I really wanted to give this place multiple chances, but every time I went, I ended up leaving disappointed. The owner/stylist honestly seems like she's trying, but the service quality and consistency just aren't there. During my most recent visit, I came in for an iron perm and things went downhill from there. The iron was used too close to my scalp, and I left with a sore, irritated spot that's been uncomfortable for days. The whole process felt rushed and unplanned. There wasn't much of a consultation or explanation about what would be done, and I didn't feel like my hair type or face shape were really taken into account. The final result looked uneven one side was stiff and over-pressed while the other side looked looser and clumped together. It just didn't fall naturally at all. What bothered me most is that I tried to trust the process and stay patient, but even after several washes, my hair still feels off heavy, dry, and awkwardly bent in places. It's frustrating because this kind of service shouldn't leave you stressed or worried about how your hair looks or feels afterward. You should feel happier walking out rather than thinking to yourself if you look good or not. I spent well over $150 for this service, and for that price, I expected a stylist who would take the time to plan, consult, and deliver consistent results. Sadly, that wasn't my experience here. Ha fixed my hair and made it beautiful again. I do miss the volume but the tight small curls weren't for me. I still recommend this place, minus the tight curls. (Because I wanted body waves). Update 7 years later! I called the day of to see if there was appointments for haircut. They squeezed me in and I was able to get a haircut the same day. Ms. Ha did my hair and she did a great job! In accordance with a spontaneous day of fun, my best friend and I decided we wanted curtain bangs. Covid "blessed" us with outgrown layers that no longer did us any justice. We showed up after calling an hour earlier on a Thursday evening. Jenny Seo was our stylist. You know a stylist is good when she can pinpoint what works for your face shape. Most hair stylists will give you what you want because they want you for your money. But Jenny was honest and even pointed out that our forehead sizes were different which can obviously play a role in how hair should frame your face. Post-haircut, the curtain bangs shaped our faces so well. I felt it added volume that wasn't there before. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but it sure did. I was very happy with the way it came out especially since we decided to get curtain bangs on a whim. A spontaneous day done right! In terms of covid-19, people were wearing masks. Disappointed... I grow my hair and need length and volume for my JOB. I'm not the office fancy lady so I need to make bum or up do. I told Ms Ha *No layer *Just trim bottom *need length and volume. I have reason why I wanted to keep my own hair style especially HOT SUMMER and I have very special thin and natural curly hair. Due to thin hair I don't usually use hot iron just light using hairdryer. But you can't see my a little different special hair condition in wet hair. I think they should consult before washing hair and what I wanna be like. As a result my volume was down and totally opposite looking what I want. My hair is all over. My shortest length is more than half of original length that I didn't expect. And she set 3 length layers which I hate style most ever. It's gonna take more than half year to get back my style. I didn't want "new style". Owner would say why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me so I can fix free. Sorry I don't think so. Just wait till my hair back is the safest for me. I called on a Saturday and to my surprise, the Salon was able to take me that same day for a perm! I came in 15 mins early and thankfully there was no wait time. The stylist, Ms Ha, was constantly complimenting how nice my hair was (haha) and took such great care of it during the entire digital perming process! I came to the salon bummed about having overspent on poorly done highlights and a haircut that had fried my hair, frizzled my natural curls, was largely uneven, and was not even the color/tone I had requested! Terrible results with digital perm. I went with long hair for a digital perm. My hair is naturally thick and wavy, not typical for korean hair. I got my hair done from the owner/master stylist. She spent a lot of time on my hair! Hours of dedication! But the end result was terrible. There were no distinct curls like the pictures on yelp. It was just a poofy lion mane with no uniform shape. For some reason my roots were curlier than the ends of my hair. She must have felt bad because at the end the price was $50 less that what she quoted me at the beginning. She also told me it would get better with time. It did not. I had to wait a full 2 months to get magic straightening to reverse what she did. And despite waiting, my hair is pretty fried now as a result. Two subsequent hairdressers told me never to go back to that place again because my layers look haphazard and disorganized. I would say that if you have thick naturally wavy hair, she does not know how to cut or perm it. If you have regular thin straight Asian hair you may have better results as reflected on the Yelp pictures. One star because the owner is nice, one star because the Spanish speaking assistant was nice and good at washing my hair. read more

I often get regular keratin treatments and I never encountered such pungent fumes like their's. Felt rushed & ignored most of my session. I've been coming to get my haircut at Cinderella Hair Castle with Miss Ha (the owner) as my stylist since 2014, I think. And I LOVE her. I'm always a little nervous when I get haircuts, but ever since I discovered Ha, I feel like I can just relax and put my trust in her. She's so adept, detailed and meticulous when she cuts hair. I feel like she really takes into consideration what kind of cut suits your face shape best and what type of hair she's working with (cause let's face it, not all hair reacts the same way after it gets trimmed). A lot of times, I'm not good at giving super detailed descriptions of the kind of haircut I want, but she's able to figure out what's best for me based on my taste and the pictures I show her. I highly recommend her! I think I would be heartbroken if she ever moved away somewhere I couldn't reach her. Or if I had to move away. [Haircut & Perm Review] Tldr: my hair honestly hasn't looked this good probably since birth... continue reading for details I waited until after the first wash to leave this review just to make sure my hair wasn't the result of styling and was actually a semi-permanent fix. Needless to say, it's now been several days and my hair is still as perfect as it was when I left the salon. To clarify, I got a cut, straightening treatment, and then a c-curl perm at the ends of my hair with Ha. My hair was originally quite dry and unusually wavy/frizzy for asian hair (read: looked like it was exploding out of my head). Post-treatment though, it's unbelievably silky smooth, the ends curl in neatly and fashionably, and I feel like I could be in a Pantene commercial. Moreover, the ladies here are all extremely friendly, attentive, and professional. The area is also spacious, clean, and comfortable, so I had no issues being there for the entirety of the 4 hours. While two other staff members also helped out on my hair, Ha watched over the entire process and was extremely meticulous in ensuring my hair turn out like the pictures I had showed her. I went to Cinderella because my usual go to place was closed and I needed a cut bad. I went to Jenny. She was very sweet, took her time. Listened to me first and asked questions along the way. My hair was weighing down to much and I wasn't 2.5-3 inches off with layers. Since I said my hair was heavy she used the thinning scissor and did layers but knowing what I know now. I would say less on the thinning of my hair bc now it's super thin and I would have to say to cut less. After everything said and done my hair was shortened about 4-5 inches, hair was thinned but I would say less thinning. I liked the way the hair cut was done because even after several washes my hair can still look like how she did it at the salon, which I love. I used the Yelp messaging to check if they could take me in less than an hour on a Saturday afternoon. The owner responded to me very quickly. I walked in as scheduled time. Nice staff. I have very dry and recently highlighted (just 3 weeks ago), medium length hair. Even though I just had a haircut, she gave me another one with more layers to help the curls come out more. I LOVE the hair cut! (Why can't stylists in Amsterdam layer like they can in the States?!?!) Since my hair is naturally a little wavy, she straightened the top of my hair and then curled the rest. The curls came out exactly as I wanted! After, Jenny gave me advice on how to make sure my hair doesn't get too dry. She recommended some products and key ingredients (argan oil!) that would help, without pushing the items they have at the salon. Before the appointment, my mom's hair was a frizzy mess. I was planning to go alone but I decided to treat her to the keratin treatment because she needed it. Her hair looks amazing and so so so much more healthy. She noted that they did some part of the treatment outdoors for more ventilation. She also asked the stylist not to make it too straight since she doesn't like the pin straight look and was very pleased with the result, which would loosen up even more over time. There's free wifi. Tons of magazine. Plenty of outlets. Considering that we were there for over three hours, this was very helpful to help pass the time. The salon gets very busy so do make an appointment. Six month update: this straightening did not hold up to the test of time even though the process is supposed to be permanent. What happened to all the Hair JJ stylists? Some, like Yulia, is at Cinderella now! I decided to give Cinderella a try since Infore is located so far into the suburbs and Cinderella is a lot closer to me. I scheduled an appointment for a digital perm with no stylist in mind, but I was pleasantly surprised when Yulia did my hair. The process was 4 hours long, and it consisted of trimming and layering, reconditioning and repairing the hair, digital perming, and then styling. I stuck by with an advice from a previous stylist (no bigger than medium curls since my hair is thin). I was offered tea and magazines, but tea would only cause bathroom breaks and I had my iPhone, so it was a great time to update my Yelp reviews! (Bring a recharger if you're planning to play games). One odd thing I notice is that they like to put a cloth over your eyes when they wash your hair. Which is odd for me since the cloth is not so secure, so it'll fall off every now and then. And besides, I think I can close my eyes fine with an aid of a cloth. My waves are really nice now. I think it's going to last another year or two. Hooray for long hair. read more

I was nervous/scared to go into a Korean salon since I don't speak any Korean but my friend recommended this place and based on the yelp reviews I decided to give it a try. Going in I was set on getting a balayage ombré. I showed them a couple of pictures that I had saved on my phone of exactly what I wanted. Jenny recommended me to go with a darker color than the one I had showed her and explained a step by step process of what she was going to do with my hair. Honestly, with the language barrier I didn't quite understand exactly what she was doing but I put my hair into her hands. I was short $5 and had to walk to the chase ATM a couple of blocks away and of course it starts to freaking pour. I return to the salon and my hair is no longer curly due to the rain. Its awful here. I came here about a year ago to get a shoulder length cut. My hair was lower back length. What I got at the end was a weird 80s mullet with many layers with the longest layer being at least 6 inches longer than the next longest layer. I had to go back to make them chop off the longest layer just so I didnt look like I was in a 80s rockband! At the end. My hair was chin length! Ridiculously short and uneven choppy layers. I had one strand of hair that was 3 inches long and definitely cut incorrect! This was not what I wanted. My hair finally grew out a year later and I'm so happy to finally get it corrected!! I used to go to Ms. Ha for years but she is either too busy and doing a half ass job or her style is very dated now. My recommendation is to go somewhere else. Not worth the risk.
