Since I don't frequently consume this type of cuisine I will end my review with this, they have a yogurt based drink what was surprisingly refreshing, so I recommend trying it if you happened to eat in this establishment. read more

This is the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The food is fresh, the kitchen is clean, and the staff is really nice. I heard the chef here is from India, but went to French culinary school. This is why you'll find items on this menu that you won't find at any other place. They have the traditional Indian fare, but things like the stuffed mushrooms are unique and very tasty. At other Indian places the desserts are scary, but I highly recommend them here. The Gulab Jamun and Kheer are amazing as well. read more

It's a little on the steeper end in my opinion for Indian food, but the food is worth the price. We always do take out so, never had a sit-down experience there. The portions were great. Food was great, the chicken tikka wasn't over done with cream so your not in a food coma after just one small serving like most lunch buffet establishments. The staff was friendly for the most part and on point, as son as your dish was empty they clear it so you can go for seconds, thirds or fourths. Price was very reasonable we had a party of 6 and everyone ordered a drink; bedsides water and we managed to walk-away with a bill under $100. I like this restaurant very much. I've been there many times. An Indian friend took me there when I asked her to take me to a good Indian restaurant in Morris County. This restaurant is frequented by Indians, as well as Americans, but the fact that Indians go there to eat means that the food is good and authentic. I especially like their lunch buffett, which will cost you about $12 per person, because you can try many different dishes. They're all very good. If don't like spicy food, some may be a bit spicy, so ask before you serve yourself. The staff is super friendly. The place is clean and has a nice decor. You should definitely try their masala tea. It is delicious. They will bring you a full pot and it's hard not to finish it because it's so good. Cinnamon is on Rt. 10W and can be a little hard to find. It's very close to the Pelican Pool and Sports supply store. read more

I love Indian food, and particularly a good buffet. I hadn't gone to Cinnamon till today, and was looking forward to a great lunch. Despite all the positive reviews here, it was the worst Indian buffet I ever had. While there was a great assortment of both veg and non-veg trays, the most of the food tasted cold, and old. For example, there were three rices - plain rice, and two biryani's. All three were cold, and dried out. Same with the chicken tandoori, and a number of other dishes. I didn't get there just as the buffet was closing, either. I got there at 1:30pm and it doesn't close till 2:30. I think the problem is that they apparently made all their food early, and then put it in the warming trays. It might have tasted a lot better if I got there when the buffet started. There are at least 2 other Indian restaurants in Parsippany I've had buffet at - both worth returning to...but not Cinnamon. read more

We love cinnamon! It is great for the kids as the staff is so accommodating. We always see the same faces and they are always so welcoming! The food is fresh and not oily and the spice is so so incredible. We love Indian but sometimes everuthing tastes the same. Not here. This is the real deal. We love the chicken masala the Dahl Makhani and of course the vegetable Samosas and pakoras. They have a chicken skewer appetizer which is perfect for the kids. They love it! Love this place. When I used to live in dreary mid Pennsylvania and had to drive to the Newark airport, this was a heaven of a stop for me. The food is consistently good and the service reasonably good. I found the stuff friendly. It is certainly the most tasty Indian food around. I enjoyed my dining experience at Cinnamon restaurant. The waiter was very patient and accommodating. Because I was not sure what to try; he explained a lot of the different items on the menu. He even brought out a sample of a sauce for me to taste. Once I did decide to order, I had the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan, and Indian tea; which was very delicious. I have been to the weekend lunch buffet here several times and their selection is quite large. The buffet starts with 2-3 types of appetizers and moves along to a wide variety of condiments and sides. There are about equal number of non-veg and veg dishes with 4 types of chicken dishes, a goat dish and 4 vege options. All dishes are well made and distinct in flavor. To finish, there are 4 types of deserts. A nice touch is that the bread (naan) is not stacked in the buffet but rather brought out in a small basket to your table. This are made to order and usually arrive within a minute. The naans are fluffy, chewy perfection. Service is very alert and you'll almost never have to ask for water or naans or wait to have your plate removed. The seating area is large and can accommodate big parties. The location has a very large parking lot right in front so parking is never a problem. Authentic dishes with wide selection at a very reasonable $10.95 makes this place definitely worthwhile. read more

Excellent Indian place, and being from India, I rarely give this rating to most Indian restaurants. The reason is, multitude of Indian Restaurants will be dark, gloomy, have red / orange colored ugly table cloths and overpriced curry. This place is different. Ambience is upbeat and cheerful, the waiters were friendly..being a desi I asked for sliced onions and green chillis and I got it right away with lemon on the side. The highlight of this place is the variety of the kababs. There is a decent selection and we ordered 4-5 different types. Din't go wrong with any of them. In the curries, the Jaipuri Chicken is excellent. It's not as spicy as they say it is but it is a well made dish. Overall a fine Indian place, but BYOB. Yeah, that was a bit disappointing because we didn't and then found out they did not serve beer. Oh well, next time. read more

Top notch. I've eaten at quite a few different Indian restaurants and this one is right up at the top. The menu has something for everyone, the prices are very reasonable, the portions are quite large, and the service has always been great. I've never been to the buffet so I can't comment on that but the dinner menu has never disappointed. The waiters always check with you on how spicy you'd like your food so don't be worried about receiving something that is too hot for your tastes. Some of my favorites include: Vindaloo, Hot Jaipuri Chicken, and the Chicken Kali Mirch. All of the breads I have tried here have also been a nice compliment to the meal. I am visiting my family in NJ from DC and remembered I always see this restaurant but never get a chance to go. I decided this time to bring my mom here because I was craving some samosas. Let's just say I was very happy with this place. The food was excellent. We had the tandoori chicken, lamb biriyani, and of course some samosas..My mother was very happy with the food which I was relieved about since this was her first time in an Indian restaurant. The tandoori was different than I have had at other Indian places,but it was still decent. Everything else was superb. The place is very well decorated and the staff is attentive and helpful. I have been to Cinnamon for the Sunday night buffet. The buffet was $15.95 + taxes which was bit pricey. But for the price the spread and the non-veg options are pretty good and service is good too. The appetizers, chats were the best amongst all Indian restaurants i had in New Jersey. The main course is pretty elaborate with 3-4 chicken options, one shrimp gravy, 2-3 Veg items and two rice dishes, and all seem to be good but not near to the best if you rate them individually. Dessert items were Rice pudding, Rasamalai, Gulab Jamun tasted average. In particular though the Jamun and Rasamalai tasted decent, they seem to be too spongy in texture which was a let down as they tasted better in other Indian restaurants (try Moghul, Chand Palace for desserts). Overall for price, the buffet spread is good. With decent and spacious interiors and good service Cinnamon is really worth trying. The next time i would try their lunch buffets which i heard are much cheaper. read more

I have been here several times and I enjoyed the chicken biryani, jaipuri chicken and Kheer the most. I absolutely love their biryani, but sometimes it a hit or a Miss as I noticed its less tasty when their restaurant is busy. I also love the raita that comes with the biryani, I have always ordered a take out and apparently you get decent quantity when you order a take out vs when you dine in. I have eaten the lunch buffet quite a few times at Cinnamon and the food is excellent. I was unsure if I would really like Indian food, and I don't eat red meat, so the choices of chicken are great. The price for the buffet is great too--around $10. I would highly recommend eating here especially for lunch as it is easy to get back to work on a busy schedule. read more

I've been here both for dinner and for lunch buffet. Both we're outstanding. The service and food are both great. With tons of indian food competition around in the area, this one is one of the best. The atmosphere is decent, very casual, and clean. my only complaint is the line for the buffet during lunch. It's always so long and in a very inconvenient spot. We were in the area for another restaurant which happened to be closed for the afternoon. Starving, my husband did quick search on Yelp and found this place. The place is quite large and very crowded ( we went on a Saturday). The buffet was available and with quite a large selection. The food was good. Like I mentioned I was very hungry and am pregnant so not sure if I am giving a bit bias review on the food. They had pakora with all different types of filling, chat masala, tandoori chicken, goat curry, tikka masala, chicken and vegetable biryani and many other options. They also had a really good gajar ka halwa and kala jam. Kheer and rash malai was also available but not my favorite. The ambiance is crowded and family friendly. Not a fancy setting but fairly clean. For the price ($15 for buffet per person) the choices are pretty good and food quality is descent. read more

My review pertains only to lunch, but it's certainly one of the better Indian restaurants that I've been to in awhile and the best Indian place I've been to in the Morris County area. I'm looking forward to trying their dinner menu. The NYT recently gave the restaurant glowing reviews, and I certainly would second that. FOOD: The restaurant offers one of the most extensive buffet selections I've ever seen at an Indian restaurant and is mostly northern Indian (but don't quote me on that). The dishes are not the usual heavy, greasy, oversalted sauces that are found in so many Indian restaurants. I think there's enough for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians to eat there as well. The salads are fresh; the fried foods are crisp and not too greasy. The meat dishes are well prepared as well. My favorite was the goat, which had great flavor and was very tender/moist. There were a few desserts to choose from, but I'm a sucker for kheer (rice pudding), and it's well made here. AMBIENCE/DECOR: Nothing to write home about, but who cares when the food is this good? SERVICE: Very friendly and surprisingly attentive. I had a few kids with me, and they were great with the kids as well. read more
