Nice steakhouse with bar attached. You can sit on the restaurant side or in the more noisy bar side. You can get burgers or prime rib or seafood! good variety on menu. There is a child menu also. Meh. A bit of a mixed bag, but overall I was supremely underwhelmed. The Good: - The place is nice. The interior is clean and well apportioned. The deck was nice for outdoor dining. - The server we had was great. Friendly, quick on the service, etc. The Bad: - The menu is 1) sparse and 2) oddly priced. Again, I don't like places that have appetizers that cost as much as entrees. Also, I HAAAAAATE places that give chips as a side with your meal, and you can upgrade to fries. +$3 at ol' Telford The Ugly: - The food was pretty bad. We got a bunch of apps, because we went at lunch time and there were like 4 lunch options. (No one is going to eat a damn chicken pot pie at noon on a Wednesday, especially when its 90 degrees outside.) We went with Onion Rings, Crispy Chicken Bao Buns, Poutine and Chicken Tenders. The onion rings were tiny slivers of onions, with a pound of GREEEEEEEEASY breading. Neither of us could taste the ONION in our onion rings. The bao buns weren't soft enough to be bao buns, and cracked and crumbled as we ate. But the taste of the chicken was at least ok, with the Sriracha Honey they put on. The poutine was GROSS. First, it didn't appear to be cheese curds, but just melted cheddar. Secondly, the gravy tasted like the powdered gravy that come out of a bag, and was INCREDIBLY salty. The chicken fingers surprised in a few ways; first, it was like SIX chicken fingers, which was the only positive. Or, it WOULD have been, if they weren't gross. Secondly, they were heavily breaded as well, and the breading took over the taste. Third, they come to the table dry; no sauce, nothing. We had to ask for honey mustard after the fact. We were meeting some friends in the area and they suggested the Telford Inn. I liked the coziness of the dining area inside. I could see having some nice comfort food in the winter here. We ended up eating outside on the deck area, looking off over the roadways. They were far enough away to not feel like you are on the road. We ended up splitting the Prime Rib Sandwich. It came out and almost looked slightly larger than a slider sandwich. Although small, it was very very good. Our friends got a burger, short rib Mac and cheese and a chicken wrap. Telford Inn is overrated expensive and not all that great. The portions of food are small and lots of money. outside of the business looks trashy with the trailer on the side. It's a site for sore eyes doesn't look good outside of a business. They need to cover it up. bring it somewhere else. Telford Inn is a very well decorated and the ambiance feels classy but casual. The service was great and our waiter was very nice and patient. We ordered 2 apps to share. The sweet potato fries were cooked well, it was sweet and crunchy. They paired well with the sweet and savory aioli. The crispy bao buns were okay but cost as much as an entree. They were coated in a sauce that were inspired by Asian flavors (more like Korean fried chicken) which made the chicken lose its crunchiness. The cabbage was helpful in making it feel well balanced and less heavy. Honestly, would probably skip over it next time. As for my turkey wrap, it was just underwhelming. It was kinda dry, it either needs more mayo or some sauce on the side. The wrap felt like it tasted more of lettuce than turkey. It came with a side of chips which weren't great. I would've preferred it came with fries. Overall, less than average tasting American food for an average price. read more

Last time I ever get food from here. Food is usually good enough when dining in, always subpar when getting take out but that's to be expected. This is another level. This was supposed to be a wedge salad with a $14 rib cap steak, ordered medium. There was more shredded cheddar than bleu cheese, no dressing, and just tossed in a box. Steak was 2.5 oz. So nasty I lost my appetite. Straight in the trash. My wife was too grossed out to eat her food as well. Deserves 0 stars. Do better!! read more

The Telford Inn has been our go to spot whether we wanted a burger and fries or a great steak. Unfortunately, the new menu brought some disappointment. I was glad to see my favorite appetizer, the Short Rib Nachos were still available until they were served. The chips sat in a puddled of liquid from the Pico, there was a small clump of room temperature short rib and a small drizzle of crema. This dish normally was served with warmed chips and an ample amount of perfectly seasoned Pico, this was not the case. The Barrel Steak which was a starring item on the menu was sadly gone. There was a Flatiron Steak or a New York Strip but they just didn't fit the bill. I opted for the prime rib sandwich which the Telford is known for but not this time. My sandwich was more fat than meat. Our service was spotty at best and this visit was a major disappointment. read more

Wonderful waiter and great service! Telford ambiance is a warm and cozy vibe. Had not been in years where I used to love the potato encrusted salmon in a sauce but long gone and also would enjoy the prime rib sandwiches which are still on the menu. A friend ordered the prime rib sandwich and she said it wasn't good like it used to be because of a skimpy amount of beef. I ordered a salad which came which blue cheese. Since goat cheese was on a dish listed in the specials, I asked to switch the blue cheese for goat cheese. The waiter was upset and came back and said he doesn't agree since only switching, but that he had to up charge another $3.00. per the chef on an already overpriced salad. Out came the salad with less than a tsp of the goat cheese. I even told the waiter but he wasn't allowed to bring more. Based on 2 orders not up to par, i doubt I would return. We gave a generous tip based on the service but certainly not on the food. read more

This was my first time here since the new menu and renovations. I was very impressed overall! I went here for lunch in the middle of the week and ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad was very good and filling. The prices for not only the salad, but for the other items too, seemed very reasonable. Also, the service was excellent. Mantua is not the zip code where relaxed come as you are dinner joints can suddenly pull a rabbit out of a hat and become $60pp "white tablecloth" destinations simply by jacking up menu and bar pricing without a new chef and a thorough rethinking of the zero intimacy saloon atmosphere. "If you build it they will come" pixie dust metaphysics may work on a movie set in Iowa but in salt of the earth Gloucester County, putting new wine in old bottles seems presumptuous and not the best idea that I've heard (or tasted) today. read more

COVID-19 review: Very pleasant outdoor seating on the porch and patio (no rickety tables in a parking lot here). Well spaced out and all their staff wore masks both inside & outside. The menu is pared down a bit, which makes sense given the strict dining capacity guidelines. But everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and on par. Huge props for a local business used to serving a large indoor bar crowd for a nicely done pivot to keep everyone both safe and happy! Conveniently around the corner, we thoroughly enjoyed our first (takeout) Telford Inn experience. What a lovely restaurant. I loved the warm feeling I got when I walked in. Our meal started with the calamari since they ran out of the (special) crab mac and cheese. Seasoned and tender accompanied by a marinara and super yummy sriracha Mayo. Following, my boyfriend and I shared the ranch chicken wrap (with fries) and the angry shrimp with fettuccine. You ever get a wrap that is wet and falls apart?! NOPE NOT THIS WRAP. Every element was delicious and tasted exactly how you'd expect it. For the finale - the angry shrimp with fettuccine: mouth watering! *chefs kiss* The pasta is homemade, as fresh as can be with jumbo shrimps cooked to perfection. A fabulous meal. The Telford is one of those places you go to for special occasions. It's old Victorian & very well maintained. There are 2 parts, the dining area & the bar. I've never been in the bar, but it looked nice. It's very handicapped friendly & you don't feel as if you're too crowded. The servers are nice & very knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is varied enough to find something to suit every food preference. The food is expertly prepared & very good. My husband especially loves their steaks. My parents loved their Sunday brunch. I'm a Vegan & Diabetic, so for me their weren't a lot of options, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. This is more of an upscale restaurant & the prices reflect that, however I think the prices are fair considering the quality & service. read more

Great Dinner, appetizers and drinks..sat at bar table. Owner Brad is very active and helping staff. He is engaging with customers. Food was amazing, fresh - during Covid we saw a dip in food and service like most places but are so happy they are back to the high quality food and service they have always been known food. My dinner with my daughter last week was delicious. I had the filet . Cooked exactly as I asked and it was very tender. I asked for A1 steak sauce but didn't need it because the steak gravy was that good! Smashed potatoes were good but would have been better if hotter. Asparagus texture or hardness just right . Recently I was at the bar with two friends having a good time when suddenly a bar tender discipled me for something she overheard I said in a private conversation with friends. It was a comment about a beer. Obviously her politics differ from mine. So we moved to a table but no longer felt welcome so went a mile down the road to another bar who will now get twice the business from me. I contacted the owner with no response. Awesome Filet!! Went in for my son's birthday and we both ordered the "surf and turf" which was scallops and filet. It was awesome - perfectly seasoned. Scallops cooked just right. Had Guacamole and chips as appetizer and the guacamole was excellent - nice flavor and had slice tomatoes in it - nice touch. We devoured it. Great service and great atmosphere.
