Restrooms were clean at this time and the popcorn was freshly popped! They offer many different popcorn containers with characters and swag. Parking is ample with ADA spots right out front. It appears this particular shopping center, called the Boise Spectrum Center is trying to refresh their look. Many of the previous tenants I remember have come and gone but hopefully there will be new eateries occupying the vacant spots.

They were just popping a batch and I asked if they would scoop from the top rather than the bottom to reduce "old popcorn" and the abundance of salt that falls to the bottom which she did. Snack prices are so $$ now but being able to get a refill helps. They need to make sure that there is someone for REFILLS so the person getting a refill doesn't have to miss a lot of the movie standing in line.

Nelson reached out. He wanted to make it right! And I appreciated it so much. After a few weeks, he would touch base with me. Planning a family night with grown children isn't the easiest. School and work schedules in addition to our work schedule is quite challenging to make a family date night that works for all of us. Conveniently our youngest son was going to be home for the week. Spider Man is playing so I reached out and wanted to get a night set for us. I was determined to make it happen. My second interaction in getting this in motion was with Alex. Was he was personable as Nelson? No, but he got the job done. I gave him a time that worked for us. Unfortunately my son needed an earlier movie so we had to get our movie time moved up. I messaged the day of after not getting a response from the night before due to the time I messaged him. After hearing from Alex the day of, we finally got everything set in stone. We showed up. The gal working the podium was pretty useless. I had screenshot my qr code for the extra tickets we bought. Tried talking to her about the tickets that were set aside and she couldn't help. I don't have the best reception in the theater and she couldn't tell me what theater we were in since Fandango wouldn't pull up. She ended sending me to concessions. So, I'm just curious to what her purpose at the podium is if she can't help in any way shape or form. Nelson offered us concessions in addition to our 4 seats. No one at concessions knew what to do. I showed them my interaction with Nelson. Alex hadn't given any direction since he was the last person I interacted with. No one from management could be found. A whole grip of staff asking each other with not one manager on site. Finally someone in a tank top and jeans helped out. Chloe helped us. She was doing everything she could to figure everything out. It's hard for your staff to know what to do when no one is in charge to delegate things, literally no one. Obviously they dropped the ball in communicating about our seats and concessions. Chloe handled the situation like a boss and she got us all taken care of. Poor thing had no clue but she faked it till she made it. And it worked. Was today's visit better than our last? Mehhh. It was a hair smoother considering it's a week night, a school night and the fair is in town. The gal at the door was completely clueless. At least everyone at concessions was eager to help. Chloe was the star employee today. Our movie was great. Spider Man was a really good movie. We did end up with the non reclining seats since we switched times but we made it work. I don't know when the next opportunity will be for us to do family night again. But it's cool that we got to make it happen tonight despite the rough beginning.

Boise Classic Movies rents space at the Egyptian Theatre to bring Boise amazing classic films. I've…read morehad the pleasure of seeing their presentations of Indiana Jones, Grease, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, 16 Candles, ET, and Young Frankenstein--so much fun! What I love about the series is that, not only are you afforded the opportunity to see classic films on the big screen (in the case of ET? Nothing better than the bicycle scene on the big screen! Seriously!), but you also get to see that film in a theater full of people who love it as much as you do! People cheer the heroes, boo the villains, sometimes shout lines ("Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."), and the whole thing usually ends in applause. Grease even turned into a bit of a singalong (Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee...). Boise Classic Movies also arranges to bring in a bar during their films, so you can get a glass of wine or local craft beer (Payette Brewing's Mutton Buster Brown was on tap the last time I was there!). The Egyptians concessions are also open for the usual popcorn/candy/soda fare. They even gather nominations on their website if there's a classic film you're just dying to see on the big screen. Once they gather the nominations, you can go on their site and vote for your favorite. I'm looking forward to end of November/December as I understand they're primed to do a whole Christmas series of classic films!! Love it! Get to it!!

We asked for cheese burgers but they weren't making them. The sodas had too much syrup to soda water making them taste like an opened bottle of soda. The popcorn was decent just extra salty. The corn dogs are frozen foster farms that they microwave and they overdid mine. The Philly cheesesteak was slimey and obviously a frozen one they microwaved. We waited 15-20 minutes for everything. However, even with the bad food experience the movie experience was great. Hopefully the owners will offer a better quality selection of food and drinks and rely less on a microwave for everything .

This past Summer I went to this theater not once but TWICE!…read more I say it like that bc in the time that it's been open...I had never gone. Always went to the village. Went to see Jurassic World and Superman here. Loved both movies. Love the theater. For some reason I thought it would be bigger tho..or at least the lobby. I know, random lol, but I was surprised to see how small the lobby area is compared to other theaters. The theater itself is kinda small. Still, a great place to see a movie. We went for the matinee for both...to avoid crowds. Thank God for that bc each time we were leaving, place was packed on our way out. That made super happy to see....to see people still going to movie theaters despite what people say online and elsewhere. As a 90s kid when movie theaters were life! Haha especially 90s kids who grew up in a small city where we didn't have much to do...the movies being one of the biggest things to do... Point is lol, there's nothing better than seeing a movie like Jurassic World or Superman in theaters. Hell, any movie really. I hope theaters are around forever. So when you go to a movie now and see it busy like this place was...even during the matinee, it's nice. Then theater itself is suuuuuper clean! There was a mess up front where people spill shit and don't bother to clean it up, but that's to be expected?! People can be selfish and not even tell staff. Aside from that, it's impressive to see how spotless this place is. And at the very end of the movie, the staff floods into the theater to clean up. I know they do that everywhere, but there were like 10 of them when we were trying to watch the extra ending to Superman....which we felt weird with them all waiting on us...so we bounced and boooo didn't see the extra ending lol. No biggie. They were super nice about it. Prices are what you'd expect. Cheaper than the village, but comparable to most. That's the only complaint I'd have. Prices for theaters have jumped dramatically! Like ... dramatically! I get why they increased their prices, but ooof! That with buying a drink or whatever...shit is definitely pricey. The Coke pic I posted...medium was like ... $6! SIX. DOLLARS!! Chyle! That's a no from me hahaha! They have super comfortable "luxury" recliners. That's pretty awesome. Most theaters are doing this, I think? I dunno. Either way, it definitely makes watching the movie better. Still better than watching at home. Streaming is great and all, but ugh it's ruined so much. The staff is super friendly. Kinda shy a lot of them but they were nice. It was clean and the seats are comfortable. My two young kids had a great time watching the movie! The bathrooms were clean, my only complaint is that they didn't have paper towels to dry your hands and we won't use the blow dryers (those blow out mold and bacteria). They were also out of nachos which was a little disappointing but Im sure it wasn't a normal occurrence. We will be back again!
