We came here on a Monday afternoon and there were not a lot of people here (not surprising). There's not a whole lot to say but it was a clean move theater with reclining seats. It was really comfortable and it was nice to be inside and away from the Arizona heat, even if only for a couple of hours. There is a ton of parking in front of the theater and the tiny bit of employee interaction we had was nice. read more

Went here to see the movie Game Night today. Good movie however, the cinema was very interesting indeed. To me the interior decoration looked gothic like a time warp into the past. My wife thought it was more reminiscent of the American Horror Story Hotel. The patrons were quite a site as well. It seemed like we were extras on a AHS Hotel set. Maybe it was the long long long corridor connecting all the cinemas giving me vertigo and reminding me of The Shining. Who knows? Anywho, the recliners were bigger and better than their competitions. The walk space between the recliner foot rest and stadium seat wall in front of me was extremely generous. Definitely a plus! Great experience Cinemark!! Thanks!! read more

We had a couple of hours to kill after lunch so we opted for a movie. Came here around 12:30pm and used our MoviePass to get tickets for Pacific Rim 2. There was no one at the ticket booth so we used the touch screen to get our tickets. It was a first that I used the MoviePass without an attendant and I'm glad it was a smooth process! The overall facility was pretty clean and the attendant who checked our tickets was perky and nice which was surprising for a matinee. I loved that the seats recline here! Customer service was awful. Came with my family to see a movie thanksgiving night. Whoever was running the concession area was horrible. I was clearly waiting in the line to order, not a single person behind the registers greeted me or asked if they could help me. They all stared down at their register screens or continued talking with each other. I wait a solid 5 minutes before I have a line of people forming behind me. Finally someone behind me asks if someone can help. One of the employees looks up, stares at me and says "we don't do refills." And nothing else. Not sure why they would make me wait 5 minutes in line just to tell me that. None of them were assisting any customers at the time. Extremely rude and unfriendly employees this evening. read more

Have been a fan of this theater since it opened. One of the best things to come from the Riverview opening in Mesa. Nice location, parking is great, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. The popcorn is really good (second only to Harkins in the Valley). Speaking of Harkins, Cinemark honors the Harkins' loyalty cups. Have seen many sneak previews, special premieres, and new releases here over the years. Always a good experience. Just saw Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (35th Anniversary - Director's Cut) there. My only gripe would be that there were not enough employees managing the concessions and even though many people arrived before the film was slated to start...we all ended up in two long lines to get our popcorn and drinks. Missed a few minutes of the pre-movie interview with William Shatner. Thank goodness this special event had that added content so we didn't miss the beginning of the movie. Loved the reclining seats and the online ordering so we had guaranteed seats. read more

The chairs are comfortable here, but I don't know that I am. Here's the deal: I don't care what political persuasion a moviegoer or theater owner is. I just care that no one is prejudice in their treatment of other ideologies. I questioned why this Cinemark has not shown any 'conservative' political films. I thought maybe Cinemark didn't want to engage in political discourse, and I can respect that; so long as they remain consistent. But now I see that after 3 consecutive flops, Michael Moore has a new film that is being shown at Cinemark. And it is a direct attack on the recent profitable Dinesh S'Souza films. So it appears Cinemark's exclusion of conservative films was intentional even at the expense their own expense. Considering the proximity of this particular theater, their clientele would largely support the showing of the film honoring the history of the United States, and debating the merits of traditional values. Giving preference to one particular ideology isn't political, its apolitical and amoral. It does not allow for one point of view to be represented by preference of another. This is where I draw the line. There is plenty of room for all civil discourse. I wish Cinemark would be civil about this and reconsider their ways. Until then they have lost the support of a family who has frequented their movie theater for over a decade. Let's play films based on their merit, and if no political film has such, fine; but one cannot argue that based on profits alone, Cinemark would do better showing D'Souza's last 3 films than Moore's, yet they blacklisted the former and gave unwarranted preference to the latter. read more

Ah, Cinemark. THE place to catch Filipino movies in the Valley. Matter of fact, it's the ONLY place to catch Filipino movies in the Valley! That alone is a huge perk. My wife and I were surprised to find nice comfy and spacious seats (think recliner size!) inside the theater. It's definitely better than other theaters with crammed chairs. Not sure if this location has free refills on large popcorn but the Cinemark I used to visit in Anahaim did so I'd assume so. The ticket pricing is also pretty fair and you can't beat the location right off the 202. read more

Movie theaters will never be the same! I am not sure if all of theaters come standard with the reclining, magic chairs... But the one I sat in did! I was satisfied with the comfy accommodations long before I saw someone else utilize the "recline" function.... I used to think the chairs that slightly rocked were great... The chairs and rows were clean and looked new. The staff was very pleasant. Standard concessions. Bathrooms were tidy and stocked. I also liked the ticket kiosks they have outside. No one seems to use them so it's a great way to bypass the lines. A+! Also convenient all of the surrounding restaurants to grab a bite before or after your show! read more

This movie theatre has amazing prices! My mom and I went here on Christmas Day to watch a movie, and loved the low ticket prices. Definately cheaper then Harkins and AMC. They show new releases, and have all the same stuff as a regular theatre..popcorn, candy, etc. They just don't charge an arm and a leg to see it, which I love! Plus, it looks like its the only one in the state?? Nice. Totally plan on going here again. Seating is wonderful, prices can't be beat, and its surrounded by a few resturants and shops so you could catch dinner and do it all in one trip! read more

My favorite movie spot. Small tucked away theater with assigned seating so no need to rush to the theater to save seats. All seats have been upgraded to recliners making the movie experience that much more relaxing. Snacks are good size and fair priced for a theater. In the past we have always enjoyed going to Cinemark. But during the watching of sound of freedom movie, they were not running the AC in that theater. I had already heard that AMC and Regal were doing that, but I didn't think that Cinemark would succumb to the idiocy and stoop so low as to do that to the people who paid money to go there. They just lost me as a permanent customer. If they don't want people to watch the movie, then don't show it. Don't offer it. Theatres can show movies that drop 15 F bombs and have sex and gore and they don't care about showing that to families and children, but when it comes to a real world issue they act like this? This movie theater is ok. I like how they show international movies. I came for A Filipino movie but I also saw posters for Bollywood movies as well! I'm a fan so I will be back for that. The ambiance ain't much but the picture quality was good enough. Snacks of course didn't have prices but I'm sure it was an arm and a leg. It was really quiet when we went no rowdy people talking through the movie. But if Was also 1:00 on a Tuesday afternoon. Came for a special fathom event showing of Labyrinth. The people here are useless. Didn't realize the movie hadn't started. Once they got it going, didn't realize there was no sound. Then they played everything but the movie. Been here before and it was fine, but 45 minutes after start time and not seeing the movie negates any past positive experiences. You'd think the least they could do is come into the theater to let us know what is going on. BTW, the manager lied to us. She said that someone from staff yelled out what was going on. Checked my ith my friend who remained in the theater the entire time. No one said anything. To the manager on duty this afternoon: the only way that something that starts late can end as originally scheduled is if you cut something out. I love this theatre! I was so ecstatic and happy that had the Filipino movie "The How's Of Us"! I love how they have international movie like this to release. This theatre is huge and has great variety of snacks to choose from. Popcorn was also good & you can use your Harkin's membership cup here as well. Everyone is so nice and accommodating here. Good vibrance! Wonderful leather recliner seats that are really comfy to sit! Affordable as well! Totally recommending everyone to come here. It's much better than Harkin's, to be honest. Love it! I'm a total fan of Cinemark! Never been to one of these before but I am glad I have now. They have reservation seating so you don't have to run and grab a seat there. You can go online by your seats take your time and your seats are guaranteed. They do have a ton of snacks for your enjoyment for the movie as well. The seats were very comfortable and clean. The movie selection is horrible. The staff is 50-50. Sometimes really rude, sometimes really nice. They have some silly rules. Seats are incredibly comfortable. I'm a little frustrated that anytime a good political documentary is available they only show it if it is from a leftist perspective. Improve the selection, have later hours, show a couple documentaries from a perspective on the right, and I would like this place a lot. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the reclining seats and how large they were. The individual theaters do not sit that many people but that is understandable considering the width of each chair. The surround sound was great! My best advice is to get there early if you have more than two people otherwise you won't get the best seat. read more

This theater is the best kept secret in Mesa. It's very clean and the architecture is very appealing. I have to give props to the staff for keeping things as clean as they do. The auditoriums are large and spacious. Each auditorium has reclining seats which are really nice especially for people who might need the extra comfort while watching a long film. My mom and I were really impressed by the prices at the snack counter. Up at the Flagstaff Harkins Theatres, movie snacks can cost you an arm and a leg. I feel that the price of snacks at Cinemark 16 is extremely reasonable by comparison. One nice thing about Cinemark 16 is that you can order tickets online in advance and reserve seats in the auditoriums. This is really convenient, especially if you are trying to view a popular movie like Star Wars. You can also earn point by ordering online or through the app which can be put towards earning food or even a ticket to a movie. It takes a while to earn the points though and I'm not sure whether or not they expire if they aren't used in enough time. But it is still a nice perk that the theater offers. One downside is that they often only have their specialty movies (like foreign films or Studio Ghibli movies for example) offered during lunch time when the ticket prices are higher so you always end up paying more for them. That being said, the prices are still very reasonable when compared to other theaters that offer similar showings of select, 3D, foreign, or other specialty films. If you are in the Mesa area and are looking for a good place to see a movie, I definitely recommend checking out Cinemark 16. It's one of the best theaters in the Valley that we have found. read more

This is seriously the best cinema I've seen. More than AMC, more than Harkins. The luxurious chair is too far too comfortable for a low price. I love it. Each cinema room holds a low number of audiences, which is a good thing because that minimizes the number of crying kids and cell phone users in the room. The chair is so big I can fit my purse next to it. Plus, this is a walking distance from my house so I don't mind the reserved seating policy as I can just go over, buy the ticket, then come back home in less than 5 min. read more

I greatly enjoy how my bottom feels on the chair. I feel Xerxes, the Persian God when my butt is nestled in that luscious chair. The popcorn is delicious and you get a free refill with the large. I too am large, so I always refill it! Oftentimes I'll even eat the rogue popcorn that others have dropped in the seams of the chair in the movie being shown prior to the one I am watching. It truly is an incredible experience, so much so, that I end up meowing like a cat uncontrollably during much of the movie, sometimes even curling up on said chair. If you are really cool, you can have reclining races with their electric reclining chairs. I bring my super neat blacked out 2004 Dodge Charger's turbo with me and attach it to my theater seat. Good prices, very comfy seats, and we like the later showtimes. My only complaint is waiting to buy food. It always seems like there are 4-6 people behind the food counter doing nothing or wiping down a counter, or on a break or something, and they let the line get long with only one person taking orders. I'm not going to wait 15 minutes or be late to a show for expensive food. They should know when to expect to be busy. But we still like cinemark, maybe we'll just bring our own food. read more

Some of their employees are first time at working Anywhere. So, whatever morals they learned at home they bring dealing with customers. Disgusting with Some, not all of them. This was my first visit.. i have to day the seats were very comfy. They were large recliners with lots of room. the theatre capacity was small. So i like the small group. Now to set this off all they needed was a bar and served food to your assigned seats. Overall the experience was satisfying. i would return. read more

Covid has really been the downfall of movie theaters. We went in to the theater and went to the concession to purchase two large drinks and two large popcorns for four people. We asked the young girl at the register for jalapeños and she asked us how many CUPS we would like. We responded 4 of just the small CUPS (assuming the small 2 oz ramekins)? She said okay and then told us our bill. We paid and then she went to start assembling our order. One of the people I was with waited for our items while we went to grab napkins etc. our friend returned to us with 4 huge BAGS of jalapeños. I went to the front to ask for a refund because 4 BAGS is a ridiculous amount but no one helped me or acknowledged me. I gave up since I wasn't going to get back to the end of the line and wait another 20 minutes. Anyway, during the middle of the movie my friend went to refill their drink. They have a sign that says, "due to covid we no longer offer free refills on large drinks and large popcorns, we instead offer a reduced price". My friend goes to the end of one of the three lines and waits. When she gets to the front the girl at the register turns away and starts chatting up her friend. My friend looks at the other girl and is ignored still but then the girl finally states, "she can't help you right now". Cool! Thanks for saying that now, after my friend has already waited. So my friend gets to the back of another line, it's been 15 minutes since she left the theater at this point. Finally she gets to the front and points to the sign, "I'd like the reduced large drink". The boy at the register says, "I can't give you a refund," my friend says, I did not want a refund I wanted whatever this sign is here," and again shows it to the boy. The boy struggles for a moment then goes to get his manager who also seemed to struggle for a moment before saying they don't do discounted refills, all prices are already reduced ($6 coke reduced!). So my friend says, "that's fine then but I've had to wait over 15 minutes missing my movie so please get me whatever you can since you don't have a separate line or multiple people working to help speed things through for those already in a movie. I should be asking for a refund on my ticket after this". To the theaters credit, the boy at the counter really hustled. But the teenage manager just turned and walked away. Horrible customer service at this place and over all just bad management under new covid policies. The movies really suck now because they try to make you make up what they lost all last year and I won't go back, at least not to this theater. read more
