I meet friends here because it is an easy location for us all. Our waitress was manning the whole restaurant by herself while staff talked at the bar. Didn't seem fair. She was wonderful but also overwhelmed. The others should have stepped up. I ordered the French toast. It wasn't any better than I could make at home. Food came out not great. You can tell the side potatoes were made ahead of time and plopped on a plate. It wasn't remarkable at all. The bloody Mary's are good. I asked for a beer back but never received it. I won't go back. Too bad. I used to really like this location.

This bar doesn't pay its bands. Do not patronize! I saw this on a Chicago Musicans' Facebook group.

Always a great spot for food - I typically do breakfast but today I got the lunch. Burgers are good but my recommendation is to NOT get a stuffed burger but get a burger and have the stuff on it or accompany it . The stuffed burger could only be cooked one temperature because of the stuffings Steak fries are good and glad they brought back the sweet potato tots - hope they bring back the curly fries next :) Great spot for breakfast lunch and dinner always have specials

House was packed, a lot of tables were reserved for a shower, managed to find a spot. Had the 3 dollar Sunday special, sloppy Joe's and potatoes, pigs in the blanket. Food was delicious and the service was great from the young woman who had our part of the bench table.

The firewater saloon is an awesome spot! I really love their breakfast. It is a mountain country style breakfast. They always have live music and the beer and drinks are always great! If you are looking for a good time or a good breakfast in the morning, come to the firewater saloon!

Have been to Firewater a handful of times; definitely a local spot in town. Have eaten their food which has been good, but this review is on their breakfast. We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday, plenty of space. I was between the skillets or a wrap and chose the Hoedown skillet. Their skillets all look good, but a little heavy. My boyfriend chose the classic eggs Benedict. He enjoyed his. My skillet was decently good, but the ratio of eggs and the rest of the food in it was off. If you're looking for a skillet with a lot of meat, choose the hoedown. It does come with a Texas toast which was good. Lots of breakfast options, the wrap looked good going past me. Just felt like I chose the wrong dish this morning, but also, nothing out of this world. Fun bar to go to on the weekends at night though! Just might skip the skillet next time.

Solid establishment with excellent menu items and strong pours!!! Bartender was attentive and knowledgeable about the area

Guinness out of a plastic cup is just the best. Ten out of ten, I would recommend to everyone!!!!

Gross jalapeno popper grilled cheese (more like a cheese sandwich with overcooked innards). Not recommending

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow! For $8, or $11 for a generous tuna scoop, you can't beat it. Staff is also quick and friendly at the deli, as well as checkout. You can find all kinds of things for the house or to gift someone whether it's food, a cookie jar, something imported from Italy, or a homemade meal. You'll find something for everyone.

I ordered The Brando (their Italian sandwich) and it was fantastic. The Calabrian chili aioli completely made the sandwich, I'd never had it before and now I'm officially a fan. The place itself has a cool old school Italian deli feel with plaid tablecloths, and the staff told me they just opened in June 2025. I grabbed mine to go since I was working the convention center, but it looked like a cozy spot to sit down too. It's a little hidden, but totally worth seeking out. Definitely one of those spots I'll stop at again when I'm in the area.

Inside you order at the counter and they bring out your food. It was pretty empty when we got there and there is plenty of seating space. The staff were very helpful with ordering and offered suggestions when asked. I got the soup of the day and the Scorsese, Jeremy C got the Brando. These sandwiches were HUGE. I had a regular and I still had enough to save a little for later. Sandwich was hefty had a good chunk of meat and toppings and the flavors! *Chef's kiss*. Loved the food! Definitely worth it!

Maybe because it already receives so much positive attention, it hardly needs my two cents. But after this latest visit, I decided to "pile on" with my love for this place. First, I must alert you to pay attention to their hours, because they are closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I kicked myself at least once, when I made the 40 minutes drive from home, just to find that I forgot that they were closed that day. This store is a double threat - offering a great take home Italian deli with a plethora of fresh and frozen items for you to prepare at home. This is also a great spot for lunch, with legendary sub sandwiches, and an array of hot dishes to choose from. I often do both. On this visit, from the deli, I picked up some of their marvelous, thinly sliced breaded eggplant, which I always get when I'm there. I bring some to my ex-wife and daughter who love it as well. Just give it a quick cook in the oven, and it's delicious. I also got some of their marvelous breaded potato salad, which is old-fashioned homemade style. From the hot bar, I got a couple of Italian sausage and some meatballs. I buy these ready to eat, but take them home to use for dinners later. That way I don't have to cook them. Obviously, they offer both meatballs and Italian sausage in fresh or frozen as well, which I get when I'm preparing my mom's spaghetti recipe. This time, I decided to try a quart of their frozen Nottoli homemade marinara, which I hadn't tried before. So delicious! I had pasta and spaghetti with sausage that night, and pasta and meatballs the next. On my various trips here, besides the Italian sausage that they are famous for, as well as the meatballs, I like their olives and other salad items, the sandwiches, brocciole, and many other hot Italian dishes for lunch. The rigatoni w/vodka sauce is a killer. Finally, the people have always been wonderful , which is very important to me. Despite being busy, it is well organized and you're in and out of there in no time (or you can sit at the table inside if you want to eat in). The prices are extremely reasonable, and I'm always pleased about the value I get for such a good price. I apologize for no pictures on this review. I always just seem to be focused on my own mouth watering choices, as opposed to a Yelp review when I come here.
