Went to try this place for lunch. Not busy on a weekday. There are several food counters with different yummy food, ready to choose what you want. Hoping they make their calamari softer, it's hard to chew it. Serving Staff are friendly and nice to customers. Well lighted and decorated clean buffet restaurant in the area. Lots of parking.

Decent buffet for the price, but like all buffets everything was salty making me very thirsty. Went for lunch on a Saturday. They had several types of ice cream and a selection of cakes for dessert. Bbq meat was soft and tasty. For lunch had salt and pepper crab legs (without the leg part and only top of the leg). Had a hibachi station and 4 types of soup. Sushi was a disappointment for me. They didn't have eel sushi and mostly all sushi was fake crab meat. They included cream cheese in the salmon sushi so I couldn't eat any.

We went around 6 PM on a Tuesday night. Modern Buffet is very big and spacious and upon our arrival, we were quite excited. It is $20 for an adult for dinner. Sushi - typical buffet style rolls and a few sashimi. The freshness was just okay here KBBQ station - consists of shrimp skewers which has the shrimp shell and head on. They also had BBQ beef and what seemed to be perhaps galbi? Hibachi station - you pick out what you want in your hibachi plate and they make it for you. I was a bit irritated because my guy started before the person behind me and the person behind me got their plate way before me. I swear it felt like I waited for 15 mins just standing around They had other foods like Chilean seabass which was okay it was just getting cold. Seafood boil which was a bit dry and way too much potatoes. Their crawfish was good, typical. They had oysters and shrimp cocktails which were okay, not bad but not good either. Everything else was just mediocre like every other Chinese buffet. Nothing really stands out. AYCE buffets are usually a hit or a miss and I guess it was kind of a miss for us that night. It was a bit empty when we had arrived so the food wasn't as fresh as we would like it to be. I would say the restaurant is very clean soon as we stepped in, was seated and also the bathroom as well.

What an addition to the area. This buffet is located right off 22 in North plainfield right next to the IHOP. They are a pretty big location with lots of seating for almost any size party . The service is good they are pretty attentive with getting plates cleared away as you move onto the next dish . They have several hot bars, plenty of options for everyone from sushi , typical Chinese dishes , some American, Korean BBQ, and seafood and hibachi. So many things to choose from so you better come hungry . Prices may seem a bit high but with all the selections you have it's definitely worth it .

The place is definitely nicely decorated and set up. Plenty of seating and the place is surprisingly not so noisy. It's probably because people are too busy enjoying the food. Now I'm not going to say that this place blows every other buffet out of the water, but they are good. The fried shrimp is delicious and melts in your mouth. Crab legs are not too salty like some places. The servers are very attentive but not intrusive. I should have gotten pics of the hibachi station, which is different as they do cook for you Hibachi style with a great options.. you can't go wrong for 25 bucks pp on a weekend. I'll be back!!!

M-Th lunch for an adult is $13.99! (02/24) Good food, polite service, varied selection, excellent lunch price, clean. Solid 4! Went for lunch on a weds and for the price, really great value. The selection of food at lunch time was good, including oysters and varied sushi lineup. Food was also very good for the price, I didn't feel anything was terribly overcooked and taste was good by Chinese buffet standards. Frozen desserts were individually packaged ice cream and ice cream bars. KBBQ isn't the kind you grill at the table, they had some marinaded meat at the hibachi station that they would cook for you. If you came for a kbbq experience, it isn't that kind of place.

The seafood is extremely fresh, the broths are rich and flavorful, and the selection of small dishes is huge. There are tons of options for sides, appetizers, and even BBQ items before the meal. The dessert selection is also impressive. One thing I hope they can improve is the ice jelly (冰粉). The current red version tastes a bit like Jell-O, which feels a little off compared to authentic Chongqing ice jelly -- would love to see a more traditional texture and flavor in the future. My personal must-haves here are the lobster, crayfish, beef tripe, and pork aorta (黄喉) -- always fresh, always delicious. Overall, amazing quality, super fresh seafood, and great variety. No wonder we keep coming back.

There is such a large selection of seafood to choose from, for the price of $63.99 per person, it is not bad especially considering how much seafood and meat costs. Ordering is easy as each table has their own tablet to place orders but my only gripe was that staff need to enter a code before you can submit to the kitchen. Drinks are self service and you can get as many as you like, from sodas, water, soy milk, green tea. There is also a sauce bar that is kept very clean. Decor is amazing as staff informed me that the paintings on the walls were hand painted by an artist from China. For every 2 people, you get an option of a lobster or another type of seafood. Seafood options range from mussels to class and even razor clams. Plenty of meat and veggie options as well. Although this is supposed to be a hotpot and bbq restaurant, hotpot is the only thing available as the restaurant does not have the proper ventilation installed for the bbq grills, although the grills are right next to the hotpot. That's unfortunate as I was looking forward to grilling some of the seafood. For dessert, they had durian which I tried for the first time. It was super creamy and sweet! I've been missing out this whole time! Overall, our entire experience was great and I would definitely return.

We did the combo, and the portions were very generous--especially the garlic rice, which was fluffy, aromatic, and perfectly garlicky. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. The combo is the way to go because you get a great mix of flavors: * BBQ pork skewer: tender, smoky, and glazed with that classic sweet-savory Filipino BBQ sauce * Longganisa: rich, slightly sweet, and nicely charred * Dinuguan: deep, savory, and comforting--well balanced and great over rice * Pinakbet: hearty and home-style, with vegetables cooked just right and full of flavor Everything paired incredibly well with the garlic rice, which honestly could stand on its own. Big portions, bold Filipino flavors, and a bustling, no-frills vibe--this spot clearly knows what it's doing.
