Cigar enthusiasts are spoiled in NH with world class places like Twins Smoke Shop, and very good spots like Ash and Rhino, but the weak spot is being on the small side and usually being slammed. Cigar Shenanigans is a palace. The staff is awesome, the bar and drinks are great... but the building is the gem. It seems like an old restaurant like Chilis or the 9s turned into a cigar lounge, while still being inviting and warm. You walk in and to the right is an awesome bar with plenty of bar stools. If you don't want to sit at the bar, you can take a step down and sit in sort of a green house vibe with good seating. Or you can go toward the back of the building where there are plenty of booths and lounge chairs. There are enough tvs to be entertained if you want, but not feel overwhelmed like you're at a sports bar.., which is where I think the new owners of the old Cigar Emporium up the road from Shenanigans went wrong. Plus it's in North Conway! Have your significant other drop you at Shenanigans on the way to the outlets! read more

Staff was nice enough for an early part of the day with nobody really here. The place does have potential, but missed in many areas. I brought a coffee I was finishing up from down the road and was told I needed to leave it in car, even though I purchased about 4 cigars here and only wanted to smoke one. Seems they only want you to buy their liquor here. Aside from being told my outside beverage wasn't wanted which I can understand to some degree, this place is cluttered with torn and ripped pillows and leather seats. Not a lot of pride is taken in keeping it looking decent it seems. Perhaps if you are a local they treat you better or you just wouldn't care about its upkeep. Don't live anywhere near here so I wouldn't be back but even if I did live here I wouldn't spend my time or money here. Plenty of others from out of town have posted reviews about terrible staff and negative experiences. I can see what they mean once I walked in and dealt with my own experience. read more

They have a fantastic walk in humidor with a huge selection of cigars and knowledgeable staff that will help you select the perfect cigar then you can go to the bar for a nice variety of mostly local beers on tap as well as scotch, whiskey, bourbon and much more as well as their own vintage of Woodford, Jack Daniels & Whistle Pig. You can sit at the nice size & comfortable bar where you can make new friends or watch sports ot classic movies or they have several areas with comfortable seats where you can socialize with your friends. My girlfriends and I stopped in trying to have a drink on our trip, we were pleasantly surprised by how much Shenanigans had to offer. We were greeted by the owner who was so friendly, given a little tour of the beautiful, spacious, and comfortable establishment, and got our drinks (reasonably priced and delicious). Amazing vibes, no judgement for the 6 ladies who had never smoked a Cigar, Valentino helped us pick a few cigars and laughed with us. My Husband and his groomsmen came in here and had a blast before they had to get ready for the wedding. I was told that they made a mean espresso martini and boy were they right. This place is amazing! I walked in and was completely wowed. I was very impressed by the amount of detail that was put in. We had a blast talking with Valentino. In fact that was a major selling point to my husband; he knew I'd get along great with him as we are very like minded. He is great at friendly banter and enjoys to talk. Solid 5 stars. The owners work the whole place. One tends bar and the other works the front when you walk in the humidor. The humidor was filled with any brand I could want and not at crazy prices either. I picked my cigar had a nice chat with the owner who told me if I was going to have a drink I could add the cigar to my bar tab. So off to meet owner 2. Awesome guy who was running a good size bar. He said I looked like "Ray Donavan" so he gets 5 plus stars now lol I had 3 nice pours of Makers Mark and finished my cigar. On the way out I bought a golf shirt and a coaster his wife made. Wish I could give 10 stars!! This place is always our first stop in North Conway we can't get enough . I don't smoke cigars but from going with someone who does they have a great selection to pick from . Drinks are incredible and many different options to pick from. The staff really is what keeps us coming back . The Cowboy at the bar is a hoot and load of fun he has us laughing till we leave . Fortunately I stumbled up one this great cigar lounge while staying in the area. The best selection of cigars I have ever seen. Great sitting areas and full stocked bar. I see many comments about having rude staff here. From what I have experienced and seen, it has all been playful banter that may be called teasing. For the snowflakes out there, try throwing some playful banter back instead of being insulted. You might get a chuckle and a free drink. This is a routine stop of mine every winter as I travel North to ski. The selection is fantastic, there being common cigars all the way up to boutique ones. I found this place while riding up in the White Mountains for a couple of days, a great place to get out of the heat after a long morning blasting about & obligatory Mt Washington visit. Bartender is a complete chauvinistic a-hole. Here for a wedding, came the previous night and spent a lot of $$$. One of our female members of our party was asked to leave because she was helping her sister get a safe ride home (who wasn't allowed in because "she was too emotional"), and because of her "attitude", wasn't let in. We had a great first night with our bar tender Ben. Tonight was a completely different experience (Ben wasn't behind the bar) The treatment we experienced was uncalled for and a serious male power trip. This place is fine if you want cigars, but the only reason they get any business is because they're the only ones open past 10pm in this area. Beneath the towering White Mountains lies a cavernous sanctuary for brothers and sisters of the tobacco leaf. The best part is, shenanigans are strongly encouraged. Panelled in warm wood and extending in depth beyond my wildest imagination, this expansive bar and lounge tickled all of my fancies. The welcoming purveyor, Valentino, could not have been more hospitable and within minutes I felt he was a long-lost uncle (still possible, unconfirmed). The bar is bathed in a much appreciated natural sunlight, something often missing from cigar lounges, and features an open seating environment with a full alcohol array. As you wander through Shenanigans, the place opens up into a sweeping oasis of comfort, sporting couches and chairs of all shapes and sizes. This truly is a place you could bring many people, get into all forms of shenanigans, and have ample room to do so. Other features include poker tables, a patio, and weekly events. Randomly prevalent to a strong degree is imagery from the FXX animated series Archer, which they screen weekly as it airs. I wish I'd gotten the opportunity to inquire further about this odd union, but I suppose if I owned a bar I'd screen Lost every week whether people liked it or not (Dharma Initiative toros for the boys). If you love dogs, Shenanigans is also dog friendly, including a house pupper (see images) who naps in the smoke-hazed beams of light streaming in from the arched windows. Masks are NOT required at this location. We were told repeatedly we did not to have wear masks. Staff was NOT wearing masks. There were dogs walking around, but they were quiet, not bothering anyone. I Went with a diverse group of five people, we were a mix of business owners and professionals within various fields, all responsible citizens and family oriented people. We went to this cigar lounge to happily spend our money at this place. But unfortunately ended up leaving within 3 minutes because the lady that greeted us (older white lady with glasses), was incredible rude and mean, and if im honest gave me the impression of being racist. I don't succumb to this behavior, which is born out of hate and ignorance, so after her rudeness, which happened twice, I decided to leave and we all did just that. I will NEVER return to this place and I will make sure all my colleagues, friends and family know about them and my experience there. I don't know how she treats regulars, but if you're from out of town and don't look like her ( you know what I mean), then don't go there, or go at your own risk. This lady is HORRIBLE and by extension so was our experience at Cigar Shenanigan. Visited with a Bachelorette party of non-cigar smokers. They were very welcoming and babied us through picking out cigars and getting us comfortable. The space is gorgeous and bright. My wife and I headed up north for a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary. We just adopted a beautiful dog from Aruba and didn't want to leave him with anyone so we decided to stay at a pet friendly Airbnb in North Conway. Our first night there we noticed Cigar Shenanigans on our way up and figured we would stop in later and grab a couple of cigars. We were greeted by the owner Penny and her dog Winston and were told they were a pet friendly establishment. We couldn't wait to go back the next night with our pup Romeo. We ended up staying there almost til close. The dogs played most of the night and we enjoyed the company of both Penny and Valentino (the owners) who made us feel right at home. They have an amazing space with the most comfy couches, a full bar with plenty of beers on tap too! Cigar selection is amazing and the owners are very knowledgeable and helpful with finding you what you like. They are the only establishment in that area that keeps the bar open til 1AM.
