    Country fried steak
    Katherine T.

The country fried steak is just two frozen steak patties you can get at the grocery store. Almost $18 for them. My wife got just plain rice and she said even it was bad. The food is overpriced for what it is but technically it is edible.

Service was Amazing fast and hot . I got the city cafe club and Texas fries , me n my date had a great time just wished we saved room for dessert.

Loved it! Great coffee, breakfasts came out great and eggs Benedict was pretty good, wish we'd had room cuz the pies looked awesome. Huge restaurant with plenty of seating, perfect for breakfast.

The Four Bridges Panini Sandwich and chili

This diner was open until midnight which was why we went there for dinner. Damien was our server and he did a great job working his half of the room. Quite a few people eating later in the evening. They also serve alcohol. Menu was pretty huge. The diner was nice and clean. My husband was happy with his chicken and bacon panini. He had a cup of chili which was just right. I ordered the beef stroganoff cup of soup and it looked and tasted like vegetable beef soup with a couple of noodles. The soup was not at all what I expected. I also ordered a chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad had way too much mayonnaise. I also couldn't taste anything but onions. This sandwich was really disappointing. I picked at it but I really couldn't eat it. The desserts looked amazing in the glass case. I would definitely come again and try something else on the menu.

First time coming to City Cafe Diner and will be our last. Honestly wasn't impressed with any part of our experience from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. First off, the host comes off incredibly rude. Doesn't seem like a pleasant guy to be around at all. I think he may be the manager or owner of the restaurant cause he went to the back and was barking orders at the staff a couple times during our visit. Definitely was off put by his demeanor, I don't think he should be working in customer service at all. Or be managing anyone because I'm sure the staff hate him. Also, our server Nolan seemed like an ok guy but he rarely came to check on us and even forgot to input my sisters appetizer order. When we asked about it he said he'd check on it but they didn't even receive the food until we were done eating our main course. Not to mention the potato wedges looked dry and just had cheese thrown on top and most likely melted in the microwave. Poor guy probably hates his job. Their menu is so big, you can easily get lost in the options. And I don't mean that in a good way. Typically when restaurants can't focus on a main theme for their menu offerings I'd bet that means most of the food is frozen and just heated up if ordered. The quality is typically lacking as well, which was the case with our meals. My husband got the cordon bleu panini, I tried their four bridges panini and my son wanted to try their fettuccine Alfredo. I think between my husband and I, the fries were the star of our dishes. My son seemed to like his meal though. My sister got their eggs benefit and her husband got the monte cristo which he said wasn't all that great. Just based on our first visit I cannot recommend anyone trying this establishment. Not only was the food lacking, but the manager and service could also severely improve.

Hope this place last forever! Breakfast is perfect! I got the Special and quickly realized I had more than I could eat ...ate it anyway... delicious! Wife got the junior plate and helped with my pancakes! Service was quick we had coffee and tea almost immediately! The Cafe looks like a retro style cafe dinner bright and happy! We were staying at a local hotel and the price here beat there's, and the experience was priceless! I recommend highly... you have nothing to lose and you certainly need a taste of the way things used to be!

Was an easy walk from our hotel and was apprehensive because there were only two other people in the restaurant. But the breakfast was really good and the service was good and yes, they desert case is real

Debbie and I had a delicious breakfast this morning at the City Cafe Diner in Chattanooga. I enjoyed the classic eggs benedict and home fries while Debbie tried their banana pecan pancakes.this place is quite a change from their old location, much larger and more modern.

Deluxe Combo Philly on a wrap

We popped in on a Friday evening around 9 while on the road to Atlanta and it did not disappoint. It was a steady flow of families entering but it was never too packed inside. The customer service was phenomenal. Every question asked was answered. Every thing that we requested was quickly provided. 2 managers were present and they both checked in to ensure all was well. According to our server, each cook has worked with them for 10+ years and you can tell! The Philly on a wrap came out hot hot and tasty! The cakes....must get at least two slices. The red velvet and Oreo did not disappoint! I'd recommend this as a casual dining experience that's quick and so tasty!

It just looks more like a bar rather than a place that would serve high quality fresh meals. Everything was clean and the service was great. We got a high top in the bar area and they had a high chair that was tall enough for our son to reach the table. It was great! We ordered the caesar salad to start.... made perfectly. Then we got our entrees. Pictured below.... Both exceeded our expectations! We got our son the kids buttered noodles and he ate a lot of my chicken that I ordered. Everything about this experience was top-notch! From being seated quickly upon entering, to explaining how the ticket validation thing worked (more info at the end), customer service was some of the best I've been shown. The ambiance is chic but casual-great for both cozy date night or fun family night. Our server was so friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon with spicy crab remoulade and my guy ordered the smoked wings with a side of fries. I was happy that I was able to select my own sides from the ones on the menu so I opted for the fried Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon and the buttermilk whipped potatoes. After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. Unfortunately, we didn't do this and the restaurant cannot reimburse the money after you've already paid. You've been warned!

We tried a few beers from Five Wits and per her recommendation got the creamsicle shake as well. Solid beverage choices. The shake tasted part float part milkshake and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. The food on the other hand was a bit eh. We ordered the Asian q burger and the mushroom melt burger and it took quite a while for them to come out and when they did they had unfortunately been left on the grill for way too long and were charred and crunchy. One set of our fries was cold and the bun to burger ratio was extremely off. Luckily, the staff agreed that our burgers were accidentally overcooked and they remade them no questions asked. The remade burgers were moist and better but still not fantastic. They were just burgers with minimal toppings on them. Not really seasoned and the flavor came from the toppings themselves. The buns were still too big for the burgers so there was a lot of extra bread and they have potential to be great but they were just average. Would have probably been a three star review but the staff and drink selection really earned the extra star. Would go back to drink and maybe snack but probably not order a burger.

Wonderful cocktail list with well balanced, well made cocktails. I loved my old fashioned and others enjoyed their drinks too. Very nice, attentive service from the servers although they brought out the oysters without telling us what was what and service was at times bumpy. The interior is nice, with it feeling casual but somewhere you could bring a date. And we enjoyed the lobster cakes which were well done, nice sauce, without overwhelming the sweetness of the lobster itself. So that was positive. Where it failed: the tuna bites on regular and not crispy rice was hard to eat. It was good but a little unruly. The halibut piccatta was VERY dry, almost bordering on inedible. Their special, which was a bento box was not great. The flavors didn't go together and their sushi eggroll had cream cheese which is very gross. Their steak frites was fine if not that memorable. All in all, I would come back for their drinks and their oysters but not sure I would come back for a full meal here.

Wound up at the aquarium for a couple hours and ended up hungry at the very end of it. Not far from where we were parked we found the Wooden City conveniently across from it all (dare I say a brisk walk's worth) with Mellow Mushroom and Ben & Jerry's establishments at both corners. We were given the options of staying inside or being placed outside and we chose (biased a lil) the opportunity of eating outside. We were taken care of accordingly by Jonathan, who is a perfect example of someone that makes tourism worth it, we chitchatted back-and-forth and came across some great options on our appetizers and drinks. While we waited for drinks, we were served water with ice as the weather outside was pleasant but a little too hot for the afternoon... When the appetizers arrived, we were greeted by not only demonstration, but taste above what I've had as of recent. Wife enjoyed the freshness of the tomatoes and cheese whilst I was mesmerized by how subtle and uber smooth my Old Fashioned was. We unwinded and talked about our day here in this city and then our next meal plates arrived. I had the very unique and well presented Beet Ravioli and the wife had the exquisite Spicy Lamb Rigatoni. Immediate upon arrival to our table my wife and I exchanged a bite of each other's plates to give a chance for our taste pallets to experience one another. The Beet Ravioli took back my wife to a time where she made something of similar taste and the Rigatoni took me back to California when I tasted something familiar then.
