In 2008, I adopted a rescue dog who had lots of serious issues. I took him to a different board & train outside of Houston and while he learned to sit and stay, that was about it. Then I took him to CIty Canine, and my dog learned to stay, leave it, heel, and more. We also did the advanced obedience class, an agility course, and sometimes when I travel, he gets a refresher course. City Canine has become a friend of the family. They love dogs, and they are amazing with them. My chubby dog, who is afraid of strangers, LOVES Dan and loves being at City Canine. I am so grateful for everything they have taught my little guy and for the kindness they show to a difficult little dog.

My precious beau who city canine not only trained but has boarded for us over the last . all we can say is that Dan and Geoff have always taken care of our prized possession!! We feel like leaving him at city canine is as good as being home with us. I wish that those who wish to disrespect this business take into account all the good things that city canine provides. We have and will continue to support city canine.

FLEA and TICK WOUNDS after being left at City Canine!

TICK AND FLEA ABUSE! DO NOT SEND YOUR DOG HERE! You would think a dog trainer, of all people, would be disgusted by seeing an animal infested with ticks and fleas. Not Dan, with City Canine. Dan apparently thinks it's acceptable to "train" a dog that is fully infested with ticks and fleas because that's what his facility did to my dog and that's how my dog, Roscoe, was returned to me. I brought Roscoe to City Canine because Dan insured me that he could teach him commands, teach him how to walk on a leash properly (without biting the leash) and how to stop jumping on people. Roscoe came home after SIX WEEKS (yes, six) with no improvement on any of the above. When I picked up Roscoe from City Canine I was in shock by his appearance and by his smell. Roscoe was completely matted and stunk horribly. Dan was apologetic for Roscoe's appearance since Dan's groomer never came to any of the appointments that I scheduled or that Dan scheduled for him. Dan offered to keep Roscoe for a couple of more days to continue his "training" and get him cleaned up since I had already paid for these services. I was not about to leave my dog there for one more minute! The next morning I took Roscoe to his regular groomer, who had to shave him completely because he was INFESTED with TICKS and FLEAS! The ticks and flea wounds were so bad that I took Roscoe to his vet the next day. Roscoe was given medicine for the wounds and is still recovering from this abuse today. My fiancé and I have called Dan to talk about these issues. The one and only day we each spoke to Dan we asked for a full refund since not only were the services not met, there were several more expenses afterwards due to the flea and tick abuse. Dan stated that he was not in the financial position to return our money to us. Dan asked that I send him the pictures of the flea and tick wounds on Roscoe and that he would then call me back. My fiancé and I have called him repeatedly since then only to have our calls ignored. I am moving forward to report the abuse Roscoe went through while at City Canine. I hope my story helps another family from choosing this disgusting facility.

Believe in Dog is the GOLD STANDARD of puppy training! I have enrolled my now 6 month old puppy…read moresince he was 4 months old in puppy 1 & 2 classes plus once a week puppy day school! The results have been nothing less than incredible. In puppy 1 they teach you how to work with your dog on basic skills and necessary everyday things like leash walking. The environment is fun & encouraging! They also have puppy play time so my timid little guy could get used to other dogs and become more social. Puppy 2 expands on that training and adds duration, distance and distractions and how to ween your puppy of treats while training. (Plus a few new tricks & skills.) The puppy day school is my dog's favorite day of his week! He can't wait to go and doesn't want to leave. To clarify, It is actually school not day care. Their ratio of dogs to trainer is approx: 3-1, and all day long they work on training as well as acclimating him to everyday life which includes: noises, different people, objects with wheels, obstacle courses, crate training, playtime, doggie pool time... etc etc. They even give you a report card at the end of the day and talk with you about it EVERYDAY at pick up. Stephanie & her amazing staff are super caring and has really bonded to my dog. I have never experienced anything but welcoming-happy your here attitudes, positive vibes, but most importantly it's a loving / nurturing environment for my dog! Every time I go to believe in dog it feels like a new adventure both for my dog and for me! Thank you Stephanie for what you have created here and thank you to Roxanna, Kate, Isabella, Joanna and the entire staff at BID - you are what makes this such a wonderful special place!

The team worked with her to develop confidence through socialization, communication and learning basic skills including enrichment activities to help us build and support a solid healthy positive relationship. We BOTH did our homework and I am extremely happy with the foundation we have to move forward. While my previous GSPs went to "boot camps" and came back trained and were well loved (and spoiled), we did not develop the level of connection I have with Evey that has come through learning together following the program and doing the homework. I definitely recommend taking the supplemental classes they offer to help you as the handler learn, practice and hone the techniques. It truly makes a difference with your relationship with your dog.

After several training inquiries with multiple companies, I immediately heard back from Karma, and a call with the owner was set up. He asked me all about Juice and explained the options he thought would be best. After deciding on "board and train" he said he thought he had the perfect person in mind and they would reach out soon. A couple days later I received correspondence from Sammye Darling, a trainer for Karma, who wanted to set up a call to talk about Juice. During our call she was very confident that she would be able to help with teaching him basic obedience and jumping. We settled on a 10 day timeframe with the expectation that it would be imperative to continue the training ourselves afterwards. (She would've preferred 14 days because that last few days is really when the training sinks in but I assured her we would stay on it) Scheduling was easy and convenient while we went out of town on vacation. Sammye was warm, gentle, and friendly upon dropping Juice off with her and I trusted her immediately. She stayed in constant communication with us, sending pictures, and updates on his progress. He took some time, he's stubborn, but eventually she saw the switch and said he was doing great! I missed him so much but knew he was in good hands with Sammye. Fast forward 10 days later and the day came to pick him up and I couldn't wait to see him. I'll spare you all the details of baby talk, kisses, hugs, etc. but it was a joyous reunion that had us in awe of the things he had learned. We spent about an hour there learning the commands, how to reward them, and practicing before heading home. She worked wonders and we were so excited to go home and continue the work. Before leaving we scheduled our follow up in person training session for a couple weeks out so Sammye could come see him in his own environment and see if we actually kept up with the training which we did! He is doing great! No, he's not perfect and we're still working on certain things but he's a different dog in many aspects. He has a "place" for when we're eating and now does it without asking and gets "off" the bed when it's time (he's too big to sleep with us) so he has his own. Those are two giant wins for us and we can't thank Sammye enough! He learned so much more and we continue to work with him everyday. Karma was professional and quick to respond which is always something I appreciate. Sammye, our trainer, was a delight who was professional, caring, thoughtful, hard-working, and made Juice feel right at home (in her own home) while teaching him some manners. I can't recommend her enough! Juice definitely missed her and was so excited to see her when she came over which further solidified how amazing she was. Call Karma and ask for Sammye as your trainer. You won't regret it!

Good Lead Dog Training was our first ever experience with dog training. We adopted our new dog,…read moreSadie, from the Houston SPCA in June, and with her already being three, we knew that we would need some help getting her trained. We set up an initial training session with Mindy, and things went really well. She brought us a few things the first time she came over that we did not have but would need for the training process. With Sadie's breed, she is a very smart dog and started to pick up on the training rather quickly, so we signed up for a plan for more training sessions. These training sessions were at home, in public at places like Home Depot and Memorial Park, and at group class sessions with other dogs and their owners. We worked on basic commands such as sit and stay, but went beyond the casual side and attacked the more advanced stages, such as getting Sadie to sit and stay in the middle of running. The biggest takeaway from working with Mindy was that, outside of the basic commands, she really focused on asking us what we wanted to work on and made that the task at hand. She tailored her services to our wants, and that really sticks out. She was thoughtful and explained the reasoning behind anything she wanted us to work on and would answer any questions that we had. One of our biggest things we wanted to work on was Sadie's interaction with other people, so during that very next group class, she had a training exercise with the other owners and their dogs to work on that. Good Lead Dog Training really showed the importance of dog training and that it is an essential part of being a responsible dog owner, and that benefits both the dog and the owner. Training establishes communication and mutual understanding, helping a dog learn acceptable behaviors and boundaries while strengthening their bond with their owner. Working with Mindy, we learned that training provides mental stimulation and structure, which are vital for Sadie's overall well-being. A dog that is properly trained is more confident and capable of adapting to different environments or social situations. Beyond improving obedience, training plays a critical role in the safety of the dog, their owner, and others around them. A dog that responds to basic commands can avoid dangerous situations like running into traffic or approaching other animals. Training your dog is important to them, but after working with Mindy of Good Lead Dog Training, we learned the importance of our role as well. Taking the exercises we were given in class and working on them between sessions not only improved Sadie's behavior (which was never bad by the way) but also improved our relationship with her. If you want a dog trainer who is personable and cares, we highly recommend Good Lead Dog Training. Mindy is great at what she does and will work hard to make sure that your personal goals for your dog are met and set you up for success.

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.

Monica picked up on this right away and instead of just charging through, took a step back to assess the situation and told us that this lesson would be free since Daisy wasn't herself and even considered bringing another trainer in.
