What ever you do, do not invest or rollover retirement accounts. I did so and thru mismanagement I lost money. I had to consult an attorney because CIiti would not credit me back the losses. The worst. I worked forty years so I could invest in the proper investments. I filed a Finra complaint and requested arbitration. Do not invest any retirement fund with CitiBank Personal Wealth Management. I lost 4K interest because i trusted the rep. How do lose money in CD's. I left the money to maturity and was never informed the CD's did not automatically mature and rollover. The account manager in the branch was rude and refused to assist me even when I had an appointment. I had to file a FINRA arbitration complaint that resulted in a partial reimbursement not trust them. read more

Shiva Clark is the rudest teller to come across. I have multiple business and personal accounts and come to this specific branch fairly often. She is lazy and doesn't want to do her job or go a little out of her way to her convenience. My business book keeper does our deposits in a particular way so it's easier for the teller and it doesn't get lost. I explained to her we have multiple accounts here and this is to make sure it's clear which slip is for which account...which they have mistaken before at this bank with mixing up accounts and the slips. I explained that it is not ME that does this and it's another person which I authorized to do it given their mistakes above. Instead of getting a stapler to remove the staples she rudely tells me to "not staple" even though I haven't had any other teller at other branches tell me so. IF you have a suggestion as there is no right or wrong way, there is a nice customer service way to ask to PLEASE not to, she told me as if I was her child rudely. She's a bit entitled and even the way she speaks to her coworkers she feels above all. I've come across her a good amount of times to trigger me to write a review for this management. I am a business owner myself who wouldn't dare boss people around including clients who are banking with many accounts with very high amounts. read more

REVIEW OF CITIBANK IN GENERAL. NOT THIS LOCATION. I have credit cards with them, one being an American Airlines card. I recently got an invitation to open a checking account. It says after opening the checking account sign up for the promotion, meet the requirements within 60 days, and get additional American Airlines miles. So I opened the account and my nightmare began. I called customer service and they did not even show me registered for the promotion even though I input the code at the time of opening the account. They told me there was nothing they could do about it after-the-fact. I went into the branch and they said that they saw the promotion and I have accepted it in the branch but have no guarantee that it will work and after I have met the requirements if it still does not post I will have to dispute it to try to get the miles. I am incredibly savvy on the computer but this account was ridiculous to set up. The checking account has to be activated over the phone. The ATM card has to be activated separately. The bill pay set up was not very intuitive and a pain in the butt to use in comparison to Bank of America who I normally bank with. I initially funded the account with only $100 to set it up. I wrote myself a check for my Bank of America account for $900 so that I would have enough money to meet the $750 spending and to Bill pays. The check has cleared my Bank of America account, almost instantly. However Citibank does not make the money available for five business days, in this case including the weekends will be one week. I asked how long they hold deposits on new accounts, I was told a whopping 60 days!!!!!! That's a really long time. Especially when I write myself a check from my other account, it's not going to bounce I promise. I have had nothing but problems and I've only had the account for a week. As soon as I am done meeting the requirements for the promotion, and the miles post to my account, I am closing on this account and my banking relationship with Citibank. read more

REVIEW OF CITIBANK IN GENERAL AND NOT THIS SPECIFIC LOCATION Up until last month, we were customers of Citibank and had been for over a decade. Nine years ago, we opened a trust account with them. We went to a branch with all of our paperwork and they opened a checking account for us. For the past nine years, we have had zero issues. In September, we found out that our trust checking account had been frozen by Citibank because they were missing trust paperwork which they had access to when we opened the account. The only way we found out that our account was frozen was because our online login stopped working and we called in for help. They informed us that the account was frozen and they were notifying us via mail (seriously?). Between the time they froze the account and we took all of our money out, several checks bounced and now we have incurred fees. When we went to close out the accounts, no one at this Studio City location asked us why or if they could do anything to encourage us to stay. Needless to say, this was a horrific customer service experience and I'll never bank with them again. read more

Wow, talk about a joke. Last night I went by the ATM at 6:15 and it was down. This morning at 11 Am went by and it was down. I make my credit card payments through the ATM... So I went inside where the teller asked if I had my pin, I do... Calls over the Manager, sorry that the ATM has been down for two days, we are going to try and get someone here, its 11 and you open at 9 seriously are you trying. Then asked if I could pay inside, they said I would have to go buy money orders at cvs next door to make a cash payment. I will be the first to admit that I don't know much about banking or finance, and the problem I was seeking help for was probably kind of stupid in the eyes of the teller. HOWEVER she was extremely rude and condescending about it. She really made me feel like a loser because I asked what was, to her, a stupid question. I will be moving my business account to a different bank that doesn't embarrass their clients who may not be as knowledgeable as they are. I usually visit the branch in Valley Village, a while back I stopped by this branch. I needed considerably large sum of cash withdrawn from my account and didn't really foresee any problems with it. I parked my car right in front of the bank on a metered zone and deposited 45! minutes worth of quarters. When I requested my $$ the cashier called the manager, they expensively asked me many detailed questions on like what I need money for etc. After a Gestapo alike questioning , they said that I will need to wait more. Finally after about an hour they released the funds. But , after I got back to my car I had a parking citation already. My ATM fee for that day was $65!!!! read more

The odd part is that Laurie reached out to me and left this number and know they won't talk my call. I have to say, I'm glad this is my local branch. The location is super convenient, right in the midst of the Ventura Blvd strip. I might just be going at the right times, but there never seems to be too long a wait, and the customer service is excellent. The tellers are super friendly, and always greet me by name. I have been using this bank for many years and their service has been degraded significantly to the point I am now consider shutting down all my accounts. You could never get thru them and yeah, the 888 number just gives me a run around. They kept telling me someone at the branch will call me back and no one ever did. I have had good experiences with other Citibank branches in The Valley, but this one was lousy. I'd come in to close an account (no issue with Citibank, just consolidated accounts with another bank). First no one bothered to try to help me...no one seemed to care Then, when I managed to track someone down, she told me to have a seat, and a banking consultant would assist me--eventually. Turns out, I was able to close the account in a matter of minutes--by working with a TELLER in another branch. No idea why the woman (who might've been the manager) didn't know that and direct me to one of the tellers in the Studio City branch. That should have been easy. She either didn't know or didn't really care...my guess is, it was BOTH. Citibank is fine, but this branch experience was very disappointing. read more

i usually don't use branches unless I really need. I went to this branch and was extremely annoyed by the assistant branch manager. (tall lady) when i moved, i called customer service to change my address. of course, they made mistake as always. i didn't get my bank statements for months. also, i changed my package to one that requires less balance. of course, they didn't. so I've got charged $40 service fee. those are two reasons why i went to the branch. I spoke with a young lady but she had no idea. i believe she was new to the role or not experienced. I ended up talking with this assistant branch manager lady. in a word, it was very unpleasant. all she cared about is who made mistakes and which banker i opened account with. I told her i called 800 and they changed my information incorrectly. She didn't listen. She told me she has to find who made mistakes and that branch needs to refund my fee for 30 mins. Lady, i don't really care... just fix the errors. That is all i ask! She was very condescending and kept telling me "I can give you $40. but you need to be educated" WTF?? i wasn't asking you to give me money. i'm not homeless. in fact, i'm a Citigold customer. and what? I need to be educated? by you???? you're joking, right?? YOU need to be educated to stay in your job. clearly you don't know how to interact with customers. saying hi by the entrance is all you can do? I was extremely annoyed so asked her for a refund , change my type of acct and correct my address. That was October. Now guess what happened. i've got charged $40 again, there wasn't a refund from Oct and she didn't change my package. people can make mistakes. i'm not upset about that.
