The other two some had to drive out and talk to started to get us a new cart. Then when we were on hole 18, the sprinklers turned on as we are hitting out shots. After the round we went to talk to someone at the pro shop and it was closed.... Robert the closer was nice and tried to assist us but this whole place needs to do better. We were stopped at the turn and told we had to skip two holes due to complaints from the group behind that we were holding up play. The group behind was our friends who hadn't complained or waited for us all day. Instead of a reasonable conversation, the marshal informed us that we obviously don't play much (I was 2 over) and we didn't have a choice. As we drove down the 10th, we could see the group behind still playing approach shots to the 9th, and the group behind that wasn't even on the 9th yet. He led us to the twelfth hole, where there was a backup and we waited for every shot for the remainder of the round. I've never encountered a course employee with this type of attitude, let alone expecting it when paying this much to play.

This course is set in an area with lots of elevation changes and some mountains. You can even see…read moremountain goats on some of the peaks, very cool! The course itself is demanding, lots of waste areas that you need to avoid. The conditions were good the day we played. The greens were excellent. I think that the clubhouse is under construction, along with other improvements. They were serving lunch and breakfast. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito. My group of seven recently played at SilverRock Golf Course, and unfortunately, it was one of the…read moreworst golf course experiences we've had. We understood that we had to split into groups of four and three, and we did exactly that. At the first tee, we all hit our tee shots around the same time. Instead of politely reminding us of the course policy, the starter walked over very aggressively, began raising his voice, and repeatedly told us we needed to stay separated. He then started speaking in Spanish, which not everyone in our group understood, and kept asking us, "Do you understand?" in a very confrontational manner. We remained calm and respectful the entire time, but the way we were treated was completely unnecessary. Throughout the round, it felt like we were being followed and watched. The group of four ahead of us would occasionally slow down, so our group of three would catch up to say hello. Other times, we'd briefly gather at a tee box while waiting for the fairway to clear. We were never holding up play. In fact, when we noticed groups behind us, we even skipped holes at times to keep the pace moving. Despite this, the marshal repeatedly came over and aggressively told us to separate. Every interaction felt hostile rather than helpful. The final incident was the most disappointing. On the last hole, the course was nearly empty because of the heat. There was no one behind us, and we weren't delaying anyone. Yet the marshal drove up again, yelling that this was the "third time" he had warned us about being together. There was simply no reason for that level of aggression. I've played many golf courses over the years, and I've never experienced staff behaving this way. Course policies are understandable, but they should be enforced with professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, the treatment we received from both the starter and the marshal completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable day with friends. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend SilverRock Golf Course.

I have played at some that are just as decent for $15 for 9 holes and replay is $8. So for almost $50 plus $15 for a cart it is a little expensive for what you get. With that being said they are building a large pro shop / restraunt. Maybe thats the justification for the higher fees. The starter/marshall was friendly and knowledgeable. There were some teens and some that maybe should stick to the range a few more times before they come to a course. I should have to wait to tee off so that you can take your 3rd shot from the middle of my fairway and be pointed backwars back to your hole. All the holes are par 3, so its fairly quick. Took three of us about 2 hrs 20 min and thats with having to wait for a group in front of us to pick it up. The greens are decent and challenging. If you go in the middle of the day its not as busy. Our tee time was 4:40 and the course was pretty empty but as we finished the front 9 it was getting busy and by the time we finished the 18th it was packed. It was fun but for the price we can find PGA level courses closer to us.

The staff were great and helped us scoot out when we got there real close to our time. The course had that southern look with dormant Bermuda rough and nice green fairways and greens. Overall conditions were great. The greens were not super fast, but they were smooth and actually probably nicer than the Marriott shadow ridge course down the road. Course was fun and had appropriate challenge. Some of the bunkers and waste areas were a little rough around the edges but don't hit it in there! Scenery was also beautiful. Nicer I thought than the view from within a Palm Desert housing development. We didn't get a chance to use the driving range but looked to be pretty sizable with grass hitting area and large practice green.

Also, there were zero shade trees so half the year will be unbearable direct son and the other half will be annoyingly windy. There are many more options available in the desert that you will appreciate spending a little bit more money for a better experience. This course simply poor maintained and has very limited amenities, bathrooms are disgusting, and range is low end.
