I have been going to this place for years and have always had a wonderful experience! They have recently changed ownership but Tim, one of the original owners is still working there and he does a great job! They got all new chairs for pedicures and renovated the entire place during the pandemic shut down. Do not go here. They will RUIN your nails ! I don't usually go to this salon but it was close by and all I needed was to remove the dip powder from my nails. I thought all they need to do is soak my nails in acetone. What could possibly go wrong ?? Boy was I surprised. First I called and Cindy answered. I asked her how much to remove dip powder from my nails and she said it was $10 for removal and nail cleanup. I thought wow that's great so I set an appointment for later that evening. I arrived to my appointment and was "greeted" by a somewhat rude bald man, Tim was his name I believe. He told me to sit down and another gentleman came over to do my nails. Didn't catch his name. It seemed like Tim was explaining how to do the removal to the man. I am not sure since they were speaking in another language. First, he used the electric nail sander and removed far more than just the top layer, which is just what they're supposed to do. That worried me a bit since I didn't want them to thin my nails out anymore. Next he began the acetone soak which is what I expected. While my nails were soaking Tim said to me " you called earlier asking about prices right?" And I said yes. And he goes well that's going to cost $25 not $10. Like he could've told me this before I sat down and began the service!! No he waited until it was too late for me to say nevermind and leave. They are crooks at this place. Well Tim is not Cindy. I don't know what their relationship is but Cindy should fire him. The man only let my nails soak for 10 minutes because Tim hollered for him. which anyone who has had dip powder removed from their nails knows it takes far longer than 10 minutes. Well needless to say not all the dip powder was removed. Instead of letting them soak longer he took out the electric nail sander and began SANDING DOWN MY ACTUAL NAILS. This was horrifying to me and I told him to stop. He stopped then began using a regular nail file. That is the exact same thing. This place ruined my long beautiful natural nails. They have been breaking off 1 by 1 because of how thin they left my nails. They are so rigid in texture and still have bits of dip powder left on then. Do not go here if you like your natural nails. This salon is a rip off and they don't know what they're doing. I will never return. read more

Cindy's was where my girlfriend and I went together for my first pedicure. They cut her toes to the blood but she liked it that way. I was nervous though and said go only a little short. Would've been nice to be a bit more ballsy and risk getting nipped. I'm doing that today for my second ever pedicure. My water at Cindy's wasn't hot enough and it didn't get any warmer. Just had another pedi from Tri and once again it was the best I've had! I got the Hollywood and it transformed my feet. They are the best they have ever felt! Oh, if you don't have cash for a tip and ask to put it on a card, expect to get treated like complete sh*t as you're leaving. I usually like Cindy, her husband, and some of the other staff at the salon, but I was treated so rudely the day before thanksgiving this year that I don't plan on returning. When it was made very clear in the most passive aggressive way possible that it's a pain to put tips on credit cards, I said I would get cash and come back. I will not be returning to this little soiree ever again. One word: unsanitary. I saw the man, immediately after rushing through my pedicure (with no massage, I might add) start doing another woman's toes with THE SAME EQUIPMENT. If I could give zero stars I would. Got a gel manicure and pedicure and WITHIN 48 hours I have chipped toe polish on multiple toes, and only gel on 3 out of 10 of my fingers. So disappointed. DO NOT GO TO CINDY'S NAILS! I just left there after the worst mani/pedi experience ever. The problem started when the technician cut the side of one of my fingers so badly it was still bleeding 15 minutes later. Ok, mistakes happen. But as I was sitting under the dryer, I realized it was not even a good manicure. The ends of my nails were rough and there were still pieces of nail hanging off the ends of several fingers. I asked the girl at the front desk if she was the manager, and told I was really not satisfied the manicure. She pointed me to another technician who immediately started removing the clear polish. Now first, I tried to explain the polish was not the problem. I just needed have someone finish filing my nails. She just kept removing the polish, so I asked to to skip over the finger that was still bleeding. At first she did, then she grabbed my hand and starting scrubbing the polish off my finger that was still bleeding! I told her she was hurting me and asked her again to stop. Finally, I said enough, and went back to the manager. I told her I would be happy to pay for the pedicure, but I wanted a refund on the manicure. SHE FLAT OUT REFUSED!!! I am standing in front of her, my finger still bleeding, no polish on my nails and the ends need to be properly filed, as she says "no refund as because I received the service." So Ms Manager, please know I have stopped payment on the full amount, and will never come back. I am writing this review and any other online reviews I can find to warn people about your truly horrible service. I understand technicians occasionally nick a cuticle, but this went beyond that. Even then, I willing to let your business rectify the problem. But when that failed, I just wanted to leave and felt it only fair I should not have to pay for the completely botched manicure. Cindy's is the best nail salon in the area. Cindy and her husband are so friendly and very funny, always joking with customers and making sure you're happy with your service. Their staff is also very friendly and great at their job. I've rarely had to wait for a pedicure and my gel manicure always lasts the longest when I get it done here. I went back and decided to give them another try. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong decision! My nails were done in such a hurry. There was residual polish on the sides of my fingers, as well as residual acrylic residue. I asked them to kindly remove it and they just said, "it will wear off on its own. What?! That's not what I paid for. I shouldn't have to pick the smeared marks around my fingers off myself. I really wanted to give them a try again and in my heart, hoped it was going to be a nice experience. I can't say I didn't give them another fair chance. They have really changed since they moved from that quaint little house that they started in. The customer service, the lack of friendliness as well as the hurried environment was less than appealing. I went here last Friday the 14th and usually don't go to random salons. So I walked in and waited for 25 minutes and had an appointment. Then Cindy is the one who did my nails. She was wearing a mask but she was sneezing and coughing basically she was sick as a dog. She started talking about the vaccine and saying "American people just need to do their part and get vaccinated, because this is America." Then I asked her how long she had been sick and she stated that "she was not sick and she was fully vaccinated" and she could not get sick with covid. So then she continued to ask me over and over again if I was vaccinated and I stated that was private health information and your not privileged to know that. After two days my nails were chipped and on top of that I got sick because of her negligence of closing her business down while she was sick with covid. Someone needs to be notified that Cindy of Cindys nail salon is operating a business while covid positive. And potentially spreading the virus to others in the community! I live in the neighborhood and visited Cindy's for the first time last week (FRIDAY). I received a gel manicure. I had gel on my fingernails that needed to be removed. I had the typical foil/cotton ball soak applied to the nails to remove the gel polish. The gentleman who was doing my manicure used cuticle clippers to remove the flaking gel polish which I would have been ok with, if the soak had lifted the polish off. He was basically digging the gel off my nails which kinda hurt. I asked for the soak to be applied for a longer period of time. After the gel polish was removed, my gel polish was applied. It looked nice. By Monday morning, I noticed a decent sized chip in the gel polish on one hand. I went back to the salon and Cindy removed the gel and repainted at no charge. They were super busy but Cindy (the owner) kept coming up to check on me and apologizing for me waiting. I only waited for about 20 min for my fill. Cindy ended up doing them. Worst part is this place was actually like the best once upon a time.. Only when they want to be decent. Now it seems like they've really lowered their standards. Wait time is Awful. The only two people there who know what they are doing, Cindy and her husband. I got a pedi done there a week ago and my toes were done all crooked and did a TERRIBLE job clipping cuticles to make everything look neat. The guy pinched my skin mid pedi which caused it to be uncomfortable, painful and appeared infected, but luckily it went away after a couple days after. Then a couple days ago I went to get my nails and brows done for a graduation ceremony. I waited and waited, no one bothered to speak to tell me anything regarding wait time or anything. I also needed eye brows done so after an almost hour wait they just pushed me into the room to just sit there for another 15 min and no one ever came to do my brows. I always put their small BS aside that they do because to me this was still an awesome salon so I left and came back the next day. It was the same thing then but I chose to wait. Wish I hadn't. My nails are ALL F***** , crooked and bumpy. I AGAIN had this other guy hit the side of my finger with his drill MULTIPLE times and now my finger hurts, is sore and swollen. I kept asking him to fix it but unfortunately with his lack of concern I didn't get far and am walking around with hideous nails. After he was done I asked for my brows and this was my FINAL straw. Cindy rushed me into the room, DID NOT wipe my makeup off of my eye brows like A NORMAL technician would because common sense you need to tell what you're about to wax. She rushed and irritated my skin so bad. I've been getting waxed for years and never had my skin get so puffy and red after. She also didn't even care to wipe away the wax when she was done. Today I went to Cindy's Nails on harford road to get my eyebrows done. The woman who did my waxing was very rushed and wanted to get me out quickly. The wax she used was hotter than it should have been but not unbearable. She told me my face was very red after she was done but I didn't think anything of it. Ten minutes later I realized my skin really hurt and looked in the mirror to see that I was burned and my skin was peeled off. I called the store to let them know and they told me to stop by. I then got a call back from them and it was the lady who did my eyebrows. She insisted she didn't burn me and that they could only give me neosporin and no refund. I then went to the store to be told that I was lying and she did not burn me. She then told me that she would give me my money and told me I was never welcomed back. After she gave me my money, she laughed and rolled her eyes saying that she never burned me and I came in with the mark to begin with and blamed me for it. I've been going to Cindy's for the last few months for two weeks. Phillip and Stacey provide excellent service. However today, is my last day going to Cindy's nail salon. I was waited on my Steven. When I told Steven I wanted to soak my feet, he became impatient and kept coming over. Tim, who is another nail tech in the salon came over and told me to let Steven do my feet since there are other customers waiting. There were no other customers waiting to be served. Everyone was seated and being serviced. Cindy then came over to the pedicure station to see what the problem was and I explained it to her. She then proceeds to tell Steven to not service me and for me to wait for Stacey to arrive. While walking away towards the front where Cindy sits, I asked Steven to tell Cindy to come over. He continued walking out the door and never stopped. I called out to Cindy to no avail. She is rude and ignorant and I can take my hard earned money elsewhere.
