Came for a work dinner cruise. It was a nice touch as we boarded to be met with champagne (and martinelli's for us non-drinkers) There were two different buffets. The upstairs had salmon, salad and roasted potatoes, the downstairs had chicken, salad, clam chowder, brocollini, shrimp. The downstairs buffet quickly ran out of brocollini and shrimp and there wasn't anymore coming. I heard the salmon was good, I mostly ate the potatoes. There is a super tiny kitchen so it must be difficult to feed 100 people in a short amount of time. The dessert buffet was mostly thawed pre-made items but not bad. The cruise itself seemed to mostly focus on shipping containers. Overall it was a pleasant trip. Enjoyable conversations with my coworkers. read more

On February 21th my companion, and I went on city cruises Dinner Cruise out of Newport Beach. I was very impressed & surprised on how organized it was . It is something very special to take a date or loved ones on for a nice special occasion for date. The crew and workers are awesome & welcoming. The boat itself is so clear & nice . The dinner was amazing way more than I was expecting. The dinner was delicious . The soup dinner and dessert were amazing. The whole atmosphere was amazing. Service was very good. No complaints at all. The music onboard was excellent & the DJ let you choose the music you like to listen to, which was very helpful on the cruise to get people dancing. The thing I would recommend is go on the cruise during the summertime so you can enjoy the whole boat no matter what.. the night my companion and I went it was a little chilly on the top part of the boat, but it's very nice to sit up there with a drink and check out the view. I had an amazing time working with the crew . Everyone was so helpful and just easy to work with.The yacht was beautiful. The first night the whole harbor was full of fog which made it extra spooky a night to remember for sure. It's definitely a One of a kind experience ! I could easily see getting married on this boat so many different levels bathrooms on every floor it was a great time! I definitely got my exercise going up and down all the levels . was on this dinner cruise New Year's Eve 2023 and staff greeted me and my significant other with courtesy and a smile. After being given champagne and seated at a window while other guest were seated, my server came over and introduced herself. I'm a first timer with Hornblower and I guess I expected too much or was it? First off I want to say, all the servers were great and the food was good. But what I had a problem with was the DJ was stuck with his music catalog in the 60's/70's. Not one dance song was played that was current or even past the 90's genre. I was talking to another guest who advised me that they made request but they were ignored. Come on city cruises, its a New Years Eve party not a geriatric party with somebody turning 80 years old. Myself and a few other couples were giving the DJ the benefit of the doubt that he would change the era of music he was playing, but it never happened. I guess in order to hear the music some guest wanted to dance to, you had to slip the DJ a little $$ on the side as what I saw. Paid a lot of money for this special night only to sit on the sidelines to music that was not dance music or something I could not dance too. The cruise was nice, but the DJ messed the whole vibe up for the night. First impression is the last impression. I surely will not be doing this again at least not with this company.. read more

We booked the dinner cruise for my 30th birthday and had a great time here. They click a picture before you board. As soon as we boarded, we were welcomed with a glass of champagne. We had the celebration package, so there was a champagne bottle waiting for us at the table. There were truffles for the both of us. They also packed the champagne flutes for us as a keepsake. Breadsticks were brought to the table, to begin with. We really liked the hummus that came with it. Then the salad was brought in which was pretty good too. We roamed around the sky deck between courses and it was quite perfect. The breeze was cool and nice, the music was slow and subtle. We sat on the couches in the upper deck and just looked out to the ocean and the night sky. We don't eat beef and let our server know. So he got us chicken instead of the ribs. The panko crusted salmon was good too and the chicken breast was not tough at all, as one would expect. As we disembarked, we were given chocolate dipped strawberries. There are several locations. This review is for Long Beach location. I won free tickets. We decided to go for the Sunday brunch. It was a beautiful day. Located off pier 6. Park at the parking garage for three aquarium and walk about 10 min to pier 6 or park in the lot where Hooters is at. You must make reservations in advance. The captain greets you at the dock before coming aboard, which I thought was really nice. After you board your check in and then you are told to stay upstairs or down stairs and your table #. We actually had a table upstairs. The brunch was all you could drink mimosas which my fiance loved. Brunch was served after leaving the pier to sea. The brunch cruise took you around Long Beach Harbor. The ocean was a bit choppy the further out so it made me a little nauseous. If you have time greet the captain. You can ask him questions and you may just get to drive the hornblower or at least look good at the wheel. The food was served downstairs and was really good. Everything was fresh and they replenished quick. From salads, to fresh fruit, eggs,waffles, pancakes, desserts, breakfast burritos, and shrimp. I definitely want to come back for the dinner cruise. No driving of course. Take a jacket or sweater. It gets chilly. read more

Nice trip on a well kept boat that we used to go to Catalina to go diving. It was smooth sailing the whole way.

First time having this brunch experience on the yacht. Was very pleased with the atmosphere/ambiance, food, and professionalism with the crew. We did the brunch as opposed to the dinner because we wanted to see the scenery of the harbor during the day. Luckily when we went it was sunny and mid 70's. Megan was our server and she was great! She was attentive to our needs as well as the other servers if you were in a different area of the yacht. Thanks Megan for the great service. If you have AAA, you can also get 15% off. I was on a holiday company cruise and while ordering a drink at the bar I witnessed a belligerent patron yelling homophobic slurs at the poor gentleman behind the bar . I must say this professional peter held his composer more than any person I'd seen . He deserves a raise . This young man held his tone while he was being yelled and disrespected and nearly assaulted for not putting a cherry in this awful women's mouth . She than furthered her rant for being cut off , to her surprise it is not appropriate to cut someone off while hurling homophobic slurs at a man working and still managed to dip her fingers in to patrons drinks . I went on the Champagne brunch cruise and really enjoyed myself. Upon arrival you're greeted with champagne and apple cider. There wasn't a band but there was a guy playing his heart out on his guitar. The food was your typical brunch fare - pastries/danishes, salads, salmon, bacon, sausage, eggs, french toast, turkey and some mystery meat. I didn't get close enough to really investigate. Although I was a little disappointed that there were no waffles or omelet station - sigh. The boat was clean and spacious. Viewing the surround port of Long Beach from the boats sky deck is really relaxing. This would be a nice gift for an anniversary or mother/father's day. The entire experience was very entertaining. My sister and I decided to do somthing fun for the 4th of July weekend so we booked a pre-fourth of July cruise for almost 200.00 each.The event was sponsored by VIP Nightlife. The description stated dinner was served and there would be a fireworks show. The cruise also offered an open bar. There was no fireworks show and when asked about it the intoxicated host said yes there was and tried to show pictures ( which were shots of fireworks from somewhere else) .Another staff member admitted there was no fireworks show after inquiring from his boss. The dinner consisted of finger foods buffet style, but the staff would not supply any plates to eat on. We were told they were finger foods so we didn't need them. The guests were forced to use 8 oz plastic cups to put the food in. After most of the food had been served they brought out a few plates after multiple requests from the guests. Another hostess was actually drunk and we observed several other staff drinking alcohol. This event was very deceptive about it's quality and offerings. My advice is never to take any event sponsored by VIP nightlife. They misrepresent their events and are guilty of false advertising. There was nothing classy about it at all. read more
