I would not come to this particular Cineplex just to watch a movie. No.. No way! No even if the movie is free. (Amex seems do be doing a lot of their free screening at this location a lot lately!) Parking is horrible even on a weekday afternoon. Maybe I need to go to the multi level parking lot and see if parking situation is better? I can't imagine how it is on a weekend or evening. I would not like to find out. I was there 30 minute before show time and they said the theatre not ready?! I could not get in until 10 minute before posted show time. I don't know if this is normal, but definitely not what I experienced in other Cineplex locations. Will be a pass unless I am shopping at Yorkdale? I don't know I can afford that?! or I am eating at one of the restaurants or food court area?

Entrance is on the second floor

I mainly came here to see "The Lion King" (2019), and it was just okay. For the most part, it's located at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, which itself is not too far away from the nearby Cineplex Cinemas at Yonge-Eglinton and Empress Walk. It's pretty easy to get to as it's off the 401, and since it's located in a mall, it's also convenient for people to shop there as well. The theatre itself was okay, only has 10 screens, has a self-service box office, a big space for concessions, a cinescape (formerly Techtown), and two AVX theatres. I put three stars because my screening was pretty disruptive as there were so many young children in the theatre as well as many people using their phones and not being told not to do so. The children also were either crying or asking their parents about the movie, which was disturbing my experience. If you live near Yorkdale, I recommend you to check it out to see the latest blockbusters, but for everyone else, just pass it up and go to somewhere closer instead.

The movie kept pausing while watching. Kept restarting the same part. Had to leave early, 1/5.

There's a small arcade and seating area inside. It's family friendly. They have a good selection of Hollywood blockbusters and IMAX 3D movies, Korean movies, international and indie films. It was a really great film experience but it wasn't an authentic IMAX theatre as I was told by staff. It's a regular theatre that was converted. But it was the awesome staff I wanted to thank! I ordered my ticket at the concessions stand and James was very friendly and helpful. He even explained in detail each of the 3 print outs of receipts and tickets he gave me! As a long time film goer at Cineplex this is very rare but I loved the extra service from James. Give this man a raise now! I also wanted to thank David the ticket taker because he took the time to take a photo of me in front of the cool Fantastic Four movie display.

There was a seat that was broken at the back of the row and they had to keep the seat empty at this point. Not sure how they were able to handle with people buying their seat(s) online in advance. The area is a little bit moldy and smelly and is in due for a deep clean. I guess the reason why the cinema is still existent as it is linked to a mall and they get a lot of business because there isn't another cinema nearby. Parking is limited by the cinema entrance. Highly recommend to Just park further to avoid the people exiting once a movie is over. There is an arcade downstairs with games to play an and to kill time before a movie starts. Once the movie is over, can go to TNT aftewards to do some grocery shopping as the supermarket opens late.

This was my first time back to these theatres- actually any movie theatre since the end of 2019 and Covid. What surprised me the most was how the lobby area has not changed at all, out dated games, cold unwelcoming entry, same self serve counter and 1 person standing at a kiosk to take your tickers before you get to the ridiculously expensive concession stand. What annoyed me the most was paying $52 for 2 kids and 2 adults and then $75 at the concession for: Combo w/ 2 regular drinks, large popcorn and 1 candy - $27.99 2 kids combos at $10.99 each (smaller trays) 1 regular popcorn at $8.75 (smaller bags) 1 pack of candy $6.77 First of all, the fact that what they call a large popcorn now is a JOKE! This same bag used to be wider and much more popcorn! Same with the regular size. No more free refills, although people were freely walking over and refilling. This is insulting considering the cost of a large drink is $6.75. I will never return to a theatre and purchase anything from the concession stand. The popcorn was stale, the pop was flat and the bags of candy, I can get those at Dollarama or Walmart for $2.50 per bag. I did expect it would be expensive, but I did not anticipate that everything had shrunk in size for drinks and popcorn. Makes sense now why it was so empty there. Not even worth it to collect Scene Points anymore. There was 10% off the concession which is a thing of the past since the program got revamped during Covid. I was really hoping that since Covid that there would be improvements considering the movie theatres took a huge hit during the lockdowns and closures. We enjoyed paying $6.99 to $24.99 ordering home premieres at home and buying our own snacks. As a family of 4 movie night was costing us under $40. At a theatre it's ridiculous to pay $125. With these prices they have made their money back tenfold. Movie was amazing, easily 5 stars for me. The only reason I gave the theatre 2 stars is I love the idea of choosing my seats in advance or when I pay there. I don't have to worry about rushing to catch a show if I pay in advance. Will I go back? Yes, fun with the fam. BUT I will be there bag in hand with my own snacks and happily seeing movies at Markham VIP because I can choose my seats in advance and not worry that if I'm late that all the good seats are gone.

We had planned to watch Fantastic Four during the last show and booked two special-needs seats online. Parking downtown already costs more than the tickets for two, but we were looking forward to a relaxing evening. About twenty minutes into the film, a staff member approached us to explain that one of the "seats" we had booked was not actually a chair at all, but the space reserved for a wheelchair. This crucial detail was never made clear on the booking site. Unlike other accessible venues--such as the TTC or most theatres--that allow guests to choose between using their own wheelchair or a provided seat, this cinema offered no alternative except an awkward mid-show refund. The situation was uncomfortable and completely ruined our night out. Although the management responded publicly on Google in a caring and professional tone, two follow-up emails since then have gone unanswered. I hope Imagine Cinemas takes accessibility concerns seriously and improves both its booking transparency and customer follow-up.

It reminds me of the time my dad took me to see the first Indiana Jones movie when I was a kid. I went to see Capitalism: A Love Story (highly recommend BTW). A very cute older gentleman was working the counter where you buy your tickets. Unfortunately, I did have to run out to the bank machine as I had no cashish on me, and it is CASH ONLY at this theatre. 1 adult ticket is $10. They have a small concession stand (I didn't check it out - but the popcorn smelled great!). When you walk into the building the ticket gentleman is on your left and just a few feet beyond him is the concession stand. I thought it was kind of funny that the women's washroom was on the main level, but the men have to go downstairs. Huh. As I was sitting waiting for the movie to start (as I was a bit late, my wait was only 1 minute), I really saw how much has changed in the movie theatre architecture and interior design. There is no gradual grade changes for the flooring, it is just a slight raise from the front to rear seats. The seats do not recline and are shorter in height. The wallpaper is the same as the stuff my grandma had in the 70's and 80's. Heavy with a velour raised pattern. Grandma's was green, this stuff was red. The place does have a bit of a musty smell to it, but you get used to it within the first 5 minutes. The other thing that is really noticeable about this place - no commercials and no previews. You came to see movie X - you only see movie X. Also when the movie starts, they have it down perfectly with how the lights dim...a small detail, but very cool! All in all, if you are in the neighbourhood and don't want to go to a crowded, noisy theatre, check this place out. If you want to stick with an older theatre that has a bit more charm (and commercials), go to the Fox.
