I choose them because a family member had a positive experience with them and gave them a great word of mouth review! Boy, I was I happy I did. I had a complication that I knew about ahead of time and needed a planned c-section and I HATE hospitals. These two gave me all the support I needed as a young new mom on her own. The entire team made me and my family feel connected during the whole process. Dr. V even allowed me to Skype with my husband during the surgery so he could witness the birth of his little girl. I would not only use their services again, I also recommend them to anyone back home who needs a good team.

She was wonderful and, because I had opted for a very early release (within 6 hours of my son's birth) she did a few home visits to be sure all was going well. She later became certified as a Nurse Midwife and was my midwife for my daughter's birth in 1988 at the birthing center of Griffin Hospital. She was then affiliated with Dr. Brian Karsif. She is a wonderful, caring person who takes the time to be sure all are comfortable. She explained things to me so that I was well informed and always at ease. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an alternative to the typical ob-gyn. My children are both grown, son is now 32 and my daughter is 29 and expecting her second child around Christmas. I write this after such a long stretch because I am reminded of her every day when I go to work. I get off Rte 8 onto Division Street. Right across from the exit is the building which had been where she practiced with Dr. Karsif. It is now a day care facility. Maria R.

When we learned we were pregnant... we knew what we wanted our birth to be like…read more I was very clear from the beginning that our vision was to have a natural home birth. My partner was 100% on board and we spoke to a family midwife friend for advice. She recommended Birth and Beyond. I looked at their website and made an appointment. From my first meeting with Vicki I felt like I found what I was looking for. We communicated well, we understood each other and spoke the same language. Whenever I left my wellness visits I felt positive and cared for. I had confidence every step of the way that I was in good hands. Yes birthing is unpredictable so a few of my appointments had to be rescheduled because of births but it was no big deal. The back office personal was helpful and caring. They answered whatever billing questions or scheduling concerns I had. I found the group thorough and operated like a well-oiled machine. I liked the down to earth touch and the authentic styles of both Vicki and Cheri. They offer 3 mandatory meetings that both parents attend. These meetings are held with 5 or 6 other couples expecting babies and the meeting is chock full of Information about the process. It's a great forum to ask and receive answers to questions. Having a home birth requires quite a bit of prep. There are many things to prepare for. Although they give you a list and walk you through everything, it's your responsibility to prepare your home with the supplies for the birth. We highly recommend renting a birth tub it was wonderful and so helpful with pain management. We also benefited greatly from the placenta encapsulation service. The post birth pediatric care is excellent and the best part of having a home birth is you don't have to leave your house until you've rested at least 2 weeks! Birth and Beyond offers a wonderful service with caring, devoted midwives who have 20+ years of expertise to support whatever your home birth vision is.

I just saw Nurse Nicole Waller today (2pm, 03 Oct) - this, after making an appointment long ago…read morewith Dr. Abigail Bootes, who I see as my Ob-Gyn. No courtesy to let me know that they switched the practitioner on me. Two days before my visit, an email said: you'll be seeing Nicole - no courtesy call, no checking with me if it was okay to do so. Nothing. I called and let them know that I was not happy about this. How is this different from the Marketplace plans where you don't get to choose your doc? Today at the visit, I got told that a student was shadowing Nicole. I agreed because they need to learn too! The student asked me the routine questions, went and reported back to Nicole. Then came Nurse Nicole who came in a great hurry, was very very rushed, did her exam in 5 minutes and was gone. She came in at 2.14 and was gone by 2.19 pm.I was disappointed that in an annual visit that could last up to an hour, I got to see a nurse practitioner for merely 5 minutes!! Certainly not going back to this practice.....very very unhappy with their rushed, brusque treatment today. Last year I had a good experience with Dr. Bootes, but this year it isn't worth even awarding the 1 star I gave!! Why do they give a well woman's annual appointment, only to do a rush exam/review? And the little Nurse Nicole did, was to merely show the student the minimal she needed to show..... If not for the shadowing student, not sure if she'd have spent even the 5 minutes she did. I'd give 0 stars, if I could.

My doctor is very kind and takes the time to explain things to me. She's one of the midwives here, but there are doctors as well if that's your preference. I've had appointments where i waited for two minutes and ones where I've waited for twenty-two minutes, so that's a mixed bag. When i'm able, I make early morning appointments and that seems to help reduce the waiting time.

I recently started seeing Dr. Speranza and I couldn't be happier with her and her office staff. I dealt with a few different office staff from check in to check out and every person was kind and seemed happy to work there. Dr. Speranza spent time with me and I felt she was easy to talk to, like I had known her for years. She's honest, compassionate, understanding and thorough. If you have "my chart" access her response time is lightening fast!! My personal expectation is to get a response via my chart within 24-48 hours, and she has exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds on more than one occasion! For example, I sent her a message at 4pm and she responded at 9:30pm. I knew right then I had to write this review! I felt so bad that here she was responding to patient emails at this time of night but I'm also very grateful. My question was not anything that needed an urgent response at all but she still responded quickly. If you are considering choosing this group I say do it!! I am so glad I did. I should also mention I've worked in a hospital for 25 years so when I am a patient I have extremely high expectations and this group as a whole has exceeded them.
