    Rigatoni- so good!

We have been coming to Breck since 2018 and just discovered this place - our loss, this place is legit and so good! We were craving Italian and saw the sign on the second level and had to have it. Unfortunately, I just had knee surgery and can't go up stairs, which was all we saw at the time. My husband enlisted the bartender to come down and guide me to the "secret" elevator it seems few people know about. There is also a ramp that we discovered later, so that works, but it was really sweet of Grace the bartender to help me out. On to the food - so amazing!!! We were there for happy hour and sampled several items. The rigatoni with sausage was solid - they accidentally made a dinner size portion which was wonderful because it lasted for another dinner and it was so good we are going back for more. The filet tips with gorgonzola was a surprise, it's a sauce that you could slurp on for days, and the brussel sprouts with bacon was solid. We are staying 3 more weeks and will spend every Sunday there with the amazing Grace bartender and delicious food! Next time we are going to try the pizza and will definitely get the rigatoni again.

Got dinner here with the family. Pretty big spot with plenty of seating and wide selection of Italian food. We got 2 10" pizzas and 2 pastas for our family of 4 to share and we cleaned up...Pizza was great and tastes super fresh! Pasta was also great! Service was super kind and helpful as well.

My boyfriend and I came here after we checked into our unit. We were looking for a restaurant that was walkable and The Village at Breckenridge recommended Sauce on the Maggie. Walking in the ambiance was very cozy and smelled great. Definitely looked more on the nicer side but there was no dress code. There was also a slight wait but reservations are a must even if you think it's not busy! We both ordered the meomi red wine which was great, the fried ravioli as an appetizer, and then split a large 'House Sausage Specialty' pizza. We sat at a high top in the bar area and the service was very quick, and the food was out quickly as well. Our server was super helpful when deciding on what to eat and allowed us to have some wine samples before ordering our glass. The food itself was delicious! The fried ravioli were very filling and the order came with a lot as well. The pizza was delicious and large. My bf ate 3 slices and I ate 2 and we had half of the pizza left. The only thing I can think of is all of that came out to $92 which is crazy to me but we knew that before even going to the restaurant. Overall everything was great from the ambience, service, and food and would definitely recommend if you're in an Italian mood!

We always try to go to Sauce on the Blue when we're in the mountains and since staying in Breckenridge we wanted to try Sauce on the Maggie. I was a bit disappointed by the food this time around, but I'm totally comparing it to my experience at Sauce on the Blue. The mussles were great, and probably our favorite although they were very oily... the caprese was good but overpriced for what we got. All the bread we got was super burnt and hard. I was honestly surprised they would serve it. We got the ravioli of the day... which was stuffed rigatoni and was just OK. I would go back to give it another chance because the service was good and it's really nice inside. Maybe it was just an off day!

Stayed in Breckenridge for a week and this restaurant was a 3 minute walk from my hotel. I went in for Happy Hour at the bar which was perfect, I had a few glasses of Pinot Grigio. Ty and Nikki were both great to me the 2 times I came in. The food deals on the happy hour menu were pretty good steals. I tried the fried ravioli, shrimp scampi and the steak. Some of the best food I had on my whole trip. It does get busy fast inside so if you are planning on making this a stop on your trip, make a reservation first!

I don't normally write reviews, but I think everyone needs to know about our experience. To start off, the prices were extremely unreasonable considering the quality of food. If you're a soda person, be forewarned that they will give you Pepsi/Diet Pepsi when you ask for Coke and not tell you they don't have Coke!!! Be prepared to bring $500 cash because they won't tell you there is a surcharge for credit card expenses but it will show up on your receipt. You want a classic margarita pizza?? Too bad, you're getting garlic pizza with no sauce. They must have put all the sauce on the Maggie. It's hard to sus out a good restaurant on vacation so we'll spare you the trouble--don't go here if you want a good meal!

Got linguine and clams, and chicken Alfredo, and calamari for appetizer. Linguine was god, strong wine taste and a decent amount of chopped clams. Chicken Alfredo could have more cream/sauce. Calamari was ok. Nice view from the window. Service was average- somewhat slow and not super attentive.

We were happy the restaurant was open for Thanksgiving as we ate there last year. My kid has celiac and ordered gluten free penne, we asked about the pizza but he said it's all cooked together so not celiac safe. I ordered penne vodka and asked for a side order of the Thanksgiving sides (stuffing and mashed). The sides were yummy. Pasta was a pretty standard dish, they don't make the pasta there but the sauce is pretty good. My kid ordered ice cream for dessert (celiac safe) which was $8 for a little bowl eaten in two minutes. I had contemplated ordering tiramisu and asked if it had nuts as I have a nut allergy. The server said it didn't and started listing ingredients which included frangelico. Which has hazelnuts in it so I corrected him and opted out of dessert but that was a close call. They were so great with the celiac so I was surprised and I really hope the server went back and asked questions to clarify ingredients for future patrons. It was $85 for the two of us with no drinks so on the pricier side but it's Breck. If you want pasta and don't have allergies it's a great atmosphere. If you have allergies I would ask for the manager or chef to be certain you will be safe. We are trying a different ski destination next year so unsure if we will be back to give it another try.

The food here is really old, which sounds like a bad thing but in this case it's actually really good because it's sourdough that's been aged for nine years (kinda like how cheese does that I think). They kinda incorporate it into every single part of the meal, which is really cool. I mean if you have a theme stick to it, you go girl! It also kinda feels like a mining company store in here, which is really silly. I don't remember our servers name, half of my party think it's Eric and the other half think it's Evan, but either way he was mega awesome sauce (I just asked and his name is Torin, we were really far off sorry). The deserts were heavenly, the Tiramisu was beautiful and you can tell they made it in house. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE COOKIES!! Woah dude, they were crazy. I now can whole heartedly tell you I know what Kermit meant when he said "Wherever you find love, it feels like Christmas". Top 10 pizzas, beats NYC and puts Brooklyn in a head to head match. Even the guy on the bus from Chicago said it gave his local place back home a run for its money!

We were immediately greeted and shown to a table. Waitstaff was wonderful and joked with us as if we were old friends. That's always the best feeling. While they stayed professional we cracked up here and there! We started off with calamari. Both the red pepper marinara and spicy aioli hit the spot. Calamari was fresh out the fryer and brought to our table so quick! I ordered a lasagna Bolognese and that also came out fast and super fresh. I could only finish half of it and that was all that was needed to make the trek home. Keeping this place on the map. By the time we left it was nearly packed! The main drag has so many good options. This is certainly one of the spots to dine!

Food: I thought it was going to be just so-so, Olive Garden level italian food. I was wrong! I first asked our waiter, Brian, for recommendations and he said they were known for their Mama G's classic red sauce. We ordered the bruschetta and I got the linguini and meatballs, which has the famous red sauce. My gf got the lasagna and the greek salad. The bruschetta was delicious. I really hate it when restaurants throw diced tomato and basil on toast and call it bruschetta, Greco's did not. The crostinis were perfectly toasted - crispy but didn't crumble everywhere and didn't cut up the inside of your mouth. The balsamic reduction over the bruschetta was delicious, but I think the tomatoes, red onion, basil and garlic were mixed with some balsamic vinegar or something similar before being added to the crostinis and glazed. Vinegar should always be used to brighten veggies, not overpower them, and Greco's nailed the vinegar-tomatoes proportion. It was fresh, crisp, flavorful, and had the perfect amount of salt to enhance the tomato flavor. My girl's greek salad was huge. I didn't taste it, but I trust her opinion, and she said it was delicious. She didn't finish it but did take it back to the airbnb and is already snacking on it again :) The lasagna was delicious as well. The noodles were thin, so it didn't feel like we were biting into a chunk of pasta toast with sauce and ricotta as the butter, which happens often with lasagnas. This lasagna had the best ricotta cheese I have ever had. I asked the waiter if they used a bechamel sauce in the lasagna because of how creamy it was, but it was just the ricotta! They do not make it in house, I asked, and I wish I knew where it was from. Gf still won't stop talking about the lasagna and called her brother to tell him about it, lol. The star of the show: The red sauce. Our waiter wasn't kidding when he said it's delicious. I genuinely got mad when I tasted it because I've always been proud of my red sauce, and no sauce has ever beaten my recipe, but now I'm determined to scratch my recipe up and recreate this one. Sauce is the most important part of a pasta dish, so a plain sauce always means a plain dish, and you have to depend on parmesan to make it better. Not this one! It was a beautiful, bright red, fresh, tangy, with the smaaaaaaaaaallest hint of spice. I'm wondering if they add a splash of balsamic reduction for the tang? Not sure, but sure as heck wish I knew. It literally tastes as vibrant and bright as it looked. If there's one thing you try at this restaurant, it has to be a dish with the red sauce. Lastly, we got a free cheesecake with a homemade strawberry sauce. I didn't know the sauce was homemade until I bit into it and I literally wanted to throw my spoon down and stand up out of pure bliss like that guy on TikTok who checks meat for tenderism. It was so good. Strawberry sauce is often overpowering, just a thick, nasty, too-sweet syrup, but this sauce tasted more like a jam. I loved it. Drinks: I got water. Gf got riesling. She really liked it! Environment: Warm. As soon as you enter, it feels like you're walking into a cozy, golden little restaurant. They do have TVs all over, so if you're into sports, good for you! The lighting was not bright but not dim, it felt....gold? That's the best way I can describe it. It wasn't too loud in the restaurant, so you didn't have to speak up and you couldn't hear other people's conversations, but it also wasn't dead quiet and we did go when there were only about 4 other tables being used. So I really don't know about how loud it is when it's packed! It was also warm in there, which is nice for a Texan like me who isn't a fan of the cold ;) Overall the environment was very warm and welcoming. Price: Fair pricing! Actually, pretty affordable for such fresh and local ingredients! Our bill was about $100 for what we ordered and the two glasses of wine. I think that's pretty fair! Staff: I didn't catch the name of the guy who took us to our table, but he was very welcoming and kind! We chatted about what we're doing here in Colorado and he let us sit at the booth table right next to the window. He said it was the best seat in the house ;) He was great! We also LOVED Brian, our waiter. He was so welcoming, kind, attentive, he knew all about the menu, he was incredible. He literally made our nights from how much of a doll he was. This was my first night up here in Colorado ever, so he was the first Colorado-ian that I spoke to! I truly hope everyone else here in this state is as great as he was. Brian was the perfect introduction to the beauty and kindness of this state. The red sauce was great, but he was the highlight of our dinner.
