Great service from the entire team and I always receive follow calls from the Personal Banker regarding my accounts and services.

This has to be one of the worst managed banks there is. Most of the tine there is only one teller, the other the windows being closed. Today qhen I entered the one open window had a customer working with the teller on what must have been a very complicated transaction. After standing there waiting for ten minutes, another bank employee appeared and I assumed she would serve me. But no, she joined the other teller to help her/her customer. I appealed to a bank officer, but got no assistance from her either. At the every least a change in manager seems needed. I could go on about how my numerous requests for a table, shelf, or other furniture on which one might endorse a check or place a purse, etc. by the ATM'S were fInally answered and a shelf appeared--only to disappear again to be replaced with a hand sanitizer due to COVID. I guess it's time to check into moving my accounts to another bank. read more

Citibank has made my life living hell. I deposited a large check from my family last week. The accepted it normally. Next day, Surprise! All my accounts are frozen and still are a week later. They said they need to talk to the originator of the check. So they did, but they made no record of it. Cannot call back talk to that representative even. I asked them if I can get my check back, take it somewhere else. They obviously don't want me to do that. Now I am mired in their mess. I'll give it one more day, then I'm going to stop the check. Very bad outreach. I have to do all the initiating. Why didn't the rep who wanted a call back call me, because no one can put me thru to her. Worse service. I figured out what happened after my account was restored 11 days later, They put my large check into my account right away, instead of holding it for 4 days. A violation of their own protocol. Then they decided to freeze my account and make me prove that I was legitimate. No regard for the customer for their mistake. That's why they wouldn't explain or answer my questions. read more

Service is horrible. they don't know their jobs and just transfer you from one number to another. I spent 2 hours going from person to person on what seems like a spam offer that was sent out via Fedex. given five different numbers to call and transferred multiple times. it appears the management went after cost savings and cheap international call center help that just read scripts rather than the customer experience read more

This is definitely not Citibank's perfect location. The staff is not super friendly nor well-trained, and the manager is a little bit off. He's always trying to sell something or push a new product, regardless of what your need is at the moment. The drive-through has a weird curb that makes it hard to reach the machine from your car, but I have long arms and can usually get the money out. Parking in the nearby lot is always kind of crazy and hard to fine. Good thing yelp has the hours for this place because I used to go there all the and find it was closed If I ever needed a money order or any particular banking services I would try not to go to this location even though it's convenient and I generally really like Citibank. read more

I was just turned away in the middle of the day. The branch closed for possibly an hour, staffing issues....although there were at least three employees standing around inside. Maybe a shortage of tellers, who knows. I don't really care, but I do care that the staff care more about a lunch break than keeping the branch open during the middle of business hours for their customers who they profess to care so much about. I've been a customer for 20+ years, and am furious. read more

Definitely not customer first. Came in just after 2pm, one teller working with a customer for a loooong time. A 2nd teller head down doing her thing, never looked up to greet any customer waiting in line. A 3rd employee/supervisor walking back and forth, also never bothered to greet or offer assistance. read more

This will probably be another one of my reviews that never gets read. Perhaps there's a message in there somewhere that I keep missing. Anyway, I'll keep this brief on the off chance that someone is actually listening. I LOVE Citibank in Lafayette. Period. I'm not sure what happened to the other two members of my troika but I've had nothing but great experiences here from day one. I'll take Citibank over Wells Farbeitforustoknowwhoyouare Bank any day of the week & Sundays (even though both are closed). Also, isn't Sunday a day of the week even though it's not a weekday? Sidenote: it's late and I'm may have just taken an Ambien. Did I mention brief? And did I write "I'm may?" The people are always friendly; the bank manager has bent over backwards for us from day one in an extremely gracious fashion, and I genuinely like everything about Citibank. My only beef is that it's harder to park in the new location but this isn't enough for me to give it anything but 5 stars. read more

dropped in this Citibank to make credit card payment. this place has parking! beats chinatown where i have to park in a red/yellow zone, dash in and dash out. inside looks like a plexiglass fortress, plexiglass in front of the teller's windows, and plexiglass lining all the office cubicles. waited about a minute, then got served with a smile. no worries about getting a parking ticket here. read more

I don't get it. I call about opening a business bank account and no one can answer my questions. I have called the LAFAYETTE, Orinda and Oakland offices and no one can answer the questions. I spent 15 minutes on each call and they finally get around to looking at the brochure but they still aren't sure what they're talking about. And this is their business banking section? Why on earth would I open an account with people who don't know their business? Why would I put my business there? read more

Horrible service. The Branch manager, Jerry Satram is rude and shows an attitude instead of helping to resolve a problem caused by City Bank. City Bank gives your information to third hand companies that will charge you money for services you've never signed for. You should not expect an identity theft from a bank. Scarry! read more

I have a Citibank credit card that I pay in person every month. Since there are branch locations all over the area (unlike Amex or Discover Card), I like to pay in person to (a) save a check (b) save a stamp and (c) know for a fact my payments are paid on time and I am never ever charged a late fee (I worked for a credit card company for many years). Yesterday was the first time I stepped into this particular branch and never will again. I bank all over. BofA, Wells Fargo, Mechanics Bank, etc. This is the only branch of any Citibank (or other bank for that matter) that has plexiglass windows in front of the tellers. Yep, felt like I was back in Richmond (heck, I would prefer going to the Citibank in Richmond after the service here). I inquired why they had the plexiglass in this Lafayette branch. I was told because they were located behind the Bart Station. I said-so is Wells Fargo at the corner and they don't have plexiglass. I was there to pay my bill. I had my bill and had my card that I swiped and had my checkbook. This was the first time I was also asked to show my ID to pay my bill. Haven't been asked to provide this at the WC Branch or the Orinda, Blackhawk or San Ramon branches either. Maybe the Bart proximity makes this a dangerous place to bank so on top of the surly customer service, the criminal type plexiglass and the fact there are branches in other local areas I won't be back here to pay my credit card bill or anything else. read more

I been to many Citibank around east bay, this is worst customer service experience I have so far. Normally Citibank always hold their standard on service level, but not this location, or just one teller that I encountered today. She sat on the far left side close to street entrance door. Very nasty attitude. No greeting, no thank you, no conversation at all. If just no conversation, I DM fine with it. But she have this nasty looks on her face, she acts like she doesn't want to be here. She is not only rude but also very slow. In 2008 when banking industry caused the "Great Recession" and Citi shares were down to $4, the Fed. Gov't should have let it Fail. It's Execs and High Ranking Bankers should have been jailed, and it's workers put on the unemployment line. I had a checking account at this branch for 10 years that had one job... to auto pay my mortgage. About two years ago, Citi changed its policies and said certain accounts had to maintain $50K or else you'd receive a $30/month penalty. I didn't notice these "deductions" to my account (which were cleverly hidden on the back side of a page in about 4-point type) for over 2 yrs!!!! When I brought them to the attention of the banker, they made like it's a Big Deal to credit me 4 months, and said "Tough Turkey, read your statement!" Like I said, for the first 8 years there were no fees, why should I expect to see them at any time! I'm filing a complaint with the Attorney General!!! Don't Bank at Citi and don't get a mortgage with them either!!! read more

This is for the citibank on 3528 Mt diablo blvd lafayette,Its as good as it gets,I recently had to close my account do to a possible relocation and I thought I would not be coming back for a very long period of time,things changed and low and behold I came back and reopened my account and was welcomed back graciously,the branch manager Jerry Satram,and all the staff will make you feel like family.I was very sad to leave but am very happy to have returned back here.One of my best banking experiences ever I also like citibank since they have locations around the world.I really cant think of anything negative.I think the old branch(near the bart station)may have issues but this branch and bank is where I will go to. read more

I went to this branch yesterday. The gentleman in front of me was clearly exasperated with the teller (Maria V) and I thought that perhaps he was just a difficult customer. But no, she really was just that bad. I wanted to deposit an endorsed tax return check and request a new debit card. Maria, told me that it was IMPOSSIBLE to deposit the check unless my husband was with me. I told her that was ridiculous, that he had signed it and was out of the country on business. Maria did not care. Next, when I said I needed to replace my debit card and did not wish to change the card number, Maria, told me it could not be done. I told her I had done it before -- Maria, said, no not possible. Fortunately Kristen at Mt Diablo was able to do exactly what I had wanted, and when I went to the Orinda Branch, they of course deposited the IRS check. Stay away from Maria on Mt Diablo. In addition to being wrong, she is also sort of snippy! read more

The entire staff here is inattetntive and poorly trained. We waited for 10 minutes when there were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE BANK! At least six employees milling about, answering their cell phones and generally ignoring us. We were told they had "a mortgage review" going on so extra people in the office. If so, they should be in a conference room out of site. Sorry but customers don't know why they're not helping! We were then tormented with 30 minutes of taking data only to be told we could not add a signer to our safe deposit unless all current signers were present. A fine answer. But we should have been told upfront as our request was quite clear. Ugh. Try Wells or drive to Orinda or WC for real banking at First Republic. read more
