I had never been to this Cinemark before going to see Woman King. This place makes my usual Cinemark in Bolingbrook look like a dive. The employees were SO nice, even with my "I don't know how this place works" attitude with the in person rather than kiosk ticket purchase. The open air concept of the mall interior and easy access concessions is nice. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The best part was the large and comfortable refiners in the small venue theater. Adore having a table to put my goodies on and enough room in the chair to easily change positions. I'm sold! I am more than happy to drive the extra 40 minutes for the nicer theater. See you at the next showing! read more

Posting just because the popcorn buckets are AWESOME. My cousin is a huge Michael Myers fan and had to get a bucket. The employee Sosa was super friendly with her purchase. He is very enthusiastic and shows me how the Tron motorcycle bucket lights up. Amazing service. We didn't see a movie just got popcorn and buckets. The workers at this cinema are very disrespectful. Today I went to go watch a movie with my younger sister and some of my family. The movie happened to be rated r, and my sister was with me and she is 16 which to mention the website says she needs to be 17, and the worker said "she is very far from the age limit" which was only a few months. I completely understand that she can't get in because she is not 17, but there was no need to make a big deal of not letting her go with me despite me communicating that I am her guardian. I am her guardian so she was with me, which I communicated to the worker. She then continued to tell me that she was not allowed in, despite me being above age. She told me that she usually asks for documentation that I am her guardian, and no where on cinemarks website does it say this, only that I need to communicate that I am her guardian, and id showing I am of age. This was very unprofessional and was singling me out. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If I could leave less of a review I would. At 2:35pm on 6/10/26 I went with some family to watch the new scary movie and backrooms. While I was 19 (so old enough to see both) the other 2 weren't, while I swapped my ticket to watch backrooms with them, we were denied entry like other patrons around us because our entire party wasn't 17+. This is ridiculous, as someone who's worked at a CINEMARK and Hollywood palms and while a frequent movie goer, I have never came across a theatre who demands everyone be old enough to see a movie. I wasn't notified of the rule until we had already had our snacks and swapped my tickets. The layout of snacks then check in is idiotic and a scam if your going to deny people because their not all above the age of 17 for a R rated movie when any other theatre will happily let you through. TLDR; if you don't want to waste time or money on a theatre that will deny your party if you're not all old enough after buying everything, go somewhere els. read more

This is the first time I've been to a movie theaters in years and I was having a great time in the movie theaters, I was watching a Daily Wire productions and as great as the upgraded movie experience was with the retractable seats, great leather seats and great audio. A group of unruly teenagers made their way into the movie theater and reeked chaos and were causing shenanigans and ruined the entertainment. Security did the best they could but it ruined the entertainment of me and the small group of people who came out to see the movie. read more

My 5-year-old son and I visited last month to watch Sonic 2 - I'm surprised by all the negative reviews, as our experience was fantastic! We arrived several minutes late and nervous that we'd miss the beginning, but even after waiting in the line for refreshments, we still managed to watch a large amount of previews. I do wish theaters in general, would share how long the previous would be, and actual start time - certainly for those with smaller attention spans! The chairs were absolutely fantastic - so comfortable and large, with built in table trays. They felt much nicer than others I've been to! In fact, my son was a little nervous with the loud theatrics, and for the latter half of the movie, we shared a seat. I noticed a small party room when we were leaving, which looked cute and a great idea for children's birthday party or gathering. The only note I'll make is that the popcorn wasn't as buttery or sinful as most movie popcorn I'm used to. We did add butter, but it tasted a bit stale or older. Personally it was fine with me - as my son didn't need all the junk! However, I was a little disappointed for me - I guess it did help me eat less. I will be visiting here again! read more

This theater has great amenities with the reclining seats, trays fir your food, heated seats, a full kitchen and they will cook to order for you, and even blankets to purchase. The young girl assisting us was extremely proficient and professional. My only frustration with this place is they will not allow refills on drinks or popcorn due to Covid. Every other theater we've been to in the past year has been relatively back to normal. I understand the hesitancy but if you're going to charge premium prices give the premium experience other contemporary establishments are giving. read more

HOLLYWOOD I must admit that I don't go to the movies a lot any more. In fact, this is only the third movie I've been to all year. The first one was a movie premiere with the cast and the second one was a documentary at the Chicago Film Festival. The other day we went to see "Daddy's Home 2" which is actually the only big budget film I've seen all year in a theater. If you haven't seen this movie then it is totally worth it. It might be funnier then the original film which I saw on an airplane. I'm worried about theaters because they might disappear one day. The film industry is on the down swig and it's because we are all streaming and watching our movies at home or airplanes. The top 10 grossing films this year are mostly comic book action films. That's the only movies people want to see on the big screen. Could I have waited for this Will Ferrell comedy on my next flight? Yeah but I'm glad I didn't. The theater was really nice. We hit the first show and actually got discounted tickets for $6.50. The prices in Chicago can get a little crazy. I'm not into paying $22 a ticket for assigned seats. I want to pick my own seat when I walk in. That's the freedom of going to the movies and getting there early. The seats were very comfy and the floor wasn't sticky or full of popcorn. I know it was the first show of the day but it could have been messy in here and it wasn't. The mall here also has a policy where kids under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. It's the first mall in the USA to start such a policy. It cuts down on the parents who just drop off their kids at the mall and leave them unattended all day. Kids that are unsupervised will find a way to get into trouble. There's food here at the theater but I recommend you hit Conecepts which is located directly across from the theater entrance. The cheeseburger is to die for at Conecepts along with their loaded tater tots. Chef Turon is a real chef who cooks real food to order. The theater is basically serving you packaged foods like hot dogs and nachos. I'll pass and get something which is delicious. Why not make it a dinner and a movie kind of night. So if you're looking for the Hollywood experience then this is the movie theater. It's clean and comfy without any annoying unsupervised children running around. I enjoy when people laugh in a movie and aren't disruptive during the viewing. I would definitely come back here again. read more

Okay, so I've been spoiled. And not just by Alamo Drafthouse, by updated Cinemarks too. This one is almost there, but not quite. Although, I will mention that I'm aware I'd probably find some 5-star theaters going into Downtown Chicago. As far as I've found this is the only theater in the Joliet/Shorewood/Plainfield area so comparing it to any other non-existent theater in the immediate area, this is top notch. This Cinemark is located inside the Joliet Mall which makes it rather convenient or detrimental to the health of my wallet depending on how you look at it. I do like that the concessions are self serve, but it is actually quite small compared to other self serve concessions I've seen. It does the job though. The theater we were in was your average theater. As I've seen in newer Cinemarks, I think this one is really lacking three things: 1. Some recycling bins; 2. Automatic reclining chairs; and 3. Assigned seating. All in all it's a good theater for the whole family. I'd love to see some upgrades, but even without them I'll still happily come to this theater. Oh and the early bird tickets are pretty great... $13 for two people! read more

Theater is great. The seats are high quality recliners, and always work, with tables for your snacks and heating for your seat! The candy's great too! One problem this place does have is TECHNICAL. On one visit, not sure bad day or not, the movie picture wasn't even working for first 5 minutes of movie, audio did. Additionally, the toilet wouldn't stop flushing for some reason after I flushed urine down. Shot back up at my shorts. Overall, great place, just occasional technical flaws. read more

Since they've remodeled, this place went from a has-been dump to a genuine pleasure to visit. We visited on two separate occasions for retro flicks and had great experiences both times. Their food and beverage prices are very fair and the staff is extremely friendly, helpful and patient. Hopefully they are allowed to open soon again once it it permissible. Went to this theater to see Venom yesterday. I hadn't been here in years. The movie was really good! The theater, unfortunately, hadn't been cleaned when we walked in. We had a horrible experience with a manager in late April, and we thought about not coming back again. I believe it was the same manager that most of the recent bad reviews are about, and he has since been let go. However, I reached out to Cinemark customer service. Mr. Offerman, the general manager, reached out to me personally and fixed the situation. I asked for nothing free and no reimbursement, simply asked for the situation to be addressed, and it was. I'll definitely come back simply because I could tell that the general manager cared, and that it was more of a bad egg situation. Everyone else I've dealt with besides that one manager has been extremely kind and helpful. Glad to see they are working toward improvement. read more

I usually go to this theater for my discount Tuesday Deals and for late night movies since it's about 5 mins from me. Tonight I went to see Shazam, and their new seats are probably the best reclining seats I've ever been in.... and they're heated too. I believe they're charging their menus around too, I even saw they have alcohol too now. I usually go out to AMC but I might be staying back in town more often. I love this theater. Joliet needed an upgrade in the worst way. I usually drive to movie theaters out of town because Movies 8 & Movies 10 just did not cut it for me. This theater is a pretty nice size, with 14 screens, and very nicely decorated inside. The seats are quite comfortable, and the sound is good! I have attended quite a few midnight shows here, and I am hooked. The junk food- I have to say I love the fact that this theater has two popcorn options! They offer the traditonal movie popcorn, and my favorite-Kettle corn!! Nice! They also have starbucks, ice cream, and lots of other menu items! read more

I've always taken my younger siblings to the theater here. The theater is now following their rules and won't allow me to pay for my siblings to see a rated R movie without my parents. This theater is a joke. Following rules one day and not the next. Don't waste your time here. Have been to this theater many times and have not had a bad experience. The theater is stadium style seatings with relatively comfortable chairs. The acoustics are well done and give the impression of sound coming from 360 degrees. The 3D movies are ok, not IMax quality, but still fulfill their gimmicky role. Parking is a bit of a hassle. The theater uses the mall parking lot, which wouldn't be a problem if it were at one of the square lots. Instead, the lot is long and thin and patrons typically have to park farther away than you would at another theater. The staff is polite and expedient. They are good about getting people to move to make room at sold out shows. When I fandango my tickets, I simply show them the digital copy on my iPhone, and the staff prints up my ticket! Also tried the kiosk last night, and it was even faster! The theater is handicap accessible and the seating has plenty of space for leg room. Took myself on a weekend getaway and decided to take myself to the movies... saw Jumanji... the theater is very clean and the seats are the most comfortable that I've been in, in a very long time... I got a pop but the pop dispenser was stuck and pop got everywhere I felt so bad but the young man working there explained it wasn't a big deal and took care of it, very positive attitude I was extremely impressed, he said "it gives me something to do." Kudos to you for having such a great attitude!!! Anyway the overall experience was a great one and prices weren't anywhere near what they are in the city. I spent less than $20 on a ticket pretzel bites (that were oh so fresh) and a pop... worth it!!! read more

Very nice seating, good deals for matinees. Not very crowded and it's connected to the mall for something to do before or after your show. Don't eat the popcorn at the first show of the day - it tasted leftover from the night before! We exchanged our bucket for a fresh one without a problem. Reusable pop cup was a good deal. Always believed this was a decent 4 star theater....until now. Prices go up - I understand - but while concessions are supposed to be ridiculous at theaters, here it is now beyond that! They now have medium sized cups for the large option. When I asked why they are now so small, they told me I could refill it once with a receipt. Yes, people want to leave while a movie is playing and squeeze in between people AND THEN WAIT IN LINE TO SHOW RECEIPT. Some creative manager found a way to save a nickel...brilliant!! The theater looks nice. Seats are comfortable. But the downfalls are their pricing is outrageous compared to other theaters 20 minutes away... And the crowd that goes there is like gang banger heaven... Or wannabe gangbanger heaven, and security is a joke if you ever need help there. If you try and be "anonymous" in telling because somebody is being loud or disrespectful security will follow you in, point the person out in front of the whole theater and make sure the person knows who snitched. Then if that person waits for your outside and gets in your face it then turns into a long night at the police station... Yes, I know from experience going to this theater. read more

This theater was pretty nice for a mall theater. Tons of options at snack bar including ice cream flavors they scoop out for you there. They ever have Starbucks coffee choices for people that want a good drink on the way in. Seats in theater leaned back just a little more than I'm use to which was nice.
