Wednesday, 4-15-2026: This is our second time here. We came to see Kyle and Mistie Knight. Mistie has her own Instagram where she shares very quick & easy recipes. When I heard they would be at Marvyn's, I made sure to secure tickets. The theater is nicely laid out and makes for an intimate experience. They have entertainment before the start of the show and an amazing bar. I believe this show was sold out. In the seating area they have hilarious sayings on the screen over the stage. Wish I could remember them. Photography is forbidden in the theater. Anyhow, they are true entertainment professionals and know how to work the room. There were several things they did that we had our mind boggled. But we're the types who don't want to find out and rather like keeping the mystery intact. Not sure how you rate a magic venue since the magician has the biggest impact on whether you enjoyed the night or not. Having said that... On a recent visit, tickets were $75 each plus a small fee. That's a decent value for a 75 minute show. The doors open an hour before the show. Since you have an assigned seat, you don't need to show up too early. If you do come early, there's a lounge with a bar (but no food) and some live entertainment with magic and music. There are specialty cocktails, a few wines, and draft beer. I don't remember the prices but it didn't seem that high. The theater fits about 130 people but you have a good view even in the back row. The seats themselves were comfortable. The magician invited multiple people up on stage, and not just those in the front row. There is a lot of improv blended throughout. I enjoyed the visit. read more

We saw the show Levant and it was outstanding. This is truly a must-do when you're in the desert. The theater is a great place to visit or bring friends when they're in town. When you drive up the theater is in a strip mall so you might not expect much, but once you step inside, it's incredible. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by friendly and professional staff and the whole place has a class-act feel. They have a full bar but no food. The bar staff is professional and attentive and there is entertainment with live magic and music in the lounge before the main show. You can arrive one hour before the show and hang out in the lounge and I suggest you do. The theater itself is intimate and comfortable, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. If you'd like a chance to participate in the show, reserve a seat in the front row. The performance was 75 minutes which was perfect. Our tickets were $75 each, which might sound steep, but it was an excellent value for the quality of the show and overall experience. Highly recommend! read more

I've been attending shows here for around 6 years. It's consistently a delightful and wonderful experience. Of all the acts I've seen, Jeff Hobson (owner), is always my favorite. We have visited Marvyn's before, but this was a special evening with magicians who had regularly performed at Warren and Annabel's theater in Lahaina, Maui. The theater was destroyed along with many homes and lives lost in the fire over two years ago. It was a special evening. The magicians were really talented and hilarious. This is a really worthwhile stop for anyone visiting (or residing in) the Coachella Valley. You will not be disappointed! read more

Our first visit to Marvyn's Magic Theater was AMAZING! Yvonne was so kind when my husband opened the door to their establishment HOURS before they opened. We apologized and explained that we were unsure if they were open or not and that we'd long been curious about their business. Yvonne kindly invited us in and gave us a FULL TOUR of their STUNNING theater! There is a beautiful lobby where one check's in... then there's a bar where there is live music and entertainment BEFORE the nightly show. And lastly, there is a beautiful theater with stadium seating for their nightly show! We happened to be having dinner a few doors down so after dinner we returned for the show! We had such an amazing time! We're hosting out of town friends in January and we've booked our tickets for an event during our friends stay! We're excited to return! read more

This place is so fun!!! Talk about a gem! I saw Lucy Darling, which I've seen before at the Castle. She is outstanding and world class. She's won awards from the Academy of Magical Arts and is highly respected for good reason. You know that this place is special to be pulling such talent to the desert. Your amazing host will entertain and delight you, and the lounge is perfect to have a drink before or after the show. His magic was impressive and, in general, he's a really nice guy. And his wife, who I didn't meet, must be up there too, adding rhinestones to his jackets in the 1000's!!! Seats are really quite comfortable, unlike similar venues with stadium seating. There are some amazing acts here and it's great for groups. Now, it's closed for summer, but they are worth the wait. Drinks are good, but the vibe is better. Parking is a cinch and there are many good places to eat nearby. read more

The family and I enjoyed the charming and delightful show hosted by the charismatic Mr Hobson. Friendly staff, quaint establishment, inviting lobby and bar, and overall a nice establishment. The owner Jeff was extremely welcoming and he performs a short pre-magic show. They have an extremely talented pianist, and Jeff's daughter Amy sings along with the pianist. Abracadabra. For my next trick, I'll make your review reading time worthwhile. Marvyn's magic theater is such a great place to celebrate your birthday, a date or when you're tired of watching Netflix. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you enter the secret door, you're invited to an entertainment resort. The host gave a great pre-show and was hilarious. Non-stop laughing and by the end of the day, my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. There are drinks and bars around the area so you can enjoy have some fun before your show begins. We came to watch Nick Paul and it was a blast. I won't share too much to avoid spoilers but if you're interested in knowing what his show is about, check out some of his works on YouTube. We came to celebrate a birthday and my partner and I were in the front seat. It's only once a year so I highly recommend splurging so you can get the best seat in the room for the full experience. For a venue in a strip center, you'd never guess the surprises inside. A beautifully, clean, welcoming venue. Entertainment in the lounge before (and after) the late show! Definitely check this place out! We live local, and were apprehensive due to pricing of tickets on the higher side (especially for a strip mall location), but we decided to attend a recent comedy show for $55 a ticket and it was spectacular and well worth it! We love Marvins magic. We've been there many times and when guests come into town, we bring them. We were there for the J Johnson show which was excellent. My only advice would be to loose those Marvins magic plastic cups. How many of those can you use, make drink less expensive please. Or perhaps give people a choice if they want the souvenir cup. So we attended Jay Johnson's The Two and Only, which was SPECTACULAR! If you have the chance to see him... RUN! My problem was with the venue! At 5:50 (the show was to begin at 6:00), we were all in the lobby sitting and socializing. We had NO idea the doors to the theater had been opened! When I asked the young woman who worked there if they were going to announce the doors were open, she said no! Also, there was a magic presentation KEEPING people in the lobby before the show, so THEY didn't know they could take their seats. The show started 15 minutes late because of this! Also, during one of the quietest moments towards the end of the show, I could hear the piano playing through the walls! Who was he playing for? We're all in the audience! If I were Mr. Johnson, I would have been LIVID! Do better Marvyn's Magic Theatre! read more

Was here on March 2nd to see Dana Daniels, who I have seen before, and is always great. This venue is located in a shopping mall and if you were not looking for it, might not notice it. There's plenty of parking. Once inside, there is a small gift shop and bar/lounge where prior to the show, a magician was performing. We skipped the lounge as it was a bit congested, grabbed a drink and took our seats. An odd side note - they serve wine in glasses that have what I would call a plastic "sippy cup" lid, like we used to put on young children's cups so they wouldn't spill. Maybe that's a sign that we are part of a senior crowd, lol. There's a projection screen on the stage where you can watch the lounge magician while waiting for the main show. The room is well designed with good height difference between each row (level) so there's no problem seeing the stage. It's not a large room and holds what I estimate to be about 100-150 people in an indoor amphitheater format. The owner (Jeff) does a warm up act that is a little bit slapstick for my taste, but it wasn't too painfull to sit through. Dana Daniels as the main act was fantastic. It seems a bit odd that show started at 6:00, even though no food was on offer. The good news is when the show is over, there is plenty of time to have dinner. The price at $75 seemed high for a 75 minute show, even with a known magician. Overall, we had a fun evening. With the right act performing, we will definitely be back. read more

The best! I had no idea what to expect as magic isn't my thing, but now I want to go e wry week. Jeff Hobson was great MC (hilarious). The main performer last night was Kevin James. He nailed his tricks! Soooo funny & entertaining. Highly recommend and I can't wait to go back. A perfect birthday activity. Note I should have called ahead for my bf's birthday.
