I purchased a groupon/living social for two sessions at City Acupuncture. I had always been curious about acupuncture but a little hesitant to try it. I went during finals when I was the most stressed out I've ever been in my life, and I'm now a believer! (I know, I know, Journey would be sooo disappointed in me for not starting out that way.) The needles don't hurt at all, and they are sterilized and disposable. Jose is a really interesting man who will talk to you as little or much as you want, which I find appealing when I'm really stressed or crunched for time. The music is soothing, the service itself superb, and the heat lamp was the icing on the cake. When it was over I felt like I'd woken up from a deep sleep--I was so relaxed and calm. It helped me get through exams and papers, and I will definitely be returning to explore the other benefits of acupuncture to see if it can help my allergies. I've been to several acupuncture practices before and this is hands down the best! I started going to CAC for issues related to autoimmune diseases. In my first conversation with Jose, I mentioned that I hurt my left knee and hamstring eight months ago in an overuse injury. After months of PT and three different opinions, I was so frustrated. Jogging for 15 minutes made my knee and hamstring hurt so badly it was hard to sleep. After my first treatment, I decided to try going on a jog. No pain. Not during the walk/run (it had been months since I'd run), and not after. I've since gone on several jogs, and while I can feel pain, it's not that different than a sore muscle or runners knee, which I already have. As for the autoimmune, Jose listened to me and was thorough in explaining the proposed treatment plan. I've seen Seth since then, and he does a great job, too. I'm feeling so much better and for the first time in years, feel like the root of a lot of things is finally being addressed. read more

I've had acupuncture in the past for physical ailments, but I recently started going to City Acupuncture Circle to try and relieve some stress and anxiety and help me sleep better. I've had three sessions, and I'm definitely hooked. I cannot definitively say the acupuncture has solved my problems, but my 1 hour a week in this room is something I look forward to. There isn't much privacy, but everyone is calm and respectful. They put the tiny needles in you and then you just sit and relax for 45 minutes or an hour. I always fall asleep, and find myself having the most interesting dreams. I finish the sessions so refreshed and peaceful. At the recommendation of a coworker, I checked out City Acupuncture to help with migraines and anxiety. It looks quite small when you first enter but there are actually 6 stations comfortably set up. Super efficient. Online appoints, email appointment confirmations and reminders, payments made with square. (payments are on a sliding scale based on your ability to pay!) Staff: Joselo, great welcoming calm energy. He will do a thorough intake with you at your first session to find out what hurts, why you're there, and what you are hoping to achieve with acupuncture. Sessions last roughly 45 minutes depending on your specific condition and treatment. I am new to acupuncture but am finding it to be a great compliment to my life and schedule. I have only received acupuncture at City Acupuncture Circle and have been going weekly/bi-weekly for about two months now. JoseLo is treating me for some nagging running issues in my legs; IT band inflammation and a deep muscle strain. In addition to acupuncture he has been using Graston techniques (scrapping/rubbing muscles). I have found the treatment to be amazingly helpful and use it as a semi regular part of my conditioning when training for marathons. I don't even know where to begin...but thank you seems like a good place to start. I have been suffering from abdominal bloating and pain on and off for four years. This pain was debilitating to the point that I could not get out of bed on some days; I started to think that this pain was something I had to live with for the rest of my life. Medication did not alleviate my symptoms and the only thing that seemed to sort of help was my heating pad. I saw primary care doctors, specialists, and even had diagnostic surgery to figure out what was going on but sadly, no one had answers for me. After being in horrible pain for a week straight I thought, "What do I have to lose by trying acupuncture?" Luckily, I found City Acupuncture through Yelp and I am so happy that I did. It is a wonderful, calming place with attentive staff. Joselo was incredibly kind and made me feel at ease. During my session, I fell asleep and woke up without pain. It's absolutely incredible. Joselo spoke with me after my session and gave me something no other provider was able to give me regarding my pain: hope. I left the building on cloud nine. I expected the pain to return a couple hours later but for the first time in a long time, I slept so comfortably. I feel like myself again and that was only after 1 session! Worst place to get acupuncture and customer service since I've been getting acu for almost 4 years now. I had a patient of mine come in and rave about the owner and how he takes care of patients, the sliding scale fee and all! The following Monday, I made an appointment with Seth. The only person available. I get there and he's nice in the beginning, asks questions and gets me set up on a table. He puts the needles in then I pass out. I wake up to another woman telling me I'm all set. She takes out maybe TWO needles but I had at least 6-8 throughout my body. I tell her there's more... she takes out a few more but I still have some in. I keep telling her there's more. I have no idea why Seth sent this random woman to take needles out of me that she had no idea the location of. What if I had walked out and still had some in? Why didn't he tell me I was done, remove the needles that HE put in? I soon felt outside of what I thought was group therapy. I had to get his attention to ask if I was done because I was still unsure what was going on. Fast forward to the following week where I wanted to ask the owner how a first patients appointment was supposed to go to compare to my experience and Seth answers. He claims that the owner is out of town all month so I am left to leave this review. He put a horrible taste in my mouth and maybe I should've waited for the owner but I will not be working with Seth again. Still unsure if I want to come back. The idea of this practice is awesome but not if you're neglected and had a horrible first time! If I were you, I would wait for the owner. I heard nothing but good things about him. read more

I came to City Acupuncture on the recommendation of a family member who had been visiting Seth for her acupuncture for anxiety and I had seen it work WONDERS for her in a matter of 2 or so weeks and thought I would give it a try. My experience has been just as great. I have needed help with headaches due to barometric pressure changes, a ridiculous amount of tension in my shoulders, neck and jaw, as well as allergies (contact and otherwise). I really can't say enough good things about Seth and my experience here the past month. In my experience I have been thoughtfully listened to, closely attended and overall healed from my time working with Seth. If you're like me and have never had acupuncture before and are tight on money (the struggle is real) you will NOT be disappointed here. It's really is a shame that more acupuncture practices don't utilize this community model. read more
