We ordered two Polish dogs with fries and the chicken tenders with fries. Everything came out fast, and you could tell the food was fresh. The chicken tenders were my favorite--they were crispy, juicy, and didn't taste frozen like they do at a lot of places. The Polish dogs were really good too. The owner was also very kind to me and my daughter before we left, which I really appreciated. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was pretty warm inside, especially with the hot weather and hot food. This is located in Schiller Park, about 7-8 mins away from O'Hare International Airport. They have two entrances to enter/exit. Spacious parking lot. The restaurant has a divey appeal to it with seating inside and outside. You place your order/pay and then wait for them to call you. Service was good and friendly. I ordered an Italian beef extra wet with hot and sweet peppers, a mango Italian ice, and jalapeño poppers. The prices were good, not expensive. The food portions were great, you won't leave starving. This is in my top 3 for Italian beef along with Johnnie's and Teddy's Red Hots (Darien). Overall the place is small but busy. It's hidden and a hole in the wall. We had the double cheeseburger, fries, and fried mushrooms. The great things about Frannies the meat patties are cooked to order on the grill not a flat top with that said had a great char flavor. Ordered Frannie's for catering the other week. Everything was packaged very nicely and carefully and was HOT when it got here. Guests were very happy with the meal and it got a lot of compliments. This is for sure some of the best Italian beef I've had in the city. The beef and au jus came separate and they give you a tray to combine everything just an fyi. The chicken was also very flavorful and had a really buttery sauce to it that made me go pick up another piece. Me and my husband have been here a good 4 times and never experienced what happened, we walked in they looked at us pretty racial profiling he is African American, I'm Hispanic, the guy act like he didn't want to take our order and the owner was right there. I felt like we were profiled and on top of that the guy who always is there said how much my husband gave him the credit card and he threw it on the counter.. The food was ready he didnt even tell us anything, left it on the counter, i told my husband i guess thats ours, he was very disappointed on our treatment, that is not proper customer service, I really liked there food but after this experience we won't be back.we are hard working customers and that service is not appropriate at all. Stopped at this cute beef stand. It reminds me of an old farm house. You can tell this place has been around for a long time with the memorabilia on the walls. A nice guy from behind the counter took my order, an Italian beef with fries, dipped. The beef was extremely tender with good seasoning. The bread held up well to being dipped. They had a spicy celery giardiniera. It wasn't as spicy as I like but good nonetheless. The fries were salted and were a perfect way to sop up any leftover gravy from the beef. First time there. Nice spacious parking lot. The person taking our order was super patient with us even though they were crazy busy. We got 2 beefs dipped, meatball sandwich and 2 steak Italians. I don't know how we have not heard of this place before. I think these are the best beefs that we have had. Homemade giardiniera was delicious and beef wasn't too salty like others I have had. Rosen bread was still chewy even after being dipped. The right amount of beef, not skimpy. Steak Italian sandwiches were super flavorful. Fries were fresh. My kid ate the whole meatball sandwich so I didn't get to try it, but it looked good. Wish I had known of this place years ago. As each table cleared, someone came and washed them. It pains me to give this review. The whole vibe of this place is great. The interior bright and clean. Plenty of parking. The staff friendly and cute. But the Italian Beef sandwiches . . . sadly, or not, is what we came in for. On initial sight, they looked great. Ordered wet, sweet & hot peppers. The bread did not hold up, but this happens. The taste . . . where was it? I was quite hungry, and got a few bites in before I was all "Wait, this . . . has absolutely no taste.". No savory beef taste. No vinegary peppery giardiniera taste (WHAT). It was so weird, for a minute, I was all "Have I come down with COVID?" (I have not.). The giardiniera tasted like plain celery, crunchy, but . . . nothing. Even the pepper was bland. I love me some vinegar, but there was none here. And the au jus seemed to be . . . olive oil running down my wrist. No taste whatsoever. It was the weirdest thing. But . . . with that said, I'll come back and give this place another chance. It was clean, bathrooms were spotless, the staff was as cute as can be, and friendly. Next came the Chicago dog. It is legit, though I'm surprised it's not on the traditional poppy seed bun. Otherwise it's perfect and stands up to those offered by the better known places. A little heavy on condiments, but I only mention that because it makes the burger so messy. My fiance declared the Italian beef to be fantastic, as well as the tiramisu.
