Been coming here for awhile. I really enjoy their beefs. The owner is very friendly and makes funFB videos showing off various menu items. I saw one of those videos for the Steak Italian and had to give it a try. The marinade flavor is great but unfortunately the bread/tomato/steak ratio was way off. Barely any steak. Most definitely won't be ordering that again. I still give the place 4 stars because I like their beef's and the fresh cut fries. read more

We ordered two Polish dogs with fries and the chicken tenders with fries. Everything came out fast, and you could tell the food was fresh. The chicken tenders were my favorite--they were crispy, juicy, and didn't taste frozen like they do at a lot of places. The Polish dogs were really good too. The owner was also very kind to me and my daughter before we left, which I really appreciated. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was pretty warm inside, especially with the hot weather and hot food. 09/13/26 - I've been on a beef tear lately. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Frannies Beef @ 4304 River Road in Schiller Park. I was in the area so I took a small detour & stopped in & grabbed a beef dipped w/giardiniera peppers. Frannies has a good solid beef. I asked for it dipped I got it dipped w/the sandwich swimming in a pool of beef Au jus. The beef was excellent but the bread was a soggy mess. This is located in Schiller Park, about 7-8 mins away from O'Hare International Airport. They have two entrances to enter/exit. Spacious parking lot. The restaurant has a divey appeal to it with seating inside and outside. You place your order/pay and then wait for them to call you. Service was good and friendly. I ordered an Italian beef extra wet with hot and sweet peppers, a mango Italian ice, and jalapeño poppers. The prices were good, not expensive. The food portions were great, you won't leave starving. This is in my top 3 for Italian beef along with Johnnie's and Teddy's Red Hots (Darien). Portillo's is more for tourists. -Italian beef extra wet with hot and sweet peppers 5 - the fries were decent, I usually like my fries to be crunchy and seasoned. The Italian beef was amazing. It was moist throughout like what I wanted. The hot and sweet peppers added more flavor. Yes they do give you a good amount of beef. -mango Italian ice 5 - I think they gave me a large size since they don't have a medium. A large is good for two people. This is one of the best ones I've had. Homemade and it tastes like eating mangos. -jalapeño poppers 4.5 - only reason I took off half a star is because one of them was missing a jalapeño and cheese. Just those will bring you in for a bite. Since I don't live close by I also had a beef, dipped, with giardiniera . While it's not the best I've had it was in my top 5. It was tender and had an excellent giardiniera, on a bun that held up well even with it dipped. I would order it again. I really enjoyed my lunch and will bookmark this spot. Excellent Chicago style Italian beef and hot dog stop with plenty of other offerings. Just outside city border in Schiller Park. The menu is large enough to try something new every time. Super clean with great parking. It's obvious it's a family run business as real Chicago and anywhere. Totally legit traditional dog house. Pretty sure they've been around a long time. Naturally the Cubs playoffs game was on. The staff is super friendly and know their business. I had their homemade meatball sandwich which was really good and filling. The red sauce was very homemade topped with sweet peppers and their own version of gardiniera peppers. The fries are on time. Real deal fresh fries on the thicker side. Ordered Frannie's for catering the other week. Everything was packaged very nicely and carefully and was HOT when it got here. Guests were very happy with the meal and it got a lot of compliments. This is for sure some of the best Italian beef I've had in the city. The beef and au jus came separate and they give you a tray to combine everything just an fyi. The chicken was also very flavorful and had a really buttery sauce to it that made me go pick up another piece. Overall the place is small but busy. It's hidden and a hole in the wall. We had the double cheeseburger, fries, and fried mushrooms. The great things about Frannies the meat patties are cooked to order on the grill not a flat top with that said had a great char flavor. Stopped at this cute beef stand. It reminds me of an old farm house. You can tell this place has been around for a long time with the memorabilia on the walls. A nice guy from behind the counter took my order, an Italian beef with fries, dipped. The beef was extremely tender with good seasoning. The bread held up well to being dipped. They had a spicy celery giardiniera. It wasn't as spicy as I like but good nonetheless. The fries were salted and were a perfect way to sop up any leftover gravy from the beef. Called in an order that should've been 22$ and some change turned out to be 52+ for four items (two fries two single items) costing 4.75 each. On the convo didn't ask for what size for fries each then when I arrived when asked about it the order was the same okay wife wants she gets, I get into the at she starts eating a little because she starving says the items were cold... 50$+ at a fast food place is wild work. For 50+ I could get a dinner sit down sea food boil that is out this world. Typically I order delivery for me and my family and we have been for years however as of the last two months or recently, the food quality has dropped off along with increased prices for the food. That's not my main gripe though as this resturaunt is one of the few left that still use their own delivery drivers rather than doordash (thank god) so the delivery prices are much cheaper than other resturaunts. My main problem is the drop off of quality in the food. The fries are usually overcooked, chewy, and hard as of recently. Along with the last order I did last week where some of the fries where covered in a weird sauce i could not identify. It's really a shame to see this happen, I'm not sure if the resturaunt got a new owner or something but clearly they are doing something wrong. Aside from that, the burgers are fantastic here along with the gyros, they absolutely load it with a lot of meat. Me and my husband have been here a good 4 times and never experienced what happened, we walked in they looked at us pretty racial profiling he is African American, I'm Hispanic, the guy act like he didn't want to take our order and the owner was right there. I felt like we were profiled and on top of that the guy who always is there said how much my husband gave him the credit card and he threw it on the counter.. The food was ready he didnt even tell us anything, left it on the counter, i told my husband i guess thats ours, he was very disappointed on our treatment, that is not proper customer service, I really liked there food but after this experience we won't be back.we are hard working customers and that service is not appropriate at all.
