweaks away from 5 stars, but definitely worth the visit (and the gnocchi alone is reason enough to go back).
