Chicken Parmesan sandwich with tots. Damb delicious
    Garrett R.

A great find. Extensive food and drink menu for anything you crave. The establishment is vast and has indoor and outdoor seating. I was blown away by thdir Chicken Parmesan. Fresh, full-bodied marinara over the top of a well breaded chicken breast, and a whole-lotta mozzarella. It cane with a choice of sides....tots for me. There are tvs for sports and a great soundtrack from the speakers. Nothing more to say but, you should put this on your places I need to eat list.

Wish I could give it a good review but I can't. The Ambiance inside is nice and would be a great place to just have a beer and hang out with friends, but the food is horrible. Kids menu mac and cheese was disgusting, the French fries has a unique spice they add to it that doesn't work, and their chicken parm was very very basic with generic tomato sauce and pre-frozen chicken parm patties. Could be great but totally missed the mark

The place looks great and on a Wednesday evening - plenty space to find. That's the good news. Maybe explains the bad news. Prices are from out of town. Wow! Street tacos: $22 There's not a single burger under $20. And - to top things of: the server has a snappy attitude. First bragging about more than 50 beer selections - first pick "There does not exist" ... well, should have taken it more literally - out of it. Next - Liquid Gravity IPA - out if it. At which point I can't help and start laughting and ask the server: Why don't you start instead of more than 50 beers with what you actually do have. Ridiculous expensive, customer unfriendly place. AVOID!

New Years Day we were looking for a place showing the Rose Bowl today and Milestone was open so there we go. Unfortunately our timing was a bit off and we arrived in time to see the end of the fourth quarter. The Sugar Bowl had been postponed so... We ordered an Aloha Pizza and an Asian chopped salad, add a couple of beverages. The salad and the pizza arrived and we were off, we split the salad and shared the pizza. Very good on the salad nice flavor of the dressing, I enjoyed the crunchy won ton strips. I know... I know...yes a bit more on the raw Ahi would have made this a four stars. The pizza, good a nice thiner crust with the toppings and a good thicker end crust. Toppings good coverage and more is better, pizza was warm, not delivered oven fresh another deduction Service was good but lagging once we received the bill, I hate waiting to pay, tip deduction. Okay not a favorite of mine as shown by my infrequency here foodguy-martin

Wanted to love this place, but there were various let downs that I just couldn't quite get past. It was our first time hearing of the place, let alone visiting it. Dear Hubby and I were staying overnight in SLO to decompress from a family funeral in the Bay Area. We needed to put some distance between the events of the weekend, and heading home for another work week for me. We also had decided to find a neat place to watch the 49ers playoff game. Thanks to trusty Yelpers, we found Milestone Tavern. The location was close to our hotel, so it only took a few minutes to arrive. It was a gorgeous afternoon - temp's approaching 80 degrees. On the Central Coast. In January. What?! Amazing! We thought about sitting outside, but knew that when the sun started to go down, it would cool off quickly. We opted for inside, and a hostess greeted us fairly quickly and led us to a table in the bar area. That was the first hiccup. We sat and sat and sat and sat. No one came to acknowledge us or take our drink order. We did have the food and beverage menus to study, but after a while it wasn't pleasant to be ignored like we were completely invisible. I was just about to go back to the host stand and let them know that we were in some kind of server jail. I was also scanning around to see a manager to let them know that their team wasn't keeping track of tables. No luck there. Mind you, there were a lot of staff wandering around in their logo tees, so they weren't exactly short-handed. The hostess who'd brought us to the purgatory table walked by at this time, and we caught her eye and let her know that no one was waiting on us. She apologized (but not exactly profusely), and did seek a server for the table. That server did a good job overall, but I couldn't help catching a vibe that she was playing the part of serving, versus really embodying the role. Do you know what I mean? I have no desire to diss hard-working students, and realize that food service isn't an easy gig. However, if that's your job, try to do it to the best of your ability. Your patrons (and your tips) depend on it. Though their menu is pretty extensive, there were drawbacks on availability of non-dairy items. For example, they seem to be known for their pizza. They have a wide variety of available cheeses, but no option for vegan cheese. Follow Your Heart makes an excellent option that many pizza places will carry. I decided to cross my fingers and try feta, which I've heard is likely to have less hormones than many cow's milk cheeses. Dear Hubby and I shared an artichoke pizza with the aforementioned feta. It was quite good. The fresh tomatoes weren't the best, but it is January, which definitely isn't peak season for tomatoes. For the price, it could have used a few more artichoke hearts. I just checked the menu - the pizza was supposed to have artichokes, tomatoes, and mushrooms. We did not see one solitary mushroom. Boo! The crust was chewy and delicious, though. The best thing we had were their fries. OMG! They were cut in a curved, scooped fashion. Perfectly fried, superbly seasoned - they were easily the best French fries I can ever recall enjoying. The shape allowed for the seasoning to come to the fore. Also, the pieces were large enough that they retained heat, instead of cooling off too quickly. Chef's kiss! On the beverage side, DH was disappointed that one of the wheat beers he wanted to try was not available. He ended up with a craft blonde brew that he pronounced "just okay". The Tavern has an extensive beer list, wines by the glass, and a full bar for cocktails. They don't publish a menu of signature mocktails; mores the pity - especially when many are embracing "Dry January". I asked the server about options for non-alcoholic drinks and she initially said, "We have sodas." Um, no - you have a full bar, and you don't have some ready suggestions for mocktails? I ended up with a springy, semi-fruity mix with pineapple juice, lime, and something else. It was okay, but honestly, just the plain pineapple juice I ordered instead of refill of the fancy drink was better. The ambiance of the space is amazing. They had their big mosaic glass "garage door"-style walls up for the indoor-outdoor vibe on a gorgeous day. The high ceilings and lots of architectural interest definitely elevate the space. There are a whole lot of TV's to watch sports. We stayed for the first half of the game, then decided to head to our hotel to watch the second half. That was mainly because we might have wanted to share a dessert to nurse into the second half, but we didn't want to have to refinance the house to pay for it. Desserts are crazy expensive here!

Located in the same plaza as scout coffee and rite aid. Milestone Tavern is a nice sit down bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. They have happy hours from 4-6pm everyday and trivia night from 8-10pm on tuesdays. Lots of variety of beers, cocktails, and ciders. We came for their happy hour where beers were $1-2 off depending on your size. Good vibes, great chillout spot, and lots of ample seating around. Servers are nice and attentive as well!

Happy Hour at Milestone is now my all-time favorite. The cocktails? The appetizers? Chefs kiss! For cocktails, I ordered the Heads Shoulders Bees and Toes and the Queen Bee. Ooo lala, they not only looked pretty but tasted fantastic. For appetizers, we got TWO servings of poke nachos (we absolutely loved it hence the two orders) and buffalo wings! It was enough to keep our tummy full and content. Definitely coming back to try more cocktails with some friends!

Have visited this place a few times now and each time the food is just as good, if not better each time! They have a huge indoor seating area with a bar and private event space, as well as an outdoor, dog friendly space. During one visit we had the nicest, most welcoming sever who is also a wine sommelier and he gave us lots of good recommendations for food and drinks (wish I remembered his name). Their drink menu is extensive with lots of good cocktail options, over 60 beers on tap, wine, whiskey, scotch, tequila and gin options. Their drinks are amazing here, especially their take on a Moscow mule which they call a "Milestone Mile" - Yum! All of their appetizer's are so delicious, especially the soft pretzel, tater tots, steak bites and wings! Their Buddha bowl came highly recommended, and was super delish (and healthy). It came with veggies and jasmine rice and you have the option to add your choice of protein. Was also lucky enough to snag the last slice of their seasonal cake, a triple layer cake with buttercream, and it was absolutely phenomenal! Great spot to meet friends for dinner and drinks! Highly recommend, and will absolutely be back again soon.

The great services of our waitress Dana brought smiles to three old bikers who got lost and ended up in San Louis Obispo.

Amazing place. Great Mexican beer. Food was very good, but the most amazing was the unmatched service of the beautiful and kind Dana. She made recommendations and also she asked the kitchen to adjust the Shrimp Lettuce Wraps menu for less sweet taste. Great ambience too!

Update review. Milestone has added a few new dishes to their menu that truly add a layer of excitement. The restaurant is still full during dinner service so get there early, hardly ever a long wait. My snarks: If you get seated on the far left side of the added on restaurant the nail salon neighbor makes eating feel toxic. Seriously, the chemical smell is overpowering, I had to move tables it was so strong an odor. There's still remains a couple dishes on the main menu that are simply too spicy to eat. The grill marks on the Ribeye steak make it taste burnt. The hamburger salad has to go, sorry, JMHO. Drinks are great. Staff are friendly. $$$ Overall Grade: A

Had the best meal tonight with excellent service and the piece of Oreo cake made by Brian was a fantastic finish! This cake was not overly sweet and wonderfully moist and flavorful . Will definitely be ordering one of these cakes for my birthday. Everything we ordered was top notch- I highly recommend Milestone Tavern.

I actually hate doing this. We frequent Milestone often. If I have family/friends in town, I bring them here. Tonight, I got friends together to come to trivia night for the first time. We already ate at home but we didn't want to be those people that just come for the trivia and don't buy anything. Our server came twice and tacked on 20% gratuity along with a trivia surcharge ($3 per person).... i've never seen that before for a trivia night. I don't know what I find to be more outrageous. The $12 (without tax) for us to play or the instant gratuity of $12.60. I'm honestly shocked. I think if you're not buying food, then it would be appropriate to charge a Trivia Night fee. But we bought 3 plates of food... a total of $81.16. I am actually so shocked and disappointed. I don't think this will be our go-to spot anymore. I'm so bummed. We definitely can't afford to do this again.

There are carvings and decorative items all about. Cozy and warm. Historically, there are stories about the various objects and mounted animals. Their menu features a scavenger hunt, which we unsuccessfully tried. The menu is a masterpiece of everything. there is a grazing menu, sandwiches, entrees, a forage menu of basic veggie presentations, and a bar with quite a few very cleaver offerings. Absolutely fascinating interior. Go inside to take it in. You will be struck amazed. Wife and I came in for dinner and were not disappointed. We felt the warmth. Specialty cocktails, draft beer, bottled beer lounge draft 16oz beers and wine by the glass. They also have some fancy custom non-alcohol cocktails. Everyone should be happy. Service was "on" but fulfillment was "off". Wait staff hustled but had to wait for bar and kitchen to come through faster. I don't usually order specialty/fancy cocktails, but was intrigued with a Feral Martini ($17). Got it and found it to be lacking flavor or anything special. It was watery and disappointing. Was surprised when I shared my feelings with our server Camille O. who took it back, credited it from our bill and brought me a replacement of my choice. Way to go! Had a Manhattan ($12) and wife had a red blend wine ($13.50). Now or our meals. Funny that we both has short rib entrees. Wife did the Taco 'bout Delicious ($21), which was short ribs with oaxaca cheese, cilantro, and a dip of house-made consomme. Like a French dip, but different. She dipped and liked it all. My selection of Braise The Bar ($29) was short ribs surmounting a mound of sage-mashed potatoes dosed with pickled onions, blistered shishito peppers (a favorite of mine) and fresh cilantro. An explosion in my mouth and truly yummy. Nothing served here is usual. Some very cleaver people spent a lot of creative energy to architect entrees, cocktails and the rest of the menu so as to be uniquely delicious. My Yelp! profile does not contain many 5-star ratings but now has this one for Feral. Give it a try and this would be a great first date of small group venture.

Both got dishes featuring short ribs, him the mac and cheese, me the entree with mashed potatoes. Pros 1. The pre-dinner cocktails were tasty. 2. The servers were very nice. Cons 1. Wanted wine with dinner. In the middle of California wine country they had only a handful of supermarket-quality wines. 2. The short run was dry and not very flavorful in both dishes. 3. The starches on both plates were not well-prepred. The mac and cheese was SO dry and the mashed potatoes were cold and lacked seasoning. 4. The starter or appetizer selection is quite limited. This wasn't a good meal, and it wasn't a cheap one, either. We won't be back.

Despite this, I was told I could not enter because the establishment downstairs had previously had "an incident" with a different service animal. Denying access based on a past experience with another dog is not lawful.
