We came back to a 75% sale and found a lot of good things and vintage clothing. I would recommend going when 50% sales happen, usually day 2 possibly 75% on day 3 Day one just hope you find good items and you get a good price. Workers are very friendly and kind. Cut us off really quick and walked away talking over their shoulder like we did not deserve being spoken to face to face saying you can come back tomorrow. I understand they closed 7 minutes before we got there. It's just a bit jarring to be blown off as a customer. Finishing a conversation face to face with someone who wants to support your business seems like the least a business can do when they have a lit up open sign and open doors. I don't think we'll be back, not a particularly welcoming vibe.

John Moran auctioneers (Bob Cullen) got back to me saying they too could not identify the artist but they were very interested in putting the painting in an upcoming auction. I was totally interested in consigning. It wasn't my first rodeo as I sell vintage and sold through Swann in NYC. Swann has handled individual prints for me but not a painting. So I was hoping to find a local auction house for the painting to avoid shipping it. Swann charges 15% commission. I was waiting to hear back from Moran as I was planning to drop the painting off. That is until I heard their fee would be 35% plus a $50 fee for photography. To me that is highway robbery. I reached out to Swann as, at that rate, I'd rather ship it to them.

I came by on a Sunday afternoon, it was a little busy but not overly crowded. Each booth is rented by a antique dealer to showcase furniture, jewelry, clocks, clothing, dishes, dolls, art, memorabilia, and framed posters, etc. The main floor has a service counter if you need assistance or have questions. Each section was very organized, you can easily browse at your own pace. The building was built more than 100 years ago and is the largest antique center in California. Even though they were still on their online portal to be sold. Out of 100 plus items they sent us a check for $300. These included Indian blankets, Victorian opera glasses, jewelry, furniture, and antique collectibles from all over the world as my grandparents were world travelers. it never sat right with me that they could not give me an itemized list of what was sold and what it was sold for. So I thought I should share my experience. The staff also seemed hectic, unhappy, and always referred me to the owner, even though he was only interested in our coins. I would go somewhere else.
