After doing some downtown business, Jan was ready for a late lunch (2 p.m.) I had eaten lunch earlier and suggested City Bites located in Leadership Square. There was no line and only a few people in the atrium. That made it nice, quick and quite. Having worked downtown and frequenting Citi Bites on a regular occasion it can be quite busy with a fully occupied atrium. Jan ordered the Baja Chicken Salad. It was hard and robust. It's really enough for two people. In a different twist they mix corn chips into the salad. Jan liked the corn chips in the salad. Nice lunch! read more

Stopped here for lunch because my frozen meal didnt sound great. Should've remembered why most people who work downtown avoid this place. This is a "grilled cheese," apparently. Would you believe there is more bread than cheese, the cheese wasn't even melted, and this thing cost EIGHT DOLLARS. They literally flipped a sub sandwich roll inside out and decided 'hey I guess that's good enough, why would we use the standard sliced bread pictured in several advertisements around the shop??" Save your time and money - unless you want their special, you're just ordering leftover, stale, and half-assed food that they will always skimp on. (Seriously, ordered a philly cheesesteak without veggies and these people gave me back a roll with 2 slices of meat on it; I think they did not know what to do because they're instructed to go heavy on the veggies to hide their skimping ingredients.) Also, be sure to ignore the signs everywhere! They don't update or change them out, so you cannot order about 70% of the food they are advertising. City Bites has excellent sandwiches and cookies. Their chocolate chip cookie is quite sizable and during the holidays, they have a special selection of cookies as well like gingerbread ones. Great sandwiches as well, my favorite is the tuna melt. Prompt and attentive service, and although the interior of the store is smaller, there exists plenty of seating in the Leadership Square common area. Recommended as a great lunch spot if you are ever in Leadership Square! read more

My first day visiting OKC was quite something! It ended up being much colder and windier then the weather app had said and I did not have the proper attire. I was staying downtown and needed something to eat badly as I had huge flight issues the day prior and ended up not eating for 24-hours. With that said, I was shocked at the lack of quick service options in the downtown area. I do realize Oklahoma is not a very populated state and as such, knew OKC was also going to be small on the scale of cities, but I still would have thought there would at least be more food options for people to walk to! Of the few options around, few were open past 2:00 on a friday afternoon, which was also shocking to me! I finally stumbled upon City Bites which was only a few blocks away and was upen until 3:00 (or something like that) so I rushed out the door and flew there. It is inside of what looks to be like a commercial office space and there's no sign outside so I walked into this building hoping for the the best. Thankfully City Bites was easy to find and there was plenty of seating in the lobby area. I don't know what this building actually was for, but I was happy to have somehwere to eat inside so that I didn't have to run back to my hotel holding food in rain, wind and cold. I opted to try the Southwest Turkey cold sub, with added avocado. It was delicious! I'm not sure if it was becuase I was so starving and everything would be good, but I devoured the entire thing! It was bursting with flavor, the bread soft and the ingredients fresh. Their menu in general has a good amount of things on it and if I lived nearby I would definitely be coming back to try one of their large salads or loaded baked potatoes! read more

THIS SALAD IS BOMB. And did I mention that I got it through doordash and it still showed up bomb like this? A little too much lettuce, I hate the skinny cut lettuce but that's just me... but this salad has avocado, sour cream, chipotle sauce, Fritos and SEASONED CHICKEN. PERFECT FOR LUNCH. I typically get the turkey and provolone sandwich on the jalapeño cheese bread. I like that it has lots of toppings. The crushed peppers are amazing and really make the sandwich zing. They fold the meat over the vegetable toppings which is unique. It makes for a different texture. However, it also keeps all the ingredients from falling out of the sandwich. read more

I live for their veggie sandwich. Seriously, they've converted me. When Jeff M saw my 3 star review, he nearly flipped his lid. How could I compare his beloved City Bites to a Subway? I didn't realize that I was committing a cardinal sin, but now I understand the ways of the all mighty City Bites which.... You just have to find something you like! So really... If I were to compare City Bites with a worthy counterpart, I'd say it's similar to Which Which. Why? Because their menus are unique and a little more gourmet. They don't have to get you in the door with a lunch deal. You go because it's delicious and really, it's worth it to me. Most recent discovery? Toasty ciabatta bread. They ran out of white bread and so I had to go with something different. I reluctantly chose the ciabatta because I've grown to only love one place for that style of bread, but woow. City Bites is across the street from my work. 1st time I've been here I ordered the 6" cheese steak sandwich which tasted amazing but not filling. My first visit was so good so I decided to go back there for a second time but this time I decided to go big or go home so I ordered the cheese steak foot long. I asked for the jalapeños cheese bread and no tomato these were my only two modifications but they got me a different bread and with tomatoes. I got disappointed but it's ok this happens when restaurants are busy. What really disappointed me was what I ended up paying for this sandwich and a drink which was approx $15. That and the modifications that wasn't done is why I removed one star. But all in all, good food and great great paper wraps. Will be back read more

I had been to the City Bites in Leadership Square a few times before I decided to write a review. The food was similar to the one located in Brookhaven Village in Norman (which I've reviewed), so I figured, why bother? If you've been in the Oklahoma City metro you've probably eaten at a City Bites. They've been around for a long time and there's several of them. You probably know what they're about. So, I figured I would save my typing for another review. But, then I had breakfast at the Leadership Square location. Now we have something that sets it apart from the other City Bites, something that warrants a review..... I arrived at City Bites at around 8:25 AM. There were a few people eating, and a few came in to order after me. So, although it certainly wasn't crowded, it was doing a steady business. There were a couple of specials on the sandwich board, both were under $4. Additionally, you could order traditional breakfast items: scrambles, biscuits/gravy, bacon, sausage, and breakfast sandwiches. I don't recall the price on all of the items, but I can tell you they were not expensive. I ultimately went with the sausage, egg, cheese, and hash brown sandwich for $2.49. I sat down at one of the many tables in the common area at Leadership and waited for my food. It took some time, nearly 10 minutes. So, if you've got a meeting or are otherwise in a hurry, I wouldn't recommend it. But, when places are making your food fresh, you need to wait for them to make it. When my name was called, I was handed a very hot and fresh sandwich by a friendly cook. I opened the bag up and was surprised at the size. The slices of bread are large, it's the circular bread they use for their sandwiches. The sausage patty was large as well, covered with melty cheese and a fried egg. Additionally, the entire thing was topped with crispy (as they should be) hash browns. It was a large sandwich, filling, and well worth my $2.50 plus 10 minute wait. The bread was toasted well, wasn't overly greasy, and had a nice crunch to it. The egg was fried a little hard for my tastes, some runny yolk probably would have resulted in a 4 star review. But, as it stands this is a 3.75 star review. It is a perfectly compact breakfast for one, and you'll be full afterwards. It may not supplant Café 7 as my usual breakfast spot, but City Bites is going to get my business in the morning much more frequently. Lunch, as noted above, is the same as other City Bites. I think the bread quality at City Bites in general has dropped over the years, but you do have lots of choices. Salads, tacos, soup, and of course, sandwiches. A couple of guys in my office swear by the chicken tacos, so I'll try those at some point. I usually get a 6 inch sandwich and soup. I'm never blown away by my lunches here, but I'm usually not disappointed either. You can certainly do better or worse. It may seem crowded, but they get the sandwiches out at a decent rate at lunch. So, you shouldn't be deterred if you've got to have a baked potato and you see a line. I'll return here for lunch I am sure: it's quick, has variety, and (importantly) is across the street from our building. But, I'm more likely to return for a cheap, filling, and quality breakfast. read more

I ordered the Cajun turkey melt on wheat and what I got was a few pieces of turkey and some lettuce. I couldn't even see the meat or toppings when I unwrapped the sandwich. I used to love City Bites when i lived in OKC years ago. I was in the building for work and decided to try them again. During lunch, this is a busy, busy place. Expect to wait a good 10 minutes or so. Some say they aren't happy with the subs they get here and that they are on par with Subway.
