Came here on a week day after work. They closed at 5pm and I got here around 4:30 pm. Parking is very easy, they have their own lot. Once I arrived I had to wait in line. There was 1 person at the window and I was the 3rd person in line. A banker greeted us and told us another person would come to help.. no one ever did.. I waited about 15min and once it was my turn there were about 4 people behind me. The lady at the window was very friendly. She talked with my kids and said hi. Very nice. I just think they should have more people at the windows or even ATM machines. They didn't have any ATM machines inside. It was alright but it seems like they are moving away from having people at the windows. read more

Branch NEVER answers the phone so the only way to talk to someone is drive down there and do it in person. The banker Chris Li has no clue what he's doing, sat there for 15 minutes while he looked up how to release funds for a trust. THEN he proceeded to give me the wrong information. Came back later to get an email so the attorney could get the correct information and Chris said he couldn't talk to her... about the needed documentation, nothing personal, solely what documents we needed. Worst bank experience ever. The branch manager we met, named Tyler, refused to give us a business card, did his best to add obstacles instead of helping us. For example, he insisted that the service address in the SCE bill is not enough to prove residency and the mailing address needs also to be the same physical address. Which defies all logic. My $ was placed into an acct on 6/11/2023 and 8ts 10/10/2023 and still don't have my bonus $ offer. I use Citibank for small banking needs. The good: The plus side is hardly anyone uses this branch so usually the line is fairly short. The bad: The staff is nice most of the time though. They are almost too patient - there is no sense of urgency which means every transaction either takes a long time to do or it is shabbily done. The ugly: The hours are SO inconvenient for small business. I imagine it would be even more inconvenient for personal needs. Unlocking the doors at 10 AM and locking the doors at 5 PM means if you (unfortunately) have to go into the branch, the most convenient time to go is during lunch time, the time when half the staff is missing. As for Citibank as a whole: -Extra services for small business (e.g. merchant, payroll) are a mess and not properly synced with Citibank - good luck finding anyone to help you -Small business web difficult to use -Lack of security (rumor is that Citibank was recently hacked and a high amount of signature images and checking information obtained to create fraudulent checks to which I've been a victim) read more

Extremely unpleasant experience. I don't know if it is Citibank as a whole or it is just this branch, but their check cashing policy is completely ridiculous and unnecessary. They clearly have no concept of customer experience, or if they do, they just don't care, because I escalated the issue to the Vice President at the branch, and there was not a single sympathetic ear at this branch. I like others, was tying to cash a check at this branch without having an account here, and they took my social security number along with other personal information since I was not a customer. I was told that it was to prevent money laundering. In addition, if there was a second payee, they would absolutely not cash the check. The check was issued to my wife and myself. My check was from Farmer's Insurance for $52. Somehow I seriously doubt Farmer's Insurance is involved in laundering money for criminals, especially in check amounts as small as I was cashing. That would be a cost prohibitive venture for money launderers, and is laughable. I will not go in to the specifics of the conversation, because I became heated myself, as I am sure many other customers would empathize when being treated like a criminal. This is clearly a situation where common sense is not exercised by any staff at this branch all the way up to the Vice President/Branch Manager. They are merely robots following a script, with no care or consideration for the human beings that walk through their doors. They also have no concept of customer loyalty, as we were shopping for a new bank, but we will now NEVER bank at Citibank, when they treat their customers, or potential customers like criminals. Management at this branch should all be fired and at a minimum, they should all be trained in customer service and understand they are in a SERVICE industry. Their sole purpose is to meet the needs of the customers banking with them and to increase revenue for their branch. They reel you in with good incentives to get you to be their clients/customer but than the customer service is horrible & the fees for everything goes way up. This particular branch, I went to withdraw some cash & their cash dispensing machine wasn't working, so they basically told me there was nothing they can do. You guys are a bank, when a machine doesn't work you move onto counting the cash by hand & getting the customers in & out, not this branch. The whole bank stops & you can't do any transactions. Then, if you need a money order they hit you with a $10 fee, ridiculous & $5-6 dollar fee for using out of network atm not including the fee from the other bank that you used. Without a doubt the worst bank I have ever experienced. In particular I am referring to the branch in Chino Hills. I only opened a bank account with Citibank because a young employee in the office would get a $50 referral fee and I wanted to help out. I originally opened the account at the Santa Barbara branch. Despite being told by the rep who opened the account that the referral to the employee and to myself (a pleasant little surprise) would be added in 3 months. This isn't the point of my yelp but long story short, the employee never received it until going to an executive at another branch. I never received mine but didn't feel like going through what she had to get it and just let it be a first strike against Citibank. I got married and moved to Chino Hills in December and we decided to bank with Bank of America. I moved all deposits to BofA and kept the Citi account open until it was closed on Tuesday with a zero balance. I actually missed zero by $12 and so had to also pay a $34 fee to Citi. After getting a confirmation from the teller that the account was closed I received an email Thursday, today saying I had been charged another $34 fee for an overdraft. Confused, I went to the Pipeline branch today to inquire. The teller was relatively friendly and explained that a fee from Paypal was in transit the day I closed the account and therefore Citi didn't close the account. No problem, I can contact Paypal and put in BofA payment information. The teller told me they returned the $50 request unpaid to Paypal. Even better, Citi isn't out anything and I go handle this small transaction. The teller then says that I have another $34 fee to Citi for not paying the item. I asked her to remove that due to the circumstances so we could close the account as requested on Tuesday. She came back and said her manager was making a goodwill credit for THAT $34. All the while showing me the screen printout which showed only the $34 charge which when forgiven would leave a zero balance as intended. The teller then proceeds to tell me that the assistant manager wants another $34 bank fee charged for the same $50 that was returned. She claimed that Paypal sent it twice generating 2 bank fees and she was unwilling to credit the 2nd. This left me paying the bank a measly $34 because they failed to close the account. At this point, the Assistant Manger Elaine Lopez entered came out to the lobby from behind the wall. Undoubtedly the rudest person I have ever met than is in a service business like a bank. Ms. Lopez continually smirked and said that if I didn't pay the $34 fee she would leave the account open and report me for a negative balance. I took out my wallet and said "here is $40" which should take care of it and to please close my account. She responded in a mocking manner that if I didn't take the change the account would be left open and eventually incur a monthly fee. How frustrating!! And to put up with someone being rude to a person who only opened the account to help a friend that the bank reneged on. Forced to stay I went back to the teller and Ms. Lopez went around behind her. I gave her the $40 and Ms. Lopez made a few entries and announced that now the fee was $52 and 99 cents! I couldn't help but laugh at her. My wife and I have checking account balances with over 6 figures in it so I am used to being treated well at banks but here was an assistant manager treating me like a fool. I quickly pulled $52 from my wallet and again, Ms. Lopez said that the account would be left open owing 99 cents and that quick fake smile that rude people make to me. I asked one more time that if I gave her the 99 cents and pay $52.99 (for what I have no idea) could I get ANOTHER confirmation that my account was closed. Another rude look and a yes as she passed me a penny and a receipt stating for a 2nd time that the account was closed. I have never been to a bank where random fees accumulate while I am standing there which weren't on the account when I entered the bank and in fact Citi had done nothing except refuse the paypal transaction which they should have since I closed the account. My 2 cents is to resist banking at Citibank if you have to use the Pipeline branch and by all means stay clear of Elaine Lopez. Bank of America is across the street and is as polite and helpful as you would expect a bank to be. read more

This is by far the worst Citibank Branch ever and the Vice President/Branch Manager Alex Quennevillle was the rudest person on the face of this earth. I have never dealt with someone especially at a bank that is so rude and treats others as if they are criminals because they are in shorts and a t-shirt. We have been a Citibank customer for close to 8 years and I am usually ranting and raving about how Citibank is the best bank ever well not in this case. Most of our experiences have been in the Hemet area at both branches until one closed. Then in 2011 we moved to the Inland Empire and transferred banks to the Claremont location. Never really dealt with the Chino location only usually through the ATM as we live closer to Chino but there has been fraudulent activity on our account and when my husband talked to someone over the phone they had suggested we opened up a new account and close the old one, which is what brought us into the Chino location on 9/26/2014. This Alex guy refused to open up a new account for us because he said my husband was on check systems with Citibank a few years back which I found kind of strange being at that time they let us open a new account when we transferred banks. My husband called them like he said and nothing could be found through check systems. Then we tried to open it in my name alone and he said we had to many overdraft fees he couldn't do it. These are overdraft fees I had paid at $34.00 each. I am already sick to my stomach knowing how much over draft fees they have gotten from us in the 8 years we have been with them, but then I do take responsibility on that because they refuse to give us overdraft protection. I came home and opened an account online in 5 minutes because I was already an established customer, but as of now we are looking at transferring to a Credit Union where their overdraft fees are $20.00. That's another thing if something does not go in once they try 2-3 times until it does even if your in the negative and sometimes their overdraft fees put you in the negative....Anyway if you bank at Citibank and live in chino take an extra 15 min and go to Claremont they are a lot nicer and friendlier their. read more
