I visited this restaurant with my family on July 4,2026 for Dosas, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing due to lack of hygiene. I observed the same employee cleaning the floors and then serving and touching food without gloves, which raised serious sanitation concerns, in addition, the person preparing the dosas was not wearing gloves or chefs cap, a hairnet, or any other appropriate food safety attire. These practices did not appear to meet basic hygiene standards. I am surprised that the restaurant has received positive ratings given the cleanness issues I witnessed. I would not recommend dinning there. I encourage the management to improve their hygiene and food handling practices to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for customers. read more

This guy nails the Dosas each time, authentic South Indian food with one of the best coconut chutneys. A lot of restaurants don't get their chutney right which is a bummer, but Dosa house chutney tastes the closest to home made. We tried the Vada, Idly and Rava dosa, all of them were delicious. Every now and then, I have friends that wil pick my brain for great local spots to eat often with a certain food in mind. Recently, a coworker asked where to score a great dosa from. Parsippany is home to many great Indian restaurants, and surprisingly, while I love Indian food, have never ventured into the world of Dosas. What is a dosa is something many may ask? In the realm of Indian cooking, a dosa is very similar to what we all know as crepes, but stuffed with savory Indian food. No doubt, heard good things about them but just never took the step and order outside of my normal meals. With that, while I never ate at Sri Ganesh Dosa House-Parsippany, (Located at 209 Littleton Road - Littleton Plaza - Intersection of Littleton Road and Parsippany Blvd.)I have heard good things about this place and offered this location as one location. Granted there are many more places with the boundaries of Parsippany to order these, but this was one location that I've heard about and offered up. Recently we paid a visit for dosas and we both enjoyed out meals. Going in there, we did not really know what we were ordering, but the staff was helpful in choosing our meals even though we lacked experience and knowledge. With most Indian foods that are made fresh to order, they can be fine tuned to your spice level. I enjoy heat to my meal and ordered accordingly. The dosas are made to irder and came out piping hot and super fresh. My dosa was stuffed with potoes and onions along with other great additions that made for a tasty meal. My coworkers had potato, onions, chickpeas as well as other great additions that was dialed down on the heat scale and was also served fresh. Both meals were super tasty and unique. While this dosa house is vegetarian, don't be fooled that it won't make a good meal. Despite it being vegertain, I walked away very satisfied and full. Not pictured, but a lentil soup ( I beleive it may be called Sambar) often accompanies dosas and they had a pot in the restaurant that was also available and was super tasty as well. read more

Ran nearly closing time of 10pm but made it little ahead of 9:30 . Found they were wrapping up and closing when the staff informed that they are open for take outs for idli and dosas. Knowing how dosa can get soggy in a to go box, I was hesitant and placed an order for steam idli($6) when the manager was kind enough to accommodate and take the order for karampodi masala dosa(9.50$) and seated us at the table. Instantly we were served with steamed fresh idli that came with fab chutneys on the side - coconut and spicy red chutneys. Served with sambhar Ofcourse. The karampodi was great might get spicier to some like me at the center. That was a lot of podi with heat! We were out in 15-20mins. Quickest dinner ever grabbed and finished! P.S. Fresh food, made to order. All vegetarian. Staff was helpful in navigating menu as it was my first time there and I was in a hurry. I tried a dosa and poori with bhaji and some kind of pickle. I was stuffed with leftovers. The food was very good. Textures were just right, spicy as ordered but not punishing. Key point: zero ambiance. It's a very utilitarian place. Clean but somewhat spartan. The crowd is entirely South Asian and they seem to be setup for a lot of takeout and catered delivery. Quite good. They have a mind-boggling selection of dosas, including newfangled ones like quinoa and all the classics. I got Pesarattu with upma, and my family got masala dosas. The sambar was excellent. I loved my pesarattu. Spice levels were pretty high for everything, a little much for my fam. I also got the South Indian veg thali; it was not as good as the dosas. Some good spinach fritters ( bhaji?) but I was not a huge fan of the curries/ dal. I am not Indian but get thalis a lot. This might be something regional I don't appreciate, but there was a green bean dish that seemed vinaigry. a sour dal, and something that was either a huge serving of very spicy pickle or a green pepper curry that didn't look appetizing to me. Again, these particular dishes might be someone's long lost comfort food but they were not for me. The vegetable curries we've had so far: Okra Cabbage Cauliflower Chile (chickpea) All of them taste homemade (unlike majority of the restaurants who bulk cook the sauce base for all curries then add in the main ingredient) Recommend items: - All dosa items are great. Maybe the explains the relatively low rating, perhaps this doesn't match what comes to mind for people seeking the general category. But for an EXTREMELY gently priced meal that's quite tasty, this is a great option! Late review! This place is conveniently located in shopping complex. I recommend you can place order here atleast 30 mins ahead of time and then shop for groceries. Usually dosa houses don't take more than 10 mins to get orders ready .. but this one was slow atleast for that day. And, boy they made me wait for ~50 mins. It was my first time trying this restaurant and those 50 mins I regretted standing in the corner of the restaurant. The guy ordering food could use some improvement in greeting and attending customers. There were 3-4 customers already eating. Atleast one person on every table was drinking down 2+ bowls of sambhar! The big Ganesh murti instantly draws your attention when you go in and helps calm you down when you are anxiously waiting for food! The lady making food was utterly tired yet finishing up orders. I felt pity for her. Finally my order was ready after 55 mins. Once I reached home after an hour, I tried the food and absolutely loved chutneys and especially sambhar. Rava Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa and idli were okay but sambhar was amazing! Oh btw, there's a black pot in the corner where you get refill unlimited sambhar. I visited Sri Ganesh with my folks, who had never tried dosas before. Dosas are really long, thin, savory, lentil-based crepes with different fillings. I'm a big dosa fan, and the dosas at Sri Ganesh are enormous, affordable, and delicious. I got the masala dosa - a classic, filled with spiced potatoes - which was really great. My guy got the thali, or sampler platter, which was a ton of food for under $10. Much of it was spicy, so be warned if you're spice sensitive; it all tasted delicious. You order at the counter, and pick up there as well. They give you dipping sauces (I'm not sure what to call them!) that go with the dosas. I recommend asking questions if you're not sure what to order. For example, my dad got an onion dosa, and didn't realize it would be filled with raw chopped onions, which tasted harsh and he didn't enjoy. My mom got a cheese dosa, and didn't realize it would be American style cheese (though she loved it!) There's self-serve sambar (very spicy soup) in the back that you can take, as well as self-serve hot and cold water from the water machine. They use styrofoam and don't appear to recycle, which is a bummer. But I love that it's a fully vegetarian restaurant, and it's also gluten-free friendly: my dad has celiac and was able to eat there, and they were knowledgeable about what he could and could not eat. Some of the dosas have cheese or are cooked in butter, and some dishes include yogurt, but you can easily find vegan food, as well. It's worth checking out! read more

I'm SO FORTUNATE that my mom makes DELICIOUS and fresh Indian breakfast on weekends. Indian breakfast beats ANY breakfast. YUUUGE PORTION - Whatever type of dosa you get will be ginormous! I love paper-thin dosa because it's all about that crisp, and they do it perfectly here. (Note: Mysore dosas won't be paper-thin but rather doughy in the center) VARIETY - You can get a regular dosa, masala dosa (stuffed with spiced potato), or special dosas like Mysore, Bangalore, Pondicherry (named after Indian cities) each with its own variant of cooking technique and a unique sidekick of accompanying sauces (sambar, mint chutney, garlic red chili chutney and so forth). They also have other breads besides dosas; idlis, for example, which are savory flying saucer-looking cakes that are delicious with sambar or chutney but very dense and filling. SAMBAR - One of the main sauces for a dosa; little sour but robust with vegetal notes (made with okra, tamarind, onions, chilis, lentils and sometimes, 'Drumstick' - a native Indian vegetable). They have a big self-serve pot, sign says "Don't waste it"; take as you need it because making this is a painstaking process that takes love and patience. SAhm-baar (stress the -sa, roll the r). I enjoyed the sambar here, but my mom makes it 1000X better :) PONDICHERRY Masala Dosa - Never had a dosa that had spices embedded in the dosa itself. This little restaurant is found right off of Hwy 80 & 287, nestled in a tiny strip mall. Entering this hole in the wall, you can smell a mixture of Indian spices, the smell of fried dough, and incense (there's a little shrine set up off to one side of the entrance). You can walk right up to the window and an old man will take your order. Their menu is strictly vegetarian. Although it may be a one-pager, it is covered with many different kinds of dosas and iglis, front and back, from different regions. All for less than $10!! They also have some imported sodas, like Thums Up (local cola). Today, I ordered Bangalore Onion Chili Masala Dosa and a Vada. Meals come with a bowl of Sambar. The dosa is big, maybe 16 inches in length, and is filled with a potato and onion mixture, sprinkled with freshly chopped green chilis. It is served with 2 dipping sauces, a ground coconut sauce and a red chili-mango sauce (so I was told). This dish in itself was quite filling and delicious. The Vada is shaped like a donut and deep-fried, and is flavored with curry leaves. My friend told me that it is a dough made of rice and lentil flour. It is dense. Also served with the coconut and chili sauces. The Sambar is a lentil-based soup with many aromatics, tomato, and potato; a good start to the meal. Definitely a repeat!! Don't be intimidated by the unassuming look. Just stay in the dining room area and avoid going to the back. Dosa is the big roll looking thing and has potato filling. Rava Dosa looks like the picture I posted, more like crepes but savory. It's my favorite. Don't forget to help yourself for some lentil soup (caution spicy!!) which goes really well with your Dosa.
