Mark, our server, carefully explained the gluten free options and inquired about the dangers of cross contamination. He is a friendly, helpful, and clearly experienced server. We opted to drink Bodega Shop Fruit Punch with 10mg THC, and a specially made Lemon Drop. Our meals were delicious: Smash Burger (no bun), Steak Sando, and the Buffy Chicken Sandwich. I had the Mr. Bean Burger, minus the onions (even though I'm not a vegetarian) and sweet potato fries. Every morsel was delicious! I got the Tom F***ing Collins, substituting vodka. When we walked in we noticed the restaurant was busy it was a Saturday evening. There was a host he was looking at cameras in the restaurant and said they were full and we could walk around to see if there was a place at the bar for 4 people, handing us drink menus. As we walked we noticed a table off of the bar that had 3 people and was a table for 8 we asked if we could sit with them they said fine. We let the host know he said I cannot give you a food menus... no explanation just that he couldn't or wouldn't. At this point we were turned off and thought about just leaving. A bar tender came over and handed us food menus pretty much as we sat down and asked if she could get us something to drink. We ordered drinks figuring we could see how things went and decide on staying or leaving. She was super quick and as we were looking through the menu we really wanted to eat here so we decided to just order. The food was so good the bar tender was very attentive and the food came quickly. The atmosphere inside was a standard sports bar with a seated room area next to the bar room area. The bar had a Malort face wall which iykyk and several tvs playing different sports. I cannot say enough on how good the food was the poutine, the burgers, the Mac and cheese all delicious! In Greensboro, a city whose downtown once had a "hamburger square" of burger joints and related entertainment, it seems appropriate, whenever possible, to try a cheeseburger. Most have been underwhelming, or inconsistent at best. Stumble Stilskins isn't bad. The burger is the smash burger style -- not always ideal, but pretty good when done nicely, as it is here. "Crispy on the edges" it specifies in the menu, and that is accurate. The meat is also well-seasoned and not dry. Excellent! The cheese is the proper yellow American. The fries, while not hand-cut (which is fine, in this case), have been fried nicely, in fresh tasting oil, and seasoned generously. So much attention to seasoning is really appreciated. The fatal flaw of the burger is that it is apparently served on a "brioche bun." The bun is large, agonizingly dense, and weirdly sweet. In particular, when it's doing battle with the slim carefully structured and seasoned smash burger patties, the heaviness and sweetness are extremely oppressively overpowering. Now, you may say, why didn't I just not eat the bun (which would've been good for the flavor, texture, and my caloric intake)? Well, if you are, as I apparently am, genetically 2/3 sheepdog, you have no choice but to rapidly eat everything in front of you. The atmosphere isn't bad. There's not much to it -- classic bar, but neat and tidy, with TVs and little tables here and there. Not really any nooks and crannies, even in the dimmer half of the restaurant. It would probably be even better if you were drunk. The bathroom was notably clean -- though I can't imagine how chaotic it gets when the place is crowded, since it's a single-occupancy. If you're seated at one of the high top tables, be prepared to be uncomfortably close to the mustachioed open mouth of what I think is Danny McBride. read more

The bartender was very hospitable, and let us know to order at the bar when we were ready. We tried the Chicken Club and Black Bean Burger, and they were both yummy. Very pleased with me / our experience. The flank steak sandwich was exceptionally good. Robust flavor and texture. A bit salty so if have high BP may want to ask to lay off the salt. To me salt added to the other robust flavors of the Chimichurri / nicely cooked and amble amount of flank steak. Our waitress was excellent so pleasant and efficient. She noted that the flank sandwich "SAND-O" was her favorite item on the menu, I now know why. I got it spotnon for my first ever experience at this place. I have nothing good to say about this place. From the over fried food, to the horrible drinks, to the low service. The chicken tenders came out looking almost black, they were so over fried. The cheese curds had no cheese in them... how, I don't know?! The spicy garlic parm wings are basically buffalo wings. Nothing about them comes across garlic or parm. The drink I had (spicy Mark-a-Rita) was very bland and watered down. There wasn't more than 10 people in the bar and yet service was slow. The environment is very dark and uninviting. I've been a local regular at Stumbles for years but always forget to write a review, so here I am!! The service here is always great. The bartenders are attentive, but be patient when they are busy. It gets really busy here sometimes. The main area has lots of bar seating and tables. They have draft, bottles and cans, as well as a full bar. Beer is always cold and the drinks are always on point. There's plenty of seating for an intimate date or a large group. There is also seating on the other side to the right. It's a lot bigger than it looks! The food is amazing. You would expect "bar food" and nothing fancy here, but the menu will surprise you. If you like corn, try the street corn ribs. They're amazing and nestled on a serving of the street corn salad. So goood! Recently I had the Lemmon pepper wings. Their wings are crispy and cooked to perfection. Very large wings, not those tiny bite size ones. The ranch is house made and I love honey lemon pepper wings, so they brought me a cup of honey to drizzle on them. Yuuuuuum! For some reason, this place never showed up on my searches when searching for sandwiches, but DANG! I sure did love my Reuben! Got that with pastrami and some tasty sweet potato fries. This place was great for delicious, quick, bar food bite before we went to an event at the Tanger Center. Vibe is very laid back, bar scene. Lots of TVs with sports on. The guys enjoyed their draft beers and my lemon drop martini was delicious. Cheese curds were perfect with a delicious, creamy dipping sauce. I have no clue what it was made of but it was dang addictive. I got the It's So Gouda Burger that was good but nothing to call home about! So, my last review, way way out of date. I'm not even necessarily sure this bar is owned by a New England Patriots fan anymore. But if you're a fan of "The New England Patriots are a bunch of dirty cheaters" jokes from the DeflateGate era. You should still go read it for some humor. One of those jokes STILL holds true. The prices here are "not as inflated" as similar places around, and I would say over time in fact, the menu here has aged on me like a fine wine, or maybe a fine roast of a Tom Brady. My most recent stop, I was craving one of their delicious burgers. Like many places, they have started to adopt the more "Smash-ish" style of burger. I wouldn't describe it as full on smash with the lacey edges and lots of crispy bits, but it has clearly been pressed into a hot grill, leaving lots of brown goodness. The burger I had most recently was the "Stumbles Smash" and adorned with the special sauce, grilled onions, cheese, and bacon... it was really really good. It came with tater tots, and they were PERFECT. I asked for them crispy, they delivered. I could have eaten way more of them if they let me, good thing they give you a set amount (more than enough for normal people). I had good service at the bar, and the place was nice and clean. It was a weekend (and not during a major sports season), so it was not as jumping as it is during a weekday lunch rush. This is a popular spot for lawyers and jurors to get lunch when court has recess. I would return for sure. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are still dirty cheaters, even in retirement. read more

I have tried so many burgers in Greensboro and this is the closest burger that fills my craving. It is so good! The service is quick and we always enjoy sitting at the bar to watch all the sports games on the TVs. There are two sides of the restaurants which I like to say one side is the darker, somewhat dive bar side (which is the side I go to) and then there is the side that has a lot more light coming in from the windows and more of a traditional restaurant feel. When you're looking for a good bites late at night on a Wednesday, the market is surprisingly slim, even in the bigger cities of the triad. Of course there is some fast food, but sometimes you just want "real" food, am I right? We stumbled on down Market and came across this bar. It was an interesting setup with one half being mainly a bar, and the other half being table seating. When we arrived, we were told they had already stopped table service but we were able to order at the bar and sit over there. The bar half of the building is very loud, and as someone who doesn't like super loud environments, it wasn't my jam, but the open seating half was better: still loud, but we were able to have a conversation. We ordered a few draft beers from their good selection, and they were served fast and nicely poured. While they have a full bar, I do wish they had a short list of some "featured" cocktails because sometimes I like a good cocktail without it being difficult to order. We also ordered dinner, including wings and burgers. The wings were great! Huge, cooked just right, and very good flavors. The burger was likewise fantastic and it was huge, enough to have lunch tomorrow or share with someone. All told, a good place to stop on a late night in Greensboro, whether you're looking for alcohol, food, or both. read more

Well, I attempted to do this without attention to a star rating, but it seems I can't without adding a star rating. We arrived to the door around 3:30pm Saturday, April 18. We were passing through and did a quick search for a different burger joint to try. Unfortunately, despite all points of references of hours of operation pointing to you being open, the door was locked. No note in door explaining an unexpected closure. There were people sitting inside that door just stared at us. Didn't come to give explanation of why closed. So, we took our business to an already known to us burger joint in Greensboro. So what's a potential customer to rate you based on that experience? 1 star? Seems a bit unfair given the reviews we read about your burgers. The trend on social media is to do the dreaded 1 star. I'm not that kind of person. Perhaps you can correct this by assuring all points of reference have an accurate representation of hours and if closed unexpectedly, provide explanation on the door. read more

My first time here and I got a burger. I think this was the best burger I ever had, fries crispy AF. My friend got their Mac and cheese and it was cheesy and seasoned. We had their margaritas, which were made a little different. They were on tap so they were kinda carbonated and they add your flavor of choice. They were unbelievably delicious. I went recently after bar hopping ! Not only was the lemon drop martinis actual perfection , but the late night menu offered more than I thought it would. I indulged in cayenne wings and spicy garlic , ranch , and loaded fries. Everything was piping hot, well seasoned and crispy ! I love the artwork in this place! The different wall textures and colors make this spot a comfortable place to have a meal. Plus the wait staff is nice. This was my second visit to this restaurant. The menu has an array of option. I opted for the fried shrimp and tater tots. The tots were crispy! The shrimp was also tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, the wait time was significant. My team and I waited well over 30+ plus for our food in addition to waiting 15+ minutes for our orders to be taken. I understand that some businesses may be understaffed. I do think it's important to communicate with customers if staff members know there is going to be a longer than normal service time. read more

What is this place?? Yes, it's a bar and there's no doubt when you walk in. Music is loud and bartenders and staff hard at work. No real greeting but we figured it out fairly soon. The bartender handed us menus over the bar and told us to sit anywhere. The ambience is what you would expect. Dark and a little dreary even well before sunset around 7pm. This was our first time eating here. We were skeptical and then the food came! Wow!! This bar has unbelievably good food. This may look like regular bar fare with wings etc, but the prep and ingredients are high end for sure! All of their burgers are smash burgers except for one and I can't recall which one this was. Those that know smash burgers will appreciate this place for sure! I ordered the Gouda burger and man was it good. Brioche bun was delicious, like freshly baked, the burgers (ample amount, at least 8oz between the two patties), and cooked on a flat top to perfection with loads of flavor in the meat. Quality meat and seasoning and construct of this burger made it one of the best you'll find in Greensboro for sure!! Look out Hops! If Hops made a smash burger it may taste like this. The bacon was thick cut and 2 large pieces, the tomato was fresh, and loads of warm Gouda cheese was melting over the double patties. Grilled onions joined the flavor fest as well. I don't normally order onion rings and prefer the tempura battered kind. They tend to be oily with the batter so it's hard to find a good balance. These came with a seasoned breaded covering that was perfect and not oily. My wife ordered the chicken Philly and it too was fantastic and full of flavor and with perfectly cooked chicken with lots of provolone and peppers and onions. A lot of food with just the sandwiches, but we ordered the "seriously good quinoa salad" as a side and it is seriously good for sure! Man the flavor explodes in your mouth with the first bite. It comes warm and if you like wilted kale with some olive oil and spices you will absolutely love this dish. I recommend that you share it for the table as a healthy side! We had to eat something to make us feel healthy. Oh, the fries are great too. Food came out hot as well. Who would think that this level of food would be at this bar?? They need to get the word out and if they work on the aesthetics of this place and cater to some foodies, this place will be hard to get into for a quick delicious and low cost meal. I had a hard time finishing this burger and there was no way that I was leaving even a bite. How do they sell this for only $12.00?? I refer back to an earlier one of my reviews of Village Tavern and the $16 mess of a an excuse for a "gastric pub" burger they sold to me. It's like comparing a Peanuts comic to a Picasso! Go earlier for dinner before the bar crowd joins you. It was fine, but folks will stand next to your table when you're eating unless you're seated in the back, away from the bar. Hey, it's part of the experience. Save this when you just want to grab a quick bite and maybe walk a little bit afterwards. Safe area. You won't be dissatisfied. I also want to mention how reasonable their beer prices are as well. They have a great selection of beers on and off tap. I got a Peroni with an ice cold glass for $5.00 and my wife's Blue Moon was $4!!! What??? The staff was there when you needed them and gave you plenty of space. Stumbled across this gem on the corner of West Market and S. Green St. for a quick lunch break. We entered the restaurant/bar and you sit anywhere you like. High pub tables and the bar - they have a huge wall which separates the business so there is additional seating on the other side. Several tvs to watch the stories to football. The waiter was very kind and receptive. I ordered the chicken quesadilla with sweet potato tots and my coworker ordered the Fancy Grilled Cheese with fries. The food came out pretty quickly - steaming HOT!! Quesadilla = Amazing!! Sweet Potato Tots = Veryyyyy Good!! They were so good I ordered another helping to take home.
