Very good food. Great service. Marissa was amazing. She took care of all needs and made sure the experience was something to remember.

We were there on Sunday eve... the place was busy but not packed. We sat at the bar on stools designed for 10 yo's... not comfortable if you have bigger then a 32" waist. Great Beer list and the server explained that anything with a line through it was out and was replaced with things on the next page with a star... Great idea. Sadly they are embarrassed with how much they charge, since they were afraid to post them on the menu. The server asked if we wanted to see a menu... we said sure. Lots to choose from. Sadly she never came back to take an order... so we got our check from a glass on the bar... Beers were $5 each... not a bad price (why not post it?) We will give it another shot when they work out the kinks... hopefully we will be able to eat too. read more

All I can say is wow! This place is all very unique and unlike anything in Southern New Jersey! The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. I had the Brussels sprouts, the conte pizza, the candied bacon, and the pirogies. The Brussels sprouts were good, the candied bacon blew my mind and the pirogies were unbelievable. I recommend this place to everyone . I sent some pictures to my friends and they are hyped up to come check this place out. My fiancé was upset because I inhaled all the pirogies but you have to choose your battles. read more

While it's not the cheapest bar, it has an upscale drink menu and great food selection. The pizza is delicious, I've had quite a few different kinds. My friends, however, always make it a point to get the brussel sprouts and the asparagus. They love it. read more

Tonight was our first time at Cinder bar and it was AMAZING!! The food was incredible- I highly recommend their wood fired pizzas and the truffle fries!!! So good!!! Our waitress was also great- she took the time to explain everything and we never had to wait for anything- she was totally on point! They have so many different cocktails and craft beers too! Cinder bar has such a cool ambiance and great music, as well. There are still so many things my husband and I want to try on the menu, so we can't wait to go back!!!!! We had a great dining experience at Cinder Bar! We were a party of 8 and were seated within 10 minutes of arriving around 5:15pm on an already busy Saturday evening. The beer selection is great, and the drink menu also included tasty non alcoholic options for the women who were pregnant in our party. We ordered a mixture of small plates including Cheesesteak egg rolls, Wings, Edamame, Sriracha deviled eggs, Bada Bing shrimp as well as pizza, salads and sandwiches. Everything was delicious, and arrived quickly. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the one issue we had with one of the desserts was handled well. I also appreciated not feeling rushed from the staff even though the restaurant was very busy. We generally enjoy dining in Philadelphia for better food options, but will keep Cinder Bar at the top of our list in the future! read more

Free flowing kitchen works for me. Everything from the pizza oven is great. The Brussels sprouts appetizer with bacon is perfect. The monthly specials are always creative and are usually great. Last night there was a 45 min to 1 hour wait for a table, but my boyfriend & I were able to snag 2 seats at the bar after about 30 min. We received exceptional service from Corey & Kaylee, (2 of the bartenders). Even though the place was packed & the bar was swamped, they went out of their way to accommodate us! I ordered the short rib & mushroom risotto & my boyfriend had the Italian market pizza (it was the featured pizza). Both were delicious! We always have good service & great food, but last night I feel that Corey & Kaylee went above & beyond. Thanks again, guys! read more

I regret not writing a positive review about our previous visits since we did enjoy this restaurant every time we went. The food is great and unique for the desolate culinary wasteland in which we live, and we were happy to find a place featuring fantastic, creative cocktails for me alongside craft beer for my husband. We especially appreciated the variety of local beers on tap. Today I read that Cinder has joined a small boycott of NJ breweries and will no longer serve their beer in protest of a proposed change in the law that would allow local breweries to skip the mandatory tour of the facility and sell packaged snacks like bags of chips. A few bar/restaurant owners are protesting because they feel it will devalue their liquor licenses. How on earth is going to a brewery that only serves one brand of beer and snacking on some Fritos at all comparable to going out to a nice restaurant and enjoying your pick from a variety of alcohol and menu options? When we go to a brewery we are looking for a completely different experience than we do when going to a restaurant or bar. Last week we went to Death of the Fox, which is just a few doors down from Cinder, and we were planning to go to Cinder tomorrow night. Going to the brewery doesn't mean we no longer want to visit Cinder too. Having a local brewery in the same shopping center shouldn't affect Cinder's business in the long term if they continue to focus on serving tasty food and a variety of beverages. I assume this protest is in direct response to a brewery opening up next door. Way to be neighborly and welcoming of a new local business. I was hoping we'd see Death of the Fox beer on tap at Cinder so this is especially disappointing. Obviously we'll find somewhere else to go tomorrow since we too feel we have something to protest, in this case an unwise business decision on the part of the restaurant owner. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat with my sister the other day at lunchtime. She had the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and loved them! I had the special which was a Prime Rib sandwich. It was absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go back! read more

Came in for a few quick bites, chicken pot pie bites and the shirt rib pontine on point as well as a the service. We neglected this place for a while bc of a rude bartender. He was rude as the day is long, wasn't interested in making money that night I guess. This particular visit changed my opinion and will def be back. I have been to this place three times so far and every time I was disappointed. The service is good but the food isn't good quality. They can't even keep the salad ingredients fresh!! Jacob was awesome. He picked up our table after there was some sort of miscommunication between servers on who had us and who wanted to be cut to go home early. Waited over 35 minutes for our first round of drinks with our original server... our appetizers actually came out before our drinks.. Jacob immediately apologized and brought our drinks over as soon as our table was switched to him in the computer. Things happen and communication gets mixed especially if restaurants are short staffed and we hope Jacob didn't get in trouble for us waiting, he really did a great job! 3 stars for food quality.... the food just isn't very good... ordered the ahi tuna salad, the elote, and the cal-Italia pizza, good but bottom burnt and top still weirdly cold. Perogis and Cheeseteak eggrolls were good. wish they would shorten the menu so that they can focus on making things taste better instead of offering so many subpar options. read more

The food at Cinder Bar is delicious however, the wait staff is horrible. When the restaurant first opened, we absolutely loved it! It quickly went down hill in my opinion. Two visits ago it felt like they were a little too crowded which is great for business I'm sure but as a customer we weren't getting much attention from our server. Last time we visited the restaurant, it was a week night around 7:30-8:00 pm. We waited less than 5 minutes for a table as the dinner rush was ending and tables were starting to clear. We were served or drinks and the server became annoyed when she came over a few times and we still were not ready to order our food, as we were four friends catching up. So we order our food and it's taking forever. Finally a manager comes over and apologizes for our food taking so long, states that it has been dropped on the floor and they are remaking it. She asks if we need anything and two of us ask for refills on our water. She takes our water cups and never returns them. We finally get our food and about ten minutes after it's delivered our waitress finally comes back over and asks if we are still missing anything which we are, our side salads which should have been delivered an hour ago at this point. After dinner we have another round of drinks and we are the waitresses only table at this point, she doesn't come check on us anymore and just watches us from the other side of the restaurant. We closed our tab and went to another local bar in Mantua. It was a horrible, uncomfortable experience and I have not been back to the restaurant since. It totally ruined a perfectly fun celebration between friends. If I order cinder bar again, it will be to go. The negative staff and service and lack of accommodation and communication is not worth the decent food. read more

Absolute hidden gem... Gloucester County NJ is a bit devoid of really good eating establishments. Some are "good", but not really good. Cinder bar is very good. Pizza turnovers are outstanding as are their cheese steak egg rolls. Plus their Cubano was also extremely tasty. Their "on tap" beer menu has a lot of varied selections...they're cold and fairly reasonably priced. The Allegash (White) Wheat is outstanding!!! Haven't been there in the evenings, so we're not sure what the night time is like as far as customer service, etc. goes. Our experience at the Cinder Bar has been great so far! read more

This place is awful. I got the worst food poising in my entire life. When I got home I was coming out of all ends in my body. I later then passed out and smacked my head against the corner of a wall and now I have a fat black bruise on my forehead. I ordered the chicken there and trust me, I would rather eat my own crap than that. I will never ever eat here again. Food is great and the atmosphere is really nice and chill. The bartenders are super friendly but it did take 10 minutes to get someone to notice my friend and I at the bar for our first drink. Had dinner here for the first and probably the last time today. 1st strike....we were sat at a really crappy table next to the kitchen. 2nd strike....hubby orders a pizza and I order chicken and waffles....pizza comes out within 10 minutes, waiter says my dinner will be out shortly. Ten minutes later still nothing, says there's a problem in the kitchen. 25 minutes after my husband's dinner arrived the manager finally delivered my meal. He apologized and said there was a mix up in kitchen...blah blah blah. Need better management in kitchen in my opinion. Food was just ok. Probably won't be back. read more

Are there for lunch on Wednesday. Very cool. Chairs not so comfortable if you are planning on hanging for a few hours drinking. Food was better than avg bar food. Whiskey Speak easy drinks are interesting. The beers on tap are great except they don't have a beer list you have to wait for one of the monitors to scroll thru the list In between ads, this is highly annoying. Same thing at the Village Pub which bye are the owners of Cinder. Suggest printing out a beer list everyday or twice a day like most craft beer bars do. It's not that hard nor expensive. Change the beer menu delivery and you get 4 or 5 stars. read more

Tried this place for my first time with a friend on Saturday night. We put our name in for a table, but then were able to find 2 seats at the bar, so we decided to have dinner there instead. Beer selection was awesome, as well as the mock-tails. We both ordered chicken and waffles with gravy on the side, but when it came out, the gravy was on top of the food. The chicken was also a bit overdone (had a burned taste to it) but overall, it was good - we both finished our meals. Prices are reasonable. I would definitely be back again - free wifi, outlets at the bar to charge your phone. I know sometimes when a place is new, they have to find their groove. They seem to be on their way! read more

Very slow service and it wasn't that crowded. Ordered a Cuban sandwich-which was a hot ham and cheese. The cheese was not Swiss ( and too melted/messy) no pork or mustard and one super thin pickle. Fries were room temperature and not seasoned at all. Definitely not worth $13. Beer wasn't as cold as it should have been. The pizza's going by looked good-but small-a guy across from us ate a whole one and it was $14! Too many other places have better food and colder beer. read more

The bar itself is excellent and a welcome addition to the area. Outside seating and big open windows are great. Drinks are great too. The menu is limited and gets noticeably smaller with each visit. Wings are excellent as are the cheesesteak egg rolls. Have heard others say the place has an identity crisis and I agree. Came with a group of 15 or so to watch the march madness finals and saw they had live music and the game on two tvs while their menu was on the others. We left. i cant remember what pizza i ordered but i know whatever it was i modified it a bit so it ended up being just a pepperoni and sausage pizza. it was so good almost ate the whole thing. also tried the perogies because i love perogies, they were great! the sweet onions on them were sooo good! my husband lovesss the wings! talks about them all the time. he also like the siracha deviled eggs alot, like alot alot. since we live right around the corner now we will be back for sure read more

Never knew this was there since I don't travel this road too often. Whole area decorated super cool. Even plug ins all around the bar the charge your cell phone. The service was fantastic (Alex). The food, defiantly not you typical bar food. 2 of us split the grilled romaine salad, the Ukrainian perogies and a wood fired pizza with fresh mozzarella, short ribs, caramelized onions and white truffle oil. To die for. Just make sure you do not go on a Friday or Saturday, unless you go early. To go at around 6 an especially when the Eagles are playing. You will wait over an hour for a seat. Can't wait to try the Sunday brunch. Menu for that is unbelievable. read more

I went here on Saturday Night. Crowded but wife and I had a seat at the bar and bartender's were beautiful and very nice. Had an awesome appetizer the cheesesteak rolls which were almost enough to fill you up with just that. Wife had meatballs stuffed with olives which were also fantastic. Had the special which was a BLT which was best I've ever had. Wife had salad that she loved also. Been here a couple times before but was during the day but then it food was also great. The beginning of my evening in this new tavern was wonderful. Our waitress, Nicole, was very sweet and on top of things and our food was fantastic! However, after our meal, my cousin and I sat at the bar to watch the football game and have a drink. The bartender, Corey, was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional, ruining the night. We spent a lot of money there and I didn't appreciate his behavior. I have never been treated so poorly by a bartender. We quickly left and went somewhere else to spend the evening. Not only was I upset by his rudeness, so was my cousin and she is in the restaurant business. Bottom line; the food is fantastic and the waitresses are great. They need to find bartenders that don't ruin a special evening. I would have given this place 5 stars but because of the bartender, I had to give it 3. read more

We've been there a few times with mixed reviews. The wait is way too long especially when the hostesses are seating 2 people at a 4 top. The excuse was there were not enough chairs in the establishment. I guess that should be taken care ASAP!! No wonder people are waiting for an hour. Have been waiting over an hour for a table. There is an open table literally 5 feet from us and they will not seat us. Horrible service!!

This is such a shame. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, but the service is lacking significantly. Visited twice, figuring they were new the first time and the second time would be better. There is a lack of understanding as to timing the delivery of the food to the table. The first visit resulted in us receiving our entrée prior to our appetizer. There was no explanation until we asked the waitress about it. She said the people doing appetizers were backed up from a large bar order. The second time, we tried to be smart and just order our first course prior to ordering a pizza. I received my salad yet my guests did not receive an order for soup and perogies. No explanation offered. After 10 minutes, we were able to grab the waitress and she said it was a free flow kitchen the orders do not come out at the same time. HUH???? I told her that it was not flowing well and we need it to be fixed. My husband went to the manager who provided the same insane explanation while offering no solution. Finally the two items arrived---separately. We then ordered two pizzas. When the first one was delivered, it was the not what we ordered. I finally flagged down the waitress and was in the middle of telling her what we ordered and she walked away to deliver someone else's food. As she came back I told her I was in the middle of talking and asked her to repeat what I said. Finally, the order was corrected. This place could be awesome. The staff needs to extensive training from a seasoned professional. That is not the manager. She is in over her head. It was the waitresses job to ensure the food was timed properly, not ours to tell her as the manager suggested. (Really????). They are in big trouble when the brewery opens two doors down if they do not get it together. Such a shame as the food is very good. read more
