There are so many issues with this branch that would be easy to fix, but they never do, which suggests that they don't care. Why is there no ATM INSIDE the branch, i.e. in a safe place where it's hard to place a skimmer and you don't feel you need to have someone watch behind while you use the ATM...? Why don't the redesign the parking lot so it's not so challenging to get in & out without risking running into someone else? Why-oh-why does no one tell whoever it is who REEKS of cheap cologne or aftershave to lighten up? It is so overwhelming that I can smell it through a mask and it is ALWAYS there. read more

I hear there are places established to harvest negative energy. This branch is absolutely one of them. Assuming this is true. I am a Chef. Way over a decade. If you come to my restaurant and we mess up your food, I can assure you that it will be fixed. I will personally see to this. Walked in to get some help with my accounts, there was no one in line and no one in any of the cubicles being helped. I watched as the representative went cubicle to cubicle asking if the customer service rep would help me and they all shook their head now. None of them were on the phone at the time I'm sure they had other appointments but none of them would even speak with me. Had to call seven times in a row in order to get the manager on the phone who was unavailable. I lodged my complaints with a person who had zero empathy for the situation. This bank mailed my credit card to the wrong address and said person used it for over 10 years and was paying and i never got any statements and never knew this happening until they defaulted. My baker at wells ran my credit report and saw that i had an almost $9,000.00 charge off so i went to chase and paid it. I took said person and chase to small claims and chase must be contributing big time to our local politicians, because they're bulletproof when it comes to culpability. I was given a judgment against said person and put a lien they're house. Chase bank is the worst. read more

I was a First Republic customer promised a smooth transition to Chase. That did not happen. Despite promises years of access, they deleted my bill history and after two months just told me they cannot help get it back. They transferred almost nine of my bill pays and could not even tell me what payments were sent. They took away free ATM access that I have had for years. And when u adjective for help, they jerked ne around for two months and then said nothing could be done. What a terrible terrible experience. I am ditching this joint. read more

Walked in and made appt to open a chase private client account. Showed up today and advisors said I needed a coupon through the mail to get the $1250 incentive. Talked to manger who concurred. I then went to my car and the offer is still up on their website. Called chase who then connected me back to the branch. No one is paying attention, nor wants to actually work for the customer. I parked in the back lot and this man was standing next to my car. I had no idea who he was until he started to tell me that I can't park here. His name was Larry. He did not have on a uniform and seemed to be dressed like a random guy. I had to ask him "do you work for chase?" You would think parking lot attendants would wear uniform. I would like to share the great experience I had with Private Client Banker Mark Aguiar. I had a rather complicated process to open a Special Needs Trust that involved court order documents and many other steps to ensure it was set up properly. Mark had patience and took lengths to explain and advise me what exactly I needed to bring in with me to open the accounts. Since this branch of WaMu became a Chase bank (like all its other WaMu brothers and sisters did), one physical change has stood out to me as aces in my book: the entrance. Because previously it was that super-annoying set-up where only one person could enter at a time. Now, you can just walk into the ol' double-doors at will. It seems ridiculous but seriously, this has been my favorite change since Chase took over. And in other news, the staff has not changed much. Just a few new faces and especially Robert, the new assistant manager who is as nice and helpful as they come -- even going above and beyond to help me out when my new Chase debit card was not finding its way to me through the mail (no joke- it took over two months for us to figure out what was going on with that thing). I never had a problem with WaMu I can recall so overall, I'm glad to see the Chase takeover, at least in my local branch, hasn't been a revolution, just a smooth transition. read more

Today around 12:00 pm Saturday October 11, 2021 i was verbally attacked and threatened by a Chase employee in the parking lot. A man wearing a yellow vest who was picking up trash in the parking lot who works for Chase started started walking towards me after I parked. I literally Just had gotten out of my car and was walking towards Chase when he was screaming at me saying if I am not going to chase I need to pay in the machine. I said I am going to Chase, and he continue to walk towards me yelling at me repeating the same thing over and over. I was horrified and I started running away to the opposite side of the street and he was screaming at me to come back. I think I called Chase about 30 times trying to get a manager or security guard, someone to come outside and handle this insane and terrifying situation. I was too scared at this point to walk past him to go to the bank which is where I was going to the first place, or even back to my car. I waited about 10 minutes to compose myself and then started to walk back to my car thinking it was best to just leave all together. I see him waiting a few feet by my car saying come back here he wants to talk to me. At this point I am dialing 911 and slowly walking to my car, no one is really around at this point but keep in mind this is broad daylight. I am beginning to get horrified he seems violent and probably on drugs and I said I am calling the police stay away from me don't come near me I am terrified of you. He tells me go ahead and call the police he can do whatever he wants, thank God a woman drove down the alley stopped her car roll down her window and said what is going on get in the car and I will drive you to my car . This woman literally saved my life. She drove me through a different alley and drove me right next to my car, at this point the man who is yelling at me (5'6" white male, facial hair slim build) Was off in the distance probably scared of what was going to happen. I am never going to this branch again. How awful that no one was picking up the phone, and that there isn't even a real security guard in the parking lot to make sure things like this don't happen. If it's not a specific requirement on purchasing a cashier's check for my first home, thanks for almost spoiling that by the way! ...to not being able to assist your customers with basic needs efficiently. Don't impose rules that your other branches somehow have no knowledge of, it's literally only this branch! Lastly, when customers are asking for an explanation, don't ask "what don't you understand?" The cherry on this sundae was a teller belittling an elderly woman for asking why she couldn't do whatever it is she was requesting, you're literally getting paid to do just that-service your customers. read more

If I could only give zero stars! I've been making cash deposits for the past five years, at least, at this particular chase bank (in addition to another branch in Sherman oaks and in Beverly Hills) without issue until this month. The past two times I've gone in were the last two times I will ever set foot in that establishment so long as it remains a Chase bank. I don't know if it's the new staff who lack common sense or if it's some moron who was promoted to management for some ludicrous reason or what but I'm just astounded. Today I attempted to make a cash deposit (business account) of several thousand dollars. All but $7.80 of it was cash. $7.80 in coins. All denominations. I was immediately told I would need to roll the coins in order to deposit them. ... What? I need to roll my coins? Since when? And why? And why have I never been told I needed to roll my coins when making a cash deposit into a business account? It's not like I swing by the place twice a year, I'm there every week (sometimes 2-3 times per week) and not once has anyone ever given me any hassle until now. Furthermore, there aren't enough coins to fill any rolls with in their entirety! I got loud. I will readily admit I got upset. Like so upset every person was staring at me upset. I wasn't going to roll anything. The bank manager (person number three called to the scene for assistance) proceeded to tell me this was an existing policy. I proceeded to tell her every single person on staff aside from the schmuck next to her didn't follow procedure then nor had been for years. She told me they didn't have room to accept the loose coins. I'm sorry, what? I am standing in a bank, am I not? You don't have room? What kind of asinine and bullshit response is that? I just want everyone to know that I took the money back and left without making a deposit. As soon as I got in the car I called the branch in Beverly Hills because I knew I'd be dropping by there first thing in the morning. I asked the girl what their policy was. If you have over $10 then of course they should be rolled. I can understand that. I explained to her what had just transpired and she told me that the manager and teller were both in the wrong. My deposit with $7.80 in coins was perfectly fine to deposit as loose change and had no reason to be rolled because no rolls would be filled completely. THANK YOU! She said it didn't make sense at all. So way to go! Zero customer service. Zero common sense. Zero deposits from me at your branch going forward. I encourage others to take notice of the new faces on board -- a complete and utter failure of decisions to bring them on. read more

The revolving door in Sherman Oaks as well as a number of, "mishaps", due to lack of experience in tricky situations, such as,(moving personal accounts into your Trust), propelled me to stop by the Studio City branch and try my luck, here. Lucky, I was when I met Bill. He not only, fixed the mess, I was thrown into but he told me how to deal with my safe deposit box, and he dealt with the restrictions that somehow popped up on my ability to use my debit card. This man is special, really special; if you're smart enough to have him as part of your financial team, you'll understand what real, luck is. I called the branch this morning and asked if I could get some documents notarized which is/was a benefit of being a Chase customer. The person asked my name, went and checked and came back and said that, yes, it was no problem, there were several notaries on duty, I didn't need an appointment and I could come in. They even asked the kind of documents and checked that they were okay. When I showed up an hour and a half later, I was told that the policy of notarizing documents for clients had changed....TODAY. This was the first day of the new policy and they were sorry, but they could not help me out. I was told that the person I spoke with was 'probably a teller and they don't really know our policies' and that there was nothing they could do for me. "We were really busy this morning so a teller probably answered the phone and they don't really know." Really?? They also said they would have to do more training so my situation did not occur again but they couldn't do anything for me. What a terrible way to do business!! YUCK! read more

Some of the people here are good (like the guy behind the business window), and the others, well, it's obvious you're interrupting their day and they'd rather be doing something else. And perhaps they should be. I'm only writing this vent my frustrations, not from one visit but several over the past two years. From my perspective as a customer, it seems a bank branch should be run with the #1 goal being to get people through the line as quickly as possible. Everyone in the branch should be geared toward moving the line. Especially the tellers. But, at this branch, the tellers consistently disappear when there are any number of people in the line. Today, one teller left to socialize with a customer that brought in one of those little dogs, leaving only 2 other tellers. And then one of those tellers left, leaving only one poor new guy to deal with the entire line. WTF?!? I'm usually very forgiving when it comes to things like this because there's no way I can know all the things people like tellers have to deal with. Maybe they do need to go take care of something legitimate. But, leaving to go hold a little dog and socialize on the main floor in front of everyone? Come on. It's obvious they really don't give two ***** about you. read more

Have been banking at this branch since it was Home Savings 30 to 40 years ago. Competent staff able to do anything I need. Whether visiting the safety deposit box or settling my mother's accounts when she passed away etc. After noticing all of the negative reviews I guess it is true that people generally post about bad experiences but not good ones. I was informed when I opened my account that I would have a 24 hr overdraft protection, meaning, if I overdrafted, I would be allotted 24 hrs to bring my account into the positive before any overdraft charges would apply. However, this is not true. I made a deposit after work tomorrow to bring my account balance in the positive after overdrafting by $20 from earlier in the day. I made the deposit WITHIN 24 hrs/same day to assure there would be no overdraft charges. Then checking my balance today, I was charged 2 overdraft fees equaling $68. Why you ask?! Because you are NOT allotted 24hrs as I was misinformed, but are required to make the deposit same day by 11 pm (EASTERN)- I live in The pacific time zone. This is utter crap, and on principal alone, I will be searching for a new bank!!! read more
