The Costco sized dining area is all being organized seemingly by one man and a handwritten notepad. We were seated about an hour after our resv time in a back area where the lighting was reminiscent of a bright examination table. We sat for about another 20 mins before we were even offered a drink. Food was forgettable and literally forgotten. Nothing new to miss some apps from AYCE venues but they forgot a whole sushi platter. There should be seatbelts in the chairs to prepare you for the explosion you hear that is the birthday music. Keep your fingers crossed that you don't have to use the bathroom. Well we've been there 5 times since the soft opening - needless to say we absolutely love it. I would venture to compare to the likes of buddakhan, Tao, and Mr Chow type of vibe and fare. We are so glad to have this addition near our home and it's our new go to..... Nothing disappoints try it all and enjoy! I've been to way better all you can eat spots. There is an up charge on too many things to be all you can eat sushi. If you get sashimi there is an up charge. Passed by this place while it was under construction but finally saw that it had opened so I luckily got in for their soft opening (all meals are discounted 20%). I came with my wife and the vibe of the restaurant did not disappoint. The décor and the ambiance is 10/10 (would definitely recommend for a date night) I didn't make a reservation so we had to wait around 15 minutes. I got the sashimi platter and the salted egg lobster and you can tell the quality of both is top tier. I was pleasantly surprised by the caliber of this restaurant, given that it was in Long Island. They reminded me of some of the Japanese restaurants I frequented in LA or NYC. Nice open dining rooms with high ceilings and great authentic Japanese architecture make hair even more special. on top of that they have a great sushi menu and also serve sashimi and rolls à la carte. For folks that don't love raw fish, there are some great cooked options as well which make this a great place to host a dinner, a party, or hang out with friends. Service was attentive and on point. The food was flavorful and fairly authentic with the exception of the tiktok shrimp lollipops (which didn't taste like anything). The steak and duck were the stars of what we ordered. The steak had so much flavor from both seasoning and theil dipping sauce, but there were some chewy bits of the beef. The duck was a shocking combo with the taro, definitely order this dish for both the flavors and texture. I also enjoyed the rock shrimp appetizer, though you should eat them quickly after they come out because they lose their crunch somewhat fast. Make sure you ask for more of the table chips since they're housemade. They add a little Wasabi powder to them and fry them up fresh. I asked for some extra to bring home too.
