Beautiful and well kept apartments! I lived there for five months and got out of my lease early. I…read moreunfortunately did not have the experience I hoped for. There was a little to no soundproofing between my apartment and the one below me and had continual noise issues with the people that lived below me. They had a troubled dog that would bark for hours in the middle of the night, keeping me awake, even with earplugs in. The tenant below me would be working on his truck in the garage even at 11 o'clock at night and he would slam his garage door so hard it would shake the floor in my upper apartment. They also loved playing loud music. It was just never peaceful for me once they moved in. On top of that, another one of the residents would creep on me, always walking by my apartment and dingdong ditching me. On top of that, one of the tenants in the apartment complex next-door watched me walk home and found out where I lived. He came over drunk to my apartment one night. I did not feel safe here anymore on top of never having peace from the neighbors below me, and I got out of there as fast as I could. You may not have the same experience I did, but just be aware.

It says they are open 10-5 everyday except Sunday. No one there. Mind you I'm moving from Seattle and I had to make a trip over to try and see these places. One of the residents showed me the pool and it looked great, but, no one there. I called their phone number and left a message to contact me. No response. My girlfriend called them multiple times. No response. I would still like to get an apartment there as they seem like they are nice inside and they are very close to my GF's house. As my dad would have said, 'seems like a chicken shit operation to me'. db

The cabinetry in the kitchens is beautiful, and there's plenty of electrical outlets. The location is terrific--just steps away from Centennial Trail, and you can walk to the downtown core and to Riverfront Park. My apt. has great views, and the other tenants I've encountered seem happy to be there. I moved to Spokane from the coast and the Boxcar reminds me of the luxury bldgs. in Seattle's South Lake Union Neighborhood, but at a much more reasonable price. Highly recommend this place.

That gave me a front-row seat to the evolution of this community from the very beginning. I also had the unfortunate opportunity to watch it steadily decline. In my opinion, the single greatest contributing factor was the leadership of Katy McAdams. In four years, I never witnessed the property deteriorate as rapidly as it did under her management. What had once been a community I was genuinely happy to call home became increasingly frustrating because of decisions that reflected poor leadership, a lack of accountability, and an apparent inability to address resident concerns in a professional and constructive manner. The defining characteristic of my experience with Katy was not simply disagreement--it was the consistent refusal to accept responsibility. Legitimate concerns were met with dismissive corporate platitudes rather than meaningful solutions. Communication frequently felt adversarial instead of collaborative, and accountability always seemed to be someone else's responsibility. My final interaction perfectly encapsulated the experience. Rather than acknowledging the issues that led to my departure, I received the familiar, scripted response: "I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way." After four years as a resident, that statement came across as performative rather than sincere. I ultimately paid a disputed balance because my time and peace of mind were worth more than continuing to engage in a needless dispute. That payment should not be interpreted as agreement with how the situation was handled. It was simply the price of closing the chapter. It is genuinely disappointing because this property had tremendous potential when it opened. I watched it grow from its earliest days, and I also watched it lose much of what made it a great place to live. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this property while it continues to be managed under the same leadership. I don't leave negative reviews lightly. After four years--and after seeing both the property's best and its worst--I feel prospective residents deserve to know that the quality of management can have a profound impact on their experience. Unfortunately, my experience under Katy McAdams' leadership was overwhelmingly negative.
