Quick to see a doctor and my share of cost is awesome! I get a perception of antibiotic and lumps goes down. I cancel other tests and everything seems fine. January hits and my new work insurance starts- NOT ONE DOCTOR can see me anywhere on the day I walk in. Lump returned. I was beside myself that this place doesn't have a contract with Aetna. I made an appointment somewhere else but things are dragging out and I can't help but wonder why I waste my money on insurance which at this moment seems like a waste. I got treated faster and cheaper showing how little I make here! If you know someone that thinks they cannot afford to see a doctor, I highly recommend bringing them here with their last two paycheck stubs. I guess I was lucky to not have a long wait here, but still being seen on the day you walk in- that doesn't happen in Riverside anymore. This could have easily been avoided if this doctor filled out the forms online, but not only does he refuse to do that (probably so he can charge for it), but they do not even have the proper forms in his office. I mean... how is that even possible? All of our utilities, our rent, and our bills are all overdue, all because he failed to fill out a small little section of a very simple form. Thankfully, my mother no longer needs the surgery she was scheduled to have with this doctor. After seeing such an appaling lack of care to such a simple task, I wouldn't trust him to make me a bowl of cereal, much less with my mothers life.

While the doctors are excellent, you cannot get in to see them because you have to go through their call center that puts you on hold and then reroutes you to another department and puts you on hold only to be told you can't get an appointment for three months with your primary. You can no longer book through your primary and if you need a specialist uou have to go through your primary even if you have a PPO, which means you could literally be waiting for care for months. I know people who have said that their parents passed away because they couldn't get care in time. This place is a shitshow. I hope they get hit with multiple lawsuits. Steve asked if was on Ocella, I said yes and he said the Medical Procider mentioned I was changing it? He phrased it as a question and I said "oh no I have been on Ocella for years, I don't want to change my birth control at all at all, it very important to me" he conversed with me about how he understands, especially with birth control, when something works you don't want to mess with it and that that was fine, we'd stick with Ocella. I'm given my prescription in a white paper bag as usual and head home. Upon arriving at home I see my medication is taped up in an additional white paper bag inside of the packaging. I've never received it this way before in the 8 years I've been taking it.. and you know why ? BECAUSE HE HANDED ME A DIFFERENT BIRTH CONTROL! I understand that maybe this is what my insurance is now covering, whatever. They are similar but this brand has a higher anxiety side effect (I have an anxiety condition!) higher rates or headaches and migraines which I already struggle with wearing contacts and long hours on screens for work, it also has a higher risk of weight gain. I feel like he tried to sneak it past me, didn't want to hear me potentially upset about the change and decided just to tape the sh*t up for me to notice later on. I felt like a tennis ball being bounced back and forth between gynecology and neurology. Neither department would take ownership of my health, and because they refused to communicate with each other, my organ damage was completely ignored. To make matters worse, they just kept referring me to physical therapy because the endometriosis was causing radiating lower back pain--which it currently still is. They were trying to treat a muscle spasm while completely missing the fact that a disease was actively choking my kidney.After my recent MRI, RUHS left me completely in limbo with zero follow-up appointments to explain my results. Dr. Farkouh is an unsung hero. He stepped in, thoroughly reviewed my MRI, and broke the news that deep endometriosis had severely compromised my bladder and kidney. He immediately prioritized my life, coordinated my labs, and ordered an emergency catheter to drain my kidney and relieve the dangerous pressure. He treated me with the respect and urgency that every other doctor at this facility lacked.Unfortunately, the rest of the RUHS staff proved how broken this hospital is. The Interventional Radiology department blindsided me with a same-day catheter placement without telling me in advance, leaving me completely unprepared. Following the procedure, the hospital totally abandoned me. The office never called to check on me, never scheduled a follow-up, and never arranged for anyone to change my surgical dressings. I had to completely bypass them and go to an outside network just to get safe, hygienic wound care.The system here is dangerous and broken, but Dr. Farkouh is a brilliant, life-saving light in a horrible facility. Avoid this hospital if you have a complex illness.
