My second stop in a self-directed Crossroads brewery crawl, and my first visit to this location after they moved here from a couple of blocks west from here a few years ago. I only stayed for one beer - the Lithuanian Farmhouse Ale, and it delivered the smooth kick that I love about Farmhouse style beers. The new space is much bigger and open and the two staff behind the bar were brewery veterans that were welcoming and personable to chat with.

Laid back, grunge vibes with beer? I'm in! Music playing was awesome and the brewery on this snowy afternoon was poppin. I tried the NA Amber and it tastes like beer. I'm on a semaglutide so finally having a taste of alcohol after six months is great. Hanging out at a brew pub with my 23 yo daughter and husband on a Saturday is heaven.

It was First Friday and they had a DJ that pulled me in to check it out! I feel like I've been to quite a few local breweries lately and I'm a preferred wine connoisseur at heart! This spot is right in the heart of the Crossroads. Both bartenders had a very pleasant demeanor. However, the bartendress came to attentively assist me and provided me with a taste based on our discussion, the Strawberry Blonde. It was ok. It didn't have quite the harmony of smooth malt and fresh fruit as I was expecting for pale malt or fruit ale.

Next time I'm craving a beer, to Border Brewing Company I'll go, for a beautiful glass of Stout of the World. While I'm there, I'll reflect on my fortunes, lucky am I to be in KC, in the Crossroads, in this particular brewpub, a tranquil harbor for thirsty patrons, where the quality of the ale is complimented nicely by the geniality of those who serve it.

Border Brewing Company has been around for a while now and in my opinion has solidified itself as a solid brewery amongst the ever growing micro brewery scene in Kansas City. When you walk in, it's clear you're in a brewery. It has the quintessential OG brewery vibe. It's not pretentious, though, and the bartenders at work here are amongst the kindest I've met in KC. They will happily tell you more about any of the brews on tap and help make recommendations. The last time I was here I was meeting a friend I had their take on a Mexican lager - it was great! This isn't the kind of brewery that has the variety of beers that would keep me returning regularly, but I'm super glad they're here, and I think they make a great product. Certainly worthy of your next Crossroads pub crawl, or meetup with an old friend.

Cute place, they have a little backyard escape that is lovely in the summer & provides lots of shade! They also have cocktails made with some of their beers.

Bevy of Breweries (and they're all beauties) Border Brewing Company keeps with the alliteration and supplies some pretty bodacious brews as well as some tasty cocktails, colorful ciders, and unique seltzer beverages. It's located in the aptly named "brewers alley" and used to be located a block or so down the street. The new spot is a lot more spacious, and the purple painted outside draws you in from the street. It was a perfect stop on a walking jaunt during First Fridays in the crossroads arts district. The line wasn't long, and the drinks were poured and served with lighting speed! I was impressed. What also left me impressed with the newer selection of Kin Hard Seltzer cocktails, how neat, especially since Kin is the first black owned seltzer brand and is partly owned by one of the same owners of Border. This fun pink drink had a flavor of Kin Sletzer mixed with vodka and gin but, tasted like pink lemonade. It would be the perfect pool time sipper, I usually don't like sweet drinks however, this one was fun and balanced. The beer we went with was an IPA and had rich complex hoppy flavor (though I forgot which one it was). Great micro niche brewery conveniently located in a developed arts district near downtown definitely recommend stopping by and/or adding it to your list of breweries to bar hop in Crossroads!

This seems to be a very local brewery where everyone knows everyone. That being said, I felt welcomed. The guys behind the bar were friendly as were all the dogs roaming around. I wanted to love the beers. The beers I tried: Amber Lager (2.5/5) Lithuanian Farmhouse Ale (1/5) off flavors present Chocolate Milk Stout nitro (2.5/5) Raspberry Chocolate Milk Stout nitro (3/5)

Excellent variety of beers from approachable lagers, IPAs, English ales, and their most popular fruited beers. Bartenders are incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Dog friendly inside and outside. Back patio is a hidden gem with green space. Wednesday night is probably the best trivia in the city. Thursday they release a new limited release beer. Typically sells out before the weekend so go asap if you can.

Stopped by border brewing for some beers. Service was great and I love that they have flights. Unfortunately, I just didn't love the beers. Maybe it was what we picked to try, but they were all just ok. I'm not an IPA drinker, I think they are too bitter, but I thought the IPA had the best flavor of any of the beers we tried. There are so many options for beer in the area- I'd go elsewhere

A new storefront is a good reason to post an updated review. The brewery has moved down the street into some sweet new digs. The new, spacious room is extensively decorated in modern woodwork, complete with a long wraparound bar. That bar was constructed with built in cell phone chargers, just in case you need a little juice while you're bellied up. There's a backyard patio that when finished, will not only be an awesome spot when the weather is right, but will also house a small stage for live music performances. The beer is still Border Brewing beer. I recommend the Strawberry Blonde, but they have something for everybody. Limited cans and growlers are available to go.

The new location is quite lovely with the bar charging dots, the cool atmosphere and the adorable back patio. Beers are good, something for everyone. Fun spot to have drinks before dinner, after dinner, or just enjoy beer for dinner. We've been a Border Fan for years and the new (maybe not so new anymore) spot is a great one!

Stopped by for a happy hour drink. I enjoyed the cute patio space with live music and cute art. We decided on this brewery over the several others in the area because of their great happy hour deals. Beers were $5 and they had a couple other specials as well. I was a little disappointed because we were charged wrong in the end. One of the beers was not included in the happy hour price, which was fine but I wish the bartender would have mentioned it before. We even told her we were there to enjoy the happy hour. Then our second round was not rung up as happy hour at all even though it was still happy hour. We didn't say anything so I can't be too upset about it. The bartender was really nice besides the mistake. The beer was also delicious. I was able to try several between my friends and I and enjoyed them all. I had a great time and will be back. I will just have to ask for an itemized receipt before we pay next time.

The employees are friendly and helpful. Our bartender explained the different crafts on tap and even gave us a couple of samples to try. I ended up going with the "Mai Savior" - a Maibock (German) beer. Brewed for May 1st or "Bock Day", it has notes of malty honey with a slight caramel finish, and a 7.7% ABV. It was refreshing and very good! There are plenty of tv screens mounted throughout the building and with plenty of World Cup matches being played in different venues, it was easy to watch the different group play that was going on. And lo and behold in the corner there were 3 pinball machines! (I was really loving this place by now.) We had a great time playing them. Then, at the other end in the corner was a place where one can order pizza - which I can attest to it being very, very good. The space feels relaxed and approachable without trying too hard. Big open taproom, easy atmosphere, good energy. Friendly greeting the second I walked in, super knowledgeable about every beer on tap, and genuinely helpful without making anything feel scripted or sales-y. Hospitality matters to me a lot, and she made the experience feel welcoming immediately. I worked my way through quite a few beers: Hop Cuddle, the collaboration with Tall Trellis, their Mexican-style lager, Weathered Wit, Pavers Porter, and the rice lager. Every single one was excellent, but that rice lager was probably my favorite. Crisp, clean, refreshing, incredible mouthfeel -- one of those beers that disappears way faster than you planned. Weathered Wit deserves a shout too. Light tartness, citrus notes, classic Belgian yeast character, ridiculously refreshing. Everything you want from a witbier on a warm day and they absolutely nailed it. (beeradvocate.com) Also, I'm genuinely excited to see breweries collaborating again. Beer feels more fun when breweries are creating together instead of existing in separate lanes, and it's cool seeing that energy still alive in Kansas City craft beer.

The outdoor seating is a strong point. Serene, softly lit and spacious. The bartenders were business like friendly, they really don't want to hear your sad stories. The only downside was that they quit serving beer at halftime of the game we were watching. The game that went into extra time and on to penalty kicks. So we sat there for an hour and a half, thirsty, pockets full of unspent cash, watching the game while the neglected taps mercilessly mocked us. It honestly seemed baffling and inane beyond belief.
