I love this place and have been coming here since it was under previous ownership in River Forest. I've even purchased a humidor cabinet. I never had a problem with owners or staff. My daughter gave me a glass with a cigar holder on the side for Christmas and I wanted to try it out. The staff member told me I could only use their glasses. I bought glass service for myself and my son. I like to drink ice water on the side with my liquor. That would require two glasses. I was still told emphatically that I could ONLY use their glass. Good selection, walk-in humidor, plenty of stuff available on display. You buy by the box, you get a discount. At least I did. Because I'm awesome. Or maybe I was lucky and it's just how they do business. Anyhow, the proprietor is quite friendly. I know next to nothing about cigars, except what my relatives like in terms of flavor and brand. Not my favorite place. I went to this location with friends just to hang out .This was my 2nd trip is location. On the previous trip I purchased cigars, so on this trip I was gonna smoke one of the cigars I purchased. Within 5 minutes of sitting down I took out a cigar and this cha chi guy yells at me and asked me r u gonna smoke that cigar . He asked again and I told him, maybe. Now, I know proper cigar lounge etiquette is to purchase cigars which I did on the previous trip and I can see if I was a frequent moocher, but not the case, so why yell at me not knowing this. Secondly the cigar selection is limited. Thirdly it appears to be a place where they going to nickel and dime you to death ie.. coffee ,water ,pop. Cigar Oasis reminds me of Tony Soprano's back room at the Bada Bing. It's small, Cozy and full of Cigar smoke. If you built a Cigar room in your house, the layout of Cigar Oasis is what you would want to use as a blueprint. The front of the store looks like a small town Barber shop. There are chairs, ashtrays and a front counter full of accessories. The shop was filled with guys shooting the shit and enjoying their Cigars. The Cigar Oasis has a real comfortable feel to it and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The Humidor was filled with a wide variety of the best kept secret in the Cigar business. Gurkha is quickly becoming recognized as one of the best new Cigar brands on the market. Gurkha's are the talk of all my Cigar smoking friends. The only one that I could find so far is the Dragon. Cigar Oasis had the whole line in stock. I'm like a kid on Christmas eve. I can't wait to smoke all the different varieties that bought at the C.O. A nice variety, a welcoming atmosphere and a accommodating staff makes Cigar Oasis a welcome addition to my Chicago land Cigar buying tour. It's worth the trip for the Gurkha's alone. read more

You walk into this shop at anytime of the day and they are shooting the shit, talking about this politician and that one. current events are always a topic with everyone having a different opinion. The insults flow like its Highschool again.. The owners knowledge is plentiful and he is always willing to help someone who doesn't know exactly what they are looking for. The newly installed smoke filtration system makes it easy to sit and enjoy in comfort without swimming in smoke! Friendly staff answer customer questions and make great recommendations. Truly a fine selection of cigars in all price ranges. Friendly staff. Every month or so they throw a party. It's a good time to "stock-up" as they have great deals. Goni, the owner, is usually behind the counter and is very knowledgable of his selection, which includes a nice cross section of mainstream brands as well as some boutiquey smokes. Prices are not cheap, but fair, and you are always encouraged to sit on their big leather couch and enjoy whatever is on the tube or chew the fat.
