Small Italian with soda -- this was really good!!
    Doug M.

Stopped in for a quick lunch while in OKC. Not expecting much from a very tiny sandwich shop...but man that sando was good! Ordered a small Italian -- and it was loaded with meats and veggies and perfectly hit the spot. Would most definitely would come back!

    Anitra T.

Needed an Italian sandwich and Yelp suggested that I stop here. I passed the place a couple times because it's located on a busy street and once the gps tells you that you have arrived, you have already passed it. There is also only street parking, so I had to turn around anyway in order to park. I grabbed my sandwich, chips, and a drink. The sandwich was good, especially the seasoning blend they add. It had a nice spice to it. The only thing that made me not love it was the hard bread. Like hard enough to where it crumbled when I bite into it. Had the bread been softer, the sandwich would have been phenomenal. I'll give them another try to see if it was just an off bread day!

Italian sub from Hobby's Hoagies, OKC
    Bruce K.

I've just returned from a week in Italy (Verona, Florence, Pisa, Turin) and here I am seeking an Italian sub. What's wrong with me? On the way to the airport, Hobby's met my search criteria - "open now" and "$" - and I lucked out with finding a spot on the street to leave the rental car. This was a quick in and out so I didn't pay a meter and lucked out. After waiting for the two people in front of me who apparently have never ordered a sandwich before in their lives, it was my turn. "Italian sub. Large. All the way." So very easy. It took only a couple of minutes and I had my sub in hand. It was unwrapped about 20 minutes later sitting at a counter in the Oklahoma City Airport. Delicious! Crunchy bread, spicy toppings, thin sliced meat and cheese, topped with veggies and spicy peppers and perfection. I think the only thing that would have made it better would have been more meat but I'm nitpicking at this point. It was delish! [Review 17091 overall - 126 in Oklahoma - 607 of 2022.]

    Special Italian

I'm from South Philly so I grew up eating hoagies. The staff here is very nice. The bread was a bit soft for a hoagie. Just my opinion. The proportions were good and nice balance of flavor. Good value for the price.

    Bbq chicken pizza 8'

A cute little hole in the wall restaurant with delicious food, i had the BBQ chicken pizza and a small was more than enough for me.

Italian special w/o peppers. Pretty damn tasty! Will go back again!! Just the right amount of oil and seasoning!!

Have been twice and the food was good both times. Nothing too fancy, but service was quick and dining area was clean.

We arrived and were promptly seated. My girlfriend immediately noticed that it appeared to be all 'locals' - that's a good sign! It's not a 'modern' restaurant. It's apparently been there for a long time. It's comfortable and feels like a nice Italian restaurant (I've eaten at many restaurants in Italy so I have a little bit of an idea for authentic ambiance.) We received a basket of bread - delicious seasoning along with an oil dip. I'm a bit of a beer snob so I was happy to see a good IPA on their beer list. We both started with a dinner salad. My girlfriend had the Tortellini and I had the Chicken Scaloppine. Both were delicious. The waiter and waitress were prompt, courteous and helpful. The prices were reasonable. There was plenty of food. We didn't have room for dessert unfortunately so no recommendations there. It was an enjoyable experience. My girlfriend said she really enjoyed it and was very happy with my selection (whew!).

They now have removed the bar prep area to make room for more tables. Does change the atmosphere alittle but understand. The kitchen has always been with the Irish side adjoined. Husband changes what he orders but loves it all. Lemon cake with raspberry drizzle so good. Service great and you don't have to dress up. A very charming place.

Finally booked a table for dinner, seemed like the kind of place that fills up, so we didn't risk just showing up. The room felt relaxed. Not loud, not stiff. We were comfortable, which is about all you want on a Friday night out. I got the Roman carbonara and honestly it was the highlight. It's hard to describe without sounding like a food blogger, but it tasted like someone actually knew what they were doing, the sauce had real depth to it and the pasta wasn't overdone. When the plate arrived I thought "that's it?" but ended up finishing it and not needing much else. They brought out bread with some dips while we waited, and we had to actually pace ourselves so we didn't ruin our appetite. Small thing, but a nice touch. Our server was good checked in a couple of times but wasn't constantly interrupting us. Food came out in reasonable time even though the place started filling up around us. The price is the part that gives me pause. Adding protein to a dish cost noticeably more than I expected, and it's not somewhere you'd go casually on a weeknight. For a proper night out though, yeah, it felt worth it. I'd go back to try some of the other pastas.

Homemade warm soft focaccia bread, served fresh out of the oven started our food journey. The White Anchovies, reminded us of our trip to Sicily, mild flavored served on crostini sprinkled with delightful crunchy fried capers (I added a drizzle of olive oil to add extra depth of flavor. Lamb Meatballs-very delicate & tender, lacked fresh herbs or cheese, but served in a vibrant marinara sauce. Beet Salad-bright field served on generous portion of earthy sweet roasted beets, tangy goat cheese & sweet carmalized onions. Cacio e Pepe- Dish delivered a rich layered taste experience. Homemade Bucatini, cracked black pepper, creaminess of sharp Pecorino cheese sauce clinged to every bite of pasta. The Bolognese lacked the signature ingredients that define the dish, far from being Bolognese! Kudos for making homemade Pappardelle pasta, but pasta had no bite, over cooked to the mushy point. Bravo to server Michael, friendly, knowledge of menu, very attentive taking care that each course arrived with a fresh setting. We will go back to Piatto for dinner. Piatto has a lovely bar area with a nice Happy Hour, we are looking forward to trying out !
