I absolutely loved the renovation to this movie theatre. My friend and I caught the early matinee for only $7.50. I felt like I was watching the movie in the comfort of my home. The leather seats were wide and so comfortable. They also had a power recliner which really excited me. The seats were staggered so you didn't see anyone's head in front of you. That was really nice. This is the cleanest & largest movie theater in the area. I saw Marry Poppins Returns with our son today and the theater was spotless. I hadn't been to this location in a while but I noticed they changed the seating and now they are all recliners...so comfy! Ideal place for a matinee or date night. Tip: They've updated their safety policy so if you have a purse or bag larger than 12" x 12" they will make you leave it in the car. read more

Tinseltown shows action blockbusters, animated kid flicks and occasionally, classic films. Unlike any other theater I've been to, they have an in-house Starbucks immediately to the left. Everyone seems to rave about $5 Tuesday's. So for those of you on a budget, Humpday Eve is your time to shine. Other than that, popcorn, candy and slurpees are the standard, inflated price. The parking lot is massive. And there are plenty of restaurants to dine at before or after your movie. Seats are comfortable, except the one next to me creaked like there was no tomorrow. Plenty of bathrooms around the theater to relieve yourself in a jiffy, too. (Sorry, someone had to mention it) With a central location, surrounding restaurants and easy access, I'll definitely become a regular at Tinseltown. Can't wait to see those classic films! read more

We came to Tinseltown to watch Creed II and were so excited to try out the reclining chairs. We were not disappointed. Seriously these chairs are a game changer!! They are comfortable and recline way back with built in cup holders. The theater we were in was small with just a few rows up the stairs and 3 down. It made it feel more like a private home theater which we liked. So why not 5 stars? We felt the security was seriously lacking. Multiple (20+ not joking) people came in and out of the theater throughout the movie. I'm not sure if they were lost or just theater jumping but all would come in, sit down and then leave after a few minutes. There were also a few teens talking throughout the movie. We could also hear the movie next door very clearly and it really was a distraction (along with all the others). At the end of the day we would return for the reclining seats and sound system but we still prefer our own home for movie night! read more

Love the assigned seating, very convenient and you know you'll have a seat. Really nice when a good movie is coming out. Reasonable prices for tickets on a weekend. I used fandango. An excellent deal on Tuesday's- $5! I highly recommend buying your tickets online a day or two in advanced as it's assigned seating (recliners) and they seem to go quickly. Online convenience fee of $1.50, or its waived if you are a movie pass member. There's a huge parking lot and several ticket windows, plus self-serve kiosks inside. Employees have been friendly on every visit. The theater isn't spotless, I found some old popcorn in my cup holder tonight but otherwise I felt comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby in the Tinseltown area. Overall, my preferred theater! read more

I am compelled to write a review on Tinseltown. I am a regular movie goer and it makes me happy to see that Tinseltown re-invest in itself by remodeling its theatre by updating theatre seats and putting in an XD theatre. Watching Resident Evil 3D in XD was pretty awesome.... And I have to thank whoever that made the decision to change the color theme of their bathrooms... not so much of an eye sore when walking in to be blinded by the neon green and pink or whatever it was before, not to mentioned that's usually right after walking out of a dark theatre.... read more

For a reclining seat movie theater, wasn't too impressed. The seats didn't go very far back, so just imagine sitting on your sofa with your legs up. It was quite uncomfortable honestly - just awkward angle. The popcorn was underwhelming. I go to the movie and always get movie popcorn, and this just didn't do it! Tasted slightly stale and lacked flavor (aka salt). So I had to ask for salt. It was depressing. Went on a Tuesday so it was 5.25 a ticket and you definitely can't beat that. I need to check out the other theaters in the area for comparison, so with that being said, I'm still looking for my new movie theater in Jax. read more

This is probably the best theater in town. With their recent remodeling, the place looks even better, and the XD screen can't be beat, especially since you can watch both IMAX and non-IMAX movies on it. I did have an issue last time I was there because whoever was running the projection was slacking. The 3D trailers were messed up, looking pink and green. I went to complain, and after finally finding someone, he took a look at the screen and said that the trailers do that sometimes. Now, I've been here plenty, and I've even seen these trailers in 3D before. I know what they're supposed to look like, so his excuse didn't sit well with me. Aside from that incident, this theater is still the best in town, and they will continue to receive my business. read more

On the way to the Friends with Benefits preview, I send a friend a text message to invite him to see it. Me: Hey, Friends with Benefits tonight at 7pm. Friend: Sure! Me: Um.. it's a movie. Friend: Oh.... LMAO. (Btw, no, there are no benefits between us.) The sneak preview thing went pretty well. It's more organized here than it was at the sneak preview for Transformers 3 at AMC Regency Theatre. If you get cold easily make sure you bring a jacket cause it can get cold. Ok. So I'm impressed. I came to this theater because of a Fandango gift card. I choose a theater that matched a good time and distance from my home. I had no idea theaters charge different rates. On the outside, it's not much different than any other theater. In the concession, I immediately noticed the cost is different. I was pleasantly surprised by the lounge chairs (although it's blasted on the outside wall of the theater). I am a rewards member for another theater, but it may be worth it to see about his one. They have a huge parking lot that makes it easy to find a spot on any given day & their food options have 2 areas where you can order regular theater food or hot to order items (burger & fries). Most of the time that I end up going to Tinseltown happens to be for a pre-screening of a movie that is about to be released. Their policies seem to be getting tighter and tighter with every screening. I can't knock a free movie, but sometimes it seems more overbearing than it should be. There are two eateries to choose from. One with regular movie food and another with burgers, hot dogs, coffee, etc. The Chicago Dog that I had was fantastic. Unfortunately, the prices are pretty high. I usually just get a drink and forego food. Tinseltown, easily, is one of the most comfortable theatres in town. I could not get over how comfortable the seats were, usually I'm uncomfortable by the halfway point in any other movie theatre. At this one, I could sleep in these seats. read more

Cinemark Tinseltown is one my favorites theaters even though it's a bit far from me. I really enjoying seeing pre screening and $5 Tuesday's movies. Plenty of parking and you can always find a space on either side of the theater. There are plenty of foods stops along the way, and outside of the theater on Southside Blvd - Wendy's, Chick-fil-A, McDonald's, Moe's, etc.; however, inside the theater they have two areas for hot food, Starbucks coffee and smoothies. Nothing like fresh hot popcorn and jalapeños and drink. Also, the staff is very friendly and courteous. Grab the app and join in for some great free items . I guess it's time to start giving a review for this theater. I've been coming here a lot more than normal the past few weeks. One of the one things I like about this theater is that they have the early bird special. I believe if the showtime is before 12pm, you pay about half price of the normal price for a ticket. When it comes to watching a movie (new or a few days or weeks old), I like to come during the early morning especially in Sunday's. Barely anyone is there in the AM, which is perfect. My fiancé and I love it because sometimes it's just us which is a perfect date for us :). Also love the popcorn portions. We always get the large drink and large popcorn tub and you get 1 free refill (which is plenty). Really like coming here. Just wished that concession food wasn't so pricey. read more

I have been at this movie theater twice and I'd say I will come back for more. Depending on where you are of course but this place is not that difficult to locate. Huge parking lot, just don't be lazy for a bit of walking if it's a movie night due to the crowd and you're sure to find a spot. For the most part, place is clean and well maintained (entrance) from my observation. Depending if you already have tickets or what not, wait time in lines depends but on general, decent. Food of course is available and I'd say not too bad for the price and huge basket of popcorn for those who like to eat and drink while enjoying the movie. I personally don't hence no need to feel annoyed if you want to see every scene haha! Movie house itself is clean and decent. No nasty odors nor random small trash in sight. Chairs can recline electronically which is pretty cool and relaxing. The chairs are not too cramped so there is enough room for people even if it's a full house. You would really enjoy the movie in that kind of comfort. Sounds are very good. You can definitely hear and feel the action and scenes of what you are watching. There are a couple of restrooms available so you won't have to hold on it for too long if you decided to watch the movie from start to credits. I haven't really purchased the tickets myself on the two instances I have been here (lucky me) but there's always a first time. read more
