Anyhoo, I'd heard they do breakfast for the public and that there may possibly be new owners so we went back to give it a. Try. We walked past the front desk with an old man on the phone who didn't even look up. Then we wandered around looking for the host stand while some old lady vacuumed. No greet, no welcome, she just kept vacuuming while we tried to figure out how to get a table. No one bothered to help, say hello or even acknowledge that they could see us so we left. Seriously, forget this place. They clearly don't care to stay in business. Update: just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind after this response, it literally says breakfast on your sign by the road and you have a breakfast menu on your website. My bf and I were planning a date night and he suggested we go to a cocktail lounge at one of the old Inns in the area. We were going to get drinks, and then head over to our reservation at a different restaurant. Upon entering the building, we found the lounge and were greeted by a hostess, who informed us we could sit anywhere. We chose a cozy-looking rounded couch near the fire. When I sat down, I noticed the table in front of us was covered with drinks from a previous party. There was also a menu left over from them. I decided to ignore this and we picked up the menu to look at what drinks they offered. I wish I could say something about what the drinks tasted like or their quality, but the only thing we consumed here was the air we breathed. We were pretty much ignored the entire 20-30 minute period that we sat on that couch. The only sort of acknowledgment we got was from a girl that came in with big plates of food, asking different patrons if they ordered the meal she was holding. She asked us and two other groups before walking out with the food. I understand how busy it can get, and I would have been okay with waiting longer if we had been greeted by the bartender. Saying something like "Hey guys, I'll be right with you." May seem small and insignificant, but it lets the customer know that you see them and will be back to take care of them. We ended up going to The Wentworth, where they also have a bar/cocktail lounge. The waitress was very busy running around with plates, but she said hello and made us feel welcome. Ever since we went to Stonehurst Ive been reading over reviews, and there are so many things I was shocked to see. The price of a stay is way too expensive for the type of feedback this place is getting. I hope things change so that people can enjoy this historic location once more. read more

Pro's: DELICIOUS DELICIOUS FOOD, grilled prime rib was so so so good and potatoes and vegetables..... staff so friendly, it was QUIET a fireplace and jacuzzi tub were wonderful and a great getaway. Con's: Bed/comforter should reflect the charm of the place... comforter was modern and no bed skirt is weird to see under the bed as a few dust bunnies were present. We've been fortunate to visit Stonehurst several times over the past 15 years, and our early experiences left us absolutely enchanted - the beautiful grounds, the attention to detail, and the peaceful atmosphere made it a favorite escape. This week, we booked a last-minute stay after an unexpected opening in our schedule. We were excited to spend 24 hours together in a place that once felt so special. While we did enjoy our time as a couple, I wanted to share some candid feedback in hopes it might be helpful for future guests. The library had a strong musty odor that made it difficult to relax before dinner. The rug felt worn and dusty, causing sinus issues. the bartender, was friendly and made excellent drinks. However, his appearance was quite casual, at first glance, I assumed he was kitchen staff. In contrast, previous staff presented a much more polished and professional image. At dinner, I was surprised by the limited salad dressing options of blue cheese, onion, or Caesar. We also didn't receive bread, and overheard another table having to request theirs. The clam chowder was served cold, and the overpriced haddock entrée was underwhelming. The lobster topping tasted canned, and the rice was dry. The air conditioner was blasting directly over my seat, making the meal uncomfortable. Additionally, the dining room was only half full, yet tables were sat so close together that we could hear every conversation around us. We had hoped for a more private experience, especially since this was our first getaway alone in years. The rug in the dining room was also in poor condition with edges exposed, carpet tacks visible, quite sloppy. The room itself was pleasant, and we appreciated the recent updates. However, the rug should be removed, and the description of the view was extremely misleading. I chose this room specifically to enjoy the outdoor space and mountain scenery, but the view was obstructed by a dirty roof and tent. It should be labeled as such to avoid disappointment. The room had a very small lock on the door and lacked basic amenities, no coffee station, no mirror outside the bathroom. The lobby also didnt have coffee available in the morning to bring back to the room or enjoy in the now oddly placed Adirondack chairs outside. The grounds appeared neglected. The hillside was overgrown with brush, and old pine needles covered the outdoor structures. It lacked the manicured charm we remembered and felt more forgotten than serene. Breakfast was unfortunately another low point. Our server mentioned it was his first day, and while we were understanding, he forgot our cream and sugar multiple times. The coffee was so bitter we couldn't drink it. His assistant was dressed in a brewery t-shirt, shorts, sneakers, and a fleece, more appropriate for a hike than a manor breakfast. Our table lacked a proper tablecloth, and we ate off a plastic cover. My silverware had food caked into the grooves, which was disgusting. We truly hope the Manor can return to the level of excellence that once made it so special. read more

Our favorite part of the Manor is the lounge. There's a mixture of guest. Most are from out of town and are staying at the manor, but there's a lot of locals also. We enjoy the drinks, but mostly we enjoy meeting and visiting with other people . One night they were so booked that they restricted those who could come into the lounge as to just the guest of the manor. This is our fourth year to stay at the Manor. It's number one attribute is that it is vintage. That's very unique. The age of the manner is also its greatest weakness. The furniture is old and well used, and it shows. Much of The carpet is old and dirty. We think management could do a lot better job keeping this beautiful building in better shape. We spent a half a day visiting other hotels and Inns in the community. As much as we like Stonehurst, we may not return next year because of the poor condition and we were very unhappy with our small room on the third floor. They do not have an elevator. We do want to mention something about the staff. If The staff is here next year, they will be a real pull to attract us to return. Top notch people. We stayed for a week. Dinning in the same restaurant twice a day gets old. However, the food and service are good. read more

Problems in the kitchen are one thing, but water, a glass of wine and salad (which are premade) are inexcusable. Our room smelled like a barn and the bathroom was not very clean. Food was excellent as well as the service for the first and second days was excellent on the 3rd morning the waitress was to lazy to add two place settings and made us move. This would have been ok if the place was busy but there was only one other table eating at the time. As for the grounds they are in a sad state never saw it like this in our previous stays very disappointed. The house keeping is also lacking as there was hair in the tub and sink and room didn't look like it was vacuumed. We live out of state and all of our communication was over the phone or through email. Theresa was always on top of everything!! Theresa, answered every question, gave extremely professional advice and guided us through every detail. She paid such great attention to our plan that when the morning went off track, she jumped right in and helped put things to exactly how they were supposed to be. We went to the Wild Rose for the Christmas Day dinner. It was not worth the trip. Our prime rib orders were both raw: My medium was medium rare, and my husband's medium rare was rare. The risotto was crispy. Waitress was no help at all. She did not care if we had a good experience. Never asked if we wanted drinks, left huge black binder drink menu on the small table the entire time, did not bring out a spoon for the lobster bisque, so I had to take a spoon off the next table for dessert. Which made her angry and she practically slammed a new spoon on that table. It's such a shame, because our last trip there in early July of 2023 was the total opposite experience. It was wonderful. I looked into this change and it appears the business was sold late July 2023 and the general manager and office manager retired. The new owners are now advertising an experience they cannot fulfill, and their staff just don't seem to genuinely care. Check into this yourself before you make a reservation. read more

We have been coming here to Stonehurst for years every December. This stay was shock and awe for us. We missed last year due to military requirements and so this year when we arrived, we were greeted by all new staff. Vibe was very different from the get go. Front door was closed and uninviting, just different. Staff was polite enough upon arrival., although there was absolutely no one to be found upon checkout. The personal charm is gone. You can feel the change from the feeling of family to the colder corporate style weight. We were shocked when we got to our favorite room, where there used to be a beautiful four post antique style bed which had been replaced by a boring hotel frame bed. If I wanted a bed from the Holiday Inn I would go there and pay half the price. It completely took away from the romance of the room. One of our most favorite things to do here is to get a drink or two before dinner in the lounge by the roaring fire. The patrons had to keep asking for logs as there was no one around to keep it going. The bartender was a super sweet girl but the management was fully aware she needed help and couldn't be both the waitress and the bartender. It wasn't fair to her. We along with everyone were waiting for minimum 30-60min for a drink. If you want to go visit for a drink, I would suggest Sunday when it is more quiet. You will have a better experience. In the lounge we had the scallops and bacon. The scallops were very wierd/mushy, but Dinner and breakfast overall was very good (short ribs are amazing $54) but if you aren't staying it is very $$$ Waitresses were great. The final straw for us was the price gouging. The total price to stay has almost DOUBLED. We were shocked. So, If you used to come when Mike the bartender and Heidi the "hostess -of-everything" were here, you will instantly feel the lack of personal touch and care. Nothing against the staff, they are doing the best they can with what they are given. This was our last stay unfortunately and it was just always something we always looked forward to every year for the past 10+ years. Terrible experience! Absolutely disgusted. Find a different hotel! Did not take the room and still lost the total cost ($1070!) of a three-night stay! There are only a few rooms accessible without climbing stairs, which we requested due to a walking disability. We had no idea when we booked, that these the so-called "Mountain View" rooms are ridiculously tiny and totally antiquated. They include no modern-day amenities (AC, Microwave, Fridge, Coffee Maker, phone), are very old and low class. They are on the backside of the hotel, ground level adjacent to the employee and delivery entrance, and the view is a parking lot shared with the maintenance building and staff parking. $356/night! Not worth $50/night. If you book one of these rooms, ask to see a photo of the outside entrance and the "mountain view" through the single tiny window. The interior photo shown on the website is grossly misleading. We were looking forward to a 4-day stay in North Conway planned over a year ago. After dining at the Wildrose restaurant several times in the past few years we thought the stay at the Inn would be a great experience. We were so disgusted with the room we decided to cancel the entire trip, turn around and drive 100 miles back home. Unfortunately, we paid our balance prior to seeing the room. BIG MISTAKE! The clerk was polite but informed us that they were not allowed to issue any refund (of course not). Promised us that the manager (Mike) or owner (JJ) would call and get this settled. They never called. We had to initiate the call and finally spoke with Mike that evening after returning home. He had not an ounce of understanding or empathy and basically told us there was nothing he would do for us. Had the audacity to tell us are only option was to return to the hotel and stay in the room. Terrific! He refused to issue ANY refund even though we did not use the room or have any of the included meals. Although we do not think the room is "as advertised" we agree to forfeiting the $357 security deposit, deciding not to stay is the same as a "no show" or last-minute cancellation. This is certainly more than fair. Shame on us for not exercising due diligence and discovering beforehand what a low class and poorly managed facility it is. However, the balance paid ($714) on arrival should absolutely be refunded. We have since left messages for and emailed the manager/owner. They refuse to respond. We have filed a dispute with the credit card company and filed a complaint with the NH Better Business Bureau. We have also contacted an attorney, and soon will be filing a claim in small claims court. This is ridiculous! read more

We just left the 2023 New years dinner!! $99 each for the dinner as advertised. When you get the bill, they added the tax and the free salad for $11 that was offered to given us for free. One meal had the filet mignon and the other was lobster pie. The meat was just prime rib with sauce over it. Total of $12 dollars with of food, tax, cold mashed potato's, 3 small stuffed mushrooms and a sangria that we couldn't drink because it was so bad. The waitress wasn't much better. Here again. Room 34 this time. I like this room. On the third floor, so it is a little bit of a track up the stairs. But once you're in here? It's like your own little oasis. Downside? It's very cold out today. The room is a little drafty. A little on the chilly side, but we have a fireplace if I want to light a fire. So that is a plus. There's all new staff here at eating times. I guess we haven't been here for a while. Not sure. However, incredibly attentive. Rohan was our waiter for both dinner last night and breakfast this morning. Absolutely adorable and bending over backwards to help us. He needs a big fat raise because he's just a wonderful addition to the Stonehurst Manor crew. Nope. Went by for dessert and drinks to celebrate my SO's birthday after a wonderful dinner at Tuckerman's Tavern. We definitely should have stayed there. We went to the lounge/library area, which they call a "martini bar". It has a beautiful, large fireplace, carved wood bookcases and great leather chairs. There is also an area with a large, half-round couch and 2 leather chairs on wheels. A prime spot to sit and watch the fire. I turned one of the chairs around and my SO sat on one outside the couch area. I have always sat in this area when visiting Stonehurst Manor for drinks. There were only 2 gentleman sitting in left side of the fireplace having drinks. The rest of the lounge was empty. I asked the hostess if there were menus for drinks and desserts and she said no, the bartender would tell us. We later found a 2-page document on the coffee table that I can only describe as something that may have been printed in 1970 and reprinted, and reprinted, etc. I couldn't read it at all. Our first interaction with the bartender was him letting us know we were welcome to sit anywhere, except the couch since it was reserved for large parties. I proceeded to sit at one of leather seats opposite the couch. The bartender came over again and admonished me that if a large party comes, he'll have to ask me to move. I said "Of course!" He told us about the desserts and they all sounded great. I asked for decaf coffee and before I could finish my sentence, he cut me off and said they only had a Nespresso machine and they didn't have decaf. My husband said, "Maybe tea?" The bartender said "Yes". After I asked what type of decaf tea, he stated that they had Lipton & herbal. I asked what type of herbal tea. He said he'd have to get the box. I just said I'd have regular coffee, my SO a whiskey and the carrot cake. The tea question and my sitting in the chair near the "reserved" couch apparently put him over the edge because I could hear him sighing as he walked away. I imagine there was an eye roll but I can't confirm. The fireplace is huge and there were burning embers & no wood in the pot to add to the fire ourselves. The hostess, whom the bartender stated to two new customers had been there "when they built the place", came over to check on the fire. She returned with a quarter log and added it to the fire. We & the 2 gentleman had a good laugh at how they must be rationing the wood as one tiny log in the gigantic fireplace was really funny. The Stonehurst Manor holds some very special memories for me. I had my first wedding there and although that didn't last, the great memories have. I'd been there before I got married and since it ended and have always enjoyed it. Their prefriteroles were always my favorite. I have a new memory of the Stonehurst and it's not a good one. I don't know what it was but my perception of his behavior is that he didn't want us there or was having a bad day or didn't appreciate the lack of customers or something else. I felt it was extremely rude to talk about the hostess' age in such a derogatory manner. Did I mention we were there on a very cold, Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm? My SO and I finished our drinks and left the carrot cake (the frosting was not cream cheese and tasted like crisco). We spent one night at Stonehurst Manor on Sept 28, 2023. Unfortunately it was not a good night. On Sept 27th after making the reservation with Hannah I was assured I'd receive a confirmation email later in the day which included our dinner confirmation at their Wild Rose restaurant. Later that day I called and again was assured I would receive confirmation. The following day I called again... this time to ask what time we were to check in as we received no confirmation. We arrived at 4:30 to be notified there was no reservation on record for our dinner. We took a later reservation. Our room was not as described on the reservation site. The web photo shows a bright room with high back green chairs and a bright colored bedspread. Our room was dark, dull and had an overwhelming smell of cleaning chemicals. The green chairs were replaced with torn vinyl old chairs. The mattress was old and sagged in the center. There was no room available for us change our room. The bathroom sink did not work. No hair dryer or iron/board in room but were available if requested. Upon checkout I spoke with Alex who indicated he was the new owner. He listened to my comments and said he was sorry to hear them. I waited one week before posting a negative review. I was hoping the new owner would see the room as we did and compensate us. That did not happen. The Wild Rose restaurant was very good and we enjoyed both our dinner and morning breakfast. My husband and I do not recommend Room 8 at the Stonehurst Manor. read more

All I can say is that Stonehurst is one of my favorite places - ever. I grew up going to North Conway as a kid but never had the pleasure of staying at Stonehurst. Recently I have stayed twice and it's more magnificent then I could ever explain. This place is different then anything you'll ever experience. The property is impeccable and they sometimes fun deals where if you stay certain nights you get dinner and breakfast included! But not just any dinner and breakfast, absolutely fantastic meals that would normally be very expensive. All the rooms are so unique and have their own special feel to them. The bar downstairs is so cool and when the fire is going and you have all the books around you in the lounge, you feel like it's something out of a movie. I can't recommend enough staying at this magical place. You won't regret it. read more

Loved this place. Sure it's older, but it wasn't dirty or run down. The views were great. We dined outside and had a great view there too. The check in staff were friendly (this includes a cute hound). Normally at hotels i get f****d when i try their prime rib, but this place did a great job! Not sure if the restaurant was its own separate business or not, but it was great. Also, close enough to the "Main Street" area where all the shops are. If you leave there early enough, parking downtown wont be so bad. Next time I'll Uber so i can have a few beers while I'm out there. Would stay again. read more

There's a lot to love about Stonehurst Manor, where a friend and I chose to stay when we took part in the Mt. Washington Valley Chocolate Festival. It was in a perfect location to access the trails, the restaurant was excellent, service was friendly, and the lounge was cozy and comfortable. The room (#3), however, was a different story. I could not sleep for three reasons: (1) Paper thin walls. The floors above creaked loudly with every movement my neighbors above made, and I heard way too much of their conversations and those of my adjacent neighbors. (2) We could not control the heat in the room. (3) Most disturbing of all was the perfumy, disgusting smell of the sheets... it was impossible to escape. As if that weren't enough, the room was not clean. When looking for an outlet on the wall under the bed I saw what I wish I hadn't - a collection of dust and dirt that must have been there for years. The grout and corners in the bathroom also had not been touched in a very long time. The bathroom didn't have a fan. On our back porch was an old wine bottle and glass from a previous guest. I was so looking forward to my stay at Stonehurst, but needless to say, I will not be back. read more

Stayed one night November 1st had a great dinner had drinks in the bar. Husband had them bring a bottle of champagne to Room. Upon waking up in the morning realising my makeup bag with brand new $200 worth of makeup is missing. Not wanting to blame anyone immediately searched Room thoroughly twice. Went down to the front desk twice no one was there. Left our keys in the Room left contacted front desk via phone was told they would look for it but they don't think anyone would do that. Having not received a call back I called the owner today the 4th she proceeded to tell me very rudely I never went down to the front desk twice she was there the entire time which is not true if she has cameras she could see that.I explained how upset I was that the makeup was Stolen... she proceeded to Tell me her employee would never do that that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I left with an unpaid bill of $48. I explained to her the bill was paid I have the bank statement please give me your email and I will send you a copy of the statement she said I don't want your email and I've done with this conversation. Apparently the owner doesn't care about her business or rectifying the situation so immediately she tries to say that we left owing money and gets off the phone. read more

The old manor is quirky, not elegant. I might consider this charming if the staff provided good service and positive attitudes. Waits are long for everything, service is slow and staff members often complain about the place within earshot of customers. The Hostess was very negative. One of those people who answered customers with what she couldn't do (and the list was extensive), not what she could do. The food was disappointing as well. The entrées were passable but the sides were lukewarm and rubbery. Same goes for breakfast. Stayed on the 3rd floor which we were led to be believe were nicer rooms. Again, quirky but certainly not elegant. Awful mattresses and lots of cobwebs. Kludgy repairs like a couple leftover tiles crookedly thrown up behind the sink to act as a backsplash. I'll finish by saying I'm surprised by the amount of glowing reviews for the manor, especially since the negative reviews all experienced the same issues we did. I can only surmise that it comes down to folks who have stayed at truly nice places vs. those who have not. if you've stayed at nice places before and know what to expect, prepare to checkout early if you find yourself at Stonehurst Manor. read more

This is a review for dinner on the patio: the hotel itself is beautiful. Check in service was a bit abrupt but fine. Our servers were masked and friendly, though a bit slow. The view over the mountains was superb, and the food was nothing very original, but executed well. Our main complaint was the 2 very loud couples behind us in the tent who got looks from everyone else in the dining room. So happy we stopped in here for Martinis and dinner the other night. The bartender mixed perfectly chilled, refreshing, monstrous sized Sapphire Gimlets for us while we waited for dinner at the Library Lounge. Fast forward to dinner, we were pleasantly surprised that they had the BOGO free entree special on Thursday nights. I ordered the beet salad to start and went for the lobster beggar's purse and the trio crab cakes appetizers (2 apps = 1 entree option) as my entree. Beet salad - Standard starter with garden fresh greens. Lobster beggars purse - a must try at 5 stars. Airy light crispy phyllo shell with savory lobster filling. Yummm... Crab cakes appetizer - just A-ok at 3 stars. A bit overcooked and a little too much breading but it was sufficient. Overall, great Martinis and awesome deals on certain nights. Overpriced place to stay, rooms like 1 star motel. I am hearing neighbors from above from left and right sides the same time. There are no coffee machine, no fridge. Extra kid cost $275 for 2 nights. Restaurant by reservation, no chance to reschedule. Update: it really depends on the room. Possible some rooms better than others, which is not clear from website. Update 2: you will have Motel experience with prepaid good restaurant. See the room numbers in descriptions 1-10 rooms are out date. It is good enough if everything else is booked. My family and I have been coming here for 20 years. Recently, when we have gone in, the woman who runs the lounge with the long hair has been rude and incredibly unfriendly. She has worked there for years and I remember her as a kid. She was never friendly but bearable. We went in a couple of months ago and saw her again where she informed us the lounge was open to the public we could not go in because there were too many hotel guests. Weird as this had never happened to us before. Again, she was incredibly rude but thought we would try again as we love the atmosphere there. We tried going again this past Saturday at 3:00. Same woman at the lounge told us we could not go in because "there were no children allowed during vacation week". I said I had called ahead that day to check on their policy. She would hear nothing of it and when I asked if we could sit somewhere else she interrupted me and told me no. Frankly, her rudeness shocked us/was embarrassing to our party (even though we knew she was always rude but this was next level). My daughter felt weird and embarrassed. So did I. I didn't want to make a scene so I called after we left asking for the manager or owner. Here's the kicker. When I called and started to explain the situation and ask what the policy was AGAIN, I was told I was a liar and that I made everything up. That, "she (the woman at the front) would never say that to me.". I asked how she would know what was said to me. The entire conversation I continued to be interrupted and was told I was a liar. I expressed that I had been coming there for 20 years with my family and that we love it and that I just wanted to understand what the policy was so we could actually go in and enjoy the lounge. Repeatedly, I was interrupted and never once a thank you for coming to their establishment for years. We have spent a ton of money there and just expected some sort of clarification on policy or why my child was not allowed to enter. If the woman at the front would have told us it was full we would have understood but that's not what was said. I suggested that she, the woman on the other end of the phone, she, who would not reveal her name to me, check in with her employees to see if this was said. She would not and continued to insist I was lying. She, the woman on the phone got so heated and would not hear me out that I ended up hanging up because I couldnt speak. That's how much she was raising her voice and speaking over me. Here's my take. I do not know the person I spoke with on the phone as they would not introduce themself. But I can tell you this. They don't give a shat about your experience or how you feel. I don't understand it. They are in hospitality. I will never walk through their doors again. And, I will make sure that everyone I know, knows about it. I will take down all mentions or nods to them on social media from my past. Stonehurst, you STINK and made my entire family feel like GARBAGE REPEATEDLY. And, to the woman who owns the lounge experience, I think your name is Heidi, you remember me, you have remembered my face since I have been a kid. I would have expected more from you, more of a decent human touch. Then again, you seem incredibly unhappy. I'm done with trying again. read more

Very quaint Manor. Set perfectly in North Conway(close to all that you need to see and do). The Manor has a lot of history behind it, which made it perfect for an adult only getaway. They have condos on site that they also rent for families. Only complaint was service at restaurant Wild Rose. However, breakfast and dinner are both included in the cost of the room. Again perfect for an adult getaway, but families are welcome. read more

A two-night stay gave us 4 meal opportunities to critique this wonderful gem in the White Mts. The food recommendations from a friend were THE reason we chose to stay here, and we were definitely NOT disappointed. Service the first night left a slightly sour note, but thankfully we didn't see that waiter the following 3 meals. Where to start with the food though? Meal 1: 2 appetizers paired with a salad were more than enough for my appetite on a summer night. The crab cakes were full of the taste of crab, not fillers, and the *3*!! accompanying sauces were a wonderful complement to the flavor. The Lobster Beggar's Purse had more lobster than some lobster rolls at a summer shack, and the puff pastry was perfectly flaky. The truffled tenderloin was a generous, thick-cut portion cooked to perfection and accompanied by wonderful garlic mashed potatoes and fresh summer zucchini. Meal 2 & 4.. Breakfast could have kept us going until dinner both days! Fritatta of the day had delicious summer tomatoes, the New England breakfast came with wonderful homemade baked beans as well as HOMEMADE griddled english muffins, the monte cristo had divine fresh roasted ham & turkey not to mention sinfully delicious HOMEMADE french toast and most important to this New England girl, REAL maple syrup (why anyone serves fake stuff in New England is beyond me!) And I forgot to mention, the fresh fruit cup in lieu of juice if you like.. the cup is so full it could be breakfast for some! And Meal 3: dinner night 2 made up for the disappointing service of our waiter the previous night the wine I chose was one I was surprised to find: a delightful Pinot Gris from Oregon by Erath, at a very reasonable price. Dinner for 6 at 8:15pm Service outstanding, our server Kate was terrific. Had Haddock and Lobster casserole, very good could have more lobster but very tasty, moist. Several of us had Caesar salad, very good. Wife had sirloin steak prepared as ordered, overall Rack of lamb was very good. Drinks were a decent pour, desert was ice cream. Ordered margarita pizza as app, outstanding, probably the best pizza in the Valley Overall, even Cousin Ernie would have liked our dinner. Ambiance, beautiful place. Highly recommend read more

Yumm!! The home made sour bread along with the olive oil is great! Not more is needed as an appetizer!! We had the pleasure of stopping at the Wild Rose Restaurant during our stay in the White Mountain region, NH; fortunately for us we were able to take advantage of the $35 special for dinner for 2 on a Thursday evening!! The special consisted on the choice of any Entrée from their menu and a shared dessert... My husband chose the 32oz prime rib and I selected Tenderloin of Beef, both plates were cooked to perfection! We took our time in the very relaxing and intimate atmosphere to have our dinner and even shared dessert - a delicious warm brownie served with homemade ice cream, covered with a caramel sauce, very delish!!! read more

Great place for some adult time with your old New Hampshire setting. As soon as you walk I to the front door you instantly take in the feel of this classical Colonial Inn. The bar is right in front of the entrance way with a warm inviting feeling. I would not really call it a bar because it has a open concept feel all around a massive natural fireplace You do not have to drink to enjoy but it sure is a perfect spot for a nightcap. We loved our room, #35 with a fireplace that we did use and only needed one log for the entire night. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and sheets were soft. You could hear the old steam pipes working and it added to the experience. Our room was plenty big and pictures are accurate to the website. Room 35 sits right above the main Entrance door so you have a view of the parking lot which it is prettier then it sounds especially after a fresh snowfall that we timed perfectly. If you need a quiet night away and not looking for modern bells and whistles you may enjoy your stay. If it is a full house be prepared to wait for breakfast and get to dinner early so you do not miss the prime rib as it will run out. Try not to be in a hurry with the service either get a cocktail from the bartender, his martinis are creative. read more
