Ok I have one review already of this place, devs didn't write this application to edit/upvote/downvote prior reviews...addition to suggestion box? So, gave it another shot yesterday (2/26/23) and no better. Food is pretty good, but customer service is horrible. First off, to-go menu, which is not on their website, is apparently the only menu that you can order on for to-go orders. I tried to order 2 items on the listed menu, but they said that I couldn't do that, those item were unavailable for to-go orders...including iced tea, which I did order last time. (Apparently, who you get on the phone matters). I first thought they were 'out' of some items, such as cole slaw. (catfish filets and shrimp lists that it comes with slaw. fries, and hush puppies, but cole slaw has been physically scratched out. The price, unfortunately, was not updated to reflect this change). Which brings yet another issue - the place is too high, way to da** expensive....horrible value. Fried green beans were $10 bucks? Should have been $2.99. I won't go back. It won't matter anyway, as I predict this place is going to go out of business soon. They could care less about their customers. read more

What is all the fuss? This place is ridiculous. Don't make me post a photo of the cooking area. The crawfish are too small and salty to eat. I can't believe they were charging $7 a pound for something you couldn't eat. The catfish was seasoned perfect though and is priced reasonable thus the 2 stars. I get why people come here. It's just an outside gathering spot for east Texans who are too proud to drive the eat real Cajun food in Louisiana and I'm a Texan. Nothing special but when you live out here just anything will do. read more

Update: I've gone back twice since the original review and the crawfish has gotten progressively saltier every time. Last time it was nearly inedible. I keep giving chances, but I'm done now. I'm sad because it used to be SO GOOD! The service was mediocre at best and the apps were okay. Two stars, and unless I hear they've overhauled their boiling process, I won't go again. read more

This is an awesome honky-tonk! It feels like home when I visit. Absolutely try the alligator appetizer! So yum! I always order the crab legs, tasty! But people come here, driving 45 minutes just to eat their amazing crawfish. This place gets BUSY on fridays & Saturday's by 6pm and parking is a huge problem, it's so packed! Big venue, there was a band when we were there. This place has been expanding over the years. This visit, they finally had indoor bathrooms, where last year you had to walk outside to a separate bathroom building. Love this place, if u want a real taste of rural Texas bar & eats. No dress-up here, but boots are always welcome! read more

6 to 7 years ago my Dad and I stopped by the newly opened Circle M in Big Sandy. We were so excited to welcome a new restaurant in the area as there were very limited options. We stopped in and they served us free beer! We immediately fell in love. Free beer?? How? Well, I guess, due to liquor license restrictions, they couldn't sell beer but they could give it away. Sure, twist our arms, we'll take a free beer. We were so enthralled that we decided to come back later that night and try the food. We were once again overwhelmingly pleased. Fresh, fried seafood served in a fun, casual, understated setting. This was East Texas dining at it's best. Saw dust on the floor, country music in the air. Fast forward to 2019, I couldn't believe my eyes when noticing the expansion that had occurred over the short period of time. The place literally tripled in size! Instead of one room dining, they have grown to include a bar, outdoor seating double the size of the indoor, original space, a children play area to keep the kiddos busy, a pool hall, and more outdoor seating. The seating capacity must be in the hundreds. The service was fast, friendly, and fun. Sassy was our server and she made us laugh while making sure all of our needs were met. Thank you Sassy!! Buckets of beers brought ice cold (thanks bar staff!), food served hot and fresh with full, clean condiments all ready for your enjoyment. It was a particularly busy night as they were hosting a karaoke contest as entertainment for the evening. So much fun! Going back to the food, I ordered the catfish and shrimp combo. Crispy, hot, perfectly fried and priced so reasonably. I think my platter was 12 bucks and I couldn't even finish all the fries that came with my plate. Doesn't look like much from the outside but is a large restaurant with indoor-outdoor seating. The atmosphere is unique and quite East Texas. Everyone was having fun and enjoying lunch when visited. The shrimp appetizer was hot as advertised and the catfish was above average. The Cajun plate I had was huge and good. Many people were observed having the crawfish. Understand they also have good live music on weekends. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Here's your hole in the wall, diver bar find of East Texas. This is the HOT SPOT on Friday and Saturday nights in the east Texas area. I grew up have Circle M crawfish. This place has gone from a simple stand to a full restaurant and bar. It's wide open and has a very social atmosphere. Food: Crawfish. Come early so they don't run out! Also order the boiled shrimp and snow crab legs if you're in the moods. Parking: It's pretty spread out, but you'll definitely find a place. Fun fact: They have karaoke on Friday nights and most saturdays there's a live band. read more

Get here, relax and enjoy yourself! Super impressed with this establishment! I had mediocre expectations (I'm sorry!) and they superceded my expectations. If I lived in Big Sandy this would be my spot several times a week. This is a laid back environment with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a covered outdoor area with plenty of fans. Girl, don't spend too much time on that hair! There's an abundance of seating and I can imagine it probably gets full for dinner service and weekend days. I arrived past 12 on Tuesday, it was busy but not nearly close to reaching max capacity. We had good service, the food came out within a reasonable time, all of our food was really good and what's better they had really good prices for their menu selection which is refreshing to see. I'd expect these prices for so so food and their price points just can't be beat for the quality! I had the fried shrimp with hush puppies and fries - WOW! The shrimp was super fresh, soft and a nice little snap with every bite. The batter was nicely seasoned, perfectly fried, but it doesn't stick if you bite through half the shrimp. The fries were perfect! Crispy on the outside and a perfect amount of seasoning - YUM! Hush puppies have diced jalapeno in it which was also tasty. Their boiled mushrooms were FIRE which I ordered for the table. Nicely cooked, served piping hot in a plastic bag, but very very spicey. Did I say spicey? A little, or let's be honest, too spicey and I like my spice. But don't you worry cause there's something about torturing myself that I'll order them again! Peach cobbler was warm, very nice, perfectly sweet accompanied with a good crust. I wish there were more peaches in my serving cause that's the winner of this yummy treat and I just didn't have enough for the nice scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. My friends choices: Chicken fried steak - this was a hearty portion that was served with mashed potatoes that looked extremely legit! I think they use red potatoes, smash them with the skin on and add for what it looked like to me a good amount of cream and butter cause they glistened in the light and I'm not complaining about it one but! I was offered a bite but I couldn't. I thought the serving size should have been a little larger so every bite of that steak could be joined with a bite of potatoes. Next time I'm getting me a side of that though! Spicey chicken sandwich. The chicken wasn't breaded, just grilled and tossed in hot sauce. Funny story... it arrived and my friend said he wasn't expecting it with bread... It's a sandwich bro! Lol! Y'all get the bread though, it was ciabatta and it looked soft and sturdy for the challenge it served. Soft drinks... they arrive in a large styrofoam cup and refills are free. The iced teas are great. Beer... they have plenty of choices. Wine... they have good choices on that too. Don't wine about what they don't have though. Dessert... please order something from their selection! Start with dessert first for goodness sake. Kids... there's an area for them that comes with rules. Warning, if your child can't comply, they can't play there. Per the rules. Parking...a good amount available and separate parking areas for motorcycles. read more

Well we've been to Circle M Crawfish twice and one time it was good and the other time it was HORRIBLE. We really want to like this place, it's close and has times on the menu that we liked when done right. We can recommend this place until they improve consistency. This place is a great Cajun Seafood restaurant. We met one of the owners and told him this was our first visit. He immediately offers a free beer and asked us what we were eating which I ordered bull shrimp potatoes corn it was delicious we also had boudin balls with four very good and my wife had a chef salad extremely good he brought us some free firecracker shrimp to try then came around offering the whole bar pieces of filet mignon which were very very good and tender seasoned well. We will definitely go back to this place it is a five-star place the only drawback to it was it was all open-air huge amount of seating band floor and dancing stage read more

Just got back to the hotel after a long day and a good meal. Circle M Crawfish hit the spot. When you first pull up and park you already feel like it's going to be a good bite. The building itself represents that hometown kinda backwoods away from the city feel. I very much enjoyed the seating. It is almost like you're outside but you have the roof to stop the major sunburn you'd receive from sitting directly in the sun. The waitress I had was good checked on me at all the right times and made sure the food was good. The food in my opinion was pretty good. I ordered the cajun combo which I would recommend for someone who has never had cajun or just can't make up their mind. I enjoyed the étouffée the most. The jambalaya was good with just the right amount of spice. I am a lover for red beans and rice and it wasn't bad but just seemed like there was something missing. I added Louisiana hot sauce to them and that's what it needed. Over all I would say a very good place to go get some Cajun and a very fun environment. 4.2 / 5.0 Keep it up Circle M! read more

Took my son who's visiting from California to get his crawfish fix. It was delicious! The crawfish boil has mushrooms in it and we couldn't get enough. Also got a dozen oysters on the half shell. They were pretty big but not the best I've had. The boudin alone is worth a trip back. Definitely give it a try. read more

Best crawfish in a 50 mile radius. The atmosphere is great! We travel an hour to go here at least once a month!

Once is enough for me. We ordered fried shrimp which arrived literally 2 minutes after we ordered. We also ordered blackened shrimp, which arrived over ten minutes later. The lady said it takes longer to cook on the grill, but everything on the plate was cold upon arrival. I sent it back, paid for the fried shrimp and my kinda cold beer, called it a night. A little indecisive on stars here. Our boudin balls were decent, my gumbo was very bland, and my crawfish etoufee was the worse I've ever eaten. But my wife's catfish was good, according to her. Thecdetails... It was very hot inside the "quonset hut", the excuse being "our system is frozen up." Uh, no, it's just friggin' inadequate." Any way, we started to order. Waitstaff was very poorly trained.. I asked our waitress if their gumbo had okra or file in it. "Uh, no okra, I don't what file is, but it does have pork in it." Pork??!!?? No, that "pork" was chicken, but in any case, this was the blandest gumbo I have ever had. However, as stated earlier, the boudin balls were ok. But the crawfish etoufee I had was absolutely the worst I have ever had. And I have eaten this dish in a lot of places. This was the first place I have ever had where it covered with grease! ! I'm not sure how it was made or where it came from but it was inedible. Now, my wife said her catfish was good, but the environment within was too hot for her to enjoy it. So she asked for a box and we left. In total, I might go back to try the fried shrimp and catfish, but otherwise I don't understand this place ' s popularity. But then, this is East Texas. read more
