There are many art galleries in their "village," but the Ahmad Shariff Art Gallery is, by far, the best. Ahmad features both established artists and those from the local community who hold great promise. He has an eye for talent and his prices are reasonable. There is a wonderful art museum across the street and Pomona College has their art museum just two blocks away. These three location alone are a reason to visit Claremont, but, as one will discover, there are many more.

The instructors are highly trained and give clear explanations and very helpful feedback, which really accelerates progress. My child's artistic skills have improved dramatically since joining. All the art projects we do here are educational, engaging, creative, and of course, fun! When we EARN break time, we get food and a more social time. A friend of mine told us about the Dr. Seuss art exhibit at Sarah Bain, so we decided to check it…read moreout. Truth be told, I was not initially awe struck about the idea of seeing art by Dr. Seuss. To that extent, I was still interested. I could not expect the experience I was about to encounter. Upon entering the gallery, the rare unorthodox taxidermy mountings were hilarious. They were colorful and gracefully obnoxious. I had no idea Dr. Seuss also created these types of figures. Although the mountings are replicas, they are created using original molds. The original mountings are made of paper mâché and obviously super fragile and rare. The mountings on display ranged from a couple of thousand to several. As I continued through the gallery, I immediately recognized several of Dr. Seuss's classic stories and characters, such as the Cat in Hat. I was transported back to my youth and remembered positive experiences reading with my parents. I was shocked to realize the impact this complex artist and author actually had on me. I found several lithographs that were affordable, but it was difficult to choose. The Sarah Bain staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Daniel provided interesting information and immediately emailed artwork dimension sizes to me. If ever in downtown Brea, you must stop at Sarah Bain Gallery and take a look......it's free!

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions about prices. There is a dog there that is very friendly.
