    Shrimp Tempura
    Rashid M.

I came here during lunch. The restaurant was very quiet with no other customers were having lunch here. I'm guessing it's because the location is hidden between nail salons and pilate studios and is not that obvious to the traffic driving by. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura and thought it was okay. Service was the same.

    Sushi for 2

Ordered take out last night and this place did not disappoint! We ordered Sushi for 2 which came with 20 nigiri sushi and 2 chef special rolls of your choice. Really liked that we were able to pick 2 rolls. The fish was incredibly fresh and quality was excellent. There was a good fish to rice ratio on the nigiri. It also came with 2 miso soups. It was nicely presented. This may be our new sushi spot to order from!

We were there for lunch and pretty had the restaurant to ourselves. Everything was very fresh and service was on point.

Kinben hasn't disappointed us--our regular spot near home. The sushi was fresh as always, and I liked the new to-go packaging presentation.

    Naruto!!

We went here twice in the 3 days we were visiting! I am SO excited about their Naruto rolls-which use cucumber ribbon as the wrapper and no rice. Generous pieces of fish! One of the best miso soups my son and I have ever had. Wonderful prices. Very attentive and patient waitress. Zen vibes with the white geometric patterned wall, tile, and dark wood tables and friendly yellow paint inside. Enjoyed the illuminated fish picture on the wall as well. We'll be back!!

We had an awesome meal on a Saturday night that really surpassed all of our expectations. I called ahead to ask if we could come in about 30 minutes. Sure, the nice woman said. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived and slowly filled almost completely. We ordered hot saki for two, a beer, and a lychee martini. Very good quality saki and my wife asked if they could tone down the sweetness of the martini which they did. For our little one they prepared some steamed broccoli and very delicious vegetable fried rice. To our surprise, she ate all of the green stuff and 90% of the rice. Impressive indeed. I ordered a soup to warm my bones and then we added some sashimi and the Japanese spring rolls. The spring rolls had a nice flaky crust that reminded me of a croissant and the flavor was very good. In the sashimi department, we had Uni from Japan (they offered two different types), red crab, scallops and some yellowtail. The freshness was very noticeable and we really enjoyed all. Mrs. me ordered the Toro Tacos and she raved about them- so much so, I had to have a bite and I agreed. I also order the rock shrimp tempura and thought the flavor was among the best I've had. The presentation and taste of the crazy toro roll was amazing. one of our favorites of the evening. Modern looking inside, The space does have one larger booth in the front of the restaurant that seems to fit at least eight people, while the last of the space has about a dozen tables that could each sit four. Along the right hand side as you enter and pass the hostess station, there is a bar with most of the basic liquors to make just about whatever you would want. Price for meal was not shocking for the level of service and the quality of the food. Paired with the clean and modern restaurant, it made for an enjoyable meal.

    Valentine's Valentines Day Package

This is local hidden gem always serves the freshest fish. And the rice.. it's always perfectly seasoned and the grains of rice is never mushy and always has a nice bite. I generally get the lunch special. However we decided to get the valentine day special for $99. The hamachi collar was grilled to perfection. This is the equivalent of eating a fish rib and the meat was firm and moist. All of the fish in the sashimi and the bento box was extremely high quality and melt in your mouth delicious! Definitely worth the splurge.

Came here for lunch! I don't live in the area anymore but heard Plainview got a new sushi place, so I had to make my way by to try it. I had the lunch special, 3 rolls for $14 served with miso soup or salad. I had salad. The dressing was really good! For my rolls I had - Godzilla Roll - spicy tuna, deep fried with eel sauce and spicy Mayo - salmon with cucumber & avocado Roll - Yammy Roll- tuna, crab, avocado and tobiko All was delicious! Everything was so fresh and just..YUM! I really enjoyed everything. The Godzilla roll and Yammy roll came with 8 pieces! Normally for lunch special places only offer maki rolls which are 6 pieces. Very surprised these two rolls were a choice for the lunch special. Very satisfying lunch! I will be back!

Red snapper Sashimi - Bluefin tuna, fatty tuna, yellowtail, salmon, red snapper Rolls - shrimp tempura, seared salmon w spicy tuna,

-food - fish quality was exceptional, compared to levels I've had in Japan (the good places) -service - top tier, friendly, courteous, and very accommodating (they even recommended recipe suggestions with the fish head in attached photo) -ambiance - clean and modern, very spacious -note: red snapper in display was a seasonal fish, may not always be available! But we enjoyed it!

Does not look exciting from the outside. Ambiance is minimal. Sushi is fresh & offerings are creative. Price & size of each dish are what you would expect. Friendly staff. Krispy Rice was one of our favorites. Waygu Nori tacos were small but tasty. Sapporo & Sake available. Decent amount of dessert options. Parking is free and the lot is big. I would eat here if I was in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

We came here for lunch and enjoyed our experience! The sushi was fresh and we loved the sushi tacos! The toro caviar taco was delicious!

When I think of hibachi, I think of Benihana, which I feel is not really authentic Japanese but Americanized food. Kind of like Panda Express for Chinese food. But I trust this friend so we went with them. My wife and my wedding anniversary was coming up so we told them and they prepared a special setting with rose petals and also a special dessert. So nice!! Omakase means to leave it up to the chef on what to eat and the chef's selections were amazing! Lobster, sweet shrimp, Uni, A5 wagyu, fatty tuna and other delicious selections. We also had a sake they recommended, which went so well with the food. The complimentary dessert was probably my favorite. All in all, a great meal. We just had omakase at Inatome recently and if i had to pick the best, I would probably say Inatome but it is very close. Sasa is much easier to get to so if you don't want to drive to Valley Stream, go to Sasa. TIP: make sure you make reservations in advance because they have to procure the seafood for the omakase.

The shopping center where this restaurant is located in Plainview is always packed and although it's plenty busy, there are plenty of parking spaces for the multitudes of folks going here or there. When seated, drink orders were taken straight away and delivered promptly. Kids got Japanese Soda and iced tea. For the adults, Mrs me and I split a hot sake and paired it with a beer and a saketini. Our friend ordered a tequila based drink and enjoyed it. Service was fantastic from the hibachi chef who really engaged us all and put on quite a show. He has the right personality to interact with a large group and presented a plate that was delicious and pleasing to the eye. Food was great and I would like to recommend the Chilean sea bass and short rib combo. Sushi and sashimi were very fresh and delicious. We decided to give them another chance and returned today, only to have another frustrating experience. We made a reservation specifically for hibachi. When we arrived and told them we had a hibachi reservation, we were simply told, "No, not right now." There was no apology, no explanation, and we weren't even given the option to wait for a hibachi table. At that point, what was the purpose of making a reservation? We ended up sitting at a regular table and still ordered hibachi dinners. To make matters worse, our food came out at different times instead of all together, so some of us were eating while others were still waiting for their meals. One of the main reasons we chose hibachi was for the experience, the ability to enjoy the meal together, and to celebrate my friend's birthday. A reservation that isn't honored made for a very disappointing visit. After giving this restaurant a second chance, we will not be returning.

We placed an order over the phone to try it out: the chicken and shrimp teriyaki with noodles and no veggies. The kids absolutely loved it! The service was just okay. To be fair, they seemed very busy, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since the food was so good. I want to come back soon to try more dishes! The shop is small but looks very clean.

Absolutely would be back here!…read more I was in the area for work and was craving sushi. This place popped up and I am so glad it did! I went for a quick stop after work and wanted something quick- (I chose to dine in). I can tell you the service was quick! The server was attentive and took my order. I was in and out within the hour. They have seating available inside as well as outside. It has a lot of seating and it looks pretty clean in inside. They also have happy hour specials. The food was great. I ordered: Appetizers: -Clear Soup: delicious! Possibly the best and most unique clear soup I have had yet. Not your typical flavor profile. This one tastes like it was made from scratch- the broth is unique- it has a sweet aftertaste to it. The soup also has spinach in it and mushroom. Very unique and tasty overall! -Calamari steak: I'll admit I was in the craziest mood for calamari- this was one of the reasons I stopped by here. I'm a big fan of Ika Maruyaki (bbq squid) and noticed this place did not have that but this instead- I saw good reviews on it so checked it out- I will say while the calamari was cooked perfectly, the flavors weren't clicking for me. It is greasy, and the seasoning on it has an abundant mustard flavor. It became more and more overwhelming as I dove into it more, and by the end (which it was an effort to make it to that point, I'll admit) I was itching to pat the seasoning off of the calamari to make it somewhat more pleasant to eat. Would not order this again. Sushi: -Spicy Mango Shrimp Roll: solid sushi roll- rice is soft, the ratios were perfect, and the mango sauce it was topped with was also pleasant for me! -Dinosaur Roll: my friend ordered this and I had a bite of it, very good!! Loved the overall ratio from the shrimp tempura to the eel to the eel sauce. Overall a solid experience. Very fresh food and quick service- for those who work in the nearby business park.

The restaurant was very nice inside- I really wished the food lived up to the service and the ambience. The menu is extensive and will suit just about any eater but the lack of freshness was visible. Pad Thai was good but not great. I'm glad we liked our meal partners or it would have been even less stellar. With so many great restaurants in the Huntington area, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. If it weren't for the good service and comfortable seating, our meal would have suffered more.
