Man what a great family business in Rosemont! Great family owned Italian restaurant. Ordered thr 2 Chicago Hot dogs with all thr fixings and a drink. Also picked up a small Italian ice ...all of it was amazing Service was great and fast. This is a small spot that couple of families can sit at and nice outdoor deck for those sunny Chicago days.

This is located in Schiller Park, about 7-8 mins away from O'Hare International Airport. They have two entrances to enter/exit. Spacious parking lot. The restaurant has a divey appeal to it with seating inside and outside. You place your order/pay and then wait for them to call you. Service was good and friendly. I ordered an Italian beef extra wet with hot and sweet peppers, a mango Italian ice, and jalapeño poppers. The prices were good, not expensive. The food portions were great, you won't leave starving. This is in my top 3 for Italian beef along with Johnnie's and Teddy's Red Hots (Darien). Portillo's is more for tourists. -Italian beef extra wet with hot and sweet peppers 5 - the fries were decent, I usually like my fries to be crunchy and seasoned. The Italian beef was amazing. It was moist throughout like what I wanted. The hot and sweet peppers added more flavor. Yes they do give you a good amount of beef. -mango Italian ice 5 - I think they gave me a large size since they don't have a medium. A large is good for two people. This is one of the best ones I've had. Homemade and it tastes like eating mangos. -jalapeño poppers 4.5 - only reason I took off half a star is because one of them was missing a jalapeño and cheese. The others were fine. Not spicy at all.

Best in the business! Their Italian beefs are number 1 in the world! All handmade fresh ingredients! Perfect for the entire family! Indoor and outdooor searing, family owned! Love everything about this place! Vince Sr, Vince Jr, and Russ are the best! Best food, best hospitality! Can't say enough good things about this place! Try it yourself!

Plenty of FB posts from ownership brought me in. Well worth the stop. Really enjoyed my Polish. Plenty of caramelized onions and peppers. Nicely done!! The fries were really good! Just those will bring you in for a bite. Since I don't live close by I also had a beef, dipped, with giardiniera . While it's not the best I've had it was in my top 5. It was tender and had an excellent giardiniera, on a bun that held up well even with it dipped. I would order it again. I really enjoyed my lunch and will bookmark this spot. Come check it out and be impressed.

Dropping my wife off at O'Hare, we need a bite to eat. Let's try Frannies..First time customer, I was so excited, ok hungry too. Small restaurant, cozy chicago style. I ordered the chicago dogs and fell in love, that pickle relish and peppers are a match made on that dog..the dill pickle on top, I almost had a orga.. Oops too much info. The best chicago dogs I've had in decades.. you have to try this place out.. 8 stars

Classic Chicago Beef stand. Excellent service.Chicago style hot dog was excellent. Giardanara was unique, homemade and spicy!

Excellent Chicago style Italian beef and hot dog stop with plenty of other offerings. Just outside city border in Schiller Park. The menu is large enough to try something new every time. Super clean with great parking. It's obvious it's a family run business as real Chicago and anywhere. Totally legit traditional dog house. Pretty sure they've been around a long time. Naturally the Cubs playoffs game was on. The staff is super friendly and know their business. I had their homemade meatball sandwich which was really good and filling. The red sauce was very homemade topped with sweet peppers and their own version of gardiniera peppers. The fries are on time. Real deal fresh fries on the thicker side. A great spot to give a try or make regular.

Ordered Frannie's for catering the other week. Everything was packaged very nicely and carefully and was HOT when it got here. Guests were very happy with the meal and it got a lot of compliments. This is for sure some of the best Italian beef I've had in the city. The beef and au jus came separate and they give you a tray to combine everything just an fyi. The chicken was also very flavorful and had a really buttery sauce to it that made me go pick up another piece. I have got to stop in sometime for an individual order because the catering was so good. I highly recommend Frannie's if you are looking to cater any event!

Overall the place is small but busy. It's hidden and a hole in the wall. We had the double cheeseburger, fries, and fried mushrooms. The great things about Frannies the meat patties are cooked to order on the grill not a flat top with that said had a great char flavor. Making it a good burger with the melted double cheese and its ingredients. It's a plus they had fried mushrooms. Will be back to try the Italian beef and hotdogs.

Hotdog with only tomato's and pickles right??? WTF
Richard S.

You fu@&ing assholes yet AGAIN screwed my order up!!!!! How hard is it to get a hotdog with tomatoes and pickles only????? Every damn time I order hotdogs you screw it up!!!! No I'm not bringing my order back to get it corrected because I'm already at home!!! No I don't want you to bring me a new order because how do I trust that you didn't screw with the food???? Not to mention that I'm pissed off and not hungry anymore. This is NOT the first time that you've done this but now it's the LAST time!! I watch the owner ask the girl if the order was right and she said yes. I should've made you physically check but no,,, I'm a fu&@ing idiot and trusts too easily!!!

Beef , sweet and hot plus fries.

Standard carry out hot dog and beef stand in Chicago. The service is counter as well as delivery if you're nearby without a car. Very casual order from the counter and then find a table inside or out. The food this year was just as good as when I had it last year. If you're near Ohare and need a good beef this is the spot. Not only good beef but great fries as well.

Michael C.

My first Chicago beef. Got it loaded with sweet and hot peppers. Quick service, fair pricing, fresh and hot food, flavorful sandwich. It hit the spot. Very impressed with the sandwich!!

A small update , still love the place still love the food especially but went outside my regular order and got a chicken Cesar salad for $11 . The container was smaller than my hand and it had a few slices of chicken and some shake Parmesan cheese , not shredded and no croutons. Very underwhelming and won't be ordering that again! But I assure you I still eat here bc they have the best food , just wouldn't order a salad from them .

The food was delicious- we started with toasted ravioli and stuffed mushrooms and it was a great way to start. I wanted to try the fish tacos as that's normally my go-to, but I knew I wouldn't be able to eat them all after the appetizers, so went with the steak quesadilla, which had a ton of cheese and chopped steak so you got some in every bite. Order a few drinks and talked with these two guys for fifteen minutes or so off and on before we even ordered anything. Just felt right, small conversation great atmosphere. We each ordered the three taco plate. I had one fish taco, one elote taco and one Arrachera taco. My wife hard three pork belly tacos. Hard to say which was out favorite because they were all equally as delicious and bursting with flavor from the fresh ingredients. I also got to try their seasonal blood orange margarita, which was also delicious! We had the flautas appetizer and for my entree, I ordered the chorizo taco and the pork belly taco. I didn't even make it to the pork belly taco because I was full off the flauta and chorizo taco lol. The hot sauces that they bring to your table in the squirt bottles were bomb dot com!! Spicy enough for some "flava" but not burn your bottle hole spicy. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment for the vibes (I requested they play Bad Bunny and they obliged- zero questions asked and no pushback) and the food! If you're ever having group get together or small party, this place would be great! They also have brunch on the weekends which I will bring some moms back for, for some "Momosa" Dates! A short fuse and a close call…read more After Emily and I checked in to our hotel room, we wanted to stretch our legs and see if there was anything nearby for some beer and some food. Turns out, Short Fuse was right up the road and a 5 minute walk got us there. For a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but not dead, so we got seated right away. We ordered some beer and took a look at the menu. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them. Had the burratta & fig, porkbelly brushetta, and a flatbread as apps. Loved it all. porkbelly was so tender, the burratta & fig was a good balance of sweet and savory. Needless to say, the flatbread was a hit with the kids as well. Other notable dishes were the beef shwarma and the crispy duck. Ambiance- LOVE it! It can be fancy if you want, it can be more casual if you want. Enjoyed the church vibes mixed with modern touch. Very well decorated. The outdoor area is so cute, esp overlooking the lake. We sat indoors but still a wonderful ambiance. Bonus: they have a changing table in the women's bathroom. Sorry, could not confirm in the men's. Service- this was definitely impressive. You don't always get service especially at some of these well known restaurants bc why would you have to have good service? We had made reservations online and it was initially indoor. They were so awesome about switching it to outdoor with out much trouble even if we were 10 minutes late. But the air quality was so bad so once we were about to get settled we requested for indoor again. There was only smiles and a happy to help attitude and got us settled. I want to highlight our waitress, Ciara (Sierra?). With a party of 9, she was so thoughtful of our orders esp for the kids. I mean, when we ordered lemonade for them she even asked if she wants us to water it down and as parents we were like YES! They do not need that much sugar LOL! She was just overall so warm and communicative. She checked in and made sure we were comfortable. Her smile and pleasant attitude made it easier when we had three little ones wanting to walk around after eating and trying to keep them entertained at a table.

My husband and I chose Foxtail on the Lake for our five-year wedding anniversary because we wanted…read morewhat we hoped would be one of the most memorable and romantic dining experiences in the area. We intentionally made this our "no budget" celebration, expecting exceptional food, service, and hospitality. Instead, it turned into one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've ever had. Our reservation was for 7:00 p.m. on July 2, and despite having a reservation, we waited more than 20 minutes to be seated. During that time, we watched people walk in, greet someone they appeared to know, and be seated immediately at the bar while we continued to wait. My husband had gone out of his way to ensure our anniversary would be acknowledged. He noted on the reservation that it was our five-year anniversary, called ahead before our dinner to confirm the restaurant was aware, and even checked with the host stand when we arrived. We weren't asking for anything extravagant--just the kind of small acknowledgment that many restaurants happily provide for guests celebrating a milestone. Nothing happened. There was no congratulations, no acknowledgment from our server, no candle with dessert, no handwritten note, nothing. We even ordered dessert ourselves, and it arrived exactly as if it were any ordinary Tuesday night. The service only added to the disappointment. Our server was curt, rarely checked on us despite our ordering two appetizers, two entrées, dessert, and several rounds of drinks, and never made us feel welcomed or cared for. For a restaurant positioning itself as a destination for special occasions, the level of hospitality simply wasn't there. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. Considering the price point, we expected much more. Most dishes were surprisingly bland and underseasoned, and nothing we ordered stood out as memorable. At the end of the evening, my husband politely mentioned everything to the host stand. The response was essentially that our anniversary "must have gotten lost in communication," followed by an offer of a dessert to take home. By that point, the moment had already passed. A boxed dessert cannot replace a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that was overlooked from start to finish. No manager came over to speak with us, no one took ownership of the experience, and there was no meaningful attempt to make things right. This wasn't just dinner--it was our fifth wedding anniversary, a milestone we'll never get to celebrate again. We chose Foxtail because we trusted it would deliver an exceptional experience worthy of the occasion. Instead, we left feeling ignored, disappointed, and wondering why we spent so much money on an evening that felt like an afterthought. If you're looking for a restaurant to celebrate an anniversary, proposal, birthday, or other meaningful milestone, I cannot recommend Foxtail on the Lake based on our experience. There are too many restaurants that understand hospitality and know how to make guests feel special. Sadly, this wasn't one of them.
