My partner and I happened to be in the area and found this gem of a spot. Their pastor tacos are among the top if not the best I've ever had. The place itself has a lot of character and it is fun to look around to see the little intricate decors they've placed around the restaurant. The service was also very attentive and friendly. Overall if I could give this place more than five stars I would. It's a type of spot that I would plan errands around so I can stop in for a meal. 06/04/26 - I went here again for their Thursday daily special. Today they had 2 steak Enchiladas & 1 steak taco w/Rice. & beans. I asked for a double portion of beans instead of the rice because I love their beans. They are seasoned perfectly. The steak enchiladas were very good but tiny. I guess if you only pay $8.99 for 2 steak enchiladas & 1 steak taco w/beans the portions will be small, but still it's very good food for a very reasonable price & the people working there are super friendly. read more

Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised that they have a daily special every day, I tried the burrito dinner special. After ordering my food at the register by the friendly guy behind the counter he told me the table number that I would be sitting. The dining room was neat and tidy with a lot of plants. Even near the restrooms. Once seated they bought out chips and salsa. The chips were warm and crisp but the salsa were good but nothing spicy. My food arrived and the server asked if I wanted the spicy salsa. And I'm like Yes Please!! It does have a kick but not as much as I have hoped for. I dove into the refried beans first, they were creamy and didn't have that burnt taste. The rice was good with corn and a couple of green beans. The burrito wasn't one of those overloaded burritos, it was a great lunch size burrito that was loaded with steak and not a lot of filler such as lettuce. The burrito with the spicy salsa was flavorful and a great bite. It wasn't wet and held together really well. This place is a bargain compared to the other spots in the area. For me....its hard to find a good taco spot. I really enjoyed this place. The Carne Asada was cooked exactly how I like it...the rice and beans were good as well....this is before I put lime and salsa verde on top. I was too excited to know that they sell Nopales (cactus) tacos and it was just how I remembered eating them as a teen. So good! Very cute & charming place. Loved the decor inside. I got the most amazing chimichanga with Al pastor/seasoned pork While my fella got the taco meal. Best part is both had rice n beans while my chimichanga had some guacamole too. We got the chips and salsa just a sample all the variety of salsas. It worked out well. The chips are delicious and fresh and the three varieties of salsa were a nice surprise on our meal today that we ordered for delivery. This is my favorite family owned Mexican restaurant. Lots of options, from tacos to tamales, from tilapia to steak to chicken to vegetarian. The chips are ample and always taste fresh with squeeze bottles of green and red salsas on the table. The seasonings on the chicken are flavorful without being overwhelming and are not spicy (although there's spicy salsa available for anyone who wants it spicy). I love the huaraches and sope for how filling and versatile they are. The crunchy texture of the base blending with the creamy beans and sour cream is perfect comfort food for me. Service is excellent. When we get in, we can choose what table we want and immediately a friendly server greets us. She always recognizes us, making us feel welcomed like regulars. She's explained many of the items that we weren't familiar with, and easily accommodates any food preferences. Since I prefer skipping meat, they offered to add rice to my huaraches in place of meat which was delicious. Food comes quickly and always fresh and makes to order. Ambiance feels so warm and inviting. I love the orange and yellow vibrant paint colors with beautiful art work on the walls. There are always two TVs playing, one in each area. One has volume, the other not. If there's a big game, they play sports, otherwise it might be a soap opera. I don't love tv playing but it's easy to ignore as it's not too loud and clearly others appreciate it. Small parking right in front requires backing onto touhy ave so we always park on the side street just east of the restaurant which makes getting out feel safer. But whether you want the close parking or walking half a block , there's plenty of parking available, free. read more

I really wanted to like this place since I prefer to support small locally-owned businesses. However the food itself was just okay. I took my son for a late breakfast. He had a steak burrito which he enjoyed. I opted for huevos rancheros since growing up as a Tejano I used to love this dish. While there was nothing bad about the food, the flavors were ok and the corn tortillas that accompanied the huevos tasted like the tortillas I buy and warm up from Aldi. Service was sparse probably since it's tough on many restaurants right now. Will I make a return visit? Probably not as there are other options in the area. read more

This was the best Mexican meal I have eaten in the 20 years I have been in Chicago! So delicious. We had the chicken enchilada suizas with green sauce and the tostada special with beef which was very tasty too. Just a small family owned store front but the food was delicious. The service, our server Keylin, was very attentive and sweet. We were impressed that even the owner/manager stopped by our table and asked if we liked our dinners. Good service, the guy who took our order was friendly and kind, I got the taco dinner, al pastor was really good, carnitas were tender and the steak actually had flavor, some places seem to forget to marinate or add spices to their meat, not here, flavorful meats, my daughter got al pastor quesadillas, nice presentation, cut into triangles, she enjoyed them, did not find the prices to be outrageous, tasty horchata as well, the large is huge for $3.99, gonna eat in next time, as the little dining room was inviting and nicely lighted, no overhead bright lights, plus you get free chips and salsa when you dine in. It has a homey feel which makes sense since father and son and maybe other family members are back in the kitchen working utter magic! Eric could not have been more accommodating. The food: The tacos, rice, beans and guac were yummy, as was the chili relleño. LOVED their salsa verde and rojo. Be aware! Very rude and bad customer service. We ordered 4 dishes to go, we talked to the cashier woman then to the man (as she can't understand English so well) and requested flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas and he said it will cost you more and we agreed. When I arrived home after picking up the order there was no tortillas, I called him to complain, he told me that we requested no tortillas. He asked me to come back to take the tortillas. I told him that's about 30 minutes of driving, can you deliver them, he told me that they don't have delivery (they have, I checked online). I told him you need to refund me then, he refused and hung up the phone whileI still speaking. Very rude, can't understand English so well and even not wishing to correct their mistakes. The other thing, they charged me more than the prices in the copied menu or online delivery menu. read more
