Quality work every time I come here. Their equipment is a little old (most of the pedicure chairs don't have massagers that work and the decor is kind of old and dated) But you're not there for an interior design experience. You're there to get your nails done. And they do an amazing job. I've had my nails done by Jenny and Amy. Acrylic overlay and gel polish. I've only seen great work leaving out there. I've had a pedicure by Amy. She takes her time and is VERY attentive to details. The hot stone massage afterwards is always a treat. I've been to other shops nearby where they try to pressure you into more expensive services. Not here. You get what you ask for and they treat you respectfully. It's an average nail salon at best. The pedicures are ok, the best part is the hot towel. My main gripe is that I've gotten 3 gel manis from there and all three have only lasted a week or a little over without lifting up. Never have I ever paid 60$ for a fill. And multiple nails broke off 3 days later. Went back to get it fixed then the next day another nail broke off. This place is DISGUSTING. And on both occasions that I've tried this place, the below has been consistent. I've been to basically every nail salon in Timonium/Towson/Hunt Valley and this is by far the worst. I went on a Friday and it was busy (as expected, which wasn't the problem). Cleanliness: -There was trash EVERYWHERE. On the floors, at the stations, on shelves around the salon. I couldn't believe how much crap was all over the place. The shelves and decorations haven't been dusted since they opened and the space was downright GROSS. -The tools were not sterile. All of the tools were left out between customers and not washed or discarded. I watched this happen to me and to everyone around me. One lady was cut pretty badly and I watched them reuse those tools on someone else. There are several other reviews that state this too. They pulled tools out of drawers that had money sitting in them, and I almost walked away but I didn't want to be rude and was there with a group. I don't think I even need to emphasize how filthy and dirty MONEY is. -The bathrooms were nasty, out of toilet paper, and looked like a tornado ran through them. Paper towels everywhere and trash overflowing. I felt like I was in a port-a-potty post Ravens game. -The pedicure area is dark and I can't imagine what is growing back there. I declined a pedicure last minute because i couldn't bare risking an infection in those tubs. They use the liners which gives them the excuse not to sanitize the tubs between use .. Professionalism: -These women were loud and speaking Vietnamese the entire time. Laughing and joking and making eye contact with several customers. I can't imagine they were saying nice things based on the energy and the tone of their conversations. This happened my first visit as well, I felt like I was in the middle of a Vietnamese argument constantly and I couldn't believe whoever is in charge allows this and partakes in this nonsense. Color Selection: -They have thousands of colors, but of course the 3 colors I chose they were "out of". This happened to my friends as well. Parking: -parking is not convenient at this place. It is limited, and there is a lot of advertising that towing is likely if you are parked in a bad spot. Overall: -I can't recommend this place. It is so dirty and unsanitary, I hope the health department stops in and shuts them down. (Both literally and figuratively). read more

I went here on the recommendation of a friend and spent the whole time verifying whether or not I was in the right place. It is not horrible, but nothing really special at all. I took kind of a long time picking out the color (was in an event the next day and had to match it to something) and they were very patient with me. I appreciated that they didn't try to rush me along, which some places do. I opted for one of the pedicures w/extra scrub and massage and all that but the guy who was massaging me wasn't that great. It felt more like he was just tickling my legs and feet. The hot stones were a nice touch, but he dropped one in the water and splashed me with blue foot liquid :( I watched carefully and the tools are not taken out of the package each time. It seems like they just throw they in the autoclave or similar... The manicure was bad. My nails were uneven, the cuticles were not done properly, and he cut me badly on my ring finger. The towels and bowl they used for the manicure were all dirty. At the end, I saw several people receive short shoulder massages while their nails were drying.... I was not one of them. I'm the classic case of a nail salon jumper and I finally found my place to stay. I went to Amy once a while ago and had an amazing experience but went somewhere else afterwards based on a friend's referral (I have no idea why I did so lol). Today I had the pleasure of getting an appointment with Amy again. She fixed my jacked up nails from the other place and went above and beyond my expectations. I am a PICKY full set girl and I am usually too nice to say something to someone if they aren't to my liking.... This is not the case with her work. She is a PERFECTIONIST and it shows. She takes the time to talk to me and the entire atmosphere in the salon is professional and jovial. I'm in the customer service industry so it's nice to have good service when you give it. read more

Came here because of the reviews since its been a while that I have stayed in Timonium for a long period of time and..ugh. Not worth $25 for a pedicure! Who ever I had didnt take her time at doing anything and pushing back the cuticle was one of the most painful things I have ever felt at a nail salon! Too much pressure and then she kinda chipped the side of my nail...somehow turned it into a hang nail and took three tries just yanking it off. OUCH. Paint job was whatever. We will see how long it holds up. I got a quick polish change on my hands and that looks better ...this place is overpriced for what it is. Nothing special at that. Just loud employees who ruin the ambience of being in a nail salon with constant chit chat. To end, I want to add that my lady wasnt really dressed to work. Short shorts, a super tight revealing 'burberry' shirt and 4 inch high heels. Super confused about that but I guess she wanted to look pretty, not effecient. read more

Do not patronize this shop. They will over charge you if you don't pay attention! My first visit to this shop was great although there was a decent wait time, which was more then worth it, I received excellent service from the staff and my technician Amy. She was nice and we talked a bit as she gave me the best service I've received since moving to the east coast. I didn't check the bank after this visit. That said my second visit was the worst service I have received in my 15 years of getting manicures. I have pretty long natural nails, and normally get and SNS powder dip. At my first visit Amy talked me into acrylic powder and it worked out well for what I wanted done. At my next visit my tech suggested I simply get a fill, I've never had one before, and showed a picture of what I wanted, but with the language barrier it was hard to understand what they were saying. I repeatedly asked for the picture, told them I didn't necessarily want a fill, I wanted what was in the picture. And that they could just remove the old powder and place new powder which is what I normally have done. They refused at no fault of mine to give me what I asked for. After two hours of trying to convey what I wanted, I was told I could wait twenty more minutes for Amy if I would like. I couldn't because I had to return to work. I was in the not very busy shop for 2 and a half hours and I was over charged $35 for a pedicure $35 for a fill and $8 for eyebrows equals $78, but I was charged $95. I tipped cash and am very sorry that I did. I will never return and I will advise my friends and coworkers of the terrible service standards. I was so frustrated at trying to get what I wanted but left with a color I do not like and a subpar manicure that looks nice from the top the terrible on the sides. My girlfriend and I go in to have our nails done for graduation. She has a good experience and mine will keep me from going back again. The place is neat and clean, true they offer you water-- but my lady was awful and as cold as ICE. She literally yanked my cuticles off, causing two fingers to bleed. She got upset when she smudged the polish on a nail without noticing, gave me a dirty look as if I had done it, and dug her fingernail into my injured quick as she forcefully removed the polish with a cotton swab. YEOUCH! I considered ending the manicure. She shot dagger eyes at a customer that came back in to have something corrected: she yelled in Vietnamese across the room to the other nail technician I guess to "negotiate" what they would do to fix the problem with the customer. She kept shooting the customer dirty looks and shaking her head while another nail technician worked to fix the botched nail as Enya played in the background. All other clients fell silent and it was really, really uncomfortable. If you go to this place, at minimum avoid the older lady. She's gives a painful manicure and pedicure and is clearly miserable in her job. Customer service is lacking. I cringe just thinking about the experience. read more

I have been getting my nails done for about 15 years now so I have been to several places over the years and have been loyal to Elegant Nails now for over 3 years. I can confidently say my nails are perfect every time, they rarely chip/break/crack/lift and last for weeks! I get gel overlays with gel polish and I am always super happy with how they look! The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is much nicer than a lot of places I have been to and it is very clean. They offer complimentary drinks (water, coffee, WINE!) and even massage your shoulders while your nails are drying! I am constantly getting compliments on how great my nails look, I absolutely recommend this place, it is my #1!! read more

Well hello new nail salon! Though new, it already seems to have a loyal following with Kim as the salon owner. It is clean and the nail technicians are very efficient and friendly. As soon as they started soaking my feet and buffing out callouses, I melted into the massage chair. I decided to splurge on the callous remover and hot stone massage on my legs. Totally worth it! I had no concept of time like being in a Vegas casino. My feet were uber smooth and my toes were polished and ready for sandals. As my toes dried, I opted for the gel polish on my finger tips. This polish will stay fresh, scratch, chip and peel free for 2 weeks. This is a plus in my books since I'm really hard on my hands. So far, it has been 1 week and it is looking shiny as a new car after it's first waxing. I think it just may be worth the splurge for the gel. I can't wait to go back. read more

Solid place to get a mani pedi. They seem to be specializing in gel manicures these days. T, Ann, and David have all done great work on me. Walk-in or call and make an appointment. Once you are there, sign in, pick a color, and wait (not too long). Gel colors are in the top drawer of the first table next to the door. Non-gel are in the bottles on top of the table, by the sign-in and against the wall. They offer water, wine, and coffee. If you want some, just ask. The techs are all business, but they are pleasant and friendly if you strike up a conversation! read more

Last night I was extremely disappointed in the service I received at my favorite go to nail salon. I arrived around 7pm to receive a pedi and full set. I signed in and when asked shared. As I waited, I noticed that 2 women got called before me although they arrived after I did. I didn't read much into it because I knew they were busy. However, a nail technician asked around 7:45 if I was getting a mani and pedi. I said, "No...pedi and full set." She snickered and replied, "Ok." At 8:42 pm I was called for my full set. I inquired, "Oh, we're doing a full set first? I usually get my pedi." He abruptly said, "No. You were called for a pedi and said no." I shared, "No. I corrected your employee about what I was getting done and waited." He then huffed and said, "Well it's 8:45 and we closed at 8. So I won't get out til 9:30 now. I can't have my employees stay so late and I can't either. You pick one." At this point everyone in the salon is staring at this encounter. I paused and said "No. I've been waiting. No thank you. " I immediately left. I share because tonight's experience really disappointed me. The fact that I waited for two hours and he rudely shared how he couldn't stay late bothered me. I walked out because I refuse to give my hard earned money to any person who does not deserve it. read more

I went with 3 of my friends and it was a terrible experience. I give them 2 starts because Tommy did our pedicures and was super nice. 2 of my friends were bleeding due to the tech ripping their nails off. My almond shape nails looked terrible and no one there knows how to paint nails. They were lumpy and not smooth at all. When I voiced concerns no one cared enough to speak. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and sat down for my pedicure. I received the "special pedicure" that included the basic grooming, polish, a scrub, 4 minute massage, hot stones, & hot towel. The massage and other services were great but the polish was done rather messy. I definitely have to clean it up with a q-tip on my own time. I told the technician it could have been cleaned up a bit but the salon was so busy he moved on to the next customer. It seemed to be uncontrollably busy by the time my service was over. For $30 I enjoyed the process but I'm not thrilled about touching up the work on my own. read more
