They were meant to shine! And not just to be stars, but Superstars! I'm talking about my girl Taylor and her Life... The Life of a ShowGirl Yes, for 3 days only (October 3rd-5th 2025), Taylor Swift had a release party in theatres where she broke down all 12 songs from her latest album showing behind the scenes looks and giving fans an inside look of each song and their meanings. Of course, the best part was showing every aspect of the making of her music video for her hit song: The Fate of Ophelia. The amount of detail, creativity, passion, and the dedication for absolute perfection truly showed why Taylor is a master of her craft and why she is a true Icon in the music industry. ----------------------------------- And here is how it went down... I had seen that this special release party was going to be released in theatre's at the same time that we were going to be visiting Palm Springs for the weekend so I secretly purchased tickets in advance to surprise my wife and 3 daughters. The day of the show, we drove from P.S. to La Quinta and made our way to the Century Theatre's. Once inside, We grabbed our popcorn, our candy, our Icee's and at 12:00 sharp, it was Showtime! Not really knowing what to expect about what we were about to watch, I was excited to see my 3 daughter's faces light up and watch how their eyes were glued to the Big Screen with anticipation. Fast forward to the end of the film... Wow.... Wow. Wow. Wow!!! Talk about Epic! I was so glad we were able to experience this on the big screen, it really gave insight to her album and a better appreciation of her talents and why we are fans. The Century La Quinta Theatre is top notch and made the experience memorable. Clean, premiere seating, and a great concession area... How going to the movies should be! So.... We used to love coming here. Especially in the summer time seats were very comfortable couch like that reclined. Made you feel like you were at home. The theater air was cold as ice. It was an amazing place to get a rest from the heat for a couple hours with the children. Our most recent trip we experienced newly remodeled seats. Extremely uncomfortable cannot recline as far also very small space keeping you segregated from family right next to each other. It was a hot day but inside was not at a cool temperature. The only nice feature the new seats have is a heater. This in the desert can maybe be used once a year. I will be canceling my membership which I used to love and highly utilize. Very disappointed. I hope they listen to there customers and bring the old seats back but most importantly turn down the temperature. read more

Wow we had the worst experience ever! We bought tickets for mortal combat days before the premiere. So we show up get our popcorn all our snacks then head to scan our ticket and guess what! We are told our tickets are sold to someone who paid 8 dollars more for them. Like WTH is going on! How is this even a thing! We then are approached by the general manager and he has a list of seat that are available. Which of course they only had the 2 front row free. I can't even tell you when was the last time I ever sat in seats where my neck starting hurting! I was so so upset so embarrassed and disappointed on how this was handled! Saw Wicked II this morning matinee in the XD theatre. The sound and picture were flawless. The venue has comfortable seating and wide seat pitch which allows others to pass you while seated without having to pull your legs back - even in a fully reclined position. I recommend the loyalty program because free movie credits roll over and the snacks are discounted. Best movie theatre in the desert. read more

We caught a later showing and it was pretty trashed. The lobby had popcorn on the floors, in the lobby, the walkways and in the theaters. The bathrooms were super dirty, they had paper products all over the floors. Most of the stalls were unflushed, sprinkled on and were empty or running low on toilet paper. When our movie finished, we had walked to the main lobby assuming that was how to leave as well. It was our first time here, but the usher/cashier had demanded we leave since they weren't open anymore. Embarrassingly we backtracked and followed other attendees out some side door. I know in the summer they have discounted movies for grade school children, so we might be back then to try it out. All in all, due to the employee interactions, it's not our first choice of theater here in the Valley. I'd rather take a little longer of a drive to go to the Regal cinema at the River. read more

This theater just went through a remodel. I got a look at the transcript of the conversation that helped inspire the new seats. --"We want our patrons to feel young again. Why don't we have mandated desks installed on every seat? You know, the ones you had to slide behind in class? Wouldn't that be great?" -"As long as we are on high school, let's think about pda. How can we prevent families from feeling close?..." --"I know! Let's make the arm rests locked, and the seats about six inches too deep!" -"Yeah! That way they aren't really arm rests, but more like corrals!" --"Keep all that handholding, or sharing of popcorn out of our theaters!" -"Oh! And by making the seats too deep, that will ensure that the mandatory desks will lift a popcorn bag in the view of the screen!" --"But, couldn't they just hold the bag in their lap?" -"Hmmm, you're right...what to do, what to do?..." --"I got it! Let's make the desk so close the customer that you can't hold anything in your lap!" -"Yes! I love it! And that will be sure to hamper the comfort of anyone who is older, or who struggles with mobility, or who does not match the model figure we want in our theaters." *end scene* My back hurts, my neck hurts. The arm rests are comically too high, the seats are ridiculously too low, the desk either locks you in or points outward into the aisle. There is no way to get in and out comfortably. If you put anything on the desk, it gets in the view of the screen. Read the reviews, Cinemark. I'm not the only one. This is the "upgrade" we didn't ask for and nobody likes. read more

Since the theater remodel, the comfort level has plummeted. The new chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. The recline doesn't go back far enough, the leg rest is awkwardly bowed in the middle, and the tray tables are practically useless. It's clear that the new design is a step down, and I'm now looking for a more comfortable movie-going experience elsewhere. read more

Out of town and came here for a family movie day, great location with lots of parking and love that it was close to everything and restaurants. The reclining seats were comfy --too comfy I fell asleep for like 15 minutes, with the heat the cold air was nice. Every once in a while you encounter a business that is so ignorant of customer service, and/or employees of a business that are so ignorant of customer service, that you wonder how they continue to operate. That is the case with this theater. Yesterday, my wife purchased two tickets to a movie. She thought the tickets were for today, but she made a mistake and the tickets were for yesterday. When we arrived and were told the tickets were for yesterday, the woman talking to us said in no uncertain terms that we would have to pay for new tickets to see the movie, and that was that. We asked if there could be any type of accommodation since this was a simple mistake, but nope, we had to buy new tickets. This was said to us in a very officious manner, clearly indicating too bad for you. The failure to offer any alternative...other seats, a different showing, a reduced ticket price...was clearly how this was going to end from the start of the discussion. I understand that the theater needs to be careful so as not to get taken advantage of, but my wife and I are in our 70s and wouldn't present to any reasonable person as scammers trying cheat the theater. This was a simple mistake. In any event, we left, frustrated and angry. Finally, special recognition to the person we tried unsuccessfully to deal with and who found it more important to turn her back on us and bs with some of her coworkers while we were trying to resolve the problem than to talk to us. You held the line; you didn't give in; you did your employer proud by refusing to help us in any meaningful way. Moron. read more

It is a decent theater. Clean. The new D-Box seats were fun. The remote lets you adjust the intesity in which the seat vibrates and moves. Wish they had a flavored sparkling water or unsweetened tea. read more

Century La Quinta is a welcomed addition to the high desert. Built several years ago, it made its way thru the pandemic to the other side. I walked in the doors into luscious A/C from the 109 heat, which is heavenly anytime you can get relief. The setup is like a million newer movie theaters: a ticketing / customer service station and then a super snack bar...no, not just your ordering counter type...lots of options, some that you grab yourself all the way to the cashier. You show your ticket or online app, and walk to the screening room. Not too small, not too large...with leather recliners and sofas as seats. Cool! All went well. $7 for an early show of Elvis...awesome price. Yes! read more

The most grumpy people work here. I come to theatre, movie Tuesday, ten in the morning. I just want to enjoy commenting on the trailer and engaging in tomfoolery on letterboxd. A woman, a Cinemark employee, comes into the theatre tells me I can't be on my phone?? It's the trailers. This is a free country but the ticket wasn't it is well within my rights as an American citizen to be on letterboxd during the trailers. She also kept coming into the theatre throughout the movie it was very distracting and caused my schizophrenia to act up which was unpleasant. All that said I met a very nice couple at the theatre, ended up spending a crazy weekend with them in the countryside and ultimately it went array. Now I have another kid and it's all this woman's fault. I will be coming back to this theatre... NOT. read more

My go to spot for catching a movie. I had the day off so I went and enjoyed an early matinee. Nice big XD theater with comfy lounge chairs. Tbe staff is friendly and provide good service. Good snack selections. You can get a beer or wine at this theater. Good spot for movie watching. read more

Went to this theater to see the new Twisters movie and it's been awhile since I've been to the movies! This place however is a lot newer than most of the theaters in the area! We purchased our tickets online and got to the theater with a lil bit of time before the movie started! As we walked in the place was very nice and clean and when went to the concession stand to purchase our drinks and I was surprised they serve alcohol and wine but I got a beer! Didn't not get any snacks or munchies as we had just got done with dinner before the movie! Service was very quick and friendly and after we got or drink we proceeded to the ticket booth / taker to check in our tickets and proceeded to our theater to enjoy the movie! The theater was very clean and had big oversized lazy z boy style recliners that were very roomy and comfortable and even reclined so you're able to kick your feet up and really relax and enjoy the movie! Highly recommend this theater for everyone in the whole family or even for a date night! Next movie I see will be at this theater since it was so nice and clean and comfortable and service was quick as well!!! read more

One of the best theaters out there! My family and I went here on a short trip to see a film and the experience was great. The prices are extremely reasonable for a "luxury" movie theater. They offer a selection of food, gourmet popcorn, ice cream, a full Starbucks menu, a candy bar, and multiple refrigerators with many different drink choices and icees/fountain drinks. The seats inside the theater are huge! They recline and are very comfortable and extremely clean! The screen is huge and the sound is great. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for something to do in the area!! read more

Horrible experience last pm. We are in the Cinemark members program and purchased tickets, food and drinks from the app. Arrived at the theater and saw trash cans overflowing with trash outside. Our pre order of food was not ready and the large bottle of water was not available. Without the bottled water that we preordered and prepaid for the manager offered us tap water from the soda machine. Unacceptable. When I asked for a refund, she acted like she was out out to refund us the $4 bottle of water. The popcorn was cold and seemed like it was old and had been sitting for a while. The bathroom was atrocious. The smell of urine was so overwhelming and the piss on the floor was absolutely gross. I am so glad I had boots on. This was such a surprise that this was a Cinemark theater. I will never the back and will not refer anyone to this vile facility. read more

This was my first time coming to the movies since everything has happened with the pandemic. Every person I dealt with was so nice and friendly. I couldn't use my popcorn bucket and cup so they were able to still apply this prices to my concessions. They gave me a big popcorn! Extra butter yumm! The theater was very clean and smelled really good! The hallways were clear and clean! Our exact theatre room was so clean. Everything was fresh and smelled good! I cannot wait till we come to see another movie! The sound quality and picture quality was really great as well! We had our whole row to ourselves as well! It was a really great experience after not being able to come to the theatre for so long! Also used the bathrooms and they were very well stocked and clean! Lots of paper towels and soap. I attended the opening night of "A Haunting in Venice" and on my way out I dropped my expensive sunglasses between the seats in the row in front of mine. Since the theatre lights were to dim for me to locate them, I asked the first employee I saw in the lobby area if he had a flashlight. Although he was occupied, he immediately followed me to the area where I thought my glasses should be. I was wrong. James literally lifted the back of several seats until my glasses were found. This took about 10 minutes and the entire time he was patient, helpful and confident that the glasses would be found. I was appreciative and grateful for his very cordial and super-efficient manner while assisting me. If I had my own business, I would hire him in a heartbeat. His positive customer service attitude was a welcome breath of fresh air and was the perfect ending to my movie night out. Thank you again James. read more
