You'll pay a lot but Toscanini does a fine job of making sure it's worth it. Most restaurants this expensive are more formal, stuffy and quiet. I had my Birthday the last weekend in January and they had a spectacular market menu that caught my eye. I usually don't pick Italian but they had a foie appetizer which I had to get. The servers at the bar, I think their names were Danny and David helped us pick out the Veal Scallopini to share. It had a wonderful crisp crust and a soft egg on top! The veal also sat on delicious chewy homemade noodles with short ribs. Huge portion to be shared so well worth the price. Then they brought out a coconut gelato with strawberry crumble for me Bday dessert. Yum. Everything here is homemade and the servers at the bar made my night special. read more

Toscanini benefits from being in a prime location in Beaver Creek village and from being the only Italian restaurant in the immediate area. If someone is seeking a low hassle (e.g. they don't want to venture out) meal, then I'd say go for it. If someone is seeking an culinary delight and an appropriate value for the price paid, then I'd keep looking. We went to the restaurant on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was maybe 2/3rds full and we had okay service. When selecting a wine, we asked about a Chianti, our waiter steered us clear of that saying he knew of something better. The wine he suggested was good, however we noticed that three or four other tables around us also had the same wine. We wondered if they had cases-upon-cases in the back. As for the food, we both ordered fish - on the special, the other off the menu. The fish was cooked quite nice, however everything else on the plate was extremely salty. I actually pondered the health trade off between eating my vegetable versus my blood pressure due to the high salt content. Of all the meals we ate in the area this was the most expensive. I'm fine paying a lot for a meal (I did go to Beaver Creek), however I also expect high quality. Unfortunately, Toscanini didn't live up to expectations. read more

My husband and daughter ate there last year and have raved for a year about how we needed to go there and dine as a family. So this year we went...spent $420. Service from Neil and Jason was impeccable! Our apps were okay...our meal was horrible. Lamb was tasteless and the ravioli' that came with it were crunchy. Lobster meal tased like dead fish. Smelled so bad my daughter couldnt even eat it! We have a daughter that us dairy free...her meal came with a lot of cheese on top. (And yes we told them). Not worth the money at all. We visited Toscanini after a wonderful evening of dance at Vilar. I would rate the food average and the service poor. I injured my finger on a damaged chair when we were seated. Although the lady who seated us was very quick to take the chair away and offered to bring ice for my finger, there was no effort to make any amends. This is a high end restaurant. You should expect a higher level of service. A visit from the manager with an apology would have been a nice gesture. Offering a glass of wine would have been a nice gesture. I would have left thinking they cared. The charcuterie plate was incomplete when they brought it and I had to ask for the fruit terrine that was supposed to be included. We went to Toscanini the second night after arriving in Beaver Creek this past July, I gave them 1 star because the food is decent. We had reservations for a party of 9. We got there early and asked if we could seat at a table further away from the edge, there were at least 3 more tables accommodating 9 people. They said "no". The waitress was nice but messed up most of the orders. The food took about 40 minutes to come out. One of the kids ordered chocolate ice cream and they brought him vanilla, when we informed the waitress that he ordered chocolate to please exchange it they stated "we don't have chocolate" at the same time as another child in our table was being served chocolate ice cream. When we pointed out the obvious the waitress apologized and said "I don't know why the manager told me to tell you that". The manager was a blonde young girl. Needless to say I would never go to this restaurant again. The people who run it are rude and unprofessional with their customers. We felt mistreated and insulted. read more

The pasta was very sad, the marinara sauce seemed like a blended can of tomatoes. They get three stars for the great Nebbiolo and Chianti Classico by the glass and the mushroom pizza with Brie was fantastic after we asked them to put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes. This is a place to come in for pizza and good wine by the glass in the bar, pass on the entree... I don't think it's worth the big money you have to spend. The dining room is also very outdated for what they advertise as fine Italian dining. It's apparent they are in a great location and profitable in spite of their product. read more

Hostess at front desk was very helpful and professional. Initial barman had same great attitude, 2nd one who eventually assisted was a tad sourly. The ambience in the bar is cool but like most of BC you get the feeling you can't stay for long! Our server "Giuseppe" was very attentive and helpful with the wine and the food menu. Overall the food was well received by all 7 of us in our party. If I have a small criticism - the Osso Buco did not have enough sauce and it was not 'fall off the bone' tender as a great OB should be! I am surprised that this restaurant has only 3 stars on yelp, based upon my experience it definitely deserves a 4-5 star rating. We had dinner here our first night in Beaver Creek. If you're staying in the village, this is a great spot to try, located right behind the ice rink. Service was relaxed and friendly. We had the seafood tagliatelle, as a starter. It was a little spicier than I was expecting but very good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the seafood was plentiful. Our second course we had the elf tenderloin, served with pesto potatoes. Everything was delicious and incredibly filling. If you like high quality italian food, this is a spot to check out. read more

I have been to Toscanini many times over the past 15yrs. We hadn't been back for several years and decided to dine there, hoping it was as good as in the past. The hostess seemed very disinterested. Our waitress was lovely, but there were too many lapses in between courses. I ordered a seafood pasta, and when I realized that there was some stray pieces of meat in the sauce I brought it to my waitresses and managers attention and they didn't seem in the least bit interested or concerned. My wife had the chicken ( Pollo ) and they served undercooked cold chicken with potatoes even though the waiter said they switched the potatoes to risotto. Not. I had a nice meal here midweek in December so I emphatically suggested a return last night with my husband and another couple, none of whom had been to Toscanani. What a disappointment. The restaurant was packed and the food was flat out bad. Our bolognese dish came with noodles stuck together and gross chunks of cheese. The clam pasta was watery. We could barely eat any of it. This is particularly upsetting as we come to Beaver Creek most weekends and have been on the hunt for a terrific restaurant. We will have to keep looking. BC seriously needs to up its food game-in comparison to Vail, it's abominable. read more

What a joke! Service from the moment we walked in....below average for the prices you pay at Olive Garden, let alone a $30+/plate for mediocre food. On a Friday night in ski season we walked in wanting a table for two and both hostesses kind of stared at us blankly as if we just asked them a complicated math equation. They told us it would be 45 minutes and that we could wait at their bar (where the wine glasses were dirty), without even asking for our name. Ten minutes later a table miraculously opened up, to which we sat down and didn't see a server, or even a bus boy, for over 10 minutes. After ordering two plates of pasta and a mussels appetizer (which was dreary at best), our entrees arrived over an hour later. How hard is a plate of gnocchi and ravioli? Love this place! Walked in at 8:55 pm. Felt bad because we didn't know that they closed at 9:00 pm. on a Friday night. I would never choose to do this as I know everyone from the wait staff to kitchen staff are ready to go. When we found out we apologized to the waiter for walking in so late. He was GREAT! He did not rush us and set us at ease that it was nothing to worry about. Spent time going over the menu with us and helped with selecting a great pinot noir. He recommended the Manzo Costatine and Capesante di Mare as well as the Carne Pizza and salad... WOW! The food was awesome. Can't wait to go back to Beaver Creek just to eat here again. read more

We have been here twice & both times were a disappointment. For an Italian restaurant, they don't do it well, at all. The last time, my husband had the gnocchi & it was a boiled but nearly uncooked mass of dough. Even after he had sent it back to be re-cooked (or replaced), the pasta was undercooked. The service is spotty. Our first time there, the waitress was pretty snooty. Our second time back, a different waitress was very helpful & apologetic about the gnocchi. We won't be back. read more
