Definitely worth the hype and the trek!…read more I've been seeing this spot all over TikTok and finally made the drive out on a Tuesday afternoon. It's such a cool location right on the water by the ferry, & the vibe is super relaxed with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and lawn games like cornhole. The staff were incredibly friendly & walked us through their order at the counter setup as soon as we walked in. The food was a 10/10. The turkey was so juicy, literally tasted like Thanksgiving, & the ribs were seasoned perfectly with a generous portion size. I also have to mention the sides: the okra & collard greens were my personal favorites! We tried all their sauces, but the datil pepper one is a must-try if you like a little local flavor. They also have a full bar and some fun spiked slushies. Even though I didn't try the brisket sandwich myself, my dad loved it & said they'd come back just for that. I'm already planning my next trip to try the smoked wings and the brisket. If you're looking for great BBQ with a view, Billy Jack's is it. I'll definitely be back!

This is a restaurant where you order when you come in. The line moved very quickly. I think I…read moreordered the wrong food for today, but I was convinced when I heard the order taker that the Sunday fried chicken special was excellent, so I went with that. We also ordered fish dip. Carl got fried fish basket. He said the standouts were coleslaw and hush puppies. Fish was good too. He was very disappointed in the tartar sauce and said the fries tasted as if they had been cooked in old oil. I tasted them and they, at a minimum needed seasoning, but there was none on the table. I did not like the fish dip. It may be good, but it was everything I dislike, fishy and overly smoky. I had to spit it out. I've had fish dip elsewhere that was more mild and loved it. Again, that's on me. The fried chicken plate was also not for me. I struggled with either that or Azar's sausage with okra & tomatoes and butter beans as the side. I'll take the sausage next time. The corn muffin, mashed potatoes and creamed peas were good. Wish I too had some salt though. The chicken disappointed. My favorite part is the crispy breaded skin. Three of the pieces of the half a chicken were cooked so there was no breading on the skin side. The skin for leg and thigh was torn away from the meat and hung by the side. I still had crispy half breaded skin, but the meat was hard and dry without the protection of the skin. Service was spot on, fast and friendly. It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio and watch the ferry come and go. The drinks were very well poured --an old fashioned and a John Daly. The drive home was lovely with the blue sky and sparkling water. Definitely a mostly win. Definitely can recommend. I'm sure it's a 4 or 5 with a different entree.

But, beyond the expected hamburgers and a great selection of shakes, they have chicken 'n' waffles, fried shrimp, and other dishes. Everything is indeed fast food yet at the same time tastes homemade. My shrimp were good though a bit too salty for my liking, the waffle fries fine, the bread roll (really? not hushpuppies?) ok if weird to me to include in a seafood basket. Their house MotLee's Sauce is certainly the sauce to ask for, by the way. All in all, a good, economical choice for fast food plus to support something local and unique.

Husband got a smash burger with sweet potato fries and a Heath bar shake. Everything was served quickly by the nice young man behind the counter, all was hot and looked great. Everything was delicious, with the highpoints being the sweet potato waffle fries, the biscuit, and the milkshakes. I got ranch and the Motlee sauce for my chicken and both were excellent, the ranch is def homemade. We'll be back around the next time we head in or out on I-10, although it's only 30 minutes from where I live in Jax, so we might make the drive just for dinner one night.

We had a group of about 15 people, and they handled us surprisingly well. They got us seated quickly on the shaded patio, which made a big difference on a beautiful Florida day. The views alone are worth the visit--watching the ferry go back and forth and seeing fishermen out on the water added to the whole experience. Food-wise, the blackened flounder sandwich was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. Service was solid across the board, especially considering the size of our group. Between the ride, the atmosphere, and the food, this turned into one of those outings that just hits right. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Outdoor patio for food on the water. Coffee wasn't great. First cup came out with a bit of old lipstick remnants on the inside of the cup. Returned for a new one. Staff were friendly but they were at one time doing clean up/ sweeping along side our table while we dinned which I don't care for. Could stir up dust and get it into the food. Needs some attention to detail on the service side in these regards but overall a good experience.

Amazingly, we did manage to find a table for our group however. The food wasn't quite as good as I remembered this time. In particular, the spaghetti was weak: maybe not enough sauce and hot dogs in it. Perhaps I didn't like the chicken as much either: the crust is really good, but my wife's gravy the other day was a lot better. I did love the biscuit with honey, though we had to request the honey, and they no longer have butter for the biscuits. The peach mango pie was good as usual this time, though it's possible I liked the biscuits and honey even more (though my wife didn't like them like I do). My wife told me to ask for a plate, and I got one, so we learned something useful for the future. They did forget the pie for our order, but gave us one no problem when I went up and asked for it. My wife reports that the ladies' room faucet no longer slashes all over the place. However both bathrooms still serve only one person at a time. Install some stalls! There was a wait for the men's bathroom. I didn't manage to get any loyalty points for this visit: I couldn't find a 23-digit code to enter on the web site. It wasn't on the receipt; I read that it's on a small slip of paper printed after your receipt, but I don't believe we got one. Next time I'll have to order from the web or app, provide my phone number when I order, or scan the QR code in the app at the register to make sure I get points.
