I first ordered a half slab of ribs cut and 2 sides , a salad w dressing and pork & beans well the ribs were dried out and they didn't even give me bbq sauce like I ordered for them also there were only 3 ribs that were of normal size and the other 3 were half the size l felt like I got cheated of of the rest of them being so small but it really didn't matter because they weren't tasty enough being dry and all the meat stuck to the bones. At 5:45 we got a call that our order pick-up time had been pushed to 7:00 which was not acceptable. I waited to place my order while admiring the industrial-style interior that was selected. The staff were upfront about being backed up and the wait time to receive my food was so long I didn't bother to track it, but I'm a patient man and I've been in the food industry so I get it. I ordered the Rack of Ribs (half and full), Nashville Hot Chicken, and fries. Once I finally received my meal my first impression was the serving size. I thought it was more than enough but I feel the higher prices didn't match the portions. The ribs were lightly drenched in sauce and not as tender as I would have wanted them to be (a bit chewy and dry). When the meat slides off the bone with little effort that's all that matters to me and unfortunately tonight wasn't the case. Nonetheless the rest of the meal was decent and my family left content. They have a sister location in Vernon Hills that is excellent so I expected this to be the same. It is not. They seem to run out of meats super quick and the service is pretty bad. I know it's a rough job, but we got zero help when we were there. Our food also came our lukewarm and cold (we were one of the few tables in the place) . They remedied some of the cold dishes, but it was disappointing. While the place closes at 9, it seems like they want to close up at 8. I guess I'll stick with the Vernon Hills location. read more

The restaurant is beautiful and well lit, and clean. But the some of the bbq is pretty poor. The brisket is steamed mush, uniformly an unappetizing, wet grey color. There's bark only on one side and the server placed it down so you couldn't even see that. No smoke ring, and the slices were cut very thick so you wound up with stringy meat, stuck in your teeth. The St. Louis ribs were just ok. They looked like they were barbecued, but again were served very wet. Were they frozen and microwaved? I thought the portions were incredibly small. A two meat selection got you only three rib, bones, and three fork sized lumps of the brisket. And you have to pay an up charge of three dollars for each of the meats! read more

At any point in time they could have texted me and let me know this before I got there and not taken my money for the order which they gladly took. Ok I read the reviews and when I visited with a friend, it was with some trepidation. Well, our food was delicious: the brisket was melt in your mouth tender AND tasty. More Cowbell was a terrific sandwich. The side of slaw and the fries were plenty to share. The only downside was no forks were available but it was near closing time. I get it, we used spoons for the slaw, who cares? A week later I visited with my hubs and again the food was yummy: he loved the cornbread and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and I had brisket again. We again were able to share sides. It was all still fabulous. We will definitely return when we're in the mood for q. The staff both times was totally friendly yet constantly hustled. Man, they moved - no slackers here. The service was the only thing that made my experience with going since I was meeting a friend and it was practically pouring rain. The food is still the same as I remember it. The pulled pork is pretty dry had to be smoother in the BBQ sauce and was at room temperature at best. The mac and cheese was between cold t lukewarm at best.
