I could go to the Apple Store but it's too far and I don't feel like going to the mall. UBreakiFix is less than 5 miles away from home that's why I took my phone here despite them charging $20 more. I booked an appointment on their website. The earliest appointment they have available is at 11am even though they open at 10am. They have like 3-4 locations in Vegas/ Henderson and their business hours are different so, be sure to check their hours. I got to the shop 30 minutes early. They get quite busy on Friday. I got a discount code on their website but they don't honor it. You pay upfront. It was $100 to replace my battery plus 3% charge for using a credit card. The gentleman that helped me was pleasant. There's a guy in the back that answers phone calls and does the repairs. I was told my phone would be ready by 1:30pm. I was at the shop exactly at 1:30pm and I had to wait another 30 minutes because my phone wasn't ready. However, they replaced by screen protector for free which was nice. I got my phone back so, I went home. I charged the new battery the whole afternoon. When I tried to use my phone, my FaceID wasn't working and it was already too late to take my phone back to the shop. I had to make another trip here a different day. I dropped it off at 10:30am, and it was ready by 2:30pm. So far, so good.

I didn't think it was a legitimate business at first. Trash, piles of scrap, dirt, and dust everywhere. Is this normal for North Las Vegas? The area alone wasn't too appealing. Kirk seemed nice at first but made me cringe after some random and uninvited racial and homophobic things he said, which he totally assumed I'd be okay hearing. Kirk had me there for about an hour, watching him trying to put on a simple belt for 20 minutes and mutilating the VCR bottom plastic frame to accomplish this. His work table was messy and got my VCR more dirty than how I brought it in (which was clean); dragging and scratching the top inside parts while having the unit cover off and upside down. I was feeling sick and couldn't breathe well in his shop. Kirk blamed it on cats but it was certainly the dust in this filthy place. After an hour of sneezing and blowing my nose on his dirty paper towels, he stated that the unit couldn't be fixed without a service manual or parts, which he didn't have nor could get. As he was removing the belt and assembling the cover back on, he still charged me $30 to look at it, which he called a discount. I asked him if he wanted the VCR for parts, but he said no and mentioned I could throw it in the dumpster out back. $30 for confirming trash. Unbelievable. I paid the $30 so I could leave without incident or argument. I found Kirk and his shop to be the most unprofessional experience I've ever had. What a dump. I just can't believe he's got a 4.5 star rating on here, unless most of his clientele have such low standards. It's a mystery. I won't be back. Ever.
